Angelina is in Vietnam to finalize adoption

Angelina Jolie is in Vietnam to finalize her adoption of a little three and a half year-old boy that she met while visiting the country with Brad last November. Officials there have candidly admittedly that they’ve sped the process along for the wealthy actress, but say that’s to be expected with a famous person and it’s not that much more quicker than an average adoption.

She will attend an adoption ceremony in Ho Chi Minh city tomorrow morning and then go to the American consulate to see if she can obtain a passport for the boy later that day.

An earlier story had Angelina receiving approval to adopt the child in May according to officials, but it seems that her papers went to the top of the stack and it’s happening six weeks sooner than expected. The boy is said to be three and a half, although earlier reports listed his age as “between four a five.”

The child has been living at the Tam Binh orphanage outside Ho Chi Minh City ever since he was abandoned at a hospital as a baby, according to adoption officials. Shortly after he arrived at the orphanage, staff attempted to locate the boy’s birth parents with no success. The boy is healthy, friendly and shy, they said. He also gets along well with other children and enjoys playing soccer, the AP reports.

Vietnamese law makes it difficult for unmarried couples to adopt so Jolie is applying solo – but she and her partner, Brad Pitt, had planned for months to welcome a Vietnamese sibling for Maddox, 5, Zahara, 2, and 10-month-old Shiloh.

It was a “process that began shortly after Shiloh was born [in May],”

I can’t wait to see pictures of her new son. Maddox plays soccer and he may enjoy having a playmate, but he’s been the alpha child in that family for a while and there’s sure to be some rivalry there.

Pictures are from Angelina’s trip to Vietnam with Brad last year.

I think she needs to concentrate on the children she has now. You know that she has to hire nannys for each child, she cant look after those children on her own by herself. It seems like a rather nice gesture, trying to save the children and all but for crying out loud, you have brought a child (Shiloh) into this world and she needs direction, love and the attention and support of her parents. Just look how Angelina used to be, she credits that to her father and her”horrible” childhood. Imagine when Shiloh grows up and sees the articles where her mother called her a “blob” and how there has been adoption afer adoption. It just seems rather strange to me. Is there some sort of special tax deduction the rest of us dont know about relating to adopting outside the US???

Well congrats to jolie and pitt. And the new member in the fam. I’m sure they know what they are doing, with regards to the kids. I wonder why brad didnt come with her to pick up the new kid? Odd.
