Margot Robbie in red Oscar de la Renta in London: stunning or a total mess?

Leonardo DiCaprio

These are photos from the UK premiere of Wolf of Wall Street. Kaiser wanted me to point out how Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill did not pose together at all. Don’t make any bromantic accusations this time, people! Even when the two bros are in the same frame, they’ve got Margot Robbie as a convenient buffer. Why, it’s almost as if they studiously avoided standing next to each other. Although you can see how Leo is sort of giving the eye to Jonah in this photo. You know, they went out to dinner together the other night. Leo totally hid his face from the paparazzi. Man, I hate mixed signals.

Let’s talk about Margot Robbie’s dress. She’s wearing Oscar de la Renta, and I have to stop looking at it. Why? Because I loved the gown at first, and each time I look at it again, I start to pick it apart. At this point, the skirt is giving me awful Kristen Stewart in a Stella McCartney onsie vibes. I’m going to get in trouble for saying this, but Margot’s skirt now reminds me of a giant, airy mons. The top of the dress was better than the bottom until I realized how awful and bunchy the fabric looks. Plus I can see Margot’s bra shining through the dress. Why does Oscar look so cheap here? Something nice: Margot’s hair and makeup look gorge.

Margot Robbie

Margot has been doing the talk show circuit, and she stopped by Jimmy Kimmel’s show. She admits to completely lying to her family about the nudity in this movie. The lie went really, really far. She even told them “there is a body double and they CGI’ed my head onto someone else.” I think the jig is up with her family, but the girl has personality.

It kind of looks like a vagina

  2. Spooks says:

I don’t like the dress. She is stunning, but I would give her 30 years easily. I can’t believe she’s 23. Maybe if her hair colour was softer.
And being bad on talk shows doesn’t mean someone doesn’t have personality. Some people are just shy. That doesn’t mean they don’t have personality.

    • CC says:

I can see she’s beautiful, but she’s too much pageant girlish for my taste.

      • here's Wilson says:

        yes, she’s very pageant…. not a fan of that look… :p

and usually Oscar is my fav and I hate this dress…. awful

    • We Are All Made of Stars says:

It said she did have personality.

      • Spooks says:

Yes, she is funny on talk shows – she has personality. Kristen Stewart ( she is the first that came to my mind, I’m not a fan) is not – she has no personality.

    • Thinker says:

I think this particular dress ages her a bit, and really does her no favors. I cannot stand satin for this reason. Although in the clip she seems younger, I think she looks early 20s. Agreed she’s beautiful.

      • M.A.F. says:

I would have placed her in the late 20s category. I, too, dislike stain. Stain is made for the bedroom not the red carpet. However, if the dress didn’t have sleeves and was looser, it could have worked.

  3. Lori says:

the bottom of her dress looks like a breach birth…………..

  4. Corrie says:

She looks lovely, color, cotour and uniqueness is all right.

  5. tila says:

That dress is truly horrid. She is beautiful though and I enjoyed wolf of wall street. Preferred it to American Hustle that’s for sure.

  6. Kt says:

I like the way the dress moves but I totally agree that upon further inspection it has major problems. In regards to the comparison to KStew- it’s hard to believe she and Margot are the same age, right?!?

  7. YummyMummy says:

The dress is really bad but I do like her. She is beautiful and was great on pan am.

  8. Natalie says:

I watched that interview and she was really good! It takes guts to mock the Brooklyn accent a mere 30 seconds after the host of the show tells you he grew up in Brooklyn. So much so that it took Kimmel a beat to recognize she made a jab (he laughs heartily). I’m now a fan.

  9. I Choose Me says:

She’s cute. Hate the dress, like the shoes. That’s all I’ve got.

    • j.eyre says:

I like the color of the top part of the dress. It would look lovely on your paint brush!

(now that I have said my one nice thing today, I can go back to being the shrew I was born to be. Happy New Year, ICM)

  10. m says:

She’s really pretty but there is something about her face that gives it a trashy Playboy look. Maybe its more her makeup than anything else, she looked much more fresh faced when she was on Panam.
Anyway, I can’t wait to see this movie. It looks great and Im pretty pumped to see DiCaprio in a role that doesnt require an obnoxious accent.

    • Lori says:

I find she has a similar look to Jaime Pressly…………..kind of a smugness to her smile.

    • Maureen says:

“Trashy Playboy look”, OMG. I was thinking that the other day. But to be more polite I’d call her incredibly “basic”. Just like Kate Upton and Scarlet Johanssen. Very basic but with the good luck to have a team of stylists working them up.

      • Jess says:

She is a replica of Jamie Pressly, only a little softer and prettier. When I saw WOWS I thought it was Jamie at first!

  11. Stephanie says:

That dress is completely awful. Very ill fitting from the waist up, too.

  12. Maureen says:

This girl rubs me the wrong way big time. Anyone else?

    • Jade says:

Yep, big time! The whole bra flashing with Will Smith, and all the Leo hook up rumors coming from her camp, this girl reallllly wants to get famous, I bet her next step is to get in a high profile celeb relationship. On a related note to that, she’s rumored to play Jane to Alexander Skarsgards Tarzan.

    • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

      Yeah–me too.

Plus, wasn’t she trying to hit it up with Leo, during filming, or is that a figment of my imagination?

    • Nick says:

Geez women get so much hate on this site. Why not give her the benefit of the doubt when it comes to rumors…since they are just rumors.

      • Maureen says:

Please learn the meaning of the word “hate” before you level it at people. It’s a serious word and shouldn’t be thrown around because you don’t like someone’s opinion about an actress. Do you know about the Holocaust and how Adolf Hitler masterminded the slaughter of 6 million innocent human beings? Okay, THAT is hate.

    • BooBooLaRue says:

Yup too much like Jaime Pressly to me.

  13. Mar says:

This woman is drop dead gorgeous! She can wear a potato sack for all I care- but the red dress is awful and her bra marks look even worse.

  14. GeeMoney says:

The dress is hideous. But DiCaprio looks good in that suit.

  15. babblerouser says:

She looks uncomfortable in her vagina dress. Hmm. I wonder why. Also, the dress has an amazing ability to make a skinny girl look like she has a bloated belly.

    • Endoplasmic_ridiculum says:

I wouldn’t say she’s skinny. She looks like she’s super fit with a good amount if muscle on her. Her arms are nicely tones vs lanky and waste.

  16. Dani says:

I looove her dress, but it needs to be maybe half a size larger on top. She was amazing in WOWS. Her Brooklyn-ness was spot on. And she’s soo gorgeous. I don’t believe she’s 23 either, but maybe 27.

  17. Tessa says:

She’s really hot and they put her in this? Why? Horrible.

  18. Nicolette says:

Don’t know who she is, but that dress looks like a giant drop of blood.

  19. Sisi says:

She can’t even lower her shoulders in that dress it’s so tight.

  20. E says:

    I love the dress!

  21. Grant says:

She’s gorgeous, and she’s great in Wolf of Wall Street. One of the highlights of the film for me.

  22. GIRLFACE says:

    That dress is a trainwreck.

  23. Stepforded says:

    I think she’s gorgeous!

The cut of the dress is all wrong, and I don’t like the layering look of the fabric.

  24. Sweets says:

    Yikes!!

  25. damn says:

All I can see here is Leo, THE MOVIE STAR. He looks divine!

    • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

I know! I mean, Leo is always gonna be Leo—a free wheelin’, modelizing, mama’s boy. That’s who he is. But he is a fine actor, and I think he looks a lot better now, than during his Titanic days–baby faces don’t do it for me.

  26. MsAubra says:

    It’s not awful thoug

  27. pato says:

well, probably the designer hoped that if she didn´t eat like the rest of Hollywood she would lose her normal breast and the dress would look just fine. because the top of the dress is clearly for someone smaller.
she´s is stunning. I loved her in Pan Am.

  28. Jessica says:

She reminds me of Katherine Jenkins, they look very similar.

  29. Norman says:

I think Margot is lovely but the dress, it looks like a riped red whoopee cushion at least on the first picture.

  30. Lark says:

She’s gorgeous and talented, but she’s definitely looks several years older so I hope that doesn’t work against her in the future. I kind of feel bad for Blake Lively to be honest, she was the “busty blonde” of the moment with the killer bod and her comes Margot Robbie and Amber Heard snapping up all the roles. Meh, I hate comparing women in the first place but it’s true that they box actresses into certain boxes (blonde bombshell) unless they are multi-faceted and have great range.

    • Carolyn says:

I don’t feel sorry for Blake…she was endlessly hyped and then everyone realised she can’t act. Bye bye career. She’s at home baking with Ryan. She’s Ok.

      • Lark says:

Yeah, that’s true. She seems happy, and she never lived large and the Gossip Girl syndication money (plus fashion deals) means she’s financially very stable and probably will never have to work again for her entire life.

  31. Mollination says:

She is incredibly beautiful, nice in interviews, and held her own on screen with very talented actors, but I am a horrible person because her character was so awful that it’s actually tainted my view of her. So childish, and yes, I’m well aware how stupid that is. I guess it’s a nod to her acting skills though….but gosh that movie was rough.
