Here are some new photos of Taylor Swift out and about in LA doing various things with her new bob haircut. She debuted the cut several days ago on her Instagram, and now she’s showing it off in many photo-ops around town. I don’t hate the new hair. I prefer Swifty with either straight and sleek long hair or a wavy/curly mess, but my least favorite for her is any style which includes thick bangs. And that’s not (just) about my usual bangs-revulsion. Bangs on Swifty make her eyes look even more hooded and she just looks extra “scheming”. La Villainess Swifty!
Anyway, I wanted to tell you about this absolutely hilarious Swifty story in this week’s In Touch. In Touch claims that “Taylor Swift Breaks Her Own Dating Rules” and then goes on to point out of all of the rules Swifty claims are her hard-and-fast love lessons and how she’s always broken those rules. It’s pretty funny. Some highlights:
*A source says that Swifty “LIKES to play games” contrary to her “no games” talk. “She does weird things that make guys uncomfortable and turn them off. Even worse, every guy knows that if he goes out with her, she’s eventually going to write an insulting breakup song about him.”
*Swifty always advises against being too “clingy”… but when she was dating Jake Gyllenhaal, she ditched her family to join Jake’s family for Thanksgiving after only a few weeks of dating.
*Swifty advises to let guys be the pursuers… but then she went after Conor Kennedy by befriending his grandmother and buying a compound adjacent to the Kennedy compound.
*Swifty advises to not be jealous… then she trash-talks her ex’s new girlfriend in a song. Joe Jonas, Camilla Belle. Etc.
*Swifty advises to never let the dude become your whole world… but that’s exactly what she did with John Mayer.
*Swifty advises to stay away from bad boys… then she fell for Harry Styles.
*Swifty advises to find an upstanding guy… but then complains about “wearing the pants” in the relationship and ends up dumping him (Taylor Lautner).
Now, is this all definitive proof that Swifty is full of it? No. It’s only proof that she’s still a young woman and young women are often full of it, especially when it’s about boys. It’s easy to talk a big game about love and all, but Swifty’s a mess. I think it’s a good sign that she hasn’t real-estate stalked anyone recently. That we know of.

No, she’s not. She’s incredibly slittty-eyed, rat-faced, buck-toothed, and not even close to pretty enough to have that little hair. She also needs to gain a few pounds. Her legs in the top picture make me cringe.

Somewhere between the Strawberry Shortcake lipstick, the visible sternum and the ballet ensemble, I’m just not seeing the beauty today.
Didn’t she make the comments about what a bad idea those things were after she dated the relevant guy? That doesn’t equal breaking the rules in my book if you haven’t even made the rule yet.
I really like her hair. Mainly I like that she cut it. She’s a lot more willing to change and experiment than she’s given credit for. Probably because the hair cut didn’t involve a drastic dye job and full style change. And OMG those red boots! I want so much. She can keep the tan heels.
She’s made these comments both before and after dating various guys. She broke her rules at different times.
It usually seems to go she’s jilted by one guy…declares rule…breaks new rule with new guy.
Damned glad I broke my own dating rules or I’d never be married to my husband.
Lawd, I find Swifty RME-worthy at times but I do think the “real estate” stalking thing got way over-blown. She is crazy rich and owns several pieces of property. She obviously digs the east coast beach areas (has a home in Rhode Island) and could have just fallen in love with Cape Cod. It’s not like she has a habit of repeatedly buying houses near boyfriends.
Anyway, I’m not a fan of hers in particular but I’ve always been impressed by her business acumen. It’s probably good for her to be single for awhile anyway…the whole thing about her love life was getting way too much tabloid over-exposure (the tabs were definitely sexist but she played into it by constantly talking about her songs being about exs and love) and the general public was getting sick of it. By being single for a while, the focus has come back to her and her work more than who she was dating.

Yeah, but if she’s crazy rich, why would she go through all of the trouble of buying a house near the Kennedys just to flip it for a paltry million dollars? If you have an insane pile of cash, you invest to make more piles of cash, not just another mill.
She was making a big play for Kennedy attention back then, blabbering on about how she read the 8 or 900 page Kennedy biography, gushing about their greatness, dressing preppy, writing the song about them, etc. Her fantasy of being a Kennedy fembot ended with the gatecrashing of the wedding and the subsequent teen breakup. That’s why she sold that house.

Is that a ballet outfit?! Tay Tay is not known for her smooth dance moves… Good on her! Anyway, I love Taylor, I love that she is a young hot contradictory mess. I think back when I was 23-24 and shiver. She is just making all her mistakes in the public eye and I like that she doesn’t apologize for it. She is the President and CEO of Taylor Swift, Inc. don’t think for a second that she doesn’t know exactly what she is doing.
I like the new hair it makes her look slightly cooler 😉 She should ditch the eyeliner, she looks much better with less eye make-up.

She’s young. If the only rules she ever breaks are her own dating rules, then she’s the most responsible young adult in entertainment.

I think she’s awesome, not a great fan of most of her music but I enjoyed RED… like the haircut.
And i think yes she made several choices that backfired , sorta, by writing songs about her very well known boyfriends but then again, here goes Katy Perry and basically any other singer that has a bad breakup and tries to do solid promo for their new albums because “it will contain lyrics about their heartbreak”.

I know that made me spit take. Harry Styles couldn’t be bad if he tried. Other than that she needs to just date, keep it light, and stop making every dude into a dang song. It’s not cute anymore and people are going to keep making fun of her for it. She seems to be pretty business savy so she obviously isn’t dumb.
If she were working in an office she’d be one of those who plays games to make things difficult – just because she can and seems to have a lousy attitude towards men. Who would knowingly want to date a manipulative game player?
agree with most of this but… some of it is just c’mon. yes, the bangs are bad. she needs to ditch the eyeliner sometimes, too. but IMO she’s gorgeous and has a great figure.
what i take issue with: i think she was already dating conor when he introduced her to his grandmother and they became acquainted. ethel went on record to say she was lovely – that woman is someone i respect and is very intelligent, i can’t imagine she was fangirling some stalker rather than complimenting her grandsons girlfriend she spent a decent amount of time with. if nothing else, give ethel more credit.
harry styles the front man for a boy band is not a bad boy. who knows why she and taylor lautner broke up – they were both really, really young… of course they broke up.
and also i don’t think she invited herself to that family thanksgiving dinner so i’m not sure how going to a family event with a guy you’re smitten with and thrilled to be included in makes you clingy.
Her hair is so thin! She definitely wore extensions during the first several years of her career, that’s for sure. Guess all those long blonde curls weren’t hers after all.
Plus, she is getting scary thin.
Taylor has an awesome wig game- almost as good as GaGa’s I’d venture.
I daresay, this might have bee her real hair all along? I know if I were a celebrity, I’d wear wigs constantly. All that hot lighting and styling and dyeing is far too damaging.
I generally think Swifty is an entitled little brat.. But I can’t really fault her for this, she’s young and she’s learning. I’m 28 and just starting to find out what I really want. I know during my twenties I have repeatedly broken my own “dating rules”, and had to learn the hard way why I made them in the first place.
I don’t care for Taylor Swift but dang, some of y’all harsh. Miley is waaaaay worse and some how she’s “standing up for feminism” according to some people while Taylor Swift dating and writing bad break up candy country is setting vaginas back to the dark ages. What?
I’m not in love with her singing, actually, but I do admire that she’s tasteful and doesn’t dress in sleazy-looking clothing. She’s at least a good role model for young women rather than the over the top highly-sexualized variety we see. So I have to give her that, but whatever her problem with men is, I just don’t know. Something isn’t working and it doesn’t take very long for the split to take place. Of course, with John Mayer, I could certainly understand, but there have been a few other guys that have fairly good reputations, right? However, it doesn’t make her a bad person, just unlucky in love. She’s still very young, she now has money and fame, and a lot more time to experiment with dating and finding herself.
I have some personal “Rules Of ______” lists. Guess how I figured them out?
By DOING those things and realizing that they were a really bad idea.
It’s how you learn, folks. Bringing up mistakes Swifty made 6 years ago? Of COURSE they’re going to feature on her lists of what not to do. It means she learns through trial and error, just like the rest of us.
I still break my own rules sometimes… And live to regret it :/
