Charlie Sheen settles lawsuit with woman who says she’s the real “Rose”

Charlie Sheen has settled a lawsuit against him by a woman who claims the wacky neighbor and sometimes stalker Rose on his popular “Two and a Half Men” show on CBS was based on her.

Ursula Auburn sued Sheen in April 2006, claiming the “wacky neighbor and female stalker Rose” on the show was based on her. The way Rose talks, dresses and looks all resemble Auburn, the lawsuit claimed. Sheen never sought Auburn’s permission, according to the suit.

The suit was settled March 14, according to Superior Court documents, which do not disclose more details.

The lawsuit claimed there were numerous situations on the show involving Rose and Sheen’s character, Charlie Harper, that resembled experiences Auburn had with the actor.

That included an episode where Rose creates a Web site detailing Harper’s womanizing ways, according to the lawsuit. In real life, Auburn created a web site detailing her relationship with Sheen.

I used to think that show was asanine, and it’s hackneyed and seems lame, but it’s one of the few shows we get here simulcast in English and it’s actually grown on me. I saw that episode where Rose creates a website for women to vent about their experiences with Charlie and it was kind of cute. She warned a new girlfriend off of him via the website and then took it down once she talked to Charlie, never admitting it was her who started the site.

If they settled the suit the woman may have had a case I guess, unless she was paid a low sum just to avoid publicity. That’s odd because even though Sheen stars in the show and is one of the highest-paid actors on television at $350,000 per episode, he’s not listed as a producer or creator of the show on IMDB. If he did influence writers to create a Rose character it must have been behind the scenes.

Update: Auburn claimed to have had sexual relations with Sheen between 1992 and 1998, and originally was suing for over $1 million. She went on Howard Stern in 1998, claiming to have slept with Jack Nicolson, Charlie Sheen, Ian Ziering and Nicolas Cage. Nicholson, she claimed, like to spank her.
