  1. Matilda is growing like a weed and is the spitting image of Heath.

I giggled at the sound byte of Pres. Obama and school being cancelled in DC due to a little ice.
He’s right, I don’t remember school being cancelled on the South Side except for the blizzard of 1967. We got over 20 inches of snow that year.

  2. *edit, over 20 inches in under two days.
    I miss the edit feature.

  3. Daisy when I first moved from Buffalo to Connecticut I thought it was so funny when my boss got everyone pizza for coming in to work when there was 2 inches of snow on the ground. He got a little miffed at me for it too! That’s too funny that Obama is complaining about it.

  4. Sorry about the edit feature getting pulled. That and the “recent comments” feature are a huge drag on the database and were causing the site to go down during heavy traffic periods. It was take that down or get another expensive server.

  5. If the Chicago Public Schools closed down for the conditions that warranted a snow day in D.C., they would be closed all winter! Winter in Chicago is the worst, extreme HUMID cold, with savage winds. Chicago is one tough city.

  6. Mehh. I live in Alaska and know all too well that if a city isn’t prepaired for bad weather etc., even a little snow and ice can wreak havoc. We had a bit of a warm spell a couple of weeks ago and school was closed for 3 days because the weather was that treacherous.

  7. CB, I took it as “.. we in the Midwest are made from sterner stuff. Takes more than a little ice to keep us indoors!”
Buffalo? Wow, the home of lake effect snow. Bet you don’t miss that.

I understand about the server, etc.
I miss those two features, very useful tools.

  8. Kelso is a douche-cannon.

Miss my edit and recent comments functions however, made it so much easier to snark and retract truly vicious snarks.

  9. I moved from my California homeland to the Midwest for college, and the winters were an assault, to say the very least. I was always amazed at how classes were NEVER canceled due to the weather. There could be an ice storm of biblical proportions, and still, we’d have to shuffle our asses across the frozen tundra to get to class. Crazy.

  10. Is the non celebrity section of the human race becoming an unwilling participant in a Truman Show type experiment? Why is there so much d-baggery with the internets these days? Why do we fucking care about Ashton’s neighbors? And why was he having a ‘pretend’ conversation with his husband Demi? Is this a wat to generate fake attention? Why am I watching it when I don’t have to?….
I don’t have an answer for that.

  11. Snow days are a blessing and a curse. My high school graduation was postponed for a week because of them. I didn’t particularly care much for that.

There wasn’t a post I didn’t edit when I had the chance. But, I’ll manage, because Deceiver doesn’t have one either…and I’ve been there for a relatively long time.
