Oh, sweet baby jesus, these two are so precious. I just want to hang out with them.

  2. blue marie says:

    They are so cute together.

    • Secret Squirrel says:

As soon as I saw this post, the theme song to “The Odd Couple” started playing in my head! The only question is: Which one is the neat freak and which one is the slob?!!!

  3. Sixer says:

Gotsta love Surian and Surpat – the world’s cutest muggers!

  4. doofus says:

I love that they wear those hats (from their play, I think?) in every picture they post.

    • Londerland says:

Yep – I think Sir Patrick hashtags everything #didigogodonyc, Didi and Gogo being the first names of the tramps in Waiting For Godot. So on top of being adorable, they’re visiting Santa in character…! I’m pretty sure Beckett would be pissed off…

If I could get drunk with those two it would make my life. You know they’re fun drunks.

  5. insomniac says:

I love the body language. Ian’s the kid who wants nothing to do with Santa, and Patrick’s the kid who loves it all.

  6. Dimebox says:

If I were that Santa, I would frame that picture and display it as one of my greatest treasures. He is so fortunate, much more so than the poor Santa at Walgreen’s that I saw get thrown up on yesterday!😝

  7. Londerland says:

    R. Kelly has apparently been taking lessons from Kanye in how to spew self-aggrandising gibberish. To be fair, though, the worst Kanye has ever done is proclaim himself the persecuted messiah of expensive Parisian leather pants, as opposed to R. Kelly defending himself against rape allegations…

…except wait…he doesn’t defend himself. He doesn’t even deny it. He doesn’t deny it!

The phrase “society doesn’t care about young black girls” cropped up a lot yesterday, and goddamn if he hasn’t just proved it: accused of multiple instances of rape and abuse, he addresses his response to the public. The victims aren’t even mentioned. The girls he abused don’t even count enough to be mentioned in his defence – they are irrelevant to him. It’s him, his ego and the record buying public. The same invisibility that kept his victims quiet: you’ve just enough value to be worth abusing, but not to be listened to. He feels invulnerable.

It’s amazing that his crimes skated under the radar of popular culture for so long, and heartening that they’re becoming common knowledge now. I’d love to think people will refuse to support his career, but then, there are still people buying Chris Brown’s music and watching Charlie Sheen “act”…

“The phrase “society doesn’t care about young black girls” cropped up a lot yesterday”

It really made me think. What can I do? What can I do to help young black girls know that I care about them, their well being, their safety? I wish I had better answers to these questions, because I would really like to put my feelings into action and help someone and/or society in general in this regard.

      • Simmie says:

This might not be exactly what you’re looking for, but there are two great non-profits: the Young Women’s Leadership Network and the I Have a Dream Foundation. They’re not specifically aimed at black girls but they do help them out a lot. Might be a place to start.

    • Leila in wunderland says:

I’ve heard some of his music over the years but haven’t really thought about him at all until I found out yesterday that he’s a sexual predator. It’s a shame he’s not in jail, and that he’s gotten away with what he’s been doing for so long.

  8. Jenna says:

They really are proving you can have an absolute blast and hang out being goofy with friends at any time of life. Love them.

As for the virgin birth thing… all I can say is, despite both her parents being college graduates (her dad made detective on the force and her mom is a NURSE, which somehow makes it worse) I have one cousin who, may all my books incinerate and my ereader be forever destroyed should I not be telling the truth, managed to somehow convincingly sell the story she was still a virgin when she got pregnant at 15 for almost 4 months. Another 2 months would follow that had her (and her mom) holding firm at the idea she had somehow gotten knocked up swimming with boys (and used as a reason it is ‘ungodly’ to swim in mixed gender pools) before I lost my temper completely and blurted out “No, you got pregnant because you had unprotected sex with the ENTIRE FOOTBALL TEAM. ~AND~ the basketball team!” at a family dinner. There are folks who will believe anything as long as it lets them keep their heads in the sand. And there will always be folks like me just grateful to not be invited to certain parts of the families Thanksgiving reunions anymore.

    • Londerland says:

It’s stories like this that make me sad we Brits don’t have thanksgiving. The best I can hope for is relatives getting in a drunken fistfight at a family funeral, and those don’t come along nearly as often.

    • JWQ says:

I was recently reading about a woman who convinced her husband that she got pregnant while he was in Afghanistan (i think?) by watching a porn movie. Apparently the porn actor’ s sperm was so strong that she got pregnant through the tv screen. And he is so sure of her fidelity that he refuses to question it! Now, I am not advocating being that manipulative, but if my husband were that stupid, I would probably try that route as well! Human stupidity (him) and human assholery (her… does that word even exist?) at their finest!

As for McKellen and Stewart, those two make me giggle like an idiot! Love them!

    • lucy2 says:

It totally makes it worse that her mom is a nurse and still believed her! I know people do and think weird things when they’re in denial and upset, but wow.

      • Simmie says:

I have a friend whose mom is a nurse and totally sold her on the idea that if a woman has too many sexual partners she stops being able to fall in love. Because brain chemicals. I don’t know if her mother actually believed that or made it up hoping to keep her daughter from having casual sex, either way it’s pretty bad.

  9. Amy Tennant says:

Can I sit in all three of their laps please?

  10. bluhare says:

    Hmmm . . . Sir Patrick doesn’t wear a wedding ring!

  11. Rhiley says:

While Kourtney and Scott should split, it doesn’t seem to be case. They just need some attention because Kimye and Khloemar have taken it all lately. PMK likes to keep things somewhat even.

    • don't kill me i'm french says:

i have no idea if Kourtney and Scott are splitting but i know Enty wrote last week Amy adams was pregnant,6 months ago Jennifer Garner was pregnant ,last week-end Ashley Jude has an affair with her teen niece,3 years ago, Kevin Bacon was divorcing and all it’s totally false

  12. Sam says:

If Ian McKellan is wrong because he’s gay, then I don’t want to be right!

Sorry, but with all the anti-gay stuff swirling today, I just love that we get pics of a man who is, by all accounts, gay and tremendously successful and happy with himself – and his straight bestie.

    • Simmie says:

Yeah. I’m always wary of putting people on pedestals for stuff like that (ya know, noble savage, magical negro etc.) but when you see some of the hateful things people still think, it really is great to look at someone like Ian McKellan and see how successful he is and that he seems to be a great guy who is happily living his life. Both McKellan and Patrick Stewart are impressive role models.

  13. Lux says:

Wow, Balmain just really went down in my estimation.

  14. Aw, too cute. 🙂

  15. lucy2 says:

Aw, I love those guys and their friendship. That’s really cute.
I was just up at the tree last week, I would have freaked out like a lunatic had the two of them been there taking photos together. Did see Patrick walking around a few years ago, but he’s even more awesome when with Ian.

  16. Tara says:

Adorable! I too wish i could hang out with them; that’s a long line of hopefuls, i guess. 🙂

  17. Lilo says:

    I want their jeans!

  18. Abby says:

I love these guys! They seem to have such fun together.
