I think the article is simply outragous and whoever believes such crap is extremely gullible. It’s so obvious – Madonna’s preocupied with her phisical appearance; her daughter, on the other hand, is too young to start thinking about getting pretty (though kids are much more mature these days) and than wham! Madonna’s jealous of her daughter’s beauty.

I’m not a fan of Madonna’s, in fact I’d wish she grew older more gracefully – but not in terms of phisical appearance: in musical terms – she’s not come out with anything up to her potential since Ray of light.

However, from the few interviews and documentaries I’ve seen, she seems like a very strong, positive and intelligent woman, who would raise her children with a lot of care, especially judging from the fact that she was deeply affected by the lost of her own mother.

To say that she’s jealous of her own daughter? Who in the right mind would? I mean, if she’s to be jealous, there’s a ton of competition out there, her daughter is the last person she’s gonna be concerned about. On the contrary, she’s always been an advocate for personal style and “not-caring-about-what-others-say” so I’m sure she wouldn’t want her daughter to feel compelled to “doll up” at age 11 because she’s in the media attention.

And what’s all the yapping about growing old gracefully? What does that even mean?? My god, wouldn’t it be great if we’d be all as fit (and probaly healthy) when we’re 50? I think many don’t realise what an achievement that is. She’s a fantastic role-model. I know 30 year olds who look 70 compared to her. And btw, she’s actually heavily working out to be that way, on the contrary to becoming some plastic surgery monster.

I cant wait for mini-madonna to come of age so we can see her see through underwear and watch her turn into a sl*t monger like her mother. Comming of age in this world means 16 so we dont have that long to wait. Hurry up! By the way who is that junkie looking guy she is with in that pic?

I remeber once my mother saying “I do not like madonna, but her little girl is beautiful”, this is when Lordes was three or four, we knew than she would grow up to be beautiful. Lordes is the spitting image of her mother (she has her fathers coloring) and it has seemed to me (not that I know them) that they are close. Madonna is just being a, well, MOTHER!!

Woe, such mean spirted responses all around! I am 50 years old, long blonde and beautiful only by virtue of the fact that about 30 years ago I knew the age card would be tossed into play sooner or later.
Face it, girls are girls, inexperienced, fresh, compelling in a very attractive, superfical way. If a guy wants a girl OK.. But the differences between a girl and a woman are very layered and dementional.
Considering the complexities of maternal relationships, the instinct of protection and caring.. perhaps we can agree the answer is oversimplistic to say a mother is jelous of a pubesent daughter. Perhaps consider how a child admires and seeks attention of the mother for reinforcement and approval. And often emulates the behaviors taught by the mother once the child matures.

In my opinion, I think that Madonna
may have experienced more and more
trouble trying to get her daughter
to willingly return back to London,
once she entered into the warmth and
relaxed atmosphere of her real father’s home. Her American relatives
probably shower her with all of the love and accpetance that she could ever possible want…but we never hear, see, or are informed about them.

I will bet that they are marvelous people, and this may be the true reason that Madonna may have been rather forced to leave jolly old England behind.

I think that Madonna’s daughter has reached the age, where she can choose
Daddy’s home, over mother’s home.

Haaaaaa haaaa ha.

i agree with CB Rawks.
when you’re a kid, it’s easy to feel insecure. this kid is in the public eye like no typical kid is.

it would be loving if Madonna could put herself in her daughter’s shoes and know how it feels to have eyebrows or anything else calling lots of media attention to her in a negative light.

if it’s true that Madonna withholds a little help in that direction, then yes — i think Madonna must be the same selfish, self-absorbed, self-serving egomaniac she ever was AND DOESN”T DESERVE TO BE ANYONE’S MOTHER.

she has no love — not even for her own flesh and blood. not very spiritual of her.

Actually Kashew, it can happen that way. My mother and sister both really resented me and kept shooting daggers at me (eye daggers not pointy daggers) when I lost a couple of dress sizes.
But then I’m sure most families are a lot more supportive and proud and affectionate than mine has ever been.

Her eyebrows used to meet in the middle, so she has had that part fixed, which is excellent.
I know when I was 12, if there was something weird like that going on, you definitely wanted to change it! I agree with those that said the mother should help the child in that sort of situation. That’s not the same as getting all *tarted-up*.

you know, how could someone suggest that someone would be jealous of their child? how could we allow ourselves to stoop so low? personally, I think we should take stock of our own lives first. and i usually depend on celebitchy to reasonable, i stand corrected.
