Tom Hiddleston posed with a sock monkey gift from one of his fans: adorable?

117445PCN_Crimson06

I could literally just post photos of Tom Hiddleston with no words whatsoever, and the Dragonflies would swirl and twirl and hyperventilate. So, why write anything? I don’t know. I enjoy Tommy, I guess. These are some photos of Tom from several days ago, which I never got around to publishing. You’re only getting them today because it’s kind of slow for celebrity gossip.

After filming Crimson Peak/Haunted Peak (I think a name change is underway) on Thursday night, Tommy went to speak to his fans waiting outside. He had taken off the his Edgar Allen Poe wiglet and he looked tired but kind. He signed autographs, posed for photos, and spoke to his Dragonflies. In return, a Dragonfly presented him with a sock monkey. Apparently, he kept it too. I wonder if he slept with it that night. That would be the ultimate fantasy for a Dragonfly, correct? To make a sock monkey with your own two hands and then give it to the object of your affection… and then you get to picture him sleeping with it. Naked. Of course, there could be a nanny-cam in there, but I’d like to think Tommy is too smart for that.

What else is going on in Hiddlesworld? He hasn’t been tweeting that much, and when he does, it’s just about UNICEF or Only Lovers Left Alive. Which is good, but I do miss Tommy’s tweets about nothing in particular, just observations about his day. He’s only given a handful of interviews to support OLLA, and he’s managed to discuss Shakespeare in every one. I do worry about him a little bit, but not that much. He’s a good looking English actor – he’ll always be able to find work. But it does feel like he’s in an awkward transition away from “beloved comic book villain” to “real working actor.”

    Ahem… Adorable? Dorky maybe 😉

    • Abby_J says:

      Adorkable!

    • I just finally got around to watching him as Henry V in The Hollow Crown. He can no longer do any wrong in mine eyes. He would have to bite the head off of that sock monkey, then murder someone, then pledge his love to Kim Kardashian and become a cast member on Big Brother before I would stop enjoying watching him at his craft. And even then I’d probably forgive him.

      • joe spider says:

        Did you watch Henry IV part I and II as well.

      • Tiffany says:

        Yeah. He was all kinds of awesome in that. When he was courting Katherine, I dropped my panties. And who says Shakespeare isn’t sexy.

      • Nobody would ever say Shakespeare wasn’t sexy. I am actually just finishing part II this very evening, and will be moving on to Richard II (sadly a Hiddles-free production but worthy nonetheless). I found the scenes between his Henry V and Falstaff really touching and well-acted . Looking forward to part deux.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Highlandfashionista

        No excuse me, if he pledges his love to any of the Kardashian he gets scrapped off my actors lists and my nick together… That is unforgivable!

        Never say never… See Robert Downey jr. , who was good, then bad.. Then Iron Man lol

        I still have to get my head around to buy the Hollow Crown dvds, sooner or later I will do it. They are not even expensive.

      • Intro Outro says:

        Also, i feel so lonely in not caring about Robert Downey, Jr. or Tony Stark *sniffs* I admire how RDJ managed to scrape up his life and career from that horrendous mess but.. Tony Stark irritates me so much, the arrogant bastard ;D Maybe i should check out some of his other films.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @IntroOutro

        I was a RDJ fan for many years… then he lost it, completely. Many, including me, were thinking he was going to die, no jokes.
        What about Sherlock H. movies?

        I think he is the only one who can speak faster than Tom Lol

      • Intro Outro says:

        I can imagine =( And associate. I was 13 and a huge Michael Jackson fan when he was accused for the first time. It was a horrible experience.

        I think i started on the first Sherlock film and somehow never finished watching it. RDJ is very charismatic and cool, but imo he basically plays himself in Sherlock and Iron Man. And receives veeery nice paychecks for that 😉

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Intro Outro

        I don’t think he plays himself because he likes to play himself (well getting paychecks to play yourself must be nice btw!). He came out from obscurity in Iron Man and now people and producers associate him with that character.
        I’ve seen RDJ in many old movies and characters and he totally disappears in them. In my opinion, he has that range but he is not ‘sellable’ out of his IronM/Sherlock clichè.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Hiddles forever:

        I see what you mean, and it’s a pity =( Just yesterday read this article on Indiewire about Josh Hartnett (does anyone remember him?) http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/josh-hartnett-says-he-turned-down-superman-returns-as-well-as-playing-spider-man-and-batman-20140429?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter It’s about how he turned down Superman and Spiderman roles when he was 22, and he basically admits that it was a mistake. Always the same story, right? Go for a franchise, get famous overnight – and typecast – or choose a more difficult road but without any guarantee of success.

      • 'P'enny says:

        Josh Hartnett was up for Loki – how things turn out!

        See Tom could have gone for I am a ‘serious actoooor’ type route and struggled it out, but he grabbed that Marvel opportunity and turned it into gold. I think Josh made some big mistakes.

        But, I don’t think Tom is going to escape Loki, he is going to be forever trapped in that marvel fan-base.

        I can see Tom being similar to Patrick Stewart, Shakespearean genius actor, with a cult-geekdom following that will never go away.

      • Isadora says:

        I’m quite sure that Tom accepted the Marvel role because of Kenneth Branagh – he knew him and therefore he knew the Thor movie won’t be total bullsh*t. I’m not sure if he would have gone for Marvel without Ken. And he probably also got the part because of Ken – he was hardly known back then and I guess a LOT of people were auditioning for Loki.

        And I’m more optimistic than you, ‘p’enny – I think Tom will always be remembered as Loki but I don’t think he will be trapped. He HAS a range and people seem to be quite enthusiastic about his other roles too. After Coriolanus I heard some girls say something like: “Wow. He doesn’t need Loki hair. That was great.” I found it quite funny because it was clear they saw the Shakespeare stuff only because of “Loki”, but managed to look beyond that. Plus some people – like me and and a few others here – never were the Marvel fanbase but only saw those movies because of him.

        I think a TV series like Star Trek is much more dangerous because there are endless episodes where you see someone as the same character again and again. But Loki is/will be in 4 movies and we don’t know what happens then. And if Tom gets some very different roles now in a few movies that are not only critically acclaimed but seen by a wide audience than he will also be known for those.

        @HiddlesForever, would knowing that there is a sauna scene in Henry IV, part 2 help in your buying decision?

  3. Eve says:

    After those candids from Crimson Peak’s set — where he looked like Poe or a character from Poe’s short stories and poems — everything he does is adorable.

    That’s right: I’m back on the Hiddles train and if Crimson Peak turns out anything like I’m expecting…there will be shanking.

    • blue marie says:

      well it’s nice you’re giving a heads up.

      • Eve says:

        You’re welcome. See? I’m *that* nice.

      • Secret Squirrel says:

        Hey… You don’t get to abandon Tom to the cold depths of your disinterest only to change your mind and come back all dedicated and start shanking everyone in sight…

        *runs and hides knowing I just made the top of the shanking list*

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Secret squirrel

        Ditto!

      • Eve says:

      • Secret Squirrel says:

        Eve and Loki – A match made in heaven!

        Wouldn’t you go better with Adam (OLLA) though. Then you would be Adam and Eve, the only two people in creation (for a little while anyway!).

      • Eve says:

        No, no. I prefer Loki. It’s all in those horns, you see.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Eve

        LOL. I prefer Tom in…. in.. pfft, I’ve seen him only in Thor, I can’t choose anything else 😀

      • Hiddles Forever, his Thor is the smallest of his achievements (speaking as a nerdly actorly type). This man can read Shakespeare like nobody of his generation. seriously. Henry IV parts 1 and 2, and Henry V! iTunes! pronto!

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Highland Fashionista

        I’ve seen only videos on youtube about him reading Shakespeare and he is awesome 🙂 however I never got around to see the whole thing. That is why I wanted to buy The Hollow Crown dvds. I also would need subtitles because I only know Coriolanus, Much ado about nothing and the Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare. I am afraid I wouldn’t understand a word of what he says.

        Do you find T H. Crown on iTunes too? Need to check pronto!!!

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Hiddles forever:

        If pirated stuff is not a HUGE NO NO for you, i’d also suggest finding Coriolanus 😉

      • Isadora says:

        Coriolanus was great but I’m not sure.. does the unofficial version have subtitles? I had them at my screening and although subtitles are always distractring from the acting I was very thankful. The Hollow Crown DVDs all have subtitles and – again – they do help.

        And I thought OLLA will be out on DVD/Blu-ray today, but they seem to have pushed back the date until… JUNE?? What wicked sorcery is this?

      • kaisei says:

        @Isadora probably because OLLA will be released in 3 other countries next month.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Isadora:

        It has subs alright, just like the broadcast itself had. I know NT Live’s very firm position on not releasing their broadcasts on DVDs and i do respect it, but.. I just couldn’t help myself in this particular case *helpless laugh* My Coriolanus experience was too intense and i wanted to be able to relieve it.

        And yeah, i want my OLLA DVD! It’s so hard to wait.

      • Isadora says:

        I don’t feel too bad about Coriolanus because it’s not like I’m stealing anything that I could have had for money. I mean, I’ve seen the screening, so my money already went to NTL, but other than that it’s not like Coriolanus is ruining the industry. On the other hand I feel really bad for pirated indie movies, that’s just not fair because likely a lot of people struggled hard to make this movie and people just steal it on the net instead of buying the dvd or netflix or whatnot. And the dvds are in most cases not even that expensive – I got the Hollow Crown for 25 $ or something (for 4 dvds!) and right now The Deep Blue Sea dvd costs only 7,5 $ on amazon in my country. I think I have to order it….

      • Intro Outro says:

        I absolutely agree with you. I just remember reading some serious bickering in the Cumbercamp about that Frankenstein recording so you know.. Some people are very touchy about such things. I am not, i both buy legit DVDs and CDs and download stuff, but i try to respect the feelings of those who do not condone anything pirated ^_^

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @HiddlesForever, I found Hollow Crown on Amazon and it allows you to purchase all four plays together or the plays individually.

    • kri says:

      Hmm. Step away from the monkey, Tom. I wonder if he named it Benedict Monkeybatch.

    • LadySlippers says:

      Fine Eve, but the Batch you divorced and you are SO not getting back on that train.

      *eyes narrow*

    • Roberta says:

      *quivers*

      Btw how the hell do you do bold?

      • Eve says:

        There’s no need to quiver, babes. I’ve recently told my fellow CBitches my newest CB-husband was Joel Kinnaman — he’s my Robocock…*bam dum tsh*.

        I may get a little shanky once I’ve seen Crimson Peak because I have the feeling this is going to be awesome. If Hiddleston’s acting is part of said awesomeness, then…well…hide.

        To bold:

        http://www.w3schools.com/TAGs/tag_em.asp

      • Roberta says:

        You’ll have to wait until Oct ’15, so some time to prepare.

        Ah Eve how I’ve missed your snark, there’s only Sixer, Fanty & Miss J to keep me going in that regard.

      • Eve says:

        But they’re cool enough, non? Come on, don’t be such a whiner or I’ll tell you to go sit at the kids’ table along with Chris Evans!

        P.S.: Actually, let’s be honest here: they’re way cooler than me as they come in three…nah, I’m kidding, Sixer alone goes circles around me (in terms of coolness). But don’t tell her I told you that — unless you want the first spot on my to-shank list.

    • T.fanty says:

      Sshhhhhhh. If you listen carefully, you can hear Miss Jane sharpening her knitting needles.

      Just call me Switzerland on this one. I’ll be standing by with a bucket and mop to clean the blood off the tiles.

      • Isadora says:

        And the best thing: after they killed each other with their knitting needles/shanks, I pick up Tom while you are cleaning. *g*

      • Nighty says:

        Sorry Isadora, I’ll be picking him up… 😛

      • Lilacflowers says:

        Sorry, ladies, waiting until they are done is far too dangerous. I’ve already put him in a safe location.

      • Isadora says:

        You think your cellar is a safe location?

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @Isadora, he isn’t in the cellar. Plus, the perimeter of the house is currently being guarded by Mark Strong and Sean Bean while Colin Firth is ready to hurl crockery from the windows at any attacker.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @Isadora, and I’m not even going to mention where Idris Elba is standing guard but he’s here too.

      • Isadora says:

        Ha! I’m not afraid of Idris Elba. He didn’t even see huge ass spaceships come his way! Colin Firth hurling crockery on the other hand…

      • Lilacflowers says:

        Did I mention that I have a huge ass spaceship parked on the roof? With Chris Hemsworth at the controls?

    • Dani says:

      Supposedly the script leaked and it’s on tumblr and is the total opposite of what fans were expecting. There was a big ‘uproar’ on Friday about how some fans are disappointed he’s doing it and aren’t gonna see it based on what the supposed script was. I don’t wanna say too much as to not ruin it for anyone but if IT IS the script, it’s not at all like 50 shades. It’s not really kinky either.

      • M.A.F. says:

        I keep trying to figure what their (the film makers and maybe some of the Dragonflies) idea of “kinky” is. I normally don’t like my sexy/kinky mixed with horror mostly due to been there done that (80s horror was good enough for me).

      • Intro Outro says:

        The faceless many-headed Tumblr monster is disappointed? I’ll definitely like it then!

      • Miss Jupitero says:

        What do I need to google to find this? I want the FULL scoop and I don;t care about spoilers.

      • Janeite says:

        For those of us who do care about possible spoilers, please be careful with what you say here. Many thanks! 🙂

      • Isadora says:

        Somebody thought Crimson Peak is going to be like 50 shades? *confused* And THANK GOD it’s not like that drivel.

      • Marty says:

        @Isadora- you read my mind.

        So let me get this straight: they found out it’s nothing like 50 shades of bull**** and are DISSAPOINTED? I’m not even part of the Dragonfly club and still think they should have their memberships revoked!

      • 'p'enny says:

        OLD SCRIPT

        NO SPOILERS PEEPS

      • kaisei says:

        Miss Jupitero, I googled “Tumblr Crimson Peak script leak” and found a review and summary of the plot based on a stolen copy of the script that somebody sold. Supposedly. (I had to click on the cached page of that tumblr blog because the original post was deleted)

        Anyway, old script or not, real script or not, I don’t see the point of the outrage. It’s a horror movie not a romantic movie and even if there’s romance nobody ever said it was about Hiddleston’s character. Here’s an interview with GDT about the movie.
        http://31.media.tumblr.com/da1688bf02f855591711c7796b21fbdd/tumblr_n4jdz9tvaz1qeuzrdo1_1280.jpg

      • Katie says:

        What did they think it was?

        I’m just curious, I’ve known he wasn’t the lead/romantic hero for a while, that’s Charlie’s part. The issue with it when I read it long ago–no spoilers, don’t worry!–was some of the content (not my cup of tea) and how boring it was, all horror cliches/tropes. But that was before it went through at least 3 revisions from what’s been reported.

        What I think is a mistake is the October 2015 release date. I understand the Halloween connection, but they’re going to lose the hype and that’s become such a competitive horror movie month.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        Because some of you actually liked 50 shades of boredom? :/

        Also not worried about spoilers because I won’t see it for sure, I have been mad at Del Toro since he moved Cumbria to Toronto studios. Silly!

      • Freebunny says:

        I don’t know if what I read on tumblr is really the summary of the script, but “IF” it is, it’s pretty bad, cliché and boring.
        But I really doubt it’s the script anyway.

      • Dani says:

        I, personally, really like the script and think he’s actually going to do pretty well. BUT, I’m not a fan of 50 shades and don’t consider that kink of any sort so. I think some of the fans were expecting dark romance or something similar to Jane Eyre. There’s a popular post on tumblr you just have to search the Crimson Peak tag. Regardless, even if the script is real, I think Del Toro can be hit or miss so we have to wait and see.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @freebunny
        “But I really doubt it’s the script anyway. ”

        Gladiator’s script on set was 30 pages!!!
        The script was re-written continuously whilst actors were filming. The final script that was published afterwards was more than 120 pages.

      • Miss Jupitero says:

        Pols yo read it, and I hope to god that this script will get a huge overall because it really is a pile of cliches. I have a better idea as to why Cumberbatch backed away from it. We will have to wait and see– Del Toro has his great moments, but he has also made some pretty mediocre stuff.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Miss Jupitero

        “I have a better idea as to why Cumberbatch backed away from it.”

        I had the same thought……. Spot on, probably.

      • 'p'enny says:

        I am not an expert on Del Toro’s work, i’ve only seen Pan’s Labyrinth and it freaked me out. What ever the bare bones of that script survives, it won’t include the special effects/ghosts or whatever monsters he may introduce, he will add them later to the film. Del Toro is an illustrative genius, amazing imagination, and that will make this film. If it has half the horror of the creature with eyes in its hands, i will be having nightmares.

        I think as well, if it was so full of boring cliches would Jessica Chastain, Mia W, Tom and Charlie be attached? they don’t need the work as far as we know. Jessica and Mia are batting roles away. If its good enough for them?

        I think as well Tom has a very different outlook to horror and the Victorian gothic, he’s gone on record saying he understands the genre really well. I think his excitement for role will shine, Tom has had a big influence on the roles he plays, he develops the character further and he might be better suited for this, than Mr Biopic Drama King, Benny.

        I think people need to keep an open mind, and thats is the worst thing about the leaked script. people are assuming it is the real deal, disappointment or praise?

      • Isadora says:

        Jessica Chastain also mentioned that Hiddles literally teared up (and that’s quite a story of it’s own…) because the script was so scary. I doubt he would do that if it was a mediocre collection of clichés. I mean, he’s an educated Brit, he has done some audioversion of Bram Stoker’s Dracula at some point and he has probably read more classic gothic fiction in his life than I have. So if the story is fine for him, it’s probably fine for me. However I have never seen a movie by GDT (I just know bits and parts of Pacific Rim), so I don’t know if I will like his style.

      • Nighty says:

        What has 50 shades got to do with Crimson Peak, the first is an idiotic story about BDSM and the other one is a horror story… This Tumblrd do have a pretty wild, confusing, strange imagination… or lack of it…

      • Nighty says:

        @Isadora you must definitely watch El Laberinto del Fauno (I think in English is Pan’s Labyrinth… It’s wonderful, horrific in some parts, but wonderful, one of my favourite movies, definitely… and Tom likes it to…
        So I guess I can’t wait to see Crimson Peak… 🙂

        http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457430/

      • Lilacflowers says:

        Benecio del Toro has said several times that his idea of “kinky” is far milder than what others think and there will be no nudity in his film because he’s not comfortable with it (sorry, ‘p’enny, I know you were hoping!)

      • Isadora says:

        Thanks, Nighty, I’ll look into it!

        There still is a nude scene in High Rise, isn’t it? Ugh, can someone finally fund this movie and get the cameras rollin’?

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @Isadora, yes, there is a nude sunbathing scene in High Rise.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @’p’enny:

        Lol at Mr Biopic Drama King! I was just thinking about this recently – he really does a LOT of biopics, doesn’t he? Actors get typecast so quickly and then struggle with it (same goes for Tom here).

        @Isadora:

        I’m with Nighty! Pan’s Labyrinth is incredible. I think it makes sense to watch it in order to get acquainted with GDT’s horror-related work. I would also recommend Hellboy and Hellboy 2, by the way. Some of the best comic book adaptations there are.

        Re: script: not gonna read it since it’s either fake or draft. Although that’s a great way to lower the expectations 😉

      • jammypants says:

        “Benecio del Toro has said several times that his idea of “kinky” is far milder than what others think and there will be no nudity in his film because he’s not comfortable with it (sorry, ‘p’enny, I know you were hoping!)”

        @Lilac I think you meant Guillermo :p

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @jammypants, oops! Yes, I did mean Guillermo!

      • 'P'enny says:

        @lilacflowers

        There will be plenty of sex. :-p

        GDT has said that although he is uncomfortable with filming, he didn’t say it won’t happen.

        stop ruining my fantasies! LOL I have high hopes in the highest of highest that Tom with get fully unclothed. I don’t care how, just that it happens. My lecherous mind demands it.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @’p’enny, i do hope that your lecherous mind gets all that it demands.

    • allons-y alonso says:

      *AHEM*

    • Secret Squirrel says:

      Perhaps the leaked script is a false one to throw people off the scent? If it is ANYTHING like 50 Shades, this squirrel won’t be going anywhere near it. What a bucket of slop that was (and no, I didn’t even bother finishing the book. My imagination is WAY better than hers!)

      • M.A.F. says:

        Good point. Hollywood has been known to put out fake scripts.

        As for 50 Shades. Never read the books nor will I ever. I do recommend Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty chronicles, goes where Disney did not go.

      • 50 shades makes me want to hang myself with my stethoscope. I read about a chapter to see what all the fuss was about, and I couldn’t do it. We’ve seen that cliched dog’s dinner a million times before, and much better.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Secret Squirrel

        I can’t believe millions of women read that drivel until the very end and found it exciting. The ones declaring that it saved their marriage, goodness gracious.. They have serious mental problems

        @Highland Fashionista

        I didn’t have a stethoscope or I could have tried to hang myself… And I read one page! Even badly written! 🙁

      • Secret Squirrel says:

        Confession time. I haven’t read a page of 50 Shades. I didn’t want to be labeled as knocking something I haven’t even read, but I KNOW it was crap without having to read it. Some women out there must be hungry for lust in their life is all I can say.

        Can’t believe they decided to make a film version of it. It has disaster written all over it. Step aside Waterworld, we might have a new “worst film ever” contender!

      • Isadora says:

        I read all kinds of drivel. I think it’s funny up to a point and I’m not as sensitive with English drivel (can’t read much nonsense in my native language though because badly written is even worse in your mother tongue). I even read all 4 Twilight books :-D.

        So of course I also started to read 50 shades although I didn’t realise that it’s a trilogy. So after the first one I was like “what?” but .. oh well… I also survived Twilight and that’s not exactly stellar *understatement* and started the second one. But even in my masochistic literary tendencies there is a point where one must stop. I definitely couldn’t stomach the third book after the utter bullsh*t of the second one. And what I’ve seen later as bits and pieces the third one seems to be the worst of the bunch.

        The only thing: up to this day I don’t even understand why this was ever labeled BDSM.

      • Make mine a double says:

        May be a bit late to the party but evidently 50 shades is now the book that most ends up in the charity book bin. Never read it, don’t wantb to, prefer Anais Nin.

  4. Melly says:

    His transition won’t be hard. He is adored and praised by everyone he works with, he’s incredibly talented, and he’s so damn cute!! Fans will definitely stick by him through the transition because he’s always kind and gracious

    • Intro Outro says:

      When you visit the Tom Hiddleston tag on Tumblr – it’s all Tom pics and Loki pics in almost equal proportion. When this equilibrium starts to change – i’ll know the “real working actor” is having the upper hand 😛

      • Hiddles forever says:

        The transition will happen when he will disappear from tumblr, probably!

      • Isadora says:

        That won’t happen. Even Alan Rickman is all over tumblr and I think it’s safe to say that he is a “real working actor”. 😉

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Isadora

        Really? *thud*

      • Isadora says:

        Yes, mostly for his Severus Snape, but I’ve also seen gifs from Sweeny Todd, Perfume and other films.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @Isadora, God help us all if Tumblr every discovers Rickman in “Truly, Madly, Deeply.”

    • Lilacflowers says:

      I really don’t understand why there is this constant “worry” about his career and that he “has to do this” or he “must do that.” Plenty of actors have long successful careers just doing independent films. Others have long successful careers just doing theater. Some, like Bill Nighy, Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, Judi Dench, weren’t known in the US until late in their careers. Why are so many so insistent that Tom’s career is in some kind of danger? It doesn’t appear to be. He’s had very few days off since last July when he did the Comic Con appearance, filmed more scenes for Thor 2, went on a never-ending promotion for the US release of The Hollow Crown and Thor 2, filmed The Muppets movie, did voice work on Pirate Fairy (along with Lucy Liu and Oscar winner Angelica Huston and the thing is doing really, really well), attended multiple Thor premiers, flying back the day after the LA premier to begin Coriolanus rehearsals, doing the first Jag commercial during the rehearsal period for Coriolanus, two months of Coriolanus, another Jag commercial, then flew to Toronto for Crimson Peak. Meanwhile, OLLA, Muppet, and Exhibition and the Thor 2 DVD and Pirate Fairy have been released in the last two months. The guy’s career is doing okay.

      • Isadora says:

        I don’t think that people are REALLY worried that he will be out of work and needs to wait tables anytime soon. He’s a great actor and he will get work. The only thing people are worried about is that he gets the kind of jobs where he can truly show his immense talent and those jobs that are great on his CV. The film industry isn’t about talent alone, sadly, but also if someone is able to attract a big enough audience, has leading man qualities etc. but it’s a fine line between jobs with a nice paycheck and cheesy sell-out movies. Or critically acclaimed indie movies and films that nobody knows and sees. (And with nobody I mean other people than the dragonflies. For example I think that Exhibition looks interesting but it’s not shown in my country except on some small film festival in another city.)

        I really want him to have the best career he possibly can have, so yes.. I’ll probably worry. I’m a Hiddles stage mum lol.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @Isadora, Exhibition is the first Joanna Hogg film to be distributed in the US, although I’m not sure WHERE it is being distributed, since it isn’t scheduled to show anywhere around here. Although it will be available for purchase (Amazon/downloads/itunes/etc.) which her other films weren’t. My point is that the “Hollywood” film industry isn’t all there is to have a successful career as an actor. Indeed, many films that people think of as “Hollywood” aren’t even filmed in California any more. And many, many British actors did just fine with successful careers before Hollywood “discovered” them in middle age or later. Hugh Laurie is another such actor, to add to the ones I named earlier. Again, I don’t think his career is about to go “poof” or he’s about to turn into a pumpkin any time soon.

      • Intro Outro says:

        For those who want to watch Exhibition: there’s think link http://player.bfi.org.uk/player/watch-exhibition-154077227/lseTc2bTr_NtAMWlDLPlZ49IbMgCtdo_ where you can rent it for £10.

      • Isadora says:

        That’s probably what the whole DVD is going to cost after a while. I’ll wait. 🙂

    • Miss Jupitero says:

      Everyone loves working with him, he’s a sweetheart, and he is a solid actor with plenty of stage and Shakespeare under his belt. He will find things to do.

      I do understand what Kaiser is getting at though– it terms of a Hollywood career, he does not fit neatly into what the studio execs want, he doesn’t ooze testosterone, he has not established leading man cred etc. He is therefore a bit difficult to cast. So this is a genuine transitional phase for him, and he has a troubling lack of projects on the horizon.

      I hope that High Rise gets its funding and moves ahead. Fact is, he needs to truly hit CP or HR (and preferably both) out of the park.

      • Intro Outro says:

        Sorry, but what/who are CP and HR? Thanks in advance ^_^

      • Nighty says:

        CP – Crimson Peak; HR – Hight Rise – two movies…

      • Intro Outro says:

        *headdesk* Thanks! I was thinking Miss Jupitero was referring to some actors who Hiddles has to compete with, and was like – who’s CP? Chris Pine?? O_O

      • 'P'enny says:

        @Miss Jupitero

        on the positive side, I think he has plenty of scripts, both theatre and film sent to him – I think he’s just picky

        but, I do agree he doesn’t fit Hollywood leading man – they just want lantern jaw wooden pretty men. But, I think he will find his niche. He has too much of a buzz around him for casting directors to ignore.

  5. Lola says:

    Learn something new every day … Dragonflies… Could it be better than the loonies and the b*tches… who knows.
    I think this kid is adorable, sharp and funny.

  6. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

    Aw. I have an inexplicable love for sock monkey. Cute picture.

  7. Abby_J says:

    I like his dork side. One of the main reasons that I like him so much, if we are being honest. He’s handsome, seems nice, yet I suspect he’d kick back and play a game of Magic: The Gathering in a heartbeat. Haha!

    You know, I wonder what stars really do with all this stuff that fans give them. I mean, he’d have to have a storage unit, to fit it all, of he actually keeps them.

    • Isadora says:

      The Cumberboy once said that he gives it all away except for a few really, really good works of art. I guess it’s the same for everyone else with a certain amount of fame/fans because that would be a HUGE storage unit. People give them stuff all the time – and I don’t really understand why. If it’s a great painting, yes maybe (although I would probably keep them all to myself lol), but stuffed animals or chocolates or something like that… He never showed a particular interest in stuffed animals (thank god, I think most of them are creepy anyway) and he can get chocolate anytime he wants. Plus I would never eat something fans gave me, god knows what they did with it. In the end it’s poisoned because some crazy girl is upset about something.

      And I’m not sure if I should be ashamed that I actually know how to play Magic: The Gathering lol.

      • Abby_J says:

        I was thinking the same thing, Isadora. I can’t imagine actually keeping or eating anything that was given to them. Posing with it is one thing, but yikes. 🙂

        I don’t think you should be ashamed that you know how to play! I was obsessed with it in the 1990’s. My best friend and I would go to game stores and play in tournaments, and because we were girls, it was like we were aliens or something. Guys didn’t know whether to hit on us, or be afraid of us! It used to crack me up.

        Actually, she and I still pull out our cards and play some times with our husbands. I would say that they aren’t as dorky as us, since we had to teach them to play, but since I met my husband at a LARP event, I’m pretty sure that makes him a dork too.

        I’m guessing the nerdy stars don’t do much LARPing, since well, it is their job and all. 🙂 The idea of Hiddles and Cumby going into the woods with foam swords is kind of funny, though.

      • Isadora says:

        Yes, I learned it in the 90s too as a kid and played again some years ago with a female friend – with lots of nostalgia and fun. And yes, my experience showed that the kids (until 13 or so) didn’t care at all if you were a girl and the grown men (above 20) were quite.. eh.. appreciative lol, but those boys between 14 and 18 hardly spoke a word to us because aaah.. girls… aaah.. hormones. lol

        Although it’s probably the only really nerdy thing I (know how to) do, never tried LARP or RPGs. And I never played a video game in my whole life (I had a Gameboy in the 90s with only one single game which was Pokemon lol). And without Hiddles I still wouldn’t know what Marvel is. Or DC. Haha, you now probably think I grew up on a farm in Nagorno-Karabakh or somewhere (which I didn’t!).

        Hiddles and Cumby in the woods with swords is quite a fantasy for some fangirls, I think! 😀

      • mayhem14 says:

        I knew a guy who worked security on the Fox lot and he said there was a particular show that used to be very friendly with fans; the cast and writers would accept gifts and food and tweet their thanks. And then it got weird and these people would show up at the gate expecting to be let in for a visit.

        It’s always a fine line between being polite and encouraging the crazy. When I was in college, I worked at a bookstore that was often visited by an actor with a supporting role on a hit show. I talked to him a few times and honestly thought I had forged a genuine connection (albeit minor) with him. Then I saw him at fan event and he 1) didn’t recognize me at all and 2) gave every other fan there the same seemingly personal attention he’d given me.

        It was a very “Tootie backstage at the Jermaine Jackson concert” moment for me.

        Now I’m a cynical old fart who thinks celebrities probably loathe their fans and the best acting they’ll ever do is pretend not to.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @mayhem14

        To be honest, I totally agree with your last sentence!

      • Abby_J says:

        Oh I don’t know. I was in high school when I was playing (I have a brother that is two years older than me, and he got me hooked on it!), and some of those 14-18 year old boys went out of their way to talk to us. Ha! My brother was responsible for my LARPing experiences as well, which backfired a little since my husband was one of his buddies. 🙂

        I never read the Marvel/DC comics either, and I get bored by video games. My husband, however, was/is very much into comic books, so we have seen all of the movies pretty much the weekend that they came out.

        Yes, I imagine somewhere there is fan fiction about Hiddles and Cumby in the woods with swords. 🙂

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Abby

        “Yes, I imagine somewhere there is fan fiction about Hiddles and Cumby in the woods with swords.”

        Only swords? LOL

      • Abby_J says:

        Hiddles forever,

        I bet the fan fiction involved clothes at some point, but by the end, probably just swords. 🙂

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Abby

        Hahahaha Spot on!! Do I risk to get some kind of disease if I venture into fan fiction land? I never read one (about Bc or TH, I mean!)

      • Abby_J says:

        To be honest, I haven’t either really. Apparently fan fiction got its start because people were writing stories about Captain Kirk and Spock errr…….hooking up. Now it appears to be everywhere and about every subject.

        I can’t swear that any fan fiction exists about the actors, but I am SURE there has to be Loki and Sherlock fan fiction.

      • Isadora says:

        I’ve read some fan fiction stories years back when Harry Potter was THE thing and they were horrible. The only fan fiction I read afterwards was rather a novel really and it was the second Twilight book (New Moon? I have no idea) told from Edwards POV. That was actually slightly better than the original Twilight series, but it’s not that hard. And it was apparantly not some kind of erotic story. 50 Shades of Grey on the other hand is a product of Twilight fan fiction too and we all know that it’s awful.

        The problem with fan fiction is imho that there are so many great books out there that I don’t really understand why I should read fan fiction. As to erotic stories: there are also good ones out there. Even some of those cliché bodice rippers are better written than what swirls around on the net.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Isadora:

        “The problem with fan fiction is imho that there are so many great books out there that I don’t really understand why I should read fan fiction.”

        It’s an interesting topic actually. I read fanfiction from time to time, and although really good ff is hard to find, it does exist. With very interesting storylines and excellent character development and generally everything HQ. Why would i go for it? The main reason is that some book and film universes are not explored enough, not detailed enough, and i want to experience them beyond the “canon” – that is, the official source material.

        For example, i never read Harry Potter fanfiction because JKR explored and described that universe in great detail, the books themselves provide me with a very satisfying experience. However, even if you take Thor universe – imo it’s seriously under-explored and under-developed in the films, particularly in terms of storylines. You have great fleshy characters, excellent conflict and a universe that’s got a huge dramatic potential – but the plots in both films are lacking, and the films generally do not do that universe enough justice. Good fanfiction rectifies it.

      • Isadora says:

        Intro, you are probably right. I even think that the Harry Potter universe has enough depth to encourage fan fiction – for example we hardly get stories from the other houses in Hogwarts etc. And as I freely admitted to read quite a bit of drivel from time to time I could probably wade through it and search for the real good stuff. I guess it was especially the erotic fan fiction stuff that put me off fan fiction. I mean I still stumble over quite a bit of Loki/Thor-Loki/Tom Hiddleston erotic fanfiction on tumblr because it seems to be everywhere under his tag and… yeah.. what can I say.. And when someone writes an Adam fanfic where he turns out like Twilight-Edward with Christian-Grey-sex-scenes it even ruins a Jarmusch movie for me. No no no… And fanfic about real people (in this case Tom as himself) is somehow.. I don’t know… very strange.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Isadora:

        I know what you mean. Erotic literature and fanfiction is VERY MUCH hit or miss. Few people know how to make it work so that the reader wouldn’t want to puke or laugh their ass off 8D

        I never read ff on Tumblr, there is a special site in my native language dedicated solely to fanfiction which i visit from time to time when i crave something Loki-related lol. What can i say? Out of hundreds of authors who work with Thor/Avengers universes, i have found maybe 5 authors who suit my taste. And i don’t think the situation is much different in the English fandom. But. These authors are GOLD. There’s one incredible fanfic which basically combines Thor universe with detailed Norse mythology, explores family dynamics, minority issues, psychological incompatibility, nature vs. nurture, jealousy, shame – everything Thor films touched upon but were never able to REALLY delve into – and all this is woven around an incredibly dense storyline. It basically does what the films haven’t managed to do for me. Amazing!

        But such pearls are very-very rare.

      • Isadora says:

        Hm… sounds interesting! And I always wonder why such prolific writers don’t sell their stuff and earn a nice amount of money with it. I mean, that’s probably the thing I admire most about E.L. James – she earned probably more money than all of us ever will with total bullsh*t. That’s quite a feat. I wish I had done it.

        (And now I’m even more curious what your native language is hehe… )

      • Isadora says:

        @Abby: I just read a few things about LARP and ha, I had no idea, I need to try that at some point in my life! It’s basically improv theatre isn’t it? Sounds funny! 🙂 (although I have no idea if I really like it, the last time I was in a play was at age 7 or something in school – I guess afterwards people tried to keep me away from any stage lol. I’m practically free of any talents.)

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Isadora:

        It’s a pity CB doesn’t have something like PM or DM! I’d really love to chat to many fellow celebitches outside of CB 😉

    • Adrien says:

      I miss the days when he would drive his twitter followers nuts by replying to them or by following back. He seemed like a helluva nice guy.

      • Janeite says:

        I think he’s still a nice guy. I think the reason he pulled back on Twitter was because his interacting with fans on there was fueling the fan frenzy even more. I’m sure most of us have seen the tweets that celebs get-it can be full throttle Rupert Pupkin at times.

    • Hiddles forever says:

      @Abby

      OMG, I DID IT.

      I ventured to one of those ‘sites’ and read it… the worst R-rated fanfiction ever about TH.

      Now I need a few trucks full of bleach because my mind will never be clean EVER AGAIN.

      *sobs uncontrollably*

      • Nighty says:

        Don’t sob Hiddles, our mind is amazing in protecting us from bad things… yours will erase everything you’ve read, that fanfiction…. you’ll see, all will be alright!!!

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Nighty

        I hope you’re right.
        I think that Guillermo del Toro’s story in Crimson Peak will always be LESS horrific than that fan fiction. I want to sue the Tumblrers for ruining Hiddles for me 🙁

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Hiddles forever:

        You gotta be REALLY careful with fanfiction lol. Some of the stories out there… O_< Well, actually MOST of them. I don't know how those teenage girls aren't ashamed of even typing such tasteless BS, let alone posting it for anyone to see.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Intro Outro

        I agree with every single word you said!! Amen!

      • Isadora says:

        Oh, I only now saw what you have written, Hiddles forever. I understand you, it’s a traumatic experience. Here comes the bleach. *truckload bleach*

        The worst thing: that’s not only teenage stuff (because teenagers… yeah.. I mean I’ve never written r-rated stuff, but I probably still have some tragic poems from back then. It’s horrible.). A lot of grown women with jobs and family and generally much more interesting stuff to do see themselves as “writers” and post their stories on tumblr. It makes one quite the cynist. If someone tells me he/she is a writer, I’m now more often than not like “yeah… sure…”.

      • Isadora says:

        hm… English very bad today. *grunts* Cynic? Cynicist? whatever..

  8. Marty says:

    Not that I don’t apprciate seeing Tom post everyday, but can we get a little Charlie Hunnam love too?

    That boy is so fine! And I heard he’s been absolutely wonderful to all the fans he met.

    • 'p'enny says:

      I just started watching Sons of Anarchy on Netflix, i chewed of series 2 over the weekend… God i have alot of catching up to do. But, Charlie is mighty fine too. I certainly wouldn’t kick him out of bed.

      But, i find his american accent bit weird, because in my head he sound like Ant and Dec. I wonder if he has lost his Geordie accent? shame if he has.

  9. Sarah says:

    Him and Chris Martin could be brothers. Weedy lanky posh English guys.

    • Lucretia says:

      So handsome. I want to run my fingers through the curls. Mmmmm. But what’s going on with his hairline? In retreat? I need to find some older pics from the glorious blond curl days of Wallander . . .

      • Sarah says:

        Yeah I find them both underwhelming lookswise. Very average looking. But each to their own 🙂

      • Lucretia says:

        Oh lord, on my search for Wallander curls I found a video of Tom explaining the word “compassion” — including a Latin lesson on the word — and what it means to him. Sigh.

      • LadySlippers says:

        Lucretia,

        I’d love to see that. Link please???!

        😃

      • Lucretia says:

        Here you are, LadySlippers! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4KESeU1zqc
        Wait until you get to the image that “compassion” brings to his mind (1:15) . . . And I swooned when he used the word “participle.”

      • Nighty says:

        Thanks Lucretia… Loved the link… have to complete, anyone who knoews Spanish, Italian or Portuguese…. 🙂

      • Lilacflowers says:

        Thanks, Lucretia. I could listen to him discuss words all night.

  10. Hello Kitty says:

    I was “in the neighbourhood” on Saturday and drove by Casa Loma where Hiddles is filming. Nothing. It’s wedding season so the castle was just full of wedding parties. Sorry, ladies. I tried!

    • LadySlippers says:

      I think you are telling stories Kitty.

      You were the fan that brought him Bunny dressed as a sock monkey so we’d be none the wiser. Fess up or I’ll send The Frisky Rodent your way!

      • Hello Kitty says:

        Shhh…be cool, Ladyslippers! Otherwise Hiddles will find out about the nanny-can in the toy!!!!

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Hello Kitty

        It was you? 😉 Can you pass on the video when you get it out from the nanny-cam…

      • Secret Squirrel says:

        You DROVE by?? You DROVE by??? What kind of level of dedication is that?? I expect tree climbing, binocular toting, camouflage wearing, camera clicking dedication…

        How awesome to be getting married there and have Tom and Charlie just wander by in the background.

        Hello Kitty, why don’t you hire a wedding gown, head to Casa Loma and if you happen to see Tom, start crying, say you have been abandoned at the alter and if he has a few minutes to spare, could he please step in as groom so you don’t have to go on your honeymoon alone. He’s probably too polite to say no!

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Secret Squirrel

        Lol! I guess that fanfiction has been written already ha ha

        On the other hand, Denzel Washington gatecrashed a wedding in Italy years ago, so why not Charlie Hunman and Tom?

    • Isadora says:

      That’s a perfect rumor: Hiddles was at Casa Loma. You saw a wedding party at Casa Loma. Sooo…. Hiddles got married!!!! HA!!! *badum-tish*

      • Hiddles forever says:

        Hahahahahaha perfect indeed!

      • Hiddles forever says:

        Well just read that Clooney got engaged, who would have said that….

        It’s time for the Dork King of Evil to unveil his secret girlfriend….. 😀

  11. Kiddo says:

    Whoever you are, and you know who you are, I can’t stop seeing a deranged bunny now. That image is stuck, with the smiling photo.

    • Intro Outro says:

      YES! I always thought his huge “for the photos” smile was a bit unnatural, he’s one of those people who look much better in motion than in stills, but this deranged bunny thing has STUCK! Damn! 8D

    • Isadora says:

      It did! And I still love it. I like him even better now lol

    • Lilacflowers says:

      The deranged bunny from Alice in Wonderland? Yes, that is stuck in my mind now too. Thank you to the person who posted that.

    • Nighty says:

      The deranged bunny is adorkable!! Now we also have a deranged sock monkey!!! 🙂
      😛
      Let’s go WILD!! And no searching for the missing screws, a certain amount of “derangeness” is necessary for mental sanity…

  12. JoAnn says:

    I guess yesterday he took pictures with some random fans on the street. I think he was running or biking from what he is wearing. They tweeted him their thanks and he tweeted back. It is on Torilla’s Tumblr, I’d link it but I don’t know how from this dumb phone!

  13. itsetsyou says:

    (in the voice of Anna from Downton Abbey): “I think he’s beautiful!” 😉

  14. Ncboudicca says:

    What do you think Bunny said when he brought Mr Sock Monkey home with him?

  15. 'p'enny says:

    He was also signing pics at 3am, the night they were filming late into the night. Silly fans! crazy-but highly amusing. Love the sock monkey pic, i hope he takes it through customs attached to his flight bag. lol. Great click-bait photo. Think Luke will be very happy.

    The comment about comic book actor to transition to serious actor, mmmm, I am wondering what he is planning next? I find it strange that he has no projects declared for 2015? But, then again 2015 films due to go into production are looking really boring. Seriously, too many comic book/adventure stuff. Rolled eyes another Pirates of Carribbean? And Hollywood seemed to playing very safe, is it me or is it all the same ten actors?

    I’d like to see him in a good mini-series or two -TV is where the good stuff is at the moment.

    • Intro Outro says:

      Yes to mini-series. We can have lots of Hiddles then in an amount equalling several feature films!

      On a more serious note – i find it fascinating how much the whole culture of TV shows has changed over the last 5 years. Pretty amazing.

    • joe spider says:

      He has already proved himself as a serious actor – Cassio, Coriolanus, Ivanov, The Hollow Crown.

      In fact he has done more “serious” than comic book.

      • 'p'enny says:

        But Joe spider,

        i think what Kaiser is referring too, is main stream acting roles. He needs to break in to contemporary modern drama. Period or cult roles are the biz for me, i love that kind of programme. But, Hiddles doesn’t want to be period drama King. This is the transition that is proving difficult for him. He needs another Kenneth Branagh to take a risk and place him in a modern-day film where he can shine.

      • Isadora says:

        Yeah. I’m still praying for High Rise.

    • Isadora says:

      ‘p’enny, what a marvellous idea with the monkey and the airport! My inner stage mom loves it.

      As to 2015 movies: What you aren’t all aflutter about 50 shades of awfullness? 😀

      No, seriously most of the 2015 movies seem to be very much for the same audience that likes the comic adaptions. And full of remakes and sequels. I guess it’s obvious from an industry point of view because Marvel makes the big bucks nowadays and they try to sell box office hits a second time with the remakes and sequels, but it’s kind of… boring.

      @joe spider: yes, he has. I guess we are just trying to further shape his career to fit our cinematic needs. Or his. 😉

        50 shades!

        God , i couldn’t get past page 3 of the book. although Jamie D is very good looking, i will pass on that one.

        i still wonder if he is waiting on Marvel to make a decision about filming Thor 3 in 2015. A Hopkins dropped a big hint that he thinks he’s maybe filming next year.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        ‘P’enny

        That is a huge spoiler too, was not Hopkins’ role supposed to be dead? Confused.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Hiddles forever:

        Actually i thought that Loki killing Odin was out of character. Loki doesn’t seem to be *that* kind of villain.

      • Abby_J says:

        I don’t think Loki killed him. Odin is probably locked away somewhere sleeping the Odin-sleep. Apparently something similar happened in the comic books, according to my husband.

        Loki has to lose, that is kind of his lot in life, so I suspect that one way or another, Odin will be back!

      • 'p'enny says:

        I didn’t think it was spoiler, because he said “maybe” He made a joke saying he would be playing Loki… it’s all tongue in cheek. And he said it when he was video’d interviewed for Noah. It’s on Collider website. So its out in the open. But, Hopkins changes his mind with the wind. Last year he said he wasn’t filming anymore and that two was enough.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @’p’enny

        LOL I meant Hopkins spoiling it for us, not you!! Ha ha

        @Abby

        A few months ago, someone on a website had said that Loki commits regicide in the comics. I never read them therefore I can’t know if it’s true or not.

        @Isadora

        I never made it to read 50 shades of whatever… I was able to read a page (posted online) and that was enough… I don’t know, the plot seemed lame anyway and in some cases it was upsetting me, it sounded like domestic violence :/

      • Abby_J says:

        I haven’t read the comics, but according to my husband, Loki takes over Asgard a few times, and he keeps Odin locked away at least one of those times!

        I’d imagine that Anthony Hopkins is under contract for three movies, but who knows. Whether Odin is dead or not, Hopkins would have to be back for a third movie, because Loki is pretending to be him!

      • Secret Squirrel says:

        Hopkins could be just filming a few scenes to show how Loki killed him (no spoilers here, just my thoughts!). OR it could be flashbacks. However I believe if they follow the legend a bit closer, Loki does not kill Odin, so I think there will be a twist as to why Loki has taken his form at the end of Thor 2.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        We don’t know what happened to Odin but I doubt he’s dead. Loki probably doesn’t have that much power. He can’t claim Asgard outright as himself any way, not only because of Thor, but because Thanos and the Other vowed to come after him if he didn’t deliver the Tesseract to them. Being in Asgard’s prison protected him from them, but if he’s free, which he is, and he has access to the Tesseract, which he does, they would come after him, which may be part of the plot for Thor 3. When Thor offered to return mjolnir at the end of Thor 2, Loki had to refuse it. Odin can lift mjolnir but Loki can’t and that would have been a giveaway.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @Hiddles Forever, Loki committed regicide/patricide in the first Thor when he killed Laufey.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @lilacflowers

        I hadn’t thought of that lol!

      • Secret Squirrel says:

        Oh I wish I could be in a cinema with all you guys watching Thor 2 and then having a discussion group afterwards talking about plot flaws and possibilities. Bring on Thor 3 (and my belief that Loki might appear in another Avengers plot yet…).

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @Secret Squirrel, we could have quite the discussion group. I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns up in Guardians of the Galaxy as a cameo. It was filmed in London last summer and, since the setting takes place in outer space, it would make sense to have an Asgardian show up somewhere to tie it in with the rest of the Marvel universe. I don’t know if everyone has seen CA Winter Soldier but there are Loki references throughout. It also wouldn’t be surprising if he turned up in a Marvel One Shot, the short films tacked onto the BluRay releases of the films. Ben Kingsley and Sam Rockwell both turned up in the One Shot on the Thor 2 release.

      • 'P'enny says:

        @lilacflowers

        Loki may have a cameo, but I think Guardians will be too soon – but it would be fun.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @’p’enny, wouldn’t it? There’s also a possibility that Loki could turn up on an episode of Agents of Shield (if it gets renewed). Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury has appeared and is supposed to come back again before the end of this season, as is Colby Smaulders Maria Hill, and Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif did an episode. Tom did say that he would be willing to appear on the show.

      • M.A.F. says:

        My money is on Loki showing up during one of the end credits for the Avengers 2 and/or a Marvel One Shot.

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @M.A.F., if it is a Marvel One Shot, it would probably be the one attached to CA Winter Soldier because the One Shots usually pertain to the film that immediately preceded the film on the Blu-Ray/DVD. Example: the Mandarin One Shot showing up on Thor 2.

    • Lucretia says:

      What happened to “Close Enough” the photo-journalist movie? His name was connected to that with Hayley Atwell?

      • kaisei says:

        The project fell apart for reasons unknown, the director didn’t specify but tweeted that it’s not going to happen. So no Close Enough.

      • joe spider says:

        It’s a shame because I think Tom had done a lot of homework on that one. Wonder if Marvel put a spoke in the works ( for extra scenes for TDW) or the funding disappeared? It was all very sudden.

      • jammypants says:

        The project is dead.

      • M.A.F. says:

        @joe spider-the rumors were that Marvel pulled him out. They had enough funding from my understanding but Marvel pulled him (and Atwell as well) to do the extra stuff for Thor 2. That was my understanding at least.

      • kaisei says:

        In reality no one knows, I very much doubt Hiddleston would have spent 3 months preparing for a role because he had to shoot a few scenes for Thor2. This was supposed to be an indie movie, they could have accommodate the schedule. The fact that the film won’t happen even in the future hints at other problems.

      • 'P'enny says:

        The marvel stuff is just rumours, there are no reports to substantiate it. but, I am all for the marvel conspiracy theory though. I mentioned and talked about it in previous threads. But, it is just hearsay.

        The director of Capa, said on this twitter, “it is not going to happen, it’s a long and frustrating story.” Which could mean anything. Maybe they tried hard to fit Tom’s schedules so he could do the Thor reshoots and it wasn’t possible, or maybe one of the European funders has issues.

        One thing that is slowly being pieced together now, through internet gossip, dropped hints through the dvd commentary ‘v’ inconsistencies in interviews, is the extend of Tom’s reshoots.

        On the IBDM boards, a couple of months ago, there had been some workings out that there were one or two fibs told by Tom and Kevin Feige to cover up how much reshooting/changing minds actually happened. Tom was on call apparently from June to August, in and out filming extra scenes in LA.

        .

      • 'P'enny says:

        @Kaiser “very much doubt Hiddleston would have spent 3 months preparing for a role because he had to shoot a few scenes for Thor2. ”

        To be honest, I do. Marvel contract’s cover reshoots and Hiddles probably had no choice. Feige is ruthless on this, he pulled Hemsworth from filming Michael Mann film in Hong Kong. Hiddles Is very passionate about Loki as a character, it brings in the money and global awareness that Capa wouldn’t. Those few scenes saved Loki from the permanent chop. Because I don’t care what Feige said, he intended to kill off Loki in Thor2. Biggest, expensive back-track in Marvel history.

      • kaisei says:

        @’P’enny I appreciate the promotion but I’m not Kaiser 😉
        Oh I have no doubts that Marvel could impose on his schedule like that, what I meant, and forgot to type, is that I doubt he would have spent 3 months preparing if he knew he had to pull away for Thor2. But even if that was case, it still doesn’t explain why a few months delay should end a project, as I said Capa was a small production, they could have just postponed the beginning of the shooting.
        It was probably more a question of money or maybe rights.

      • 'p'enny says:

        oops so Kaisei, [name error, argh]

        the way i understand the “gossip” is, that the reshoots were a late decision, whether it was down to Tom’s appearance at Comic-con or a decision shortly taken early June. I dont know. He wouldn’t have been able to delay Capa into Sept because he was doing the bulk of preparation for Coriolanus, and Hayley was on stage in early autumn. He then went on the Thor2 tour. His time in LA over the summer, i think, he also did Pirate Fairy and Muppets. [Both Disney]

        I hope he got a nice big bonus cheque for all that work.

        At the end of the day, it’s all gossip no evidence either way. i just love a good conspiracy :-p

      • kaisei says:

        no worries 🙂

        My impression was always that it was something more serious. To make an example, it took 7 years to make OLLA, so I think Capa could have been postponed to some point in the future if the project was solid.

      • Isadora says:

        I don’t know anything about Capa but it could be that the investors were backtracking after the delay (maybe due to Thor 2 reshoots). Because it meant that the movie wouldn’t be filmed in 2013 and nobody knows if it could have happened in 2014 (Tom’s not the only actor and maybe the director wanted to work with specific camera people etc.) and normally you can’t put investors “on hold”. So funding maybe broke away and the actors had other things to do – normally the death of a film project. OLLA was finally made after 7 years because Jim and Tilda were very dedicated and it sounds in interviews that Jarmusch was much more frustrated with the OLLA project than Tilda. So maybe without her it wouldn’t have happened either.

  16. Ellen says:

    This is an old photo we discussed last week. I miss his old tweets too but with Jim the fanboy and Tennis lady fangirl leading the pack of Hiddles nannies I doubt he would.

    Speaking of Fanboy Jim, he leaked on his twitter the location and the time that they are filming the new scenes.
    Good idea of him or reckless?

    • Isadora says:

      I somehow don’t believe Jim Beaver would do something like this without speaking about it with GDT or Hiddles. But maybe I’m too optimistic. Or he thinks that the fans will find out anyway.

      • Anne tommy says:

        Random inter- mammal hybridisation thoughts brought on by these posts- a monkey / beaver cross? A meaver? A bonkey sounds a bit rude- bonkey it is then…

    • 'p'enny says:

      They are night time shoots, i believe in Hamilton.. go fans. Doesn’t say which actors are going though.

      Jim is defo enjoying the adoration isn’t he? all the Hiddles name dropping and piggy-backing on the autographs. Although saying that, he does seem to have his fans too. Just not sure they are mad enough to queue at 3am.

  17. itsetsyou says:

    With the amount of attention this man gets just from having his pictures posted without any interview or major news for that matter, I wonder what will happen when he marries? Would the fans go crazy and really, really hate her? Or is Dicaprio he is not? (yes, I know he is not married 🙂 )

    • Hiddles forever says:

      @itsetsyou

      I would like to see him married soon and secretly.. I am selfish and I would like to have lots of fun watching the Dragonfly kingdom meltdown 😀

      • joe spider says:

        Perhaps he already is! 🙂

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @joe spider

        No he isn’t 😉 Dragonflies would know he’s married before he says ‘I do’. I wouldn’t walk in his shoes, EVER… lol

    • 'P'enny says:

      The moment he steps out with a woman, he will be Daily Mail fodder/ He will move from the internet news pages into mainstream papers, like last summer when he was rumoured to be dating Jessica Chastain and Lara Pulver. [which was absolute rubbish] I do hope he doesn’t go down that PR route, or faking a romance for a film marketing. I would seriously go off him.

      • joe spider says:

        @ several. My goodness, that rumour guy has been busy again. 🙂

        Sorry this is supposed to be several replies further down.

    • Secret Squirrel says:

      @itsetsyou – I seriously think some of his fans would go bananas if he got engaged/married. Some are REALLY devoted to him and would feel betrayed that he was no longer single.

      Hmmmm

      @Hiddles forever – If/when he marries, I just want it to be with a non-entertainment industry person. Competitive careers don’t usually make for a long marriage! I would like to see him marry once only and be stupidly happy rather than one of those serial marriers with 15 wives in 14 years, each bride getting younger as he gets older. Yuck!

      @’p’enny – I hope he isn’t a “film romance” type either, but with Luke calling the shots, who knows. That said, Luke seems to have disappeared a bit lately. Trouble in paradise or has he moved onto shilling with Emma Watson??

      • Ellen says:

        I hope he doesn’t feel he needs to keep a girlfriend from fans. That would be annoying because the majority of us aren’t nutjobs.

      • 'P'enny says:

        @secret squirrel

        Luke popped out at the Olivier Awards. I would take a guess he is only on the books, when he’s needed – and the film has a budget big enough for personal PR. Luke wasn’t outwardly in evidence for OLLA or any of the Coriolanus stuff, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was pulling the all the press interviews and the ELLE stuff.

        I think Luke will be quiet now till Crimson Peak. Unless Hiddles has a sudden blockbuster with a red carpet between here and now.

        And like you say, he is heavily involved in Emma Watson’s PR strategy and she is bigger business right now.

      • M.A.F. says:

        ha. My guess is shilling Watson since Hiddleston is too busy working. She was papped in London over the weekend with the new boyfriend.

        The fact that we know his publicist name really says a lot about the whole operation doesn’t it?

      • Isadora says:

        M.A.F.: It also says a bit about us. 😉 Because I’m sure the Cumberbitches also know the name of his PR lady. And I doubt the average film fan or dailymail reader knows Luke’s name.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Secret Squirrel

        I don’t see Hiddles marrying the librarian next door though. First, because he was not working class even before, second because he is now an actor and famous enough to have around a high number of beautiful women. And we know he is quite attracted to female beauty.
        Maybe he is pulling a Clooney stunt and marry a highprofile lawyer lol

      • Sarah says:

        @Hiddles forever

        I don’t see that either. I mean, marrying the librarian next door. Not with his profile.

        Don’t know he’d pull a Clooney either.

      • Ellen says:

        I get the vibe he’s not ready to get married or be in a serious relationship at the moment. He’s so busy at the moment it would really test it.

        It’s quite interesting that the last two women he was linked with gave off the fangirl desperation clingy vibe, one retweeted everything he said and the other favourites everything he’s mentioned in. He has never admitted to a relationship with either of them. With his two official relationships which he openly displayed affection both ended with rumours of his cheating (not saying it’s true)

        He’ll probably marry a younger girl from his class.
        Of course I think everyone would rather he dated then married a woman he’s been friends with for a long time and who doesn’t work within the entertainment industry at all.

      • Ppp12 says:

        @ellen.. Two official relationships? I only know about Susannah Fielding. There were rumors of him cheating (or trying to hook up with a hotel receptionist when said gf was already in the hotel or sth of the sort mentioned in LA and DL). Also people inferred the cheating rumors from her fb statua about how she’s not married and sounding very glad about it. Who’s the second one with cheating rumors?

      • Ellen says:

        Kat Dennings said they were in a relationship once. Rumours said he cheated on her.

        The point I’m making is that he seems to be going for fan type girls who give him attention and they’re not exactly the strong type of woman he keeps claiming he likes (which coincidentally is like susannah and Kat)
        It is obvious he wants some fun before an epic romance that would start off the crazies on tumblr

      • Sarah says:

        @Ellen Agree 100%!

        Even Sean Clifford who self proclaimed to be a strong woman and blah, blah at the same time acted like a total fangirl on Twitter. Arthy doesn’t say anything on Twitter but she also acts like a total clingy fangirl. They both looked desperate.

        Can you imagine when he finally gets to that Epic romance? The fandom meltdown will be equally Epic!

      • 'p'enny says:

        I just don’t believe that Hiddles is a cheater, a horrendous flirt, but not a cheater.
        Susannah’s problem, i gather, stemmed from his fan-base, she got a lot of nasty abuse. And, i think the ‘Thank god’ referred to that. Tom said publicly they split because of his work schedule.

        I didn’t think he was ever involved with Kat Dennings, and i’ve never read an interview where she confirmed it? Think they had a bit of a laugh at Comic -con/some event. But, i think she was probably just another of his female mates, like Hayley, A Lara P, Michelle D, and Jessica C, Helena BC, etc. He has a lot of female friends, which screams to me they don’t feel threatened in his flirtatious company.

        [The gossip on LA or DL is fan-made rubbish, more than half the time. ]

      • Hiddles forever says:

        IMHO this guys sleeps around a LOT….. and there is no chance to see him married or engaged or anything else for many years to come…

        Mark my words… he is on his way to follow Gerard Butler’s route or Fassbender’s.. maybe filled with Shakespearean poems and so on, less crude.. but he still is a modelizer.. 😛

        *runs off faaaasstt*

      • 'p'enny says:

        @Hiddles forever

        i’ve caught you! no more running.

        Fassbender isn’t he knocking of Naomi Campbell?

        If Hiddles went for skinny-models as serious girlfriends, [not a quick a leg-over] i would be gutted. I’d go right off him.

      • jammypants says:

        I’m of the same view as Penny on his dating life. But really, I know nothing. Zilch. Nada.

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @’p’enny

        “Fassbender isn’t he knocking of Naomi Campbell?”

        That’s a rumour probably… like Hiddles with Chastain… And if Fassy was actually knocking off Naomi, he must be careful not to be knocked out by Naomi… 😀 and his modelizing days would be over then LOL

        “If Hiddles went for skinny-models as serious girlfriends, [not a quick a leg-over] i would be gutted. I’d go right off him.”

        Are you sure? You? Naaaawww….

        *phones G. Butler’s number and ask him to hand over to Hiddles his list of models 😛 *

      • Nighty says:

        Unfortunately, I do think he is a sort of romantic womanizer (if that’s even possible)… Lots of women throwing themselves at him and he just has fun… with them…
        Darn, I do hate womanizers… 🙁

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @’p’enny, I think you’re right about the flirtatious part. Some people are incurable flirts, don’t even know they’re doing it, but would never cheat on their partner. My co-worker is like that. She flirts with anything and everything male, is unaware she is doing it, but she has been married for over 25 years and would never dream of cheating on her husband. If you are with a person who is flirtatious, you have to learn the difference, and be strong enough to handle it. Whedon made some comments in various places about how the NY portion of the Avengers shoot was the most difficult, partially because of half the world showing up to watch in Central Park but also because the entire cast seemed to bring their families and, as Whedon put it, “significant others” and some of the “significant others” were extremely difficult and didn’t seem to get that their demands needed to take second place to Whedon’s demands on the set.

      • Ellen says:

        I agree with what Hiddlesfever says and some of what Penny says. It’s impossible to say he doesn’t cheat because we don’t know but from experience a flirt could also be a deal breaker in a relationship.

        I don’t think he’s in the position in every way to have the epic romance.

        He will probably wait until his career and fandom have hugely settled down a bit.

        Sarah, I can’t wait to see the next if the next lady is more of a fangirl than the previous two before his epic romance. Lol

      • Hiddles forever says:

        @Ellen

        If Tom was a person with a ‘normal’ job, I don’t think I’m wrong in guessing that he’ll never get married. As an actor, it is difficult to say because what we see could be the product of his PR team and not who is in real life. We just don’t know.

        “He will probably wait until his career and fandom have hugely settled down a bit.”

        A romance can happen any time, I don’t think actors have the power to delay this kind of thing (I know he is the God of mischief, but only onscreen! 😉 )
        He never had very long relationships anyway, if I’m not wrong the longest one was two years. He’s 33, so that means that he spent most of his time as a single man. Sorry ladies, he is incredibly sexy and handsome, but I can’t get how female fans can think he is boyfriend material. I know that here there are a few ladies who think he is, I don’t mean to be disrespecteful to you in any way, but my sixth sense keeps ‘smelling a womanizer going incognito for PR’ when I see him. Just my opinion of course 🙂

      • Intro Outro says:

        Re: womaniser: since The Beatles were mentioned further down the thread, i can’t help thinking about Paul McCartney. He was THE womaniser back in 1960’s 8P And then he met Linda in 1969. She was very much a fangirl type or, as they called them back then, a groupie (albeit a very rich one lol). And the rest is history. From everything i’ve read, they had a very solid family.

      • Sighs says:

        He’s very pretty to look at, but yeah, I think he bangs anything that
        will let him.

      • Sarah says:

        @Ellen

        Agreed! Can’t wait for the next fangirl date to show up.

        Clifford was fun to read though. If Tom went out for a run, she went out for a run. Whenever Tom started with his “Love your life” guru thing or RT something from Alain’s Bottom, she either did the same or came up with her own silly guru stuff, if Tom tweeted “Song the the Day”, so did she. And the all-time winner: “I feel like a Goddess!” sh*t. Don’t know if this was a subtle reference to Loki or what, but it was fun. Arthy is boring in this aspect.

      • Hannah says:

        @Sarah

        Do you think they dated ? I did not know what to think of them, if they were just BFF (and she showed off a bit because she had known him since drama school) or if something more happened…

      • Sarah says:

        @Hannah

        I don’t know. They were BFF because she said so in at least one of her many show-off tweets. Tom neither confirmed nor denied it that is, as always, he said absolutely nothing.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Sarah:

        Oh my goodness XDD So much second-hand embarrassment even from reading this. No man is worth it, not even Tom “Deranged Bunny” Hiddleston.

      • Isadora says:

        Woah… so much speculation. Why should he never get married if he were a normal guy?? We only know about his relationships since app. 2005 (and he had a girlfriend back at Cambridge) and I think he was seriously together with Gwendoline Christie and Susannah Fielding since then? And probably some shorter affairs we don’t really know about (Kat Dennings, Arthy, whatever). I don’t know when things ended with Susannah and yes, he’s been quite busy since and yes, he probably sleeps quite a bit around (who wouldn’t in his shoes?) but he doesn’t seem to be commitophobic or something. But I agree he probably won’t get into a relationship with the librarian next door, simply beause why should he? I don’t want to shatter the hopes of all librarians here *g*, but he’s a handsome man in his prime, has a very interesting and varied job and is famous. I think it would be logical for him to go after a beautiful woman in her 20s/early 30s who probably works in the same area and maybe has a career of her own (so she won’t be after money/fame). Or that’s what I would do…

        And where does the marriage talk come from? He’s only 33. And he’s an actor. My circle of (totally normal non-famous) friends is mostly between mid-20s and mid-30s and nobody is married. Some are in relationships and one couple gets married this year, they are the first ones.

  18. pru says:

    Is it possible that he is genuinely this kind and nice to fans when being presented with odd gifts? It sounds exhausting.

    • Ellen says:

      I hope he threw that monkey away. The fans should get him something useful like a new cap

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @Ellen, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gave it to Jessica Chastein’s dog Chaplin.

      • Isadora says:

        Oh yes, I’d buy him a new cap in a minute! For the greater good! But he could never wear it because if he was seen wearing MY gift, then everybody would know that I’m his secret girlfriend.

      • Ellen says:

        @isadora it would be ok because he’s got a secret wife who is a fangirl. They have 3 children a boy and two girls. Chris is the godfather of his son whilst Jim and Benny are the godfather of his daughters. The family have a dog and live in a big house in London.

        His secret wife probably knows about his secret girlfriend although she would always forgiven him because he’s perfect and keeps her, the kids, the dog and the girlfriend hidden like any self respecting woman would.

        Elle really wants to do a 5 page spread but Luke won’t let them

      • 'P'enny says:

        @LILACFLOWERS!

        He wouldn’t dare LMAO! but I have vision of him playing tug of war with the dog now. Poor monkey.

        btw how does Jessica get that dog through all the customs in the world? is it smuggled in her bag?

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @’p’enny, when she landed in Toronto she had a picture taken of herself and all her luggage at the airport and Chaplin was asleep in his own travel case on top of the luggage pile. I’m not sure what the rules are for transporting dogs between the US and Canada, especially as in some parts, we can just walk across the border.

  19. itsetsyou says:

    Tom Hiddleston was talking *hit about Los Angeles on the radio this morning :))! Something along the lines of this city not being good for anything except for getting a good burger.
    How rude :)!!

    • TotallyBiased says:

      …itsetsyou…

      I know I’ll regret feeding the troll (that would be you), but…

      What radio show? And in what free time (considering the heavy CP shooting schedule.)

      He is on record as definitely saying *this* about LA:

      “Are you going to move to Hollywood?

      I enjoy going to and fro. I live in London and Los Angeles is a wonderful place to go to in the winter. LA gets a terrible rap as a shallow place that’s all about t**s and teeth and silly dogs in Beverly Hills. When I go there, I live on the coast in Venice, which is full of the most amazing technicians – the best cameramen, sound designers, visual effects and concept artists. It’s not as superficial as people think.”

  20. Ellen says:

    This is hypothetical so no lawyers. What would make his fans and tumblr explode, a secret girlfriend exposed or a secret love child exposed?

    • Ppp12 says:

      Either will outrage them. I remember when some girl posted a picture of him and a woman in a ship after the Sherlock premier. Some deranged fans were flooding DL about how he was a liar and a coward to hide his gf and then insisting that he was single. They felt “betrayed”. The rant was fun to read through though i felt worried about the well-being of someone who is sooooo involved in the life of a person they’ve neveret and probably never will.

      • 'P'enny says:

        It was because the woman was “supposedly” Jane Arthy, the big earrings, big 80’s hair, and terrible boots gave her away. His FWB -twitter lady.

      • Ellen says:

        @Penny that was only a rumor that it was Jane. If however he does decide to meet up again with this Fangirl With Benefits, I suggest she takes down get posters of him first.

    • Sarah says:

      Either. And I’d worry for both of them. Him, because crazy fangirls will feel “betrayed” and be angry at him for being a “liar”, etc. They’ll be really really angry at him. And her (the girlfriend), because with the level of his fandom obsession, they’ll try to harm her. Or both.

      I mean, they are TOTALLY obsessed with him. You can see it both on Twitter and Tumblr how they feel about him. And it’s insane. It’s beyond “Beatles” level.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Sarah:

        “I mean, they are TOTALLY obsessed with him. You can see it both on Twitter and Tumblr how they feel about him. And it’s insane. It’s beyond “Beatles” level.”

        Let me humbly disagree 😉 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njdvZR5R8qg

        Tom’s nervously smoking in a corner – and forever will be – compared to the utter madness that surrounded The Beatles. We get this false impression of OTT buzz around Hiddles because we read Tumblr and Twitter. If you put it into perspective – it’s not THAT big.

        If Twitter existed in 1960’s – Beatles would have a milliard followers at the very least. Or two lol.

      • joe spider says:

        @ Intro Outro – quite correct, most people in Britain have probably never heard of Tom, particularly if they aren’t interested in the cinema.

      • Sarah says:

        @IntroOutro & Joe
        I was jokingly referring to the Twitter / Tumblr fangirl craze. Of course nobody knows who he is outside T & T! Lol.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Sarah:

        Oh ok ^_^ I won’t claim that nobody knows who he is outside T&T tho 😉 Just.. not everybody lol.

    • Isadora says:

      I volunteer for the girlfriend part to make tumblr/twitter explode!!!! Couldn’t care less about the fangirl rage….

      (and lol at the “fainting” Beatles girls)

      • Sarah says:

        Oh Yeah! LOL! I suggest you do it @Wimbledon this year before T-Hiddy (what was that!?) heads to Northern Ireland to shoot High-Rise.

      • Isadora says:

        Wimbledon sounds nice. I’ll also get fancy sunglasses for the occasion. T Hiddy, call me!! Or no need… I’ll just be there and “faint” into your lap with a very properly pronounced “oh dear!”. The Beatles fangirls seemed to think this works.

      • Ellen says:

        Isadora don’t forget to act like a massive fangirl after Wimbledon. You need to favourite anything he is mentioned in, follow who he follows right afterwards, retweet any campaign he’s into, quote the sort of stuff he quotes, song of the day. You’ve got two big acts to follow.
        Also he’s going to deny all knowledge of you no matter how many times his crazies post your photos. So you have to put up with T&T without his support.

        Good luck.

      • Isadora says:

        Thanks Ellen! But I won’t need luck. He WILL love me because I’m a very special snowflake!

  21. Ppp12 says:

    Always thought he did the weirdest thing with his eyebrows when he acted, even though those tiny movements were quite efficient in conveying the emotions. HoweverHowever, after watching a few interviews i just realized that he has one of the most asymmetrical pairs of eyebrows. The right one seems to be moving at least an inch higher than the left one. Still beautiful though!!
    P.s. i realized I’ve way too much time ony hands :p

    • Leah says:

      He has eyebrows like a puppy dog.

    • Secret Squirrel says:

      I can totally lift my eyebrows together or the left eyebrow higher than my right one! Unfortunately it has led to me having more permanent wrinkles on the left side of my forehead 🙁

      And the world’s worst party trick…

  22. joe spider says:

    Back to the flirting posts – I’ve got the distinct impression at times that the flirting side of Tom is a lot to do with the PR side of things.

    • 'P'enny says:

      I think the flirting is Tom’s charm, not just a PR act, I think it’s genuine. He does it with the guys, too, can’t tell me he doesn’t flirt with Chris Hemsworth, off-screen. [not sexually, I am not talking Thorki stuff.] just friendship building. he flatters people all the time.

      It’s that eye-contact thing he does, too, unnerving at times.

      • jammypants says:

        I love that he flirts equally with men and women.

      • Ellen says:

        Of course it’s PR just like the no underwear situations at public events. I don’t think for one second that he was surprised when thatElle woman pointed out the Cannes photos. He knows what he’s doing.

      • Intro Outro says:

        I don’t understand his no underwear schtick tbh. *If* that’s what causes that, ahem, crotch hoop-de-doo. Public events are not only about showing off for fangirls. Once the doors close and fangirls are left behind – he’s in the company of other people from his industry. Wouldn’t lack of underwear look stupid then?

      • Isadora says:

        We don’t know what happened in Cannes but according to him he had a hell of a time even getting there. Maybe his luggage was late or something and he didn’t have pants? Not sure. As for the other red carpet crotch shots…. I’m not sure. I have a hard time seeing him as the “rebellious” type that would constantly go commando in the presence of possible industry contacts. But what do I know. There was this blind item about the Oliviers that could or could not be true. Or maybe Mjolnir demands freedom.

        Or maybe he only wears loose boxer shorts that are as threadbare thin as his shirts because he has only 5 of them. And the bad boy pants.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Isadora: i literally spat my tea on my keyboard XD Ahem. Threadbare underwear goes well with threadbare tees. Why should he be shopping for new underwear if the old one still holds at the seams MORE OR LESS? That’s very much Hiddles logic as far as i am concerned.

        Seriously speaking though, MTE! He doesn’t strike me as rebellious either. He’s pretty much conformist in almost everything he does publicly. WTF is this crotch bacchanal then? It just doesn’t comply with his image.

      • Isadora says:

        I promise, I will find out what’s up with his underwear and the crotch when I fall … um… “faint” very gracefully into his lap at Wimbledon this year! I have a mission!

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @Isadora, the “bad boy pants”, which he keeps in “the bad boy drawer” are part of the Loki costume from the Thor. Somebody did ask him whether Loki wears underwear and he responded that Loki wears underamour shorts because the costume has metal hooks inside (to hook to the stunt wires) and “things” (his term) need to be protected from the metal. The guy must wonder why he is constantly being questioned about underwear.

      • Isadora says:

        Thanks, Lilacflowers! I really appreciate your knowledge regarding his underwear! 😀

      • Lilacflowers says:

        @Isadora, I’m laughing. It seems that every woman who interviews him asks him the same ridiculous questions and my memory just won’t stop retaining that useless information.

    • Intro Outro says:

      I’ll generally agree with @’P’enny. It seems to me that while he might indeed be turning his flirtatious charms up a notch or two for his public persona thing, he’s also naturally flirty. I saw a couple of his older vids from 2006-2008, pre-Thor (Cymbeline docu, his interview with J. Hogg, also his short interview about Donmar’s Othello) and the way he is holding himself, his enthusiastic manner of speaking and keeping eye contact is pretty much the same.

    @Isadora, God help us all if Tumblr every discovers Rickman in “Truly, Madly, Deeply.” ‘
    We’ve. We’re just keeping him under wraps atm.
    Ellen says -I hope he doesn’t feel he needs to keep a girlfriend from fans. That would be annoying because the majority of us aren’t nutjobs.’
    I should think so. I’m not a nutjob, if I were, I’d,most probably, read Daily Mail. And 50 shades of bad writing and horrible plot.
    And to be frank, if Zachary Quinto being gay, Jude Law cheating, Alan Rickman being older than my dad ,did not make me descent into a fangirl abyss, why would I care about Tom being married?
    I mean…yes, I’ve probably graduated from being fan to an AC, but I can still differentiate between a man and his fame/choices/life.
    After all, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
    That being said, I agree that some of the fans are nuttier than a fruitcake; however not all of us are.
