Us Weekly: Prince Harry & Cressida ‘just had a few too many disagreements’

wenn21308266

Everyone is still analyzing and overanalyzing and overreacting to Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas’ split. My take? We’re just gossiping over here. You have your opinions on what went down and I have mine. There’s no reason for a flame war and everybody drawing up little fiefdoms in the comments. Sit back and let the gossip wash over you.

Cressida was photographed by a paparazzo yesterday, just hours after the breakup went public (a story which People Mag broke officially, if you don’t count Showbiz Spy). Cressy didn’t look like she’d been crying into a vat of ice cream, but she did look a little tired. I kind of wonder if there’s some method to this – in 2007, when Kate Middleton and Prince William split up, Kate started getting pap’d a lot on the street too. There were a lot of “show him what he’s missing” pap-sessions. I wonder if that’s what’s happening with Cressy too.

For what it’s worth, I don’t believe that Prince Harry flat-out dumped Cressida, or she flat-out dumped him. I think they were on the marriage track (I truly believe she was spending half her time at his Kensington Palace apartment) and I think Harry was trying to ease her into his life. And I think she got scared and couldn’t take it, and Harry realized that it was going to be another Chelsy Davy situation, where love wasn’t enough for a girl to sign on to life as a member of the royal family. So, in that way, the split was “mutual.” And hey, maybe they will get back together. This is the second-most serious relationship he’s ever had (the first most serious was Chelsy).

Us Weekly says that: “Cressida will focus on work for a while. She has no plans to start dating people.” Us Weekly’s source also says that they had been fighting too much and they had “just a few too many disagreements. Too much quarreling.” But… “There was no issue with royal pressures or Cressida being needy. That’s all wrong.” Source close to Harry have also gone to the UK papers to fight back against the “needy” claim made by one of People’s sources in the initial reporting. Got it. Cressida is NOT needy. But is she too young and immature for royal life?

Meanwhile, People Mag published an article this morning all about “what went wrong” in their relationship. The gist? “Cressida had a hard time dealing with the focus of attention being on her all of the time just because she was Prince Harry’s girlfriend – not because she was herself,” says Ingrid Seward, the editor in chief of Majesty. Unnamed sources say that Cressy is “low-key, sweet and down-to-earth,” and there’s another claim that this might not be the end, that they could totally get back together.

They will probably end up together once again. I’m just anxiously awaiting the Memphis visit by Wills and Harry. I’m hoping he unleashes his fun side this weekend, similar to Vegas.

    • Sayrah says:

Yes! I’ve told my sister to get home because he will be in town 🙂

      • Christin says:

I’m hundreds of miles away, but am amused that they are visiting our state of Tennessee. I hope your sister gets home in time. Supposedly they are flying in today.

      • Sayrah says:

Uh oh, they’ve been spotted at the Rendezvous and a strip club in memphis has “Welcome Prince Harry” on their sign. Lol.

    • Mary says:

I wonder if Jecca will be attending the Memphis wedding?!

      • pleaseicu says:

After the Spain debacle, I think Kate would be there if Jecca were attending.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

I think Kate knew Jecka would be there and couldn’t have cared less. She was more likely miffed that William made her and himself look foolish.

      • FLORC says:

Jecca could show up. I wouldn’t doubt it if she did.

      • Francis says:

Jecca was said to have been invited, not sure if she is going though.

      • AM says:

Wouldn’t be surprised if she’s there, along with any number of girls William and Harry have been linked to in the past. Wasn’t it Tom van Straubenzee’s wedding last summer where there were 9 ex-girlfriends between the two of them? And Guy Pelly is very much that same set.

  2. Audrey says:

They’ll reunite. Harry loves the drama. Look at chelsy davy. Always off and on

    • bluhare says:

Thing is, though, if she doesn’t like the spotlight being on her for being Prince Harry’s girlfriend and not because of who she is, getting back together isn’t going to do anything about that.

      • AM says:

The one thing that makes me think they might get back together is Harry rushing in yesterday to defend her. It might have just been him trying to be a good guy or had to do with her family being angered over the “needy” remark, but it also struck me as someone not being ready to shut the door completely.

      • bluhare says:

Don’t disagree with that, AM, but she’ll still have the same problem. She’ll be Harry’s girlfriend again with all the (unwanted) attention that brings.

      • AM says:

Agreed, bluhare. But maybe this break, if it is just a break, will give her a chance to sort out those feelings – if she feels more strongly about Harry or her privacy.

  3. Talie says:

TheDailyMail had “friends” say that both are very immature for their ages — frankly, they should date for another 5 years.

At least with William and Kate, they had been together so long — there wasn’t going to be any surprises about life together. That can be boring, but William can’t afford to be reckless. Not sure his brother can either, even if he is 2nd or 3rd now.

    • Audrey says:

      I think Harry is 4th.

Charles, William and George are ahead

Harry can definitely breathe easier now that George is here. Still has responsibilities but there’s very little chance of him actually becoming king

      • Chrissy says:

Too bad! He would make a kick-ass king IMO.
Lots of fun but also knows when to be
        serious and work hard.

    • Suze says:

Thank heavens I don’t have friends like this!

    • Sabrine says:

I think they’re done. She is probably feeling incredibly relieved right now and looking forward to withdrawing from the fishbowl. It just wasn’t worth it.

  4. Sixer says:

Ho ho ho. Kaiser said fiefdoms. I love that word.

I’m in the uninterested fiefdom. I don’t care if they get married, split or reunite. Or what they wear. I’m only here for the other fiefdoms cos I like many of the fiefs. There. I even made up a new word.

    • Dame Snarkweek says:

I’m like a fief in the night!

      • bluhare says:

I would like to choke you out for getting the refrain from some old rock song I don’t like and can’t even remember the title of stuck in my brain. I hate you today. Hate you!!!

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        Rolling Stones? Kiss?
        😉

      • bluhare says:

It’s something about a robber in the night. That’s all I know. And it’s torture!

      • Sixer says:

Fief (sic) in the night is the Bible, though, originally. Isn’t it? The second coming? Blimey. I’m an atheist. How do I know that?!

The Dame wins the Sixer Award for wordplay this week.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        Sixxer
Some of the little Sixxlets’ Easter chocolate seems like a worthy prize, eh?

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Lol, I like the other fiefs as well. I must have missed something yesterday, because I fall into the “mildly interested but not enough to keep checking back” fiefdom. Wish them both well. We don’t know what happened and probably never will.

    • bluhare says:

I wondered about the fiefdom thing too. I do know there was a deleted post yesterday. Might have been something in there.

    • Dame Snarkweek says:

      Blu
Now I wish I could remember it. 🙁

    • Sharon Lea says:

Wish I knew what happened too, I posted a couple things then didn’t have time to check back in.

I belonged to a royal blog a few years ago. It got really heated and I left because of it, too heavy for something we are all speculating about. We are here to chat, and maybe share a joke.

  5. Dame Snarkweek says:

Cressy still hasn’t learned how to keep her team from releasing dumb as hell statements – official or otherwise. It does her no favors and shows her immaturity, imo.
And what dancer/actress is terrified to be the focus of attention? Pfffft.
Cressy is the adored, indulged girl at the center of her family and social set. For the first time I am beginning to wonder if this special little snowflake didn’t stamp her foot one time too many with the ginger prince.

    • Allie says:

Agreed 100%. She’s a socialite- of course she loves the attention.

    • Dame Snarkweek says:

Her family never shies away from the soundbite and they are leakier than an old faucet. While most are dazzled by the family’s aristocratic lineage there are some who compare them to the wealthy but crass Hiltons.

    • HH says:

@Snark – This goes exactly with my comment posted below. From Ingrid Seward’s comments, Cressida likes the higher profile and attention, but wants it to be about her and not about her being Prince Harry’s GF. This would make sense if she were noteworthy in her own right, but she’s not. And now she’s in a situation where one of her notable personal facts is that she is Harry’s ex. So I guess like Isabella, she’s gonna ride that wave out until kingdom come.

      • bluhare says:

If she were smart, she’d be parlaying it into being about her. One would think many a dance company would like Harry’s girlfriend in their production.

Whether she likes that part — being hired because of who she is — I’d take it and run if I were her. Lots of competition and why not take the edge if you have it?

    • Liv says:

She dates Harry, but is shy and doesn’t want to be center of attention at a wedding? Who is she kidding? You know what you have to expect when you date a prince.

      • DameEdna says:

@bluhare…..and yet when Pippa took advantage of her links with the RF, she was (in some quarters) whacked with a sledgehammer for her effrontery.

        Impudent minx!

      • bluhare says:

Pippa was in trade, Dame Edna. Trade!!!!

      • DameEdna says:

Ah yes, trade…..how terribly vulgar. Perhaps the Pipster could learn to dance instead.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        Another Dame!
        *waves*

    • bluhare says:

Sounds to me like she wants the attention on her terms for her accomplishments, not because she’s Harry’s girlfriend. If that’s the case, she should stay broken up because that’s what she’ll get if they reunite.

      • fairy godmother says:

ITA! Girl wants the attention- but in her own right! Like that is going to happen-lol!!!

This is all too funny! A dancer, actress, wanna be singer, model claims she does not want the attention? Drinks anyone? Perhaps we should do shots for evey stupid, lame story she and her pr, family, friends put out for her? I would be comatose in less than two hours at this rate!

Does not like the attention? Why do you think she showed up at the Percy wedding cackling with a wide-gappped mouth? She was not expected to attend since she was never ever a real friend of the bride or groom! Why would someone who shuns attention attend the high society wedding of a couple she is not friends with???
Such a ridiculous woman and family! Does anyone seriously think Harry would return to such a mud-slinging crew? Hopefully Arabella Musgrave talked some sense into Harry last night in Miami!?

      • FLORC says:

        Fairy Godmother

Cressida is a dancer. I can see the actress part from her older sister, but where are you getting wannabe model/singer?
Also, her previous behavior or the 1st 2/3 of her relationship with Harry was so under the radar (not seeking attention) almost all the news outlets didn’t know if they were dating at all.

As for the wedding pics. She was with a friend (Eug) having fun it looks like. Cackeling seems like a bit much.

        Bluhare
To answer you question below asking me if you missed something this sums it up. This has become too negative much like KMcriticism did.
More fun, insightful ladies here, but yea. i’ve had enough of comments like this. Too negative to just be negative.

      • bluhare says:

Oh, I think Harry could well be back. And I don’t think she was cackling. That’s the one photo of her obviously laughing it up that I’ve seen.

      • bluhare says:

Well I’ll be unhappy (and purple from holding my breath) if you stay away FLORC. Scroll past the negativity, or take a day. But don’t be gone for long!

      • Suze says:

Well, Fairy Godmother, someone invited Cressida to that wedding. I don’t think she just showed up. I don’t really buy that no one expected her attend.

I am an equal opportunity snarker, so I must say that the royal family is every bit as ridiculous as the Allthrusters – Harry doesn’t have the moral high ground when it comes to his genetic pool.

Nevertheless, I do think they are dunzo as a couple. But I wouldn’t hold my breath that Harry is going to find someone that people like more than Cressida – it will be somebody similar. Probably another aristocrat who doesn’t work a whole heck of a lot.

It occurs to me that between Harry and Williams exes, and that incestuous social circle they surround themselves with, it must be very weird to go to weddings. You are constantly bumping into people you used to sleep with.

      • fairy godmother says:

FLORC- Yes she gave a go at modeling and volunteered for someone who was starting out a swimsuit collection. There were no interests or offers made- perhaps considered unremarkable or not having a model quality-? Her PR put out stories not long ago she had offers to model, but that was unfounded nor transpired.
She claimed to want to sing and nothing came of that so far. She got a bit acting for her half-sister’s odd tv show that was cancelled. She was never offered a dance position with a leading dance troupe either even though she went to school for dance. All which suggests she is not as talented as some suggest. She is 25 which is very late to most dancers and rare to think of just starting a career. I really do not count school plays/dance recitals as a career. So that it my pov.
Whether we agree or not – imo respecting others views is what seems to be the best approach. What I stated is not about “negativity” just to be critical-it is what info/facts I am aware.
As far as seeing her- I disagree as a result of the overwhelming campaign that begin after Vegas. Too many stories, reports, covers, leaks, photos, etc. If it was a relationship so be it. IMO if a person needs so much spin and image building to portray some persona other than one’s self for a bf then why bother? But that is just me.
She went to a wedding of a couple that she did not usually socialize with or know very well. Weddings are usually celebrated with family and dear friends n ot just acquaintances.
Suze- I did not nor have I ever deemed Harry as Mr. Wonderful at any point or as any beacon of morality. Where that remark came from I do not know.
I did not say she just “showed-up”. I said she was not expected considering she was not a great friend to bride or groom. Although Eugenie is and even attended one of the hen parties. About the cackling- I observed an exaggeration of a wide-gaped mouth parading along with Eug and her crew from videos. What I noticed as interesting is when she was doing so others around were not talking or laughing with her. IMO it was odd.
I too enjoy the regular snark and light heartedness here. I did enjoy your reminder of the “incestuous social circle”. Most people would find it awkward, but apparently not in this social set.

      • Suze says:

@Fairy Godmother – what I meant by the morality remark was that all the *families* behind the dynamic duo here – the Allthruster clan, the Spencers, and, above all, the royals, are pretty weird and odd – and not particularly moral by middle class standards. Lots of marriages, divorces, affairs, screaming fights behind the scenes.

        It probably wasn’t very clear.

      • fairy godmother says:

Thanks Suze for explaining what you meant!
Internet can sometimes make it hard to follow or misunderstand things.
@ their circle- so gross! Makes one have to wonder what their STD rates are in their group or if that is one of the reasons penicillin has become so resistant to certain strains-? (from a medical stand point- lol!)

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

        FLORC
I hope you don’t go. I think Bluhare had a good suggestion to jut scroll past the really insane posts. Just say blah blah blah to yourself and don’t pay attention until you come back to a reasonable post. Maybe if nobody responds, they extreme ones will go elsewhere and ruin someone else’s commentary.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        FairyGM
I would be interested to see how or even if this effects the Branson thumbprint on Harry’s philanthropic and charity initiatives.

    • Sharon Lea says:

Great points Dame and HH (& others on this thread), I can see what you are saying. Cressy wants to be known for being herself, but she doesn’t have enough dance/acting credits under her belt to be known for anything yet. If she truly wants to be ‘on stage’ then she cannot marry, have kids etc because that is what he wants in the next few years . Good for Harry, who I believe must have realized it was better to end things now instead of dragging it out.

I feel strongly that there is another gal for Harry, and he will marry her. He might go back and forth with Cressy a bit, I’m sure they love each other, but there is someone else for him.

  6. Sarah says:

Daily mail has some sources saying she couldn’t deal with the attention and also that she doesn’t trust him. Apparently she is really shy. They also said the are both really immature for their age. She is 24 going on 19 and he is 29 going on 24.

  7. pleaseicu says:

I don’t know. Ingrid Seward is besties with Lady Mary, she’s the last person to give an unbiased account of what’s going on. I think this could be the end. If it wasn’t the end, it might be now. Harry seems to value loyalty. Within 24 hours, her family and friends had a rather consistent story they were spreading around to the british press blaming Harry and the public/press for it and that Cressida is just a special snowflake who hates attention and just wants to live her life, why oh why won’t anyone let her live her life?

IMO he’s done dumb stuff before but he would be idiotic to go back to a young woman whose family and friends’ first instinct when trouble hits is to throw him under the bus to the british tabloids 18 hours later and who dragged in an ex-girlfriend and their past relationship that ended years ago and the ex is trying to live a private life now and blame her too. Way too Middleton-esque of them IMO. That should set off red flags IMO.

I don’t know, the BRF courtiers have a lot of practice with Harry’s love life, Harry has a lot of practice with Harry’s love life, Charles has a lot of practice with Harry’s love life. I don’t think the courtiers would get involved nor would Harry go to the courtiers or his father to take over and leak the break-up if this was just a mere break and they were going to get back together in a few weeks or a couple of months. They’d just go radio silent and ignore it like they have when he’s had on/off relationships before.

    • Dame Snarkweek says:

Hilarious and true. My comment is waiting to post and I said roughly the same thing. Again, Cressy’s camp jumped the shark on this one. If they do reunite I think it would be more of a hook up than anything else at this point. Maybe this whole thing was the world’s longest hook up.

    • HH says:

I just hope this line isn’t true: “”Cressida had a hard time dealing with the focus of attention being on her all of the time just because she was Prince Harry’s girlfriend – not because she was herself,”

So, it’s not that she minds the higher-profile and the attention, but she wants it to be about her and not about her relationship. That would make sense if she was Amal Alamuddin, an extremely accomplished woman in her own right. Cressida hasn’t done anything notable in her own right for people to take notice or celebrate her individually. That statement is extremely naive. So I hope it’s worded incorrectly or just plain wrong.

      • We Are All Made of Stars says:

So she has no intrinsic worth or value as an individual unlike Closet Clooney’s latest and greatest? Get real.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

Of course she has value as a person. But when you complain about the bulk of your celebrity status coming from who you happen to be dating it begs the question: what else would you have us focus on, my dear? To this I only hear crickets.
She was fortunate that the media was so gentle with her, imo, and everyone went out of their way to praise her dedication to her dance career, etc. she had no reason to complain, I believe
Obviously this is all academic if it turns out that Cressida never said that, which is a possibility.

      • HH says:

@Stars – At no point did I say she was worthless or had no value. From Ingrid Sewards comments (which could be false), it sounds like Cressida wants people to take more of an interest in who she is and doesn’t want to be known simply as Prince Harry’s g/f. That’s understandable, but we’re talking about the public’s interest. People don’t take interest unless they find you interesting. At this point, the most interesting thing about Cressida is that she was Harry’s g/f.

      • LAK says:

HH/Dame/We are stars: that statement made me think about Kate, who went out of her way to do things that could facilitate her ‘relationship with a high profile man’.

Ditto all her various excuses for why she could or couldn’t do anything with her life.

So, whilst i can agree that Cressida has no substance as far as celebrity is concerned to complain about how or why she has that celebrity, I like her so much more for NOT wanting to pursue her life with a caveat of being someone famous’s girlfriend.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        LAK
In the end this may be what Harry really likes about Cressy. It will also help her get on with things much faster, imo.

      • Jegede says:

        @DameSnarkweek
DM and Telegraph are not even hiding their bias and hurt at this turn of events. Notice the dragging Middleton got on their break up as they whipped out girl after girl who were ‘more acceptable aristocratic’ replacements for Prince Billy

SO compliant are they and eager for this match, they have not asked questions like how does one intend to pursue a dance career at 25.
If you have not made it by that age then it ain’t happening

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        Jegede
I fear this is because Cressy is from the *right* family. And you’re right imo. At least Kate’s family didn’t plant quotes suggesting William was a cad. Some may disagree but I think the media shamed William all on their own. Harry deserves no shame here. I don’t think Cressy leaked to the media but the people speaking on her behalf are making an awful mess of things.

      • HH says:

@LAK – That’s probably how the comment was meant to be taken, but IMO it didn’t read that way. Seward’s quote sounded slightly….narcisissistic(???). Almost as if she was wondering **why** people weren’t focusing on her. I understand not wanting to be defined by your relationship, but I just don’t understand what she thought was going happen. I mean, Prince William is still mentioned in any story about Isabella, and she didn’t even date the fellow!!!

    • Dame Snarkweek says:

      HH
I think this special little snowflake flew too close to the sun.

      • HH says:

@Dame – LOL! The perfect snarky comment. It just sounds like she wants fame on her own terms. Makes sense, BUT, you don’t make yourself the g/f of one of the world’s most high profile princes. C’mon!

      • Ayre says:

        Succinct. And spot-on. 🙂

That was my very first though, Snarky. Poor Romina!

      • Liberty says:

FIFTY SHADES OF WINDSOR: Book Twelve-ity-ish

“Fie and blast!” said William Baldtop, flinging a crisp ironed copy of the Daily Mail away from the table where he was simultaneously packing black socks for his US trip and trying to bid on a large watercolor portrait of Elizabeth Hurley. “My brother is a fool! He had Cressida One and threw it away! So she’s a bit of a hooray! She had the legs of a parade pony!”

Poor Romina, the 22 year old foreign-born former literature student and sometimes royal nanny, shuddered and quickly picked the paper to look at the headlines. The room began to spin. What –? She turned in a daze to her muttering employer, when the sound of a door and the sudden scent of orange leaves, fine leather, toasted hops, drowsy puppies and hot cookies assaulted her very being.

The Ginger scamp stood in the doorway, tall, lean, raw and powerful in dark jacket, jeans and trainers, his red hair still holding the fresh breezes of the first of May. “I say,” he said in his well-modulated caramel-drizzled tones bursting with rivulets of hot man juices, “I do have the car for the airport and all that, but first I must carry some orphans I found to the police and drop off a donation to pay for five soldiers’ surgeries and also, go feed the rescued dog of a friend.” His kind eyes looked into Romina’s tortured face. Inside her soul, she flamed, and fainted, grabbing a chair for support. “Cressy was going to do this with me, but, well, she’s auditioning for Downton after all and one must be strong and …..” He stared. “I say, who are you? You’re not Maria. I saw her stitching herself a jumper of thorns just a moment ago downstairs –”

“I was about to say, I’ve the most scathingly brilliant idea!” William Baldtop blurted out, jumping between his brother and Romina. “Let’s go right now and get new shoes on the way!” He tried for the younger man’s arm, but he grabbed air.
“Hold on,” murmured the lithe ginger prince, stepping neatly aside, “Who is this girl and why is she wearing a falconer’s glove to hold your hairbrushes and wearing a UNICEF tee with that tiny skirt and heels?” He took a step forward, and thrust out one strong supple paw. “My friends and exes call me Harry,” he said gently. “What do those you bewitch call you, my dear? May I be…. of service?”

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        OOMMGG!
I don’t know whether to grab a bottled water or have an early evening stroll…how am I supposed to wait for the next installment?!

LOLOL!!!!! The hell with Baldtop! I want more Ginger Scamp!

Liberty, you outdid yourself. Love it!

      • Suze says:

Liberty, you really need to write romance novels. There’s money in it! Go for it!

      • Liberty says:

🙂 There’s more Ginger Scamp in your future!

      • Deedee says:

Drowsy puppies and hot cookies–love, love, love it!

      • Ayre says:

“So she’s a bit of a hooray! She had the legs of a parade pony!”

        Dying over here.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        Deedee
That quote made my entire day.

      • Liberty says:

(giggling) So sleep-deprived… but YOU all are making my day — thank you! 😉

      • bluhare says:

No, Liberty. You just made OUR day. If you need sleep deprivation to write these would you like a quadruple espresso?

Not sure what my favorite is . . . Baldtop bidding for Liz Hurley portraits, Maria knitting a jumper of thorns, or Harry rescuing puppies on his way home from saving the world. It’s all a wonderful antidote to the thread I just got done reading (after I said I wouldn’t!).

      • Pinky Rose says:

        Excellent! Pure perfection indeed, Liberty.

      • Isadora says:

Wow! I see a bright, bright future (and a big paycheck) in romance novels, Liberty!

  9. Cazzee says:

It kind of seems like Cressida might have more potential future spouses than Harry does – all she needs to find is a rich husband, while Harry needs to find someone who is both compatible as a life partner *and* someone who is willing to become, basically, an employee of the Royal Family. There are a million restrictions on what you can do and wear, and for what? Because you happened to fall in love with and marry someone who is fourth in line to the throne?

Seriously – who wants to wear flesh-colored pantyhose every time they leave the house for the rest of their lives?

    • Dame Snarkweek says:

She is young, wealthy and connected with an elevated profile. She will land on her little dancer’s feet just fine.

      • Francis says:

She’s university educated, with a degree.
Yes she has loads of choices. She was dating an Earl or some titled youngman before Harry for four years.

    • Suze says:

Yeah, she actually has more options than Harry.

  10. LadySlippers says:

    On a completely different topic.

I love that Harry is so veteran friendly.

    http://www.kentonline.co.uk/folkestone/news/prince-to-mark-ww1-in-16586/

  11. Skins says:

Good for her. Why would any girl want to give up her freedom and independence to be part of this whole Royal Family crap is beyond me. Well, except for Kate, and that was her life’s goal

    • HH says:

This would make all of the sense in the world, except that she’s close friends with this cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. So, presumably she’s seen all of the harsh criticisms they’ve received (mostly because of the simply facts of who their parents are). Granted, you can’t understand certain situations until you’ve been in them, but that’s one of those things I can’t imagine wanting to test the waters, so to speak.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

Yes and Cressy has vacationed with the Yorks. Surely she and Fergie conversed about this at some point or another. And while it is true that knowing something is different than experiencing it I still fail to see where she was put through the wringer by the media.

      • T.C. says:

It’s one thing to see your friends face the press it’s another to experience it. She has too many options to choose this life. Marry a private billionaire and enjoy your privacy.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

This worked out well for her sister. Isabella married a Branson and appears to be living the high life. Not a bad gig if you can get it, imo.

      • HH says:

@TC/Snark – That was my point. I get that you can’t understand a situation until you go through it, but the media attention from dating a prince…..??? Why would she want to test the waters if she’s supposedly so media-shy? She has the examples of the Yorks and her sister who to this day is “the one that got away.” That baffles me.

  12. FLORC says:

This Gossip isn’t washing over me. While I understand and enjoy you ladies and your humor this story isn’t a story. And many here are making assumptions as facts and there’s a large amount of negativity.

Or maybe this is still fallout from clicking on a KK thread. The vitriol still lingers. Going the route of LadySlippers and taking a break.

    • Dame Snarkweek says:

No vitriol here just lots of snark. This is the first time I have actually felt Cressy doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt here. I never felt she was chasing the ring like so many others did. However, I give massive side eye to her ridiculous, pouty statements via her “friends”
After Harry flew to her defense in the media yesterday I say shame on Cressida and company.

      • Jegede says:

        @Dame Snarkweek –
You’re always fair minded and make excellent points IMO.
One of the few who has little to no bias

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        Jegede
        *puts down croissant, blows kiss*
        TY!

      • FLORC says:

Not you Dame. From the KK post. Pure hate there. It still lingers. I made a huge mistake clicking and reading it.
And I think you do have a bias Dame. A lovely bias that I agree with.

      • bluhare says:

Take your break in here, FLORC. Don’t make me stamp my feet and hold my breath!

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        FLORC
You are a doll today and I think I will agree with you on LadySlippers’ behalf lol. I think Cressy’s somebody or another needs to walk it back a little but if I seem like I am bashing a young girl I want you guys to let me know. I just think she grabbed her pajamas with the sock monkey feet on them, tossed her hair and stormed out of Harry’s apartment. I just enjoy this visual and don’t want anyone to take it from me!

      • Liberty says:

Dame — That visual is faaaaaaaabulous. Aww!

    • bluhare says:

Huh? I’m confused FLORC. Did I miss something?

    • original kay says:

      Grand Fashion Flounce.

If you really meant to take a break, you’d just do it. This is drama to the 9th degree.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

imo FLORC is very drama free. And she did say that it had more to do with her experience today on the Kim K thread. We all have days like this, no?

      • bluhare says:

Agree re FLORC. I think she only said something because LadySlippers did yesterday.

    • Suze says:

FLORC, I hope you and Lady Slippers come back, and that LAK starts posting more again, too. I miss our chats!

I agree that negativity can fly, but this thread is one of the calmest on CB today. I poked my head into the Peaches thread and had to beat a quick retreat, it was too negative for even stony old me. And the George threads are pretty rough, too.

Nevertheless, I can understand a need for a break.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

Where is Tulip Garden, My Two Pence, Maven the First etc?? Jeesh 🙁

      • Pinky Rose says:

Those posters you mention (LAK is a special favorite) alongside the original kitten and ours truly Dame Snark are absolutely dears. Super funny, witty, smart and cute.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        Pinky Rose
It amazes me how someone’s kind words can brighten the worst day – even when they don’t know you personally.
        *very* much appreciate this.

      • Pinky Rose says:

Aww, Dame Snak. It is true, even though I don’t know you in person I can see from your comments that you are very nice. Love your posts.

  13. Francis says:

I’ve been hearing since last night, that it’s a break for a breather to sort out various issues and don’t be surprised if the two get back together by Christmas.

  14. Francis says:

Prince Harry is in Miami according to USMag.
He will miss Camilla’s brothers service.
“Prince Harry Parties in Miami Ahead of Pal’s Wedding, Misses Mark Shand’s Funeral” US Magazine

    • Dame Snarkweek says:

I probably would have attended but perhaps Charles and Camilla gave the boys their blessing not to go?

      • bluhare says:

I suspect that’s the case. I have to say, Camilla looked really broken up. She must have been because Charles held her hand.

      • AM says:

I would expect that William, at least, had some sort of relationship with Mark because of William’s interest in conservation. But I agree with you both that they were probably excused by Charles and Camilla.

Camilla looked devastated – honestly almost too private a moment for the cameras to capture.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

Beyond sad. I am very close to my brother and find Camilla’s loss especially harrowing.

      • Suze says:

It’s very possible they didn’t know Camilla’s brother that well and there was no expectation that they would attend.

The Shand family was reportedly very, very close. I am sure Camilla is devastated, as I would be.

      • Ronia says:

Neither William nor Harry have anything to do at this funeral! It would be highly inappropriate and I’m very surprised to see it suggested… here of all places. Etiquette! It brings me shudders to even imsgine it. Completely inappropriate and no, no Diana drama involved, pure etiquette.

      • Suze says:

Ronia – I am confused. I am not being snarky. Why would it be poor form for them to go to Camilla’s brother’s funeral?

She is their stepmother, and by all accounts, they get on quite well with her.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        Ronia
There is nothing wrong with showing a united family front when possible. Besides, Shand’s life work was about preserving endangered Asian elephants and conserving their habitats. The princes’ involvement with the Tusk Trust may have actually acquainted them with Shand at some point in the past. How would their attendance constitute ‘Diana drama’?

    • Suze says:

Hm. Miami? That’s a fair distance from Memphis.

Is Harry going to do a cross-country US run now that he is free?

Yes, it would have been better PR if he went to Camilla’s brothers funeral and then flew right into Memphis for the wedding. But Harry is a bit of a lad, still, and his sudden bachelorhood was probably too tempting.

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

He’s already been seen chatting up an attractive brunette at a swank Miami restaurant/night club.

  15. SoCal says:

Shame, I was looking forward to Cressida becoming HRH Princess Henry, Duchess of Clarence lol.

    • Dame Snarkweek says:

Cam of Cornwall, Cathy of Cambridge and Cressy of Clarence. What a waste of C’s.

    • CuriousCole says:

Not another C Duchy! I’ve actually been tempted to look up the titles William might have gotten, to make sure Harry and his mystery wife won’t add another DoC to the list. It’s Crowded enough as it is.
Dame – I like your Cam of Cornwall, very snappy, I’ve never heard it shortened to that before 🙂

    • Dame Snarkweek says:

      Corny, conspicuous, crazy cool
      😉

  16. aquarius64 says:

Frankly I think the push for the marriage was damage control for Harry’s Vegas misadventure. Harry and Cressy was suppose to be together during the royal shenanigans – where the whole world saw the ginger prince standing buck naked in the middle of a hotel room filled with women. (I trust the bodyguards on duty were canned for negligence – not confiscating cell phones. ) Cressy was not ready for prime time; and Harry simply was not ready for that trip down the aisle. William and Kate have assured the succession with the birth of George, so Harry should feel no pressure to marry. As if Cressy is as bohemian as they say, I think she may not be jonesing for the HRH as many think.

  17. The Original Mia says:

Who knows why this perfectly undercover couple decided to split. It’s probably a little bit of all the gossip out there. For all those looking to help Harry over his pain, head to Miami. He’s been spotted partying with a bunch of guys and ladies.

  18. pleaseicu says:

Cressida is taking a page out of Kate Middleton’s playbook — taking an unspecified amount of time off in the wake of her break-up with a prince. But still not heartbroken enough to stop from getting pap’d every day.

  19. Suze says:

I continue my run of boring reasonableness to say that they both seem very young for their ages and probably neither is ready for marriage, if this string of leaks is any indication.

Harry does seem to like the drama girls, though. I fear he will be bored if he does meet and marry some mature, easygoing woman who will make a good royal. The women Harry likes to sleep with and the women who have the hallmarks of a good royal wife do not seem to be at all in the same set – it will make for an interesting future for him.

    • bluhare says:

      zzzzzzzzz

      😉

      • Suze says:

        LOL LOL LOL

        I KNOW.

Let’s hope Harry meets some thrice divorced Southern belle this weekend and brings her back to London – that’ll liven things up!

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        Yee haw!

      • Liberty says:

My money is on a sultry Argentinian polo-follower girl!

      • Dame Snarkweek says:

        Like his grandfather?
        😉

      • bluhare says:

Well that woke me up! Bonus points for excellent use of the word “thrice”, Suze.

      • Pinky Rose says:

OMG, an Argentinian like Concepcion Cochrane Blaquier who is going to the Pelly’s wedding this Saturday? Now that would be something extremely hilarious and she could be the exciting girlfriend everyone is waiting ,ha. And considering his grandad as Dame Snark said reportedly had an affair with Cochrane’s grandmother (Manela Nelson Hunter), it would be actually meant to be. Ok now I stop with the speculation and possibilities.

  20. Deedee says:

I doubt Harry is ready to settle down, yet. The man is a partier.
