Naomi Campbell in Michael Kors at the TV Awards in London: plastic or fierce?

Here are some photos of Naomi Campbell at the 2014 National Television Awards in London last night. I’m assuming she was there because of The Face, because this event was a bit… downmarket for Naomi. She was by far the biggest name there, but that’s probably because I have no idea who many of the British TV stars are (who is Abbey Clancy and why do people care about her?!).

Anyway, Naomi is wearing Michael Kors. Thoughts? I actually thought this was Versace and I was going to praise it because it seemed like old-school Donatella. So I’m surprised it came from Kors. I actually like it, and I rarely like Kors stuff. The wig and the makeup are another story though. That wig looks so damn cheap! It looks like she snatched it from a Naomi drag queen right before the red carpet. And the makeup… well. I’ve been thinking for a while that Naomi has been messing with her face (Botox and fillers would be my guess), so it’s possible the sloppy makeup is in reality just wonky cosmetic work.

By the way, before Naomi even came to this event, she caused a controversy. Apparently, she refused to use the peasant dressing rooms!

Naomi Campbell has reportedly requested a “more luxurious” dressing room for The National Television Awards. The supermodel has been called in to present the Talent Show prize at the UK’s National Television Awards, which take place in London tonight.

While most stars are happy to spend time between appearances at one of the rooms in the O2 Arena, Naomi is reportedly after something a little fancier. According to British newspaper The Sun, the 43-year-old’s team are hoping a luxe hotel in the area will be able to accommodate her.

“What a palaver. Apparently Naomi wants something more luxurious so the team have had to scrabble around trying to find something suitable nearby,” a source told the publication. “It’s a surprise because the O2 dressing rooms are used to handling big stars with big demands. Jay Z’s been a few times as has Rihanna. They hardly slum it. But it seems they’re not up to scratch for a supermodel. Hopefully a five-star hotel nearby has some availability. We’re glad she’s coming as she adds some A-list glam to proceedings, but it has not been the easiest thing in the world to organise.”

An insider close to the model added that Naomi wanted to stay and watch the show, apparently asking for ten seats to be put aside for her entourage.

It’s like the event organizers are just BEGGING to be beaten with a bejeweled phone. Apparently, Naomi threatened to not even show up if her crazy demands were not completely adhered to. Which brings me to a very important question: does anyone really give a crap about Naomi Campbell this much? I mean, I can see inviting her and making some special accommodations for her, but after making a list of crazy demands and threatening to walk, why not call her bluff? Why not say, “Ha, okay, we can’t do that. See ya.” While she’s still a “supermodel” it’s not like she’s the most important person in the world.

She looks beautiful to me and is aging well.
And why do people always have to make her into some ‘angry black woman’. She served her time for the phone throwing scandal, move the f along.
Whenever Kate Moss is brought up here no one mentions her coke scandal and the way she neglected her daughter and hanging out of a hotel window.

  2. Ice Maiden says:

While I’ve no doubt at all that Naomi really is a demanding, arrogant diva, I do sometimes wonder if she doesn’t make these ‘outrageous demands’ so as to ensure publicity? It’s not like she’s that big a star these days.

  3. AG-UK says:

She looks great in this photo and no one has a body like hers and she can WALK a runway like nobodies business but up close in person she seems to have done something to her face not sure what but cheeks are puffy.

  4. Kiddo says:

I was trying to figure out what was bugging me so much about the dress, and why it came across as budget, and as best as I can assess it, I think it’s because the ‘nude’ tone doesn’t match her skin. It makes the fact that it’s lined or actually fully constructed with spots so obvious, as opposed to being maybe a peek-a-boo dress that is at once risque but really conservative. There is no mystery in it. We can see that the ‘flesh-tone’ is heavy material. I like the way it looks on her arms.

Naomi is gorgeous, aside from the Kors dress.

The whole Supermodel era (Cindy, Naomi, Eva, Linda, Christy…) are all aging so well.
    Love the dress

I miss the supermodel era…they were the ultimate glamazons and I don’t think any of today’s faces can hold a candle. That said, I’m gonna have to disagree that Cindy is aging well. She seems to have had a lot of work done and it’s obvious. It’s so sad because she is so ridiculously gorgeous that if she left her face alone or just went with some subtle tweaks, she would probably still look amazing. We should all be so lucky to look like Cindy! I don’t know how Christy Brinkley did it, but whatever she did should become the model’s handbook to aging well.

      • MaiGirl says:

Gotta agree about Cindy! I can’t watch one of her infomercials without cracking up, as if the world doesn’t know what’s going on. What’s Cindy’s anti-aging secret? No, not a magic French melon! FILLERS! Lots and lots of FILLERS!

I can’t with the wonk eye and weird puffiness and pretend it’s all just MELONS people! Nothing to see here, lol.

      • Bridgett says:

Have you seen Christy Brinkley in the last 5 years? She has done SO MUCH to her face. I can’t even watch when she pops up on TV every once in a blue moon.

I go to a certain high end hair salon in NYC where some celebs go. It has tiers of stylists so you can pay a wide variety of prices depending on the level of stylist. They recently did a reality show with her and said she is beyond gorgeous face and body. She had worn extensions for so long , however, so she has alopecia or big bald spots from the fake hair. Hence the wig. They said women can traumatized the root with too many years of extensions and simetimes there will never be regrowth in the spot. The stylists said to be careful, it’s becoming more common as some people get addicted to extensions.

    • MaiGirl says:

That is 100% true. I have a friend who has alopecia due to years of weaves. Some women, like me, can’t handle the damage. Viveca Fox has the same problem.

I dunno, I’m not seeing “wonky cosmetic work”. I’m not a fan of the bangs but she is still one of the most beautiful women.

    • deehunny says:

Yes. I think she looks sensational. Also, that wig looks anything but cheap. This is how you do bags in a wig IMO. Pam Oliver should take note.

  9. Nev says:

Always fierce. Don’t piss her off. WERK.

  10. Shannon1972 says:

I think Naomi looks really beautiful here…she always wears a wig these days (hair damage?) so that doesn’t faze me. She is still a stunning woman and that dress is gorgeous on her. I think the whole look is styled well. She is wearing a lot of makeup, but the heavy cats eye has been her thing for a long time. As for the diva demands, not sure I believe it. But whatever, it makes for a good story.

No matter what she does, I always love Naomi!

    • Dreamyk says:

I keep staring at her neck in the 2nd pic? She has at least 3 different colors going on..her face, her upper neck and her lower neck complete with a..wrinkle necklace?

  11. LAK says:

I’d say this was down market for her, but she’s got a new career in reality TV. Girl needs to hustle.

  12. Jayna says:

Stunning. I loved her when she was on WWHL.

  13. AlmondJoy says:

I see nothing wrong with the wig. Half the women we see here have wigs or extensions of some sort. Naomi looks absolutely beautiful and slays even on her worst day. As far as her behavior though… THAT’S where the problem lies.

  14. tila says:

    @observer couldn’t agree more.

  15. Shopperetta says:

Her face looks the same as ever (i.e. damn good). Don’t really care for the Ann Jillian ‘do.

  16. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

She’s beautiful, but I’ve never understood why she gets away with being such a mean, spoiled person. I just can’t like her.

  17. Harriet says:

Naomi Campbell is a GODDESS. Attitude problem, sense of entitlement and all. Love her for all those things…

Abbey Clancy- lingerie model, featured in Britain’s Next Top Model, who married a footballer (soccer) called Peter Crouch and featured in the recent version of Strictly Come Dancing. I’m concerned I know all of that though…

  18. Nerd Alert says:

Is being a supermodel like being a marine? Like, you’re one for life once you become one?

Because I never thought of it that way. I wouldn’t say Naomi is a supermodel. I’d say she WAS a supermodel.

    • Harriet says:

She IS a supermodel. Once you join the ranks, you’re one for life. But there is the random supermodel term used for any slightly famous model (note VS models are not supers) and then there are the originals, Naomi being one of them.

  19. Alexa says:

Honestly – I’m disappointed with this look on Naomi. I was recently browsing through one of my fashion mags from the past year (either Elle or Marie Claire?) – and there was a fashion spread starring Naomi and I thought, “Wow! She IS very exotic-looking and beautiful.” Here – she looks like any other ordinary lady you might see at a dressed up occasion. She just looks so UN-special to me here. Tall? Yes. Gorgeous? Beautiful? Stunning? No. So I have to say that these are not good examples of her beauty. (imho 😉
