I was going to cover the annual Art of Elysium gala, which is always held the Saturday before the Golden Globes, and it’s an event that is usually well-attended by a handful of A-listers, plus an assortment of B-listers and Fashion Girls. But last night’s gala was pretty boring and barely anyone important came out. You know why? Because all of the big names came out for Sean Penn’s “3rd Annual Help Haiti Home Gala” sponsored by Armani. Which… I mean, good for Sean. This fundraiser benefited the Haiti charity he started several years ago, so he behaved himself and everything (funny/interesting sidenote: the same day as Penn’s fundraiser, his ex-wife Robin Wright confirms that she’s engaged to her boy-toy Ben Foster! HA.)
Luckily, Sean Penn’s main lady Charlize Theron was there to support her man. Charlize looked really good in this Givenchy minidress. Her hair looks great too. Apparently, Charlize & Sean were all coupley and kissy-face at the event too.
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky gave us a preview of what I’m assuming will be their loved-up, knocked-up appearance at the Golden Globes tonight. Chris is a presenter, and I will so disappointed if Elsa isn’t there, dominating all of the attention.
Diane Kruger in Preen. It seems a bit fancy and overblown for what was basically a cocktail party fundraiser. The dress seems more suited for, like, a ballet or opera gala.
Winona Ryder. I can’t find the designer ID, it may be vintage. She looks lovely, but you know what’s funny? Winona’s frenemy Gwyneth Paltrow was at this event too. HA.
Allison Williams in Osman. It’s okay. I just can’t get excited about this girl.
Pam Anderson – I know it’s crazy, but I really like her short hair. The dress is awful and she looks pretty rough otherwise, but the hair is cute. Pam also announced at the event that she had remarried Rick Solomon. Because of course.

This has to be one of THE oddest couplings I’ve ever seen come out of Hollywood. I wonder if most people remember that teenage Charlize witnessed her mother shoot Charlize’s father to death in self-defense after he went on a violent rampage at the house. Charlize grew up around hard-core domestic violence at the hands of a raging, violent alcoholic. It shocks me that she could even look at a man with Sean’s background, let alone screw him and allow him around her toddler son. Jesus.
Sean does look “rode hard and put up wet.” Is that spray tan a disguise for red-faced, Type A, rageaholic high blood pressure, I wonder? Thanks for the backstory on Charlize, @Maureen. That’s so tragic, and could explain how a beautiful, successful, self-respecting woman would find this guy acceptable, given his history of violence and unkind remarks about never having been loved in his marriages. I adore Sean Penn as an actor, but as a person he’s a piece of work. Maybe they’re both just rebounding from their recent split-ups. Neither one looks particularly happy.

There was this one time she VOLUNTARILY auctioned herself for a date for charity and despite meeting at an expensive, crowded restaurant, she felt so “scared/creepd out” she had two friends eat at a nearby table. Afterwards, she trashed the guy saying he was soooo creepy and she was scared for herself….yet never says why he was creepy/scary.
Plus again…before she met the guy (even if he said some creepy things in an email/phone contact) she asked her friends to be at an expensive, CROWDED restaurant? How was she in a dangerous situation? If he really made her feel afraid for herself through email/phone, she could have cancelled easily and donated $10,000 to charity herself and refunded the guy. Her net worth is 50 million or something……
I’m sure the guy was a fan of her beauty and now he got trashed and all his friends probably treat him as a laughing stock.

In the past I have always thought that Charlize looks gorgeous but cold and empty but now it seems that I was right. Last few years her true personality has unveiled to the public from her friendship to Chelsea (who doesnt hesitate to verbally attack children with racist words) and now Sean Penn (a known violent man).

I think that was something that was extremely rude and hurtful to say in an interview. It’d be one thing if she felt legitimitely threatened–but to do an interview, where ANYONE can see and hear what’s being said, and talk about how your charity date was soooo creepy (without offering any real evidence that he was creepy–like saying he sized her up like a piece of meat or something)–is rude. And it isn’t funny.

Yeah, I’ve had strangers (always men!) come up to me and ask me what’s wrong, even though I’m fine! But Diane always seems so sour. She’s at these events, essentially, to have her photograph taken, yet can never manage to crack a smile.

Read past posts on this site–I saw Sean in this movie called ‘Up at the Villa’, when I was 17. Now let me tell you–I don’t think Sean is in anyway physically attractive. He’s not ugly, but if you just looked at his face, I think the only thing you’d be able to say good about it is he has pretty eyes. But my God–after I saw that movie, I knew why women threw themselves after him.
This mofo is as charming as the devil, and THAT’S why he gets all these women–Madonna’s STILL hung up on him after all these years, even after ‘allegedly’ cracking her skull with a bat. Have you ever seen any of his interviews about Haiti–he really, truly cares, and he is passionate about that—and that’s what sucks women in. Gwyneth basically stole the script and part in ‘Shakespeare In Love’ from Winona – saw it at her house one night, snuck a copy and went behind her back to get the part. That’s when the friendship blew up.
I find that story hard to believe. The whole girl-dress-like-a-boy disguise is silly, but Winona is so petite at 5’2″ or 5’3″ max that Gwyneth, 6 or 7 inches taller has a better body type for the part.
Sean’s coloring reminds me of the color I painted my old kitchen when I was going through my Southwest decor phase, it was called Burnt Sienna, dude is looking rough. He’s a great actor and seems to be dedicated to his Haiti charity, but I still think his general attitude and poor actions towards women doesn’t give him a pass. I just don’t get why Charlize is with him after what she witnessed as a child. She looks great here, but my favorite is Emma and her daughter.

Regardless that it is a beautiful thing but Love and Attraction is truely complex and sometimes confusing. I mean,take a look at or think about the not-so-goodlooking guys and some ugly ones you know and then their wives or girlfriends. You’d find out that the women are always beautiful and hot while these men are their polar opposites.
Perhaps it’s the law of Physics( opposites attract,likes repel) at work in this all important aspect of life – love and attraction or whatever you may call it.

I believe most of these men who aren’t conventionally handsome or goodlooking in any way have redeeming qualities. Probably their generousity,kindness,selflessness,affectionate nature,phenomenal lovers,romantic,humility,caring,good sense of humor. These are qualities that any woman can fall for. And I think these sort of men have them in abundance in many cases.
Now also take a look at the hot guys in Hollywood- even in real life and the reverse is the case.

They are so self conscious about their looks and the attraction towards the others that become even a…..holes often. Said that about Charlize and this orange guy maybe have some traits of their characters that match or they complete each other in some ways. Anyway he dated ScarJo for what….6 months and then nothing. Give him some time, probably by summer they will be done if he is what we have heard.
