I remember when Clive Owen used to get a nice paycheck for showing up to BVLGARI events every three months or so, all around the world. I guess Clive is out and Eric Bana is in these days! Bana attended some BVLGARI events in Switzerland on Friday, and he looks really angry about the whole thing. Seriously, his arms are folded in more than half the photos, and it’s like he’s glaring at the camera. Maybe we’re supposed to read it as “smoldering” which… I mean, that’s possible too. Eric Bana does “smolder” quite a bit. This is his angry-smolder. He’s about to tell you off before he bangs you.
I kind of wonder how much Bana gets paid for this kind of stuff. His career… well, I think he’s a wonderful actor who mostly sucks at picking good projects, but that may have something to do with Eric not wanting to be apart from his family in Australia all that much. So it must be nice to just drop in to Switzerland for two days and get a nice check from BVLGARI to launch their new…? Something. Oh, it’s the watch! It literally took me this long to realize that Eric is wearing a watch and that’s why he has his arm folded. Sorry, I’m having a “derp” moment.
Bana is currently the face of BVLGARI’s Man Extreme cologne too. I found the commercial – it’s weird. I guess the point is that Eric Bana eats casual danger for breakfast.
So, would you hit it? I mean… without question. Even when he looks pissy and grumpy, I still would.

I don’t think he looks grumpy. He’s one of the best actors of his generation, I’d love to see more of him on screen but yeah, maybe he’s just not into being so present.

No I didn’t hear about it but thanks for letting me know. I will be on the lookout for it. At one time I thought he was going to be the next big breakout star but his resume seemed to be geared towards smaller films. But perhaps that’s the way he wants it. Not every actor is trying to be the next Deniro, Cruise, Pitt or Cloney.
I’ve read that he has a strict rule (with the exception of 2009, when he was in everything) of only doing one film per year, so he isn’t away from home too much, and, when he does do a movie, he tries to arrange the shooting for when the kids are off school, so his family can join him. Given those conditions, it’s easy to imagine that a lot of great roles slip through his hands. However, he’s obviously a guy who has his priorities straight. I think if there’s one actor who is faithful to his wife, it’s this guy.
I understand that he wants to be with his family, but I very much would like to see more of him. He’s really flying under the radar filmwise, which is probably what he wants.

I just seen him in Hanna (such an underrated film btw!) and he looks really really good there. He rocks a suit. Being all badass and kicking the crap out of people.

I liked Hanna. Looking at it in a ‘realistic’ way, it’s not believable, but it’s a good enough movie that I didn’t care about that sort of thing.
Hanna was absolutely fantastic. Knew nothing about the film when we started it and was so pleasantly surprised how great it was.

As an Aussie, I’m really proud of this guy. I remember growing up watching him on comedy sketch shows [Full Frontal, etc] and never thought he’d break out and be a Hollywood success, and not only that, he isn’t an asshole, and he is a loyal husband and dedicated father who hasn’t let Hollywood seduce him to compromise his values.
