Kelly Clarkson got married in a quickie ceremony at a remote ranch in Tennessee about six weeks ago. She announced last month that she’s pregnant, so it’s likely that it was a shotgun wedding. I don’t begrudge her that and am not a traditionalist by any means, I’m just giving some background.
Anyway Kelly has been telling everyone how happy she is, and recently gave some TMI about her sex life as a newlywed, saying they were trying for a baby “like rabbits.” She’s also called Brandon’s kids from his first marriage “her kids” in several interviews. It’s been too much, but there’s a lot of goodwill for Kelly and she seems like she’s genuinely happy and just wants to share that with the world. Hopefully that stays true for her. A new story, published in The Dirty from an anonymous source, claims that Brandon is cheating on Kelly, sort-of.
Nik, I wanted to submit this story to you because I didn’t know where else to turn. I like the idea of keeping myself anonymous, whereas any other media outlet would have jumped at publishing my name. I have a career and children to keep safe, so your site was my best option. Short and simple: Brandon has been cheating on Kelly (with me) for the past 5 months. We met at a golf club in TN and have exchanged multiple texts and hung out a few times over the last little while. Because his parents are music royalty, Brandon really thinks he is invincible and better than everyone else. I don’t even know why I’m saying any of this since my story isn’t that juicy. We haven’t slept together but we’ve been intimate in other ways. I really hope his wife keeps her eye on him because he’s not the great man that she thinks he is.
So this woman never says if she specifically had anything physical with Brandon, she’s just suggesting that more happened, and that they had a kind of “emotional affair” – if this is even true. This was an anonymous email sent to a website that probably didn’t do much fact checking. We wouldn’t either, I’m just saying that the whole thing could be made up.
Radar Online got some quotes from Brandon’s first wife, Melissa Ashworth, who says that the claims that he’s a cheater are BS. Apparently a friend of Brandon’s went on the record to claim that he cheated on his ex wife multiple times during their marriage. In her statement to Radar, Ashworth mentioned that her children from Brandon were currently with her, so that answers the question for me as to whether the mother is still in their lives. Maybe Kelly was just being loving when she referred to the kids as “hers” or maybe she was being proprietary. Either way, Brandon’s ex is staying classy. Here’s what she said:
A few months ago, the couple was faced with similar claims when Blackstock’s family friend, Jerry Reed, accused him of “running around on” Ashworth “three or four times” during their marriage. The two finalized their divorce in early 2012, months after Blackstock began dating Clarkson.
But Ashworth insists that her ex-husband has never been anything but a model partner and father, and will be the same to Clarkson and their child.
“This is ridiculous … this silliness,” Ashworth tells Radar exclusively. “I have my two children [by Brandon] right here, who I love.”
She continues, “I adore Kelly and Brandon as a couple, so if I say anything it’s going to be positive.”
Blackstock and Clarkson have yet to comment on the rumors.
Clarkson, meanwhile, postponed the overseas promotional tour for her new Christmas album, “Wrapped In Red,” claiming to be “incredibly ill” from her pregnancy.
Ashworth doesn’t want to trash the father of her kids to the press and is too smart to burn that bridge. Notice that she didn’t directly answer the question, she deflected and brought up her kids. I would believe that Brandon cheated on his first wife, but whether or not he’s up to something behind Kelly’s back remains to be seen. I hope for Kelly’s sake that this story isn’t true at all. She just got married and she’s expecting her first baby. This would be so low of Brandon if it’s true.

(The only others that fit this ‘infinite love’ for me is Futurama, & (the original) Law & Order. But neither are sitcoms, so not in the same ‘category’ as GG).

@Nicolette – Those were my exact thoughts. That’s not to say I don’t believe it’s *possible* (It would be following a sad stereotypical ‘Hollywood relationships pattern). But I really want Kelly to be happy, & to have her husband there with her to raise their child. It’d sort of break my heart, after hearing her making all these euphoric/honeymoon-phase comments, gushing about her marriage & pregnancy, only to find out he’s as big a douchebag as he looks.

She’s actually talked about this — she eats more or less the same, regardless of activity level. So she tends to be heavier at the beginning of a tour, and lighter at the end of a tour, and then she’s also dieted specifically to lose weight, but gains again when she stops watching her calories/exercise levels.

I couldn’t reply to you up thread. I am not trying to be rude or argue, so please do not take it that way, but does her weight really matter? Lots of people deal with fluctuating weight but at least they aren’t under a microscope having people witness it.
Eliza there is nothing rude about your comment. You’re comment is as tamed as a baby monkey being bottled fed by a child compared to some of the arguments and comments I have been a part of and read on C/B.
But to answer your question I guess her weight doesn’t matter but remember we comment on the looks of almost every celeb featured on C/B. Height, weight, hair, clothes, facial features, nothing is left untouched. We generally comment on AJ’s, Kim K and even Goops weight on this site, even when the question is not about how they look. Why would you think Kelly would be exempt. I don’t think CJ was being rude about Kelly, she just pointed out how Kelly’s weight goes up and down, which it does.
This story is 100000% made up by an insane Kelly fan who has been out for Brandon since they started dating. She sets up gossip blogs and spreads lies about him all over the internet. Kelly used to have a restraining order against her and her team is well aware of her. Her new site has 5 posts and 2,000 twitter fans but features “exclusive” interviews and know-all on the situation.The whole situation is out of control and this beast needs to be stopped.

The Dirty’s been known to feature stories that turn out to be made up stories by nutso “fans.” It recently happened with a Gary Allan story and that’s what I figure happened here too.

How could it be a shotgun wedding? She’s been engaged for a long time, and she many months ago called off a big wedding set and said at that time they would just do it with the kids. She was hardly pregnant when she said she had too much on her plate and was overwhelmed and said they would elope instead and did a few months later have this private wedding.
And I call bull on the rumor and how hurtful. She is in the beginning stages of her pregnancy and doesn’t need this. What’s sad is anybody can throw stuff out there on the internet like this and people are like blind sheep and just believe it.

Exactly. Besides that, they’ve been married six weeks and she announced on The Voice this week that she’s still in her first trimester. It’s quite possible she wasn’t even aware of her pregnancy during the wedding.
What a shame that this ridiculousness is coming out now. Kelly waited a long time to experience this happiness in her life and some people just want to ruin it. I hope she doesn’t pay much attention to it and goes on being her happy self.
BTW – she was so pretty on The Voice last night and sounded great as usual. She is one artist who sounds just as good live as she does recorded.

I think he knows he has the upperhand in the relationship. It seems like she’s totally smitten with him and head over heels in love with her first true love. I can totally see him doing something like this. It’s weird because I always got the lesbian/asexual vibe from her. So it’s weird that she got married and is now pregnant, while shooting from the rooftops about it. That being said, I hope it’s not true and she lives a happy life. She deserves it.

I completely disagree. I have a son from a previous marriage, and my husband refers to him as his son and my son calls him “Papa.” My husband IS my son’s father literally 98% of the time-he changed diapers, he does homework, baths, cuts up food, catches vomit, plays catch, all of it. My ex even refers to him as my son’s ‘other dad.’ My son now has 2 half sisters-how would it make him feel if my husband said to people, “These are my daughters and this is my wife’s son”? Ridiculous. Sorry, but this ownership of parental terms has gone too far. If my ex were to get remarried his wife would become whatever my son chooses-if he’s comfortable with her being “Mom” then I’ll be grateful my son gets TWICE the love.
I don’t know guys. I mean, why did his first marriage end in divorce if in fact he was an “amazing partner and father?” I understand her reluctance to speak to the media and obviously this woman doesn’t owe us anything, but there had to be a reason for their split.

After my ex-husband broke up our marriage with his cheating and lies, he would tell the new women he dated that his marriage had broken up because “we were both too young.” So, they didn’t realize that he was a liar and a cheat because – guess what – he lied about it. Funny how that works.

Ha, totally agree. Same situation with my ex-he told people we broke up because I was crazy, not because he was an abusive cheater who got someone else pregnant.

Kelly referred to kids as hers? Is there context with exact quote? She herself had a step father from preteendom I believe and like 9 step/half sibs. She is extra sensitive bc of that. I have only heard her say she is an add on mom not the kids’ parent/mother many times. That they have a great mom actually step dad too because the ex wife you just quoted got married a year before Kelly and Brandon did. I think on the view she said the kids have 4 people loving on them.
