Angelina’s Childhood Trauma: No Car in High School

Per earlier post from Celebitchy, you know Angelina’s brother, James Haven Voight spilled it to the media earlier this week.

The “TV kiss” was the last time I remember hearing or seeing anything about Angelina’s brother. The last time he was in the news it was for french kissing his sister (or not) on national TV.
James Haven isn’t in the news very often but when he does talk to the press the stuff that comes out of his mouth is amazing. Celebitchy covered a lot of the recent interview with the UK’s Daily Mail but I just couldn’t resist the “childhood trauma” portion of the story.
Reason that James Haven did the interview was to defend his sister from some of the media criticism as and give details on their dysfunctional childhood and because he probably needed cash.

One of their major childhood hardships? Neither Angelina nor James could afford a car.

He explains: “One of the saddest things in my life happened when I was 16, which is when you can get your permit to drive in LA. I did not have a car in High School and neither did Angelina.

“Try to imagine. You go to Beverly Hills High, one of the wealthiest High Schools in the nation. Even the cheapest car that anyone has is brand new. All my friends are well off. I have a movie-star father and no car.”

Are you crying yet? Get the Kleenex because there’s more.

“It was debilitating. I did not to go to the prom [the social highlight of an American high school career] because I felt uncomfortable that Dad would have to drive me. It’s an embarrassing thing.”

I can only hope that adopting kids and being with Brad will make up for the lack of teen transportation. Cry me a river. Away from James Haven.

My god she was even uglier then.

    LOL! I love the commentary…

  3. someone says:

Isnt that a darn shame boo hoo. She may not have had a car, but she had her brother to love, and love, and love….she turned into Whorelina, because of a car? She needs therapy more than I originally thought.

  4. AC says:

Im sure it was embarassing, but if thats all the trauma you got… uhhh… you’re a pussy.

  5. Busy body says:

I am still crying for the pain those poor kids went through. Can you imagine,no car and your dad is driving you to the Prom? James Haven should have been taken to court by Social services for child neglect!

Now look how the turned out!

  6. Busy body says:

    Not James Haven, Jon Voight.

  7. Iva says:

The horror – Jon Voight should be punished for child abuse!!!

  8. Mr. T says:

Poor kids. They sure grew up underprivelaged. At least their father would drive them to the prom. Some dads don’t even do that. They really look depraved, er, I mean deprived.

  9. countrybabe says:

I thought we talked about this already, but I have to say you got better stuff on here than you’ve had for a week.

  10. DogRunner says:

I commend Jon Voight for trying not to raise another pair of spoiled brat Hollywood kids.

Sounds like he was a concerned & loving father and tried to be a part of their lives rather than buying them off with stuff.

I can’t believe that they are complaining about this…….

  11. lola lola says:

Wow, She’s gotten a great nosejob since high school

I can’t stop crying! This is so awful! 🙁 I mean, I read a local story a couple of weeks ago about a 4 year old girl who drowned in a bathtub of water after her parents forced her to stay in there for 10 hours to wash the urine out of her clothes, but that little girl’s story just doesn’t seem to compare to how horrible it must have been for angelina and her brother growing up. F*%#ing whiners, shut the hell up! You don’t know what problems are!Geez…

  13. Iva says:

Actually in thinking about this – if this is the type of childhood stuff they are bitter towards their dad about, how completely and utterly shallow both of them are.

  14. me says:

It’s hard to believe that someone who goes to Beverly Hills High can’t afford a car?! But everything is possible, I guess.

  15. Maritza says:

    James looks so gay.

  16. Sam says:

    waaaaahhhhh

I don’t think they hate their dad over a car. In the previous post regarding this interview James Haven had said something about his dad being emotionally abusive and not paying their mom her support payments. Oh, yeah, he cheated on the wife a lot. And he told the media that that his daughter was mentally unstable. Those things would piss me off too. Remember this is James complaining about not having a car, not Angelina. I don’t see any reason to read into it things that aren’t there

  18. rose no thorns says:

It’s useless Julie. People love to bash Angelina and this article is perfect fodder for the fire. Somehow James’ sentiments became Angelina’s too even though she is not the one giving the interview. Seriously though why the hell is he giving interviews. Is he selling something? But then again aren’t they all.

  19. Other Karen says:

I don’t think the guy was saying it was a trauma of a lifetime. He’s just saying that it made him ashamed in high school.

It’s not uncommon for teenagers to be intimidated by others with many more material posessions, and we shouldn’t mock them for their feelings as young ‘uns. Especially since he was in the lowest 1% percentile in terms of possessions.

  20. Elle says:

Regardless of what level your family is financially, rejection by a parent can be devistating, and make it nearly impossible to ever trust anyone. Ever.

  21. gg says:

The emotional neglect and rejection by their dad is the real issue here, not the damn car.

  22. wh says:

Oh you pussy, you didn’t go to prom because you couldn’t get a girlfriend. You look just like your ugly ass sister.

  23. Roxxi says:

Omg. That’s just so sad! WAHHHHHHHHH!! I don’t think I’ll EVER recover from that one, you hear? NEVER!! OMG!! I HATE JON VOIGHT! He SUCK! I must go and cry in my bed for Angelina and her poor deprived brother. WAHHHHHHH!!!

  24. frewtloop says:

    I echo those sentiments Bored.

The haters are so easily manipulated into adopting a line of thinking they don’t bother to draw their own conclusions or use rational thinking to form an opinion. These posts appear to be pandering to them.
