Lily Allen googled herself to find how she got home after drunken blackout

Last June, Lily Allen got so drunk at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards that she had to be carried out. The 23 year-old singer has admitted that she had a drunken blackout at the time and isn’t aware of what happened that night. In order to figure out how she got home, she googled herself to see the embarrassing pictures:

Lily Allen has admitted using Google to trace her own steps
Singer Lily Allen once ‘Googled herself’ to find out how she got home from a night out after she passed out drunk.

The 23-year-old, who has a reputation for wild partying, is currently number one in the UK singles chart with her single The Fear.

She said: “I don’t remember what happened. I woke up the next day and there was a party at my house.”

She added: “Mark Ronson, Alan Carr and Jonathan Ross had been there because Alfie [Lily's brother] had brought them back.

I’d passed out in bed and thought ‘How did I get home?
“But I’d passed out in bed and saw my Glamour award on the floor and thought, ‘How did I get home? I Googled myself.”

Lily won the Editors Special Award at the bash last year before passing out and the incident shocked her into cutting back on alcohol.

Allen lacks the kind of personal filter that is required to properly deal with the press as a celebrity and should really get some coaching in that area. She gets plenty of headlines for the ridiculous things she says and does, and that’s probably what she’s aiming for. Allen quit drinking for a few months late last year, although she’s started up again and recently admitted needing a drink to perform. That would explain why she’s getting so much press at this point, but it’s more of a chicken and egg type situation – does she drink to forget the things she says or does she talk so much crap because she’s drunk or hungover? In Lily’s case there’s no escaping it, because it’s online for posterity almost immediately afterwards. She’s making her own collective digital memories, one big misstep at a time.

She’s at No.1 in the UK charts with Fear and her new album is being given a massive thumbs up. She’s obviously doing something right.

How hard it must be to be young, rich, successful and in the public eye. She’s very good, lets hope she doesn’t take a Winehouse turn. At one point, she was good too.
