Here are some photos of Kristen Stewart at LAX (on Sunday, in the grey sweatshirt) and arriving in Paris on Monday (the black sweatshirt). Apparently, Kristen went straight from de Gaulle to Chanel. Did Kristen fly to Paris (with some girlfriends) just because she had an urge to do some shopping? How… un-Kristen-like. Our little lip-biter is growing up, y’all! She likes to shop in Paris, praise Jesus. Of course it’s perfectly possible that Kristen stopped by Chanel because she now has a contract with Chanel, and perhaps she’s in town to do some promotional work. Still, the first thing she wanted to do was shop.
Even though she’s wearing her permanently grumpy face, I’m feeling a general warmth towards Kristen these days. I think Kristen is trying to reboot the whole “Kristen, Inc” thing and find her footing as an indie actress and fashion muse. She’s being more pleasant in interviews and I kind of believe that she knows that Robert Pattinson isn’t coming back to her now. So… I kind of want her to find someone new to date. Someone scandalous and fun.
Here’s an interesting little story about Kristen too – according to the Twihards at Just Jared and E! News, before Kristen flew to Paris, she went undercover to Lisa Marie Presley’s birthday party, where Kristen and Riley Keough spent some time having fun together. All’s forgiven after Riley kind-of/sort-of banged Sparkles for a few weeks last year?

I don’t understand how these fashion houses get celebrities that are not believable for their brand. I understand its a popularity thing,but Kristen is always scruffy, and JLaw is so not the glamour girl. I would want people who even a little represented my brand in their day to day life.

Definitely, you can really tell when an actor/actress just isn’t a right “fit” for a brand. I’d love to see Jennifer Lawrence do Calvin Klein or maybe Ralph Lauren when she’s a bit older. I don’t know enough about “indie cool” designers to know who Kristen Stewart would be good for.

I think this show how much Chanel wants to get with a younger audience. Even more mature ladies don’t want their brand to say “old lady.”
Hopefully, she will shop for some casual clothes that don’t look like she retrieved them from the dirty clothes basket. I would be so happy if she stepped it up a little.

It is product placement, Kristen and Chanel know she will be photographed. It’s a 5K Chanel bag. She’s not Chanel per se, but she’s doing the Texas line. I wonder how the Texas socialites feel about that?

I agree – it looks like she borrowed her mom’s purse to wear with some outfit at another time. She doesn’t strike me as a shopper. She looks exactly the same every day of her non-red carpet life.
Since she’s Harvey Weinstein’s “kind of girl” now, you can check off the scandalous requirement, Kaiser. Someone’s really put in a lot of time and effort in an attempt to reboot her career and image.
If someone’s put in a lot of time to reboot her image, they don’t appear to be doing much. She looks exactly how she’s always looked, she’s doing indies just like she did before Twilight and I thought she’d been associated with Chanel for a while? Unless I’ve missed something, she seems the same as she’s always been.
She doesn’t have such a pissy look on her face all the time, and is making an effort not to seem like a grumpy, DEEP poseur in all her interviews. I’ve actually enjoyed the last few that she’s done–she actually seemed like she wanted to be there.
But she needs this, because I think that the hate that she got for the Mini-coopering was so unfair (given that everyone/media was focusing just on her)–but any sympathy I had dried up after she gave an interview for BD P.2, when the interviewer asked her if she and Rob were back together, and she laughed and said she ‘likes to keep everyone guessing’…yeah, not a good idea.

As far as that quip back when Twilight promotions were going on…yeah, I agree that was stupid. But I remember she had been ripped apart for simply ignoring another person who had asked a similar question and the media was being insane at that point…so I think she was attempting to be “droll” and side-step the question…which kind of backfired. At the time, it also seemed like she was barely holding it together and was kind of a wreck with everything that was going on. That’s where media training would have been useful.
Now that she’s 23…I don’t know so much if it’s a conscious change (although I do believe she’s had a bit of media training) as much as she simply grew up and that she feels way more comfortable now that the Twilight pressure and tabloid spotlight is gone. Anyway, many people tend to mature once they get out of the 18-22 age range (myself included). Some of the stuff I used to say in college would make me cringe now that I’m in my mid 20s. She just seems way happier and more put together (both in her style and her interviews).
She needs to do an interesting film, STAT or her career as an actress is going to keep doing the slow sliiiiiide toward tabloid-only queen a la LeeAnn Rimes and LiLo.
She’s filming 3 movies this year and has two coming out this year. So she’s fine.
She doesn’t seem like the type who wants to be famous for being famous so I doubt she’d ever be a “tabloid-only queen”. She probably made more money she’ll ever need from Twighlight, I think she’s a lot smarter than people give her credit for.
She’s barely or never in the tabloids anymore, and she’s working steadily in the indie world.

People are still on that crazy Riley Keough/Pattinson rumor? Both Riley and Lisa Marie denied it, and Kristen continued to hang out with Riley (who was hanging with Pettyfer again, ugh). The whole rumor was based on some crazy stan seeing a blurry picture of him in a car with a redhead, and deduced that it had to be Riley Keough. Apparently, she’s the only redhead in the state of California.
Didn’t Lisa Marie even say that Kristen and Riley were like best friends? Probably one of the few fan bases which actually fed the tabloids ridiculous ideas to run with….Oh, the notorious stans and anti-stans from the former Twilight fandom…they seem to have finally calmed down for the most part. Good thing is that Riley and Alex Pettyfer are over, there were some pics of her on Just Jared with a new guy. Kind of sad for Alex though, because I believe the Scientology hooks are deep into him…Riley and Lisa Marie left the church, and right after he was seen with Riley he was papped with Connor Cruise…which makes me “gossip guess” that his hardcore Scientology may have played a part in their break up.
I like Kristen, but Chanel is a weird fit. Balenciaga under Nicolas G. made sense a little bit, because at least it was a little more “strange” and “avant-garde” and she and Nicolas are close. Kristen would actually fit Marc Jacobs better than Miley Cyrus, imo. It’s kind of like Rooney Mara, who I like and I can appreciate her off-beat style…but she seems like an odd fit for Calvin Klein.
