Fun Fact about Jim Crow era:

If you were a black person, and you saw a white person coming towards you on the sidewalk, you would have to get off the sidewalk and put your head down, until the SHADOW of the white person was past you i.e. you couldn’t step in their show.

And if you looked at a white woman for more than a second….Emmett Till 2.0. I love the South, but I can just imagine the shit that my older aunts and grandmother (who’s pushing eighty) had to go through…my two oldest aunts went to segregated schools in Jackson, TN.

  2. Tatjana says:

    She looks amazing.

  3. YummyMummy says:

What is wrong w her feet?

    • Melody says:

I think they’re nylon booties – keeps your feet from getting blisters, but not so glamorous when visible.

  4. Amy Tennant says:

The Brony decision was the wrong call. It’s so much easier to punish the victim. (I have a young Brony who has faced bullying, too, although I admit I tried to get him not to wear his Spike shirt to school )

    • Jana says:

I wish they wouldn’t call him a brony since he’s a child. I typically think of that term for the grown men who watch the show.

      • Amy Tennant says:

        My 10-year-old self-identifies as one

      • Amy Tennant says:

Actually my 13-year-old daughter calls herself a Brony too. To them it just means they’re “hip” and not the core audience for the cartoon

      • MonicaQ says:

I usually identify as “pega-sister” and my husband as a “brony”.

It’s a cartoon, it’s cute. I watch it and then watch Cosmos and the Almost Human. I’m not understanding the hate for it. Yes there’s creepy people on the internet that take it too far. It’s called Rule 34.

  5. Lark says:

Emma looks really nice. I feel bad for her if Noah ends up being the massive flop it seems to be, as this is an odd time in her career and she seems to be trying to not be typecast as “Hermione”

    • FLORC says:

Is there talk it might be a flop?
My husband and I saw the preview… He said it looks pretty bad with good CGI. I told him Emma Waton is a great actress and she wouldn’t be in a bad film… I hope i’m not eating my words later.

      • Lark says:

A lot of talk about it being a flop.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

It looked like a flop from when I saw the trailer. For all of it being a great story and all, it seems like just another action/war film that only distinguishes itself because it’s a biblical story. That’s it. Nothing else separates it from the pack of other unforgettable, end of the world films like that.

  6. Jana says:

Something about her hair is bothering me, but I can’t decide what it is.

    • SublimeTangerine says:

I think it looks a little K-Stewish, personally. Maybe not as gross, but that’s what it reminds me of.

      • Blackjack says:

I think Kristen Stewart has gorgeous hair. Nothing “gross” about it – where does that come from? lol In fact, I think that’s Emma’s problem, she was aiming for that beachy wave tousled sideswept that Stewart does pretty effortlessly (http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/a0/cf/b6/a0cfb6ce29ac7acb5979def588f3a2bc.jpg ), and failed. Also, that half-bang thing on the forehead that Emma’s got going on isn’t working, it looks dull (maybe that’s the mousey color) and like it couldn’t hold whatever wave/curl was put in.

      • Erinn says:

Blackjack – it comes from her hair looking generally unwashed for long periods of time. I like her hair in the photo you posted the link to, but there are MANY photos where her roots look incredibly greasy. And as someone with oily hair, there ARE way to avoid that without washing like crazy ten minutes before doing a red carpet. With her budget, she could afford some fantastic dry shampoo.

      • Blackjack says:

I really would like to obtain whatever PC monitor/laptop/desktop/tablet that enables people to see a red carpet photo, or a candid pic of a star on the street – and be able to determine the presence of grease, dirt, grime and odor. All things I have heard ascribed to Stewart, not surprisingly by people that irrationally hate her guts. No offense to you – you might love her to pieces, I’m just saying. If Stewart had a hygiene problem I doubt she’d be employable. Her hair seems finely textured, voluminous, and pretty much wash n go waves that she wears long, end of story.

That said, the people who wash their hair the MOST often have the greasiest hair. The scalp/skin becomes irritated and inflamed via the soap and produces even more sebum. So the best thing to do is not wash your hair as much.

I’ve seen lots of pics of Stewart over the last 5 years, and aside from having a low maintenance style off the red carpet, i.e., dressing in tees, jeans, converse, and baseball caps – I can honestly say I’ve never seen a greasy hair photo (I would think that would need to be incredibly close up, like the roots, and at a very high resolution) – and even THEN, there are so many products out there designed to make the hair look piecy, greasy, and to clump together (for various styles and updos) you still wouldn’t know if that was actual dirty grease from dirty hair (highly doubtful) or product. So the sneering is totally uncalled for. It’s not like she’s unpresentable, and it’s also not like she doesn’t look beautiful on her red carpets. So what’s the problem?

My sister has baby fine hair w/ a wave that resembles Stewart’s, it separates at the root and clumps together when she wears it tousled like that – you don’t comb thru it because it ruins the wave pattern. She slaps product in it in the morning to get it like that, and it stays like that for several days, in fact it starts to look better on the 2nd day after washing.

      • Aria says:

@Blackjack Kristen has nice hair when it’s washed and styled (not very common on her) . Otherwise it looks like a rat nest.

      • Blackjack says:

Let me try a much shorter reply as my previous post is still hung up:

I’ve seen Stewart in pics a LOT in the last 5 years since becoming so huge — her hair always looks healthy and great to me. She’s low maintenance for sure, most of the time just walking around, and usually has her hair under a cap, so again – how someone can tell her hair is ‘greasy and unwashed,’ (unless you know them personally) boggles the mind.

Even IF, in your eyes, you see “grease,” how do you KNOW it’s ‘grease,’ (you are implying dirt, I’m guessing?) and not product? That beachy piecy wave thing sometimes requires the hair not be freshly washed, or, if it is, the use of product to make it clump and wave – especially fine hair like Stewart’s.

Also please tell me the kind of computer monitor/brand you have that enables you to see this?

I’ve noticed a large number of people that can’t stand Stewart (and other celebs) often discussing how they are ‘dirty and smelly?’ Excuse me, but unless smellavision has come to MAC and/or PC, that’s kind of impossible to know unless you bump into them.

If Stewart or any of the other celebs that get let in for this kind of online verbal abuse were that unhygienic, my guess is they wouldn’t be working let alone being one of the highest paid actors around and getting couture designer and perfume contracts. Something to think about.

By the way, it’s been proven that the more you wash your hair, the greasier it gets – soap irritates the scalp which creates more sebum to protect itself from the soap and scrubbing. So if you think her hair is greasy, maybe you should try saying, ‘Kristen Stewart really needs to lay off having such overly clean hair!’ My guess is, you won’t. 😉

    • Erm says:

Her hair always looks off, except for when she had the pixie or it is slicked back and put in an updo. When it’s out, it generally seems a bit unkempt–it looks like they tried to restrain it with styling products but it’s on the verge of breaking free. It’s probably also because she seems to only have her natural hair, not extensions to work with. Her face is really lovely though–I wish she would go back to the pixie or keep it slicked back as that way her hair won’t distract from her face.

  7. ZsaZsa says:

Emma looks amazing but I still think she’d rather be famous for her acting and still not for wearing pretty clothes. This has always been an issue for me with her. Talent wasted.

    • Emma - the JP Lover says:

Why isn’t she famous for her acting? I haven’t read any negative comments about her acting ability. She’s young, still trying to finish college, and probably not going at acting full-tilt, I’m use she’ll eventually have the time and try to go after meatier roles. 🙂

    • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

You both have more faith in her than I do–I think she’s a horrible actress. She was the worst part of Harry Potter, and beyond that she doesn’t really add an extra ‘oomph’ to her characters—I find her bland. There’s not a film of hers that I haven’t seen where I couldn’t have said ‘Oh, no one else could’ve played that role as good as her’. Not one.

I think she’s getting the roles that she’s getting now because she was in Harry Potter and is a recognizable face.

      • Erinn says:

THIS. I don’t find her fantastic. I liked her as a person until the whole “Oh we weren’t allowed to use disposable water bottles so I couldn’t drink water” comments.

      • Blackjack says:

Yeah, the lack of criticism Watson gets is pretty hysterical, as compared to the ragestroke Kristen Stewart gives people…and we all know why for the most part, lol (see lovah Pattinson) I know a lot of people hated the angsty sullen Bella Swan but they seem to not know that was a character and a role Stewart was playing. Her indies and her performances have always been very well received by top critics, which they try to pretend didn’t happen. I don’t keep up with Watson much, but I was aware she got zinged for her purported lack of skill by many, and having recently seen a couple films she was in, I have to concur. I couldn’t imagine her doing a role like Welcome to the Rileys – Stewart’s scenes were mesmerizing, and I don’t think Watson has that, or even an Amanda Seyfried level of proficiency in her.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Well, she also bugs me, because I think she tries way too hard to be seen as the good girl who hasn’t been corrupted by HW. But other than that, she just not really all that interesting to me–I think she’s cute and that’s about it.

      • Miss Bennet says:

        @Blackjack

I don’t think Stewart is at all talented. She’s wooden and blank faced in every role. Critics and the public have pointed this out again and again over the years. This has nothing do with her role in Twilight, which was, in my opinion exactly like every other character she’s played. Criticism of Stewart’s acting has, for most of us, nothing to do with Pattinson.
I do however think Watson is a pretty good actress with a great deal of potential. See The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, she was excellent in this film. Her decision to continue her education speaks well of her self discipline and desire to improve her understanding. This can only be good for her acting.

      • Blackjack says:

Sorry Miss Bennet, but let’s not try and revise history. We all know Twilight and everyone in it has been reviled and ridiculed, including Kristen Stewart, but pretending you are unaware of the critical acclaim she had pre Twilight in her industry (with a slew of industry heavy hitters and critics praising her performances) is just you being disingenuous – your posts on message boards won’t magically wish her rep away within the industry, anymore than you NOT bringing up her critical acclaim for The Runaways, The Cakeaters, Into the Wild, Welcome to the Rileys, and Adventureland makes that disappear. I know it’s your heartfelt wish to turn Stewart into Watson or Keanu Reeves, but most people know, it’s only her haters who are set on trying to do that.

    On another note:

I’m SO glad Courtney Love is stepping in to help find the missing jet. I’ll sleep so much better now that I know she’s on the job. Perhaps after this she’ll ponder the job of POTUS… Surely that’ll be a cinch after she solves the jet issue. And who better to be the first female POTUS? None. Absolutely no one.

(I hope your snark detectors broke after reading this)

    • don't kill me i'm french says:

      LOL

    • Monkey Towz says:

Lol @ ladyslippers. What if she’s right? (She’s not), but wouldn’t it be wild if Courtney Love of all people figured this sh*t out?! I hate myself for saying this, but I would enjoy it very much!

    • littlestar says:

I’m flying with Malaysia Airlines in a few weeks, and I’m not going to lie, this missing jet is a little unnerving! Too bad Courtney Love wasn’t able to find it before my trip so I wouldn’t have to needlessly stress, lol ;).

  9. Tiffany :) says:

That is totally something I would wear.

  10. taylor says:

Between the link about the idiot from South Dakota and the poor 9yo brony who can’t use his lunchbox, I just want to go back to bed where I can pretend the a**holes of the world don’t have power at every level.

  11. Emma - the JP Lover says:

What a lovely young woman! 🙂

    She looks great!

  12. here's Wilson says:

glad I just learned what a brony is! otherwise I’d be sooo lost right now… :/ 🙂

  13. Chicagogurl says:

I really liked orphan black and can’t wait for season 2.

  14. theredone says:

    YES!!! Binge watch Orphan Black!!

    • Tiffany :) says:

I have been having so many issues trying to watch that show! I saw episodes 1 and 2 on demand…then I switched cable companies and it is no longer offered. I have netflix, but only a streaming membership and you need to have the DVD subscription to get Orphan Black.

FINALLY BBC America has started airing two episodes a week, so I can finally watch the rest of the season!

  15. Virgilia Coriolanus says:

I just binge watched two seasons of Justified–omg! Why didn’t I watch it before (I’m watching on Amazon prime)?

Timothy Olyphant is smoking hot–my mom says I can’t be looking at him, because he’s HERS. Hahaha!

But I’m looking at Walton Goggins. I can’t decide if he’s good looking or not, but at this point, I really don’t care. He is talented, and talented is sexy to me. By the end of the first season I was converted….he’s hot.

    • littlestar says:

Have you been watching the second season of Hannibal?

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

When did it start? I hadn’t even known that it was back on….how many episodes is it through?

      • littlestar says:

It started February 28th, so they are 3 episodes in. Sadly it’s on Friday nights – makes me worried cuz that’s usually where they put shows that they want to die :(.

So far the second season is just as great as the first.

    • Lucy2 says:

Yes both of those guys are attractive in totally different ways. And Justified is such a great show.
Can’t wait for Orphan Black too!

  16. Aria says:

She looks stunning but what’s going on with her feet?

  17. T.Fanty says:

Yes to Orphan Black. Season 1 was pretty good.

  18. Memme says:

She looks F$#@ING AMAZING! I can’t get enough of this outfit. I need it NOW.

  19. Shay says:

    Definitely binge watch orphan black.

  20. MonicaQ says:

For the sports people and because I’m too lazy to google:

Eric Decker just had a baby named Vivianne Rose–didn’t Tom Brady and his wife just name their new baby that last year?

  21. LAK says:

She always looks like a child playing dress up to me.

  22. Maria says:

Love the way Emma isn’t afraid to experiment, more than you can say for 90% of celebrities these days, I look forward to seeing what she wears to the events she attends.

Only things I don’t like about her outfit are the huge hair clips she wore and the fact that her eyebrows are just a shade too dark, coupled with the dark berry shade of her lipstick they darken her whole face.

Jennifer’s dress is shocking for the same premiere, blimey.

  23. Janet says:

I like her and hope this film won’t be a career-tanker because it does look pretty awful.
