We never covered Kendall Jenner’s big debut at last week’s New York fashion week. She did the Marc Jacobs show and walked the catwalk in a completely sheer top … and jodphurs. I read a few jokes about Kris Jenner possibly paying off Jacobs to get Kendall in this show, but I doubt that happened. Kendall has the slinky figure of a catwalk model, and we already know Jacobs has questionable taste in models. Kendall was probably hired straight out and paid like any other runway girl. She’s already at London fashion week too. I’ve seen photos of her as a spectator, and who knows? We could see her on the runway there before the week is over.
What I really wanted to talk about today is Kendall’s new shoot for US Vogue. Granted, she’s not in the magazine yet, but she did a shoot for their website. I find this shoot really funny. Not because it features Kendall “shooting selfies” while wearing her favorite NYFW clothes. I think it’s hilarious because Kanye West has been pushing Anna Wintour to put Kim Kardashian in Vogue, and Kim’s little sister got there before she did. Vogue has gone downmarket by featuring a member of the Kardashian Klan, but it could be much worse.
Kendall’s shoot is actually a tribute to the selfie generation. She talked to Vogue about how Rob talked her into downloading Instagram, and the rest is history. Vogue does speculate that Jacobs could have hired her as “a publicity stunt” but also asks, “Does it even matter? She walked the Marc Jacobs show.” Exactly. Kendall does look good here except for the questionable wigs. One of them looks like a Kris Jenner wig. See? Kris is the root of all evil.

Heh, yes, and hell hath no fury like Kanye scorned. Kendall has a leg up because her last name ISN’T Kardashian (synonymous with “cheap,” “venal” and “stupid”) and because she’s thin and tall. PMK must be in raptures: her new moneymaker! And Kanye must be gnashing his teeth in fury because he now realizes he should have waited for Kendall to be legal and then HIS GIRL WOULD HAVE GOTTEN SOME RESPECT YO.

Kendall’s runway walk is horrible. Her face and body looked great but my god her walk was atrocious, it looked like an amateur from the first episode of America’s Next Top Model. She definitely wasn’t ready to do fashion week yet, it was cringeworthy.
I think she was uncomfortable with her boobs showing. Khloe can defend her sister all she wants it was quite obvious she was nervous as hell and couldn’t wait to get off the catwalk. Dreamjob?
Her walk needs work which isn’t so hard. It’s not a ’10 000 hours of practice’ thing 🙂
That’s the least of her problems. Her body is the only thing that’s on point for high fashion. Her face is gorgeous but not model material. Like Selena Gomez is gorgeous but you wouldn’t view her as a super model. She has a baby face, weak bone structure and nothing else that stands out to compensate those weaknesses. They’re Miranda Kerrs and Heidi Klums, commercially pretty but not high fashion special like Kate Moss.
I cannot hate her, she seems the most down to earth of the shifty bunch. But poor Kim- hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Im more towards liking her because she is trying to build a legitimate career for herself. It isn’t blue collar labor but modeling isn’t easy work. I’m pro Kendall, she can’t help the family she is born into. I really hope she gets her strut down.

With all the models in the world Vogue chose Kendall? I can so see Kanye ranting about this and big sis Kim being majorly pissed off. I don’t like the clothes and I don’t think she is the best model she blends in too much and yes her walk is just awful. Makes you wonder even more about her being hired for such a professional runway show.
Because choosing Kendall guarantees wider publicity for the event and the magazine. So her deficiencies as a model won’t matter until the tabloids lose interest in everything Kardashian.
Kind of sad, she must know this. She sees how the other models operate and must have some idea that she isn’t at their level yet. Will she ever be? Is she really working at building up her skills? Her older sisters don’t seem to do so, none of them seem to even know how to stand properly. And Khloe was so unprepared for the tv opportunity she had. They all seem to just slide through even though they could afford plenty of training.

Yes, it does matter if MJ hired her as a publicity stunt. Marc hasn’t been up to par for a few years. He parties too much, is all about ME, wanting the celeb life more than working.
So if he hired her, and she walked — does it matter? Well she did the job she was paid to do but yes, it does matter Marc has to resort to these tactics. He will be joining his friend Rachel soon, they can party together when they are no longer working.
oh come on folks. we all know jacobs is a notorious drama queen. she’s definitely there for publicity. dating harry styles, the “heart breaker” of one direction + boobs out + kardashian sister= all the publicity you need for a life time. when was the last time mainstream media reported about a marc jacobs fashion show? that’s what im saying.
her walk? dear god. needs a lot of work. and wow, i like high fashion models with faces you rember, not sisters who bared their lady bits to the world, thanks very much. the whole vogue website thing actually baffled me, actually. i mean, they probably didn’t put her in as a model, more as a celebrity and it’s upsetting because there are so many girls whose entire being screams “high fashion”, yet here’s kendall jenner, who belongs on the cover of 17 magazine or cosmo. dont get ge wrong; she’s really pretty and she can try all she wants but she’ll be forever known as the little sister of kim kardashian. i’m just kind of disappointed that vogue of all the magazines publishes her.

+1! Kendell is a beauty I don’t like her family but she has potential. I think she could get away with doing sports illustrated and replace that catfish face chrissy. I also think she could in time pull of the victoria’s secret runway show. Models aren’t like they were in the 90s :(. If she did something like move to Italy to completely distance herself from that family of hers, I can see her making a few moves in the fashion industry. She’s got the height and her california girl looks make her a good blank canvas for certain designers. Now Kim, lol…lol…could NEVER EVER model anything on a runway. I wish she had been on ANTM. She’s got the perfect size/shape/facial structure, but girl cannot pose to save her life. If she wasn’t part of the kardashian circus, I doubt she’d have made it this far as a model. To me she’s more of a catalogue model type than high fashion.

I remember when Marc Jacobs was on the cutting edge of everything that was cool about fashion. He took Louis Vuitton from stodgy old brand to something fresh and covetable. His collaborations were genius. He is so completely out of touch at this point that he wouldn’t know cool or fresh if it hit him direct in the face. So disappointing. He’s got talent…time to knuckle down and figure out where it went.
And of course Kendall was for publicity – she wasn’t anywhere near ready to walk for a top designer at NYFW. If PMK actually wanted her to have a real career as a model, she would have started Kendall walking for cutting edge smaller houses and let her learn her job while being associated with up and coming designers. Kendall may be serious about being a model, but PMK isn’t. And Marc J….*shakes head*….so disappointing.
