Rachel Zoe & Rodger Berman named their second son… Kaius Jagger Berman

zoe baby

As we discussed yesterday, Rachel Zoe and her husband Rodger Berman welcomed their second child over the weekend. Rachel posted a photo of herself and Rodger with their new bundle – doesn’t he look SHOCKED? Like, “How the F did I get here?! WHO ARE YOU?!” We live in a world where Rachel Zoe is a mother… to TWO BOYS. The first boy is named Skylar Morrison Berman, and now this newborn baby boy has a name too. And it’s another pseudo-hippie name too… Kaius Jagger Berman. Ugh.

As loyal readers of The Zoe Report, I wanted you to be the first to see a picture of the beautiful new addition to our family, Kaius Jagger Berman, aka “Kai”.

Rodger, Skyler and I are madly in love and will be happily hibernating for the next couple of weeks. Thank you for all of your kind words, as they mean so much to us.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year!

Love,
Rachel Zoe

[From The Zoe Report]

SO MANY parents have been giving their sons “Kai-” names. I guess everyone wants their son to go by Kai these days – Kai is the new Jake/Jack/Madison/Madelyn. The “Jagger”… I don’t know, you guys… unless you’re actually related to Mick Jagger, I don’t think you should be throwing that name around. Unless you’ve named your cat or dog Mick Jagger, and if so, kudos to you because that’s an awesome animal name.

    Congrats!
I still can’t believe she was able to carry and give birth to a baby!

    • Tazina says:

She looked pretty big in a couple of online photos. I don’t see why she wouldn’t be able to have a successful pregnancy just because she’s thin. She’s not the first.

Congrats and best wishes to the happy family on their new beautiful baby. Almost a Christmas baby!

      • Vanessa says:

She had a surrogate for both kids. Come on.

      • An says:

        @Vanessa

She bared her pregnant belly on her tv show before. So she definitely carried Skyler herself.

      • Vanessa says:

When was this An? I saw clear prosthetic bump in her Elle Magazine shoot. And the way she moved and pulled that cloth tight around her fake prosthetic. No way can you do that with real pregnant belly. Stop spreading lies. She is wreck less to portray you can be this anorexic and have a healthy baby. She needs help!

  2. gg says:

Jagger. Oh, then everyone will think he is related to Jagger? not.
If she had a girl do you think she would’ve named her Pretentia?

  3. Jennifer12 says:

AUGH! When I named my first child ten years ago, I did not expect the Kai name to become so popular. This blows. 🙁 No one better pick up on Mardou.

    • emmie_a says:

Cindy Crawford fans might have picked the name 11 years ago after Cindy named her daughter a version of Kai…

      • Jennifer12 says:

Yeah, my husband loves her. When I found our daughter’s name online, he thought it was a great name but when he found out that CC had a daughter named that, he was pleased at the connection. *eyeroll*

    • gg says:

Fear not, it’s still a nice name. It could have been so much worse.

      • Jennifer12 says:

That horrible housewife just named her new baby Kaia. I thought we picked such an unusual, cool name.

    • Gai says:

And my co-worker who is in her 40s is named Kai. The name has only been around a few hundred years.

  4. ali says:

Love the name. Orginal and not Bear!

  5. ldub says:

$500 she refers to them as kai and sky.
    f*ck it, its christmas, a $1,000!

  6. emmie_a says:

Love the baby’s expression. So cute! And that’s a great (photoshopped!!) picture of Rachel.

  7. Patricia says:

Wowwwww can you imagine naming your child a certain name just for a little media attention? That’s obviously what this hag did. She rubs me every wrong way possible.

  8. Suze says:

The baby is OF COURSE so very cute! But Rachel – good god, the first baby photo is not about you. You could wear your second longest fake eyelashes and let the child have a bit of attention.

  9. courtney says:

has it ever occurred to any of you that they might be Rolling Stones fans nobody complained when Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee named their youngest son Dylan Jagger in 1997 or when Faith Hill whose given first name is Audrey & Tim McGraw named their youngest daughter Audrey Caroline in 2001.

  10. rianic says:

I thought that was a photo of Amanda Bynes wearing the sunglasses

  11. j.eyre says:

I will assume, if Kai’s middle name is after Mick, that Skylar’s is after Jim? I am okay with paying homage since it seems consistent.

  12. Hannah says:

Full-on eye make up in the hospital… Well, why not, I guess….

    • Spooks says:

      And why not?

    • Trillion says:

I brought my makeup to the delivery/recovery room
and made up within a few hours of birth. I looked like hammered hell after pushing for so long and I knew there would be photos! I didn’t cake it on, but just enough to even out my skin and mask my exhaustion and make myself feel pretty despite the hospital gown and granny panties with built in mattress pad.

  13. judyjudy says:

That baby’s expression cracks me up.

  14. nicegirl says:

I actually kinda LOVE the names, with the rock and roll (not rocknroll) middles. Now where is little baby Hendrix?

  15. Marianne says:

Kaius isnt so bad. Prefer the “C” spelling though.

  16. Mel says:

Congrats to them. But if you’re going to post a pic of yourself with your fresh new babe why not try and look at least a tiny bit happy about it. I guess that’s her style though :/

  17. Sloane Wyatt says:

Cassius Jaggermeister MeisterJaigger Bergman. What’s not to love? *humming John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt*

  18. Trillion says:

It’d been a ton cooler if she’d spelled it “Kyuss”. But then Kyuss wouldn’t be as cool.

  19. Balticprincess says:

Here in Germany “Kai” is a not unusual, albeit old fashioned name. We have a lot of Kai’s in their 40ies running around here. Congrats to the couple, they are IMO an odd couple, but al least they seem happy!

  20. Jane says:

Sky and Kai. Trendy and rolls off your tongue. You know she thought that out well in advance. But, nothing wrong with that. She can name her kids whatever she wants, just like anybody else.

  21. lisa says:

9 months and it just is the same name as the other kid minus a consonant

  22. Kaia says:

Kaia is a common name in Scandinavia/Germany. I’ve had the name since ’75. Not so trendy, really.
