Dean McDermott told Tori Spelling she needs rehab for her spending habits

Tori Spelling

I’m going to start this post off by admitting that no one really knows what’s going on with Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, but there’s a good chance they’re faking all of it. Up until last year, I liked Tori and admired her work ethic. She made something out of herself beyond being “Aaron Spelling’s daughter.” Maybe reality television isn’t everyone’s cuppa, but Tori carved out a respectable career of her own and sold a few bestselling books to supplement her earnings.

Then came the show cancellations, and Tori grew desperate. She and Dean McDermott spent so much money on real estate and luxury vacations that they couldn’t afford his vasectomy. Dean may have cheated on Tori, but I don’t see him as some huge ladies’ man. The tabloids (read: Tori’s camp) would have us believe that Dean is a sex addict who has cheated for years. Big Bad Dean has accused Tori of caring about their children more than sex, but who could blame her? Given that Dean is a big cheater, it’s easy to believe that Tori might be repulsed by the mere thought of doing her husband. (Celebrities … they’re just like us!)

What I’m trying to say is this — all of the drama in Tori and Dean’s marriage could be for show, but Dean has completed his “rehab” stint. Us Weekly has exclusive photos of Dean returning to the marital home and carrying car seats around like a good man. Radar Online adds a new wrinkle to the equation — Dean thinks Tori needs rehab too. Rehab for her spending habits. Is that a thing?

Dean McDermott was spotted for the first time on Monday outside of his family’s Los Angeles home, exactly 30 days after he checked into rehab for the “mistakes” he made, the “pain” he’d caused his loves ones and so that he could “become the husband and father my family deserves.”

His first port of call, RadarOnline.com has learned: The father-of-five has told his wife Tori Spelling that she needs to seek help for her out of control spending!

Revealed a source: “Dean has told Tori she needs to get treatment for her spending, which is putting added pressure on the family. Tori’s spending is out of control… She will go through periods when it’s not an issue, but then she slips and buys stuff the family simply doesn’t need.

“There are nights that Dean doesn’t sleep because he is so concerned about how they are going to pay the bills. Tori is willing to get help, but complains she doesn’t have time because of their four kids.”

As Radar previously reported, Spelling and McDermott’s seven-year marriage was rocked by allegations that McDermott cheated with a woman named Emily Goodhand, who had claimed she had sex with the actor during a two-day romp at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

Spelling confided to pals that if she were to divorce love rat Dean, she would go broke.

Said another insider: “She would definitely kick Dean to the curb if she could financially afford to do so… Tori has admitted she would file for divorce from Dean, but she is afraid she would go broke.

“The couple has no prenuptial agreement and Tori is the sole breadwinner. Dean wouldn’t settle for anything less than joint custody and Tori would be forced to pay him spousal and child support. It’s a really sad situation for Tori and the kids.”

Spelling, 40, has a net worth that has been the subject of much debate with some reports placing it as high as $300 million, while others have suggested she is broke and the treasure chest has evaporated to as low as $1.5 million.

Ha. This fits the storyline just perfectly, doesn’t it? We can choose to believe that Dean’s recovery leads to a natural progression where Tori is pushed to confront her own addictions. OR we can believe that Dean is an entitled tool that thinks he’s so much better than Tori now that he’s gotten “help.” Mind you, this is help that Tori has paid for Dean to receive.

Just for kicks, here’s a new picture of a rental truck outside of the new $10,000 per month rental home where Tori has been living with her four children. The truck presumably contains Dean’s belongings. The home has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a couple of living rooms, and an in-ground swimming pool. It seems a little excessive for a couple with money problems, right?

Wow 1.5 mil is broke. How out of touch.

  2. Chrissy says:

Dean McDermott needs to STFU. I’m sure he’s not been contributing much to their household.

    • Lilo says:

She earns the money, she gets to spend it. Usually I believe in sharing and not keeping count, but in this case…did he ever contribute? Her money made his life quite comfortable, time to stfu.

    • Candy love says:

I disagree to a point. A stay at mom may not contribute much to their household money wise bit it dose mean that the person who is should spend the money as they please. From what I’ve read Tori has storage units full of stuff.

Having said all that I think this is a nother BS story but out by Tori and Dean to get attention. That new house alone proves that they are liers who will say anything to get attention.

  3. Sayrah says:

$10k a month for rent and broke?

  4. aims says:

Her idea of broke and being actually broke don’t really jive. Here’s my take on this; they’re not going to break up. There better together then apart. I do think tori is a shrewd business women and a divorce would be to costly. In a few months time we’ll see them on People magazine talking about how saga strong their love is.

Ok, say I believe ANY of this is legit and not the result of fame whoring, that sloth McDumbitt is the last person who should be talking about anyone going to rehab.

Furthermore, REHAB for everything in life. Here’s MY FREE advice that is pretty straight forward and simple: Cut up the credit cards, cancel the accounts and get a financial advisor to sort out your debt and do a budget for you since obviously grown adults do nit have the ability to do anything themselves other than depend on others to fix their problems.

Trust me when I say, IF Tori would dump his leaching ass, Mama Spelling would take care of Tori and the kiddos very well. That lady is not about to help the man she and her husband loathed, but if Tori would cut loose that bum life might be different.

Tori and Dean, imo, are attention whoring reality show addicts who want to be perpetually in the spotlight even uf the spotlight paints them as sex addicts and irresponsible spend thrifts. Well done morons! Well done.

  6. Susie says:

Yes she does and she needs to start with her biggest expense which would be him, kick him to the curb and then he wont have to worry how she spends HER money.

Materialism is a disease. It’s a sad state of affairs when a person truly believes that more and more things will make them happy.
I come from a family with a very large range of income. My sisters and I grew up lower middle class and our teenage years were carefree, we didn’t pay much mind to what brand of shoes was on our feet or things like that. We grew as people and thrived.
My cousins whose parents brought in millions per year had teenage years that were riddled with anxiety, always trying to “keep up” with peers and dealing with scrutinization of their belongings. They were obsessed with “stuff” and did not grow as people until they were adults. It was sad to watch and they went through turmoil.
The whole experience made me realize that having money does not make you happy, in fact it can remove you from real happiness by making you rely on material to make you happy, which won’t happen.
That was long! Sorry it just makes me so sad the way this country strives for money just for the sake of having more things. Yes you need enough money to be secure but the sunset is free and the truly rich people are the ones who let the sunset make them happy.

  8. Babette says:

Tori clearly has money for the medical procedures she feels are important to her, like plastic surgery for example. I would guess the “too poor for a vasectomy” sTori is simply a clever ploy to avoid having sex with her bloated pig of a husband. Well played Tori, well played!
And who goes to rehab for a month and needs a rental truck to bring his stuff back home? Did they let him bring his porn collection to sex rehab? This is Hollywood poor.

  9. Candy love says:

I don’t see Tori make something out of herself beyond being “Aaron Spelling’s daughter.” Her reality is about her life being Tori SPELLING same with her books. She still cashing in on being Aaron Spelling’s daughter.

  10. Tracy says:

Tori and LeAnn both ended up with a real prize for a husband. Well deserved, ladies.

  11. Dap says:

The headline made me laught. If those two go on, they have the potential to be as ridiculous as Leanne/Brandy/Eddy

  12. Neffie says:

Wow i would like to be that kinda ‘broke’

  13. serena says:

I believe Tori’s addiction.. she really needs to controll herself. No money for a vasectomy but then you go on a luxury vacation? It seems to me that her priorities are in the wrong place.

  14. Tulip Garden says:

This couple and any like them don’t have MONEY problems, they have LIFESTYLE problems! No pity.

    • Meredith says:

agreed. my hubs and i are in serious debt right now because we didnt downsize our lifestyle when i lost my 70k a year job only to move to a job that makes 9.00 an hour after 8 months of unemployment. We now have 10k in credit card debt plus student loans and are having to downsize from a 4 bedroom home to a 1 bedroom apartment and sell a car just to be able to make the minimum payments anymore. Tori needs to find a home that is less than 10k a month if she’s serious about paying off her debt OR meet mama Candy’s demands for a bail out (whatever they are).

and Dean, STFU with your wandering dong. you are lucky tori is conflicted about ending a marriage with 4 kids. if they had no kids you bet he’d be out the door already.

      • Tulip Garden says:

I’m sorry to hear about your financial problems but it is heartening to see that you are trying to deal with it in a responsible, adult manner. I wish you all the luck in the world in eventually reaching a better financial position. In today’s economy many people are finding themselves in similar financial straits. What bothers me is when they still get the nails done every week, carry the new designer bags, and refuse to adjust their lifestyle to their new circumstances and still want pity. I ran into this situation last weekend. The lady was HOT under the collar about her financial situation and upset that not everyone was responding as she thought she deserved.

  15. roxy750 says:

Sad, wish they would just focus on being mom and dad and family—for the kids. Everything else should come last. But I guess this is what happens when you live in this neck of the woods. Sad is all. Precious kids

  16. Zorbitor says:

“carrying car seats around like a good man” ~ comedy gold

  17. dizzylucy says:

Considering how little he’s work during their marriage, I find it funny and gross that he’d whine about her spending. Especially after getting caught messing around. Though I could see it all being fake (who would want to hook up with him?)
They do need to get their act together and be responsible with money though.

  18. the original bellaluna says:

It’s called “an accountant.” Look it up and get one.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Right? Must we go to rehab for every single thing? I know some people honestly have behavior/money issues, but do you need to check into a facility? Maybe just hire an accountant and see a therapist.

  19. Size Does Matter says:

I think all of these recent stories are BS designed to give Tori and Dean a new angle to market. Next she will write a new book about her vicTORI over adversity or learning to budgeTORI. Mark my words.

  20. Ginger says:

The only group I know if for spending is debters anonymous.
