Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt to star together in a film Jolie wrote: awesome?

wenn21095527

Ten years ago, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were finishing the first phase of filming for Mr. & Mrs. Smith. They would spend the summer apart (as Angelina traveled around with Maddox, while Brad filmed Oceans 12 in Europe while Jennifer Aniston came along for the ride), then return to LA in the Fall of 2004 to complete filming on MAMS. That film changed everything, at least gossip-wise. It was also the biggest film of both of their careers at that point – it made the most money, it debuted at #1, and it was a well-needed hit for both of them. But it also made them a couple.

Ten years later… they’re still together, they’ve got six kids, they’ve accumulated Oscars and other blockbuster films and they’ve managed to do it all without ever working (on screen) together ever again. Unless you count A Mighty Heart, which Brad produced and Angelina starred in. They were supposed to do Ridley Scott’s The Counselor together, but Angelina dropped out (probably because she was undergoing a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery). Still, it’s unusual that they haven’t managed to find a project that they could do together in all this time. So, of course, Angelina wrote something for both of them.

Here is a film that instantly becomes the one every studio will want on their slate. Angelina Jolie is in early talks to star with Brad Pitt in an original script that she has written. It’s in the early talking stages and nothing is solidified, but I hear it’s happening. I don’t know a lot more at this point.

The film hasn’t locked distribution, but it will team Jolie and Pitt together for the first time since 2005′s Mr. And Mrs. Smith. That film displayed an intense chemistry onscreen, and this was before they became a couple offscreen. Jolie is working on post-production on Unbroken, the adaptation she directed of the Laura Hillenbrand book. Universal has set a December 25 release for the harrowing survival tale of Olympic track prodigy-turned-WWII POW Lou Zamperini. It’s expected to be right in the Oscar mix. Unbroken was a hotly contested directing project, and Jolie won the job with a presentation that wowed the studio, where Donna Langley also was very impressed with her directorial debut, In The Land Of Blood And Honey. She next stars in Disney’s Maleficent, which opens May 30 with Jolie playing the title character in the revisionist version of the fairy tale.

Will reveal more when I know it. Pitt is coming off 12 Years A Slave and most recently wrapped the David Ayer-directed WWII tank movie Fury, which QED produced and Sony is releasing. Stay tuned. She is repped by UTA and Media Talent Group Pitt by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment.

[From Deadline]

I need to know the plot. Is it a romance? A comedy? Doubtful. While I polish my Brangeloonie badges regularly, I don’t think it’s a Brangeloonie Catastrophe to suggest that Angelina probably can’t write comedies. So, it’s probably a drama, maybe something with some romance. Maybe it’s about war and refugees and…? God knows. But I am glad that they’re going to work together again. It’s sweet.

That’s awesome I’m looking forward to it.
They had such great chemistry in Mr. and Mrs. Smith…well, um, yeah

    • Nikki says:

My body is ready for “Driving Miss Daisy 2”.

      • Artemis says:

Pitt crying in the back seat.

Or a ‘Little Miss Sunshine 2″. The whole family on a trip to a humanitarian convention. Along the way they encounter hijinks and mental breakdowns (6 kids, it writes itself). Jolie is driving of course. Pitt crying the back seat. Shiloh will be sporting the Rachel in a subtle reference to the never-ending Triangle.

      • V4Real says:

Yep I agree that script pretty much writes itself. Shiloh will be the breakout lead of course becoming the third Oscar winner in the family. She’s such a boss.

      • Artemis says:

They could just make Pitt hold the camera so he won’t ruin the shots with his presence :D. I would watch. And she would win Best Directing and Best Film. She can thank Brad for holding the camera and her heart.

Pitt will sit a row behind his family next to Billy Bob…crying. Shiloh will not attend because she’s not about that life. She will send a video of her accepting the Oscar, shot in the boy’s section of rock/punk clothing shop while wearing a Friends t-shirt. And people will deal!

      • LoTTa says:

@Artemis ROFL and CITBP (crying in the back pitt(y)ing) 😀

      • Cecilia says:

        Artemis…Brilliant!! Lol !!

  2. lower-case deb says:

what’s the chance for it to be like Beyond Borders redux?

given they had so much fun filming Mr Mrs Smith, wouldn’t be surprised to see something with an action flavor.

action-humanitarian? that’ll be so trippy. trippy bad or trippy good is the question.

    • LoTTa says:

Beyond Borders was such an epic hotness/heartbreak, I will forever mourne her not getting it on with Clive Owen *.* also, that movie deserved more of everything, can’t believe Mr.&Mrs. Smith was most successful of their careers, it was such a bad joke that even their ‘chemistry’ wasn’t enough to patch my disbelief that was actually filmed :/

  3. Kristin says:

I must say, I’ve worked with my fiance a few times in my life, and those jobs were more enjoyable because of it. I completely understand her wanting to work on something together.

  4. Frida_K says:

Oh, now this is exciting news!

I wonder if any of the little ones will have a cameo?

    🙂

  5. Lucretia says:

They had so much chemistry in MAMS. They looked like they belonged together. And they do! Looking forward to whatever this is.

    • Camille (The Original) says:

      So true!

Their chemistry was electric. I don’t think I’ve seen such good chemistry (with any other actors) in a film since.

      • Artemis says:

What? You should watch any film that came out in the 80s when they went full-on raw passion in films showing male nudity during sex scenes too.

My fave is Against All Odds which has the best sex scene ever in film history. It’s iconic. Ruins + Jeff Bridges, that’s all I’m saying. Nothing tops it and nothing ever will. Lisa Bonet and Mickey Rourke in ‘Angel Heart’ is so steamy I typed it in on Google and pron sites pop up. Or Julie Christie + Donald Sutherland in ‘Don’t Look Now’. They were allowed so much more than now and it paid off because it was believable.

      • Camille (The Original) says:

MAMS wasn’t made in the 80’s lol. I said ‘since’ that movie, not movies made previously (I meant movies that have been made *since* MAMS, obviously that wasn’t clear enough for you). Nice try though, do carry on :).

And yes I have seen all of those movies (and many, many more besides..). I’m guessing you are quite young? 🙂

      • Artemis says:

What do you mean ‘nice try’? I wasn’t trying to insult at all. Just bad reading comprehension on my part!

Well I loved Emma Stone and Gosling, they had good chemistry (and her and Garfield too). She has something that works. Gyllenhaal and Hathaway are crazy good together (which is why people always hoped they’d be a couple). Blanchett and Pitt worked suprisingly good too.

        Yes I am young, point?

  6. Maya says:

Hell ya – I cannot wait to see Brad and Angelina acting together again. They don’t have to be romantically involved in the movie – as long as they are in the same frame I will be ecstatic.

They had off the chart chemistry on Mr and Mrs Smith and they still have that same chemistry of screen as well. I cannot wait to see if they will be able to create the same heat, passion and chemistry this time around.

  7. Kiddo says:

It depends on how good of a writer she is. If she’s terrible, no amount of chemistry can fix that.

    • mercy says:

I hope for their sake it’s a good one. What I really want to know is when has she had time to write a script!?

      • Emma - the JP Lover says:

@Mercy, who wrote: “What I really want to know is when has she had time to write a script!?”

Well, there was that time last year when she was recovering from a double mastectomy. But my guess is Angie is just good at multitasking. 🙂

    • Lucinda says:

Exactly. I could see this being a real train wreck.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Has she written anything before? This was news to me.

      • lower-case deb says:

        ITLOBAH.
and we know how it turned out. a flop box officemovie-wise, a success humanitarian/political-wise

      • lenje says:

Well, ITLOBAH is interesting to me because I’m quite familiar with the subject and is relevant to my work. But I suspect not so much by the American audience. Kind of like Life of Pi and the Adventures of Tintin, although perhaps ITLOBAH didn’t enjoy the worldwide success these two did.

      • Emma - the JP Lover says:

@lower-case deb, who wrote: “ITLOBAH. and we know how it turned out. a flop box officemovie-wise, a success humanitarian/political-wise”

Okay, let’s see if this is something you’re simply unaware of or if it’s just another FF or IUC talking point. If the first, we (probably) won’t see this misinformation again in the thread … but if the second, the ‘facts’ I’m about to post won’t penetrate the negative zeal one way or the other.

“In the Land of Blood and Honey” made a worldwide total of $303,877 because the film’s widest release was only ’18’ theaters. This particular film wasn’t made to make money. It was made to bring awareness.

The average film is released in 2,100 – 3,100 theaters. There is a vast difference between a ‘box office flop’ with a wide release in the U.S. alone in 2,100 – 3,100 theaters and a film with a ‘worldwide’ release of only 18 theaters … right?

        http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=inthelandofbloodandhoney.htm

      • Josephina says:

She wrote, produced and directed ITLOBAH. AND she received critical acclaim for directing this movie. The movie won several international awards and recognition for its subject matter.

She said she made this movie to bring awareness , which it did. There have been many serious global post-discussions about the subject matter, and I think, given Angie’s stance as a world citizen and her push for consciousness about rape being used a weapon during war, that that was more of the point that this story needed to be commercialized to some degree.

It would have been only a bonus if ITLOBAH was a commercial success as well.

      • Cecilia says:

“This particular film wasn’t made to make money. It was made to bring awareness.”

How can it bring awareness if nobody saw it??

      • Emma - the JP Lover says:

@Cecilia, who wrote: “How can it bring awareness if nobody saw it??”

Well … many people ‘here’ haven’t seen the film and yet they are well aware of it. I’d say the film has done its job. 🙂

Seriously though, the film has gained the attention of government officials around the world, further shining a light on the topic of war-time rape and violence against women. The critical acclaim and worldwide attention “In the Land of Blood and Honey” has garnered has been widely reported on in Main Stream media and even here at Celebitchy.

Are you really ignorant of this or are you just giving lip service to ‘talking points’ for the cause?

      • @Cecilia
The ‘right’ people saw it–the reason William Hague even started working with Angelina on making Warzone Rape a crime (for over a year now) is because he saw her film.

And the movie is on Netflix–which is where I saw it. And let’s face it, it’s a hard movie to sell. She was the only recognizable name in the entire cast (and she wasn’t even in the movie); the rest were all locals. Actually–I think she made the film for the Bosnian/Serbian people, because she did a ton of press in Sarajevo. Also–if SHE hadn’t been involved with the film, we wouldn’t have heard anything about it. It was all hinging on her name, and I think it did pretty well, all things considered.

      • JessMa says:

I like Angie and think she is a great actress, but don’t sugar coat ITLOMAH. It cost 30 million and made 300k. It has terrible reviews on rotten tomatoes. It has a terrible score on imbd. So the facts are it was a commercial and critical flop, and audiences didn’t like it. It maybe an important film, but it doesn’t change the facts.

  8. bettyrose says:

I love MAMS. I’ll watch it whenever it pops up on cable.

  9. zut alors! says:

I’m not too enthused about this news yet, but I’ve gotta hand it to Angelina. She is always moving forward, never remaining static. I love that about her the most.

    • Stormsmama says:

      Same here Zut
Love her or hate her (I love her) the woman is motivated and inspired and constantly pushing herself to grow and challenging her comfort zones. Impressive as well as admirable. All that a gorgeous. Wow.

    • bettyrose says:

      Yeah, that is so true.

  10. Elaine C says:

I have a feeling that this is going to be brutal for their marriage …

    • Mindy says:

Yup. Too much time together could be recipe for disaster. Sam Mendes and Kate Winslet working together on Revolutionary Road lead to their divorce.

      • Elaine C says:

I think it will be him not liking the script, and her thinking it’s perfect and resenting his interference…

      • Karen says:

LOL, or you know, him having an affair with Rebecca Hall.

      • Too much time together=working together for three months, when you don’t normally do so? Wow. I can see it being difficult, because you’re not used to working each other—but if you both have a good relationship with each other, then it’s not going to be bad/terrible/damaging to your marriage. Obviously Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes had issues in their marriage—I’m not seeing how filming together had anything to do with their marriage breakdown, as the movie came out in 2008, and they got divorced in 2010.

    • Lucinda says:

Not necessarily. My husband and I have done many things together that we have been told would be a real test of our marriage and we were just fine. It depends on the couple.

      • Lizzy1013 says:

My husband and I worked together before we got together. We were a great team and always talk about about how we wish we could still work together. They worked together before they got together, so I’m sure they will be fine.

    • Lena says:

Um,,Elaine C : They aren’t married. I doubt if they ever will be. I think the engagement thing was just to promote themselves.

      • Maya says:

Um – they have been the most famous, powerful and followed couple in the world for the past decade or so. Not only are they haunted by the paps but also normal people gets excited and takes pictures whenever they see them – from America to Australia.

They don’t need to do anything to get attention.

Why can’t people just admit they this is a couple who loves each other, raises 6 children and now they want to get married. They said that they won’t get married until gay marriages are made legal in USA and that was only made legal a short time ago. They could have been waiting for that and also for Angelina to complete her surgeries as well.

It really is pathetic that people not only calls this relationship fake, a brand but that some actually wishes for them to break up – they pray for a family of 8 to break up.

      • Sal says:

You wish Lena. Pretty bad job promoting it when she hid it away for months, huh? I mean, its extraordinary you say that because the facts don’t back you up. I mean, its not like she went on People magazine twice talking about it and her wedding plans, and a talk show talking all about being ‘verklempt’ and all about her wedding plans like a certain other woman. Angelina never even acknowledges it or their engagement. Pretty bizarre way of using it to promote her, by not talking about it or wearing it all the time. One could accuse her of being embarrassed or ashamed before they ever could of promoting it by hiding it.

    • Ginger says:

My husband and I run a business together and frequently shoot the same events. I love working with him. It won’t necessarily be a bad thing for Brad and Angie. I LOVED MAMS. They are really fun to watch together onscreen.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I agree. I think that’s just wishful thinking on some people’s part. Lots of couples work together.

      • Yeah, I’m not seeing how it would be SO terrible. I don’t think Brad and Angelina blindly praise each other’s work. I remember her talking about when she wrote ITOLBH…saying she showed it to Brad after a long time, and he said that ‘there might be something there that’s interesting’. He didn’t say she was amazing right off the bat, or anything like that.

And their schedules wouldn’t be all that different–it’s not like they’re used to being apart all the time. They’re always together, so I don’t see how that would be different. In fact, they’d probably be grateful that neither of them have to go through fourteen hour plane rides to see each other.

  11. lisa2 says:

I don’t know if it is a full script or more an IDEA..

Which ever it is HELL YA HELL YA.. I’ve been wanting an on screen reunion the minute I walked out of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. They were so hot together on screen.. but also off

You either that chemistry or you don’t. I know there will be people saying that MMS wer boring or not good. WRONG.. it was a fun film and many many people feel that way. I know when it come on TV it is always trending on twitter. Never gets old.

I may have to pop the dvd in some time today to celebrate and remember.

10 years almost and they are going strong. Best way to thumb your nose at the people that said they wouldn’t last a year.

  12. Intro Outro says:

I like them as a couple and i am very appreciative of Angelina’s humanitarian work. Don’t care about either her or him as actors – used to like Brad waaaay back in the days of Interview, Legends, Seven and particularly Fight Club. However, he’s been more or less playing the same character for years imo and has lost his hotness somewhere along the road, too =(

I didn’t like MAMS for a number of reasons, but Angelina and Brad indeed had a VAT of chemistry there. This new project might turn out good – if she is a clever writer and will use her and Brad’s strengths as actors.

    • ahoyhoy says:

You missed “Burn After Reading” then. Brad definitely played against type in that one! Hilarious.

      • Intro Outro says:

Oh yes i did! The descriptions sound promising, and it has Tilda 🙂 I’ll definitely check it out, thanks!

    • Joya says:

LMAO!! Sure and Jesse James and Gerry Lane are the “same character” or Benjamin Button and Westerall. Hilarious!

Just admit you haven’t been to a Brad Pitt film since “Ocean’s 12”.

      • Artemis says:

Just admit you haven’t been to a Brad Pitt film since “Ocean’s 12″.

        Who has?

      • lisa2 says:

        @Artemis..

MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS HAVE SEEN BRAD’S FILMS

such a shame you have missed out.

      • mimif says:

        Lol Artemis, you kill me.

      • Artemis says:

        I’ll fix that for you:

such a shame you have missed out on watching old baby, people talking about sports and 2 hour existential musings.

No thanks. I greatly prefer his older work which is just more entertaining. Don’t get me wrong, I like heavy material but only when it’s done well. Pitt is a mediocre actor so I’m only paying when his presence is lifted by a good plot + better actors. Sorry not sorry.

        @mimif

Stans be pretending that BP wasn’t getting most of that money and popularity pre-2006. BP has been killing his looks and fans softly since 2008.

      • Paige says:

“BP has been killing his looks and fans softly since 2008” That’s your opinion, dear. Why so much Brad Pitt hate?

      • Artemis says:

I don’t think you know the meaning of the word ‘hate’.

Yes my opinion and the rest of the world or did we forget the mocking of his facial hair, his bloated face, the Chanel ‘the world turns and we turn with it’ ad and some film choices like TOL and Button. Yep, I’m the only person in the ‘don’t like BP so much’ club, it’s as empty as Killing them Softly showing 😉

      • Paige says:

I would love to know what other word should be used if it isn’t “hate”. Yes, the Chanel ad that made him $6 million richer. Why only bring up the negative things, nothing positive?

      • Artemis says:

Any other word that isn’t overused and misused in internet comments made by stans perhaps?

If I would really hate him, I wouldn’t have bought several of his films (or the ones he starred in) and I certainly wouldn’t mention anything positive (like how he’s been looking really hot lately). And I wouldn’t admit here that I still watch MAMS. Didn’t I just say I loved his earlier work more yet you skipped to the ‘negative’ of course.

And the facial hair, the bloated face and some film choices…Point is, people do mock him so it’s not just ‘my opinion’. His hair choices were always under scrutiny or praised since the 90s, I mean, have you been living under a rock?

So what though? Money is money and he has enough of it. Which means he’s just greedy then? Don’t people claim BP wants ‘meaning’ in his life since starting a family? What does it matter then that he makes money off a bad ad? It’s still bad, unnecessary and it’s meaningless.

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Joya:

“LMAO!! Sure and Jesse James and Gerry Lane are the “same character” or Benjamin Button and Westerall. Hilarious! Just admit you haven’t been to a Brad Pitt film since “Ocean’s 12″.”

LOL darling, i’m glad i made you laugh, that’s always a positive experience ;D

As i said, i do prefer his older work. However, i did watch Troy, MAMS and i think it was Ocean’s Twelve? And they all made me lose interest in him. Is it that hard to imagine? 😉 Three standard Hollywood films in a row in which he didn’t exactly stretch his acting muscles and in which his characters failed to fascinate me. So i just gave up on him and turned to other things. And then recently husband had me go watch with him World War Z which i guess you’d agree is not the best film to rekindle interest in Brad Pitt 😉 It also imo justifies what i said about him playing more or less the same character for years. And then his cameo in 12 Years a Slave was just… jarring somehow and felt alien to the film. That’s my personal impression anyway.

BUT. I am ready to check out his other less Hollywood-y blockbuster-y films in between WWZ and MAMS and since i was fascinated by him once and have zero bad feelings towards him, i’ll be the first to admit i was wrong if i like those 😉 Peace!

      • Intro Outro says:

        @Artemis:

Hahaha, i had no idea about the commercials and stuff because i stopped following his career. I don’t begrudge my fav actors and actresses some cool commercials though and the $$$ they make off them, but that stuff’s gotta be classy indeed.

  13. GeeMoney says:

Love them both! I hope it’s a good film.

  14. mimif says:

I would sacrifice my first born mimosa to make this film a romcom. Somebody more clever than me now needs to devise the plot…

    • Kiddo says:

How about the never ending tale of two women: One was married to the dude, second one ‘steals’ the dude. Second has a horde of kids, first one always on baby bump watch. They team up together, another girl-buddy movie (like Cami’s) against the stans of either side, who have made their lives miserable. Hilarity ensues. /s

      • mimif says:

Obviously you’ve been attending the Franco School of (cough) Acting so you’re fired.
I want it to be like All of Me or A Fish Called Wanda, you know, an intelligent romcom. Wait, do they even make those anymore?

      • Cecilia says:

I loved All of Me. The casting & story line was on-point. Steve Martin & Lilly Tomlin had such interesting chemistry & OMG…Praka stole the show.

      • Kiddo says:

AHEM…./s….Did you miss the “/s“? James Franco Acting School, scratch that!

    • Eleonor says:

A Fish called Wanda is one of my forever movie. And Kevin Kilne was brilliant, absolutely.

      • mimif says:

Kevin Kline is so awesome in everything he does; a true renaissance man. Now there’s someone who can do a romcom, Martin too.

@Kiddo: Your obsession with Franco is starting to concern me. The End.

*giggles*…I can’t help it, you make it so easy for me.

      • Kiddo says:

How does Kevin Kline even compare? Franco is a true Renaissance man, and he does it all simultaneously. I’d like to see Kline create such a magnificent masterpiece of art: holding the camera, digging deep into his pants, while fully emoting, only through facial expression, “I need a shower desperately and some RID”.

      • mimif says:

Lol you’re fixating, Kiddo. I hate that you made me look at his Instagram. As blue marie wrote last Friday: uoıʇnqıɹʇǝɹ ǝq ןןıʍ ǝɹǝɥʇ.

      • zut alors! says:

Love, love, LOVE Kevin Kline ♥. He was also superb in In & Out and I Love You To Death.

  15. LAK says:

I am enjoying the visual of you polishing your Brangeloonie badges….LOL

  16. Andrea1 says:

After spending time in the oil creeks of Nigeria celebitchy is my first stop. What an amazing trip!
On to the matter at hand! Yes I want to see them doing something together! It would be a great form of f*uck you to people who said they wouldn’t last together.

  17. Jessiebes says:

Interesting. I’m assuming that she is writing this with their kids in mind though, so I’m personally thinking it will be an action/comedy with some romance film, maybe with a message. Which I LOVE

  18. pru says:

This should be interesting, whether good or bad. Unless it looks horrible, I’d probably see it.
I’m kind of amused by them having to negotiate & on this being in “the early talking stages.” Did she write it for him? Is she talking him into to? It may be just odd wording in the article, but something seems weird there.

    • Katherine says:

They would be negotiating with studios, financial backers and distributors, maybe writers to polish it off and directors. Not sure how one gets out of that they are negotiating with each other – though they’d probably have to work out their schedules.

Should be very interesting. Some witty dialogue by Sorkin would be nice.

  19. xboxsucks says:

    i here for this

  20. Karen says:

Oh, I’m going to be there. This film might not garner critical acclaim, but it’s basically guaranteed commercial success. They are a pair of bonafide movie stars, one of the only ones left.

Another celeb blogger said this film would be a marketing dream and they’d still make millions if they photoshopped a new title onto a Mr and Mrs Smith poster. Hahaha.

  21. Hissyfit says:

Are they acting in it together or it’s a film she’s directing and he’s producing? So they’ve been together for 10 years now? Wow.

  22. anonymous says:

The movie will probably be dubbed fiction but knowing the circumstances it might have some things that mirror their relationship and clear up some misconceptions about how the two of them got together. which woman want to be known as a home wrecker, Jolie is no home wrecker she did not hog tie Pitt he probably was not happy anymore with Jennifer Aniston. His marriage soured.

  23. khaveman says:

    yawn. Overrated.

  24. MrsBPitt says:

It wouldn’t surprise me, if it was some kind of animated kids movie…where they do the voices…I’ll bet it would be something for their kids…and that would be pretty cool..

    • Mrs Odie says:

I agree. I think a kid movie would be great. Only wrinkle is that kids usually think their own parents are super dorky and they would have no interest in watching it.

  25. Mrs Odie says:

I like Michael K’s idea that this film will drive Brad into Jennifer Aniston’s arms in a shocking reversal of fortune.

    • zut alors! says:

      Fantasy BALLS!

    • epiphany says:

Well OF COURSE none of the previous statements criticizing Jolie get the “balls” rolling, but say anything negative about Aniston and here come the JenHens. So much for non-partisanship.

      • Tulip Garden says:

I thought “balls” is always the right answer whenever there is mention of “whoever” shouldn’t be mentioned in a thread, in this case , Jolie-Pitt thread so should have nothing to do with Aniston. Right? Anyone? Is someone going to throw a ball at me or not? (Stamps foot)

      • lenje says:

Right on, Tulip! Some people just can’t resist it, I suppose.

      • Cecilia says:

No need to throw a BALL at you, Tulip. You got your BALLS in order.

    • Sal says:

Seriously? Like Theroux and Aniston doing Wanderlust together led Justin into Aniston’s arms even though he had a 14 year old partner and a life and home with her? Well I can certainly see your point. Aniston is a homewrecker so she’s done it once, why not again.

  26. kay says:

They’ve been together for 10 years? wow, then why are some people still hurt?
Anyways can’t believe she’s just 38,she has accomplished too much already, she should take some time out and res, love her to bits.
(Andrea can’t believe you were in my part of the world, hope you enjoyed yourselve.)

    • Andrea1 says:

Kay exactly they have been together for 10years and have stood the test of time and people are still angry at them.
Yes Kay! I had an amazing time. Nigeria is such a blessed country and its people are warm and welcoming very friendly. Its a rich country only for the bad leaders. And I hope you guys overcome it soonest. I told my man we have to go back. His been telling Me girl you need to come to Nigeria forget about what you see and read on the news. And it was actually great. Anyways we will be back in June. Will spend some time in Abuja, Port harcourt and Lagos and I just can’t wait. On another note I made new friends Adekunle and Kayode and we call dem Kay1 and Kay2 perhaps either of it is your name because I see you go by Kay. Am So inlove with your country and I will help correct that notion that Nigerians are criminals and crafty people because they are not well expect for some few. They actually love to live life despite the hardship some face! Sorry for the long comment.

      • mimif says:

Fascinating, I enjoyed your comment. I wanted to ask up thread, but didn’t want to be nosy. 🙂

    • Sal says:

I think its just under 9 years actually. I agree with you. Why do people hate them so much? They are good moral people who have never done a thing to hurt anyone. And they are great role models. I’d love my children, if I had any, to admire Angelina, rather than Paris Hilton or Lohan or Aniston.

  27. BNA FAN says:

I’ve been waiting 10 years to watch Brad and Angie in the big screen again. I hope by next year summer we will see their hot chemistry. Best summer fun movie in my opinion.

  28. Godwina says:

Hm…I may be one of the rare people who didn’t really like MAMS and didn’t think the onscreen chem was all that, BUT say for the sake of argument I’m just missing it. The fact that they may have had gonzo onscreen chem when their relationship was new or latent doesn’t mean we’ll see that 10 years later. I imagine that chemistry was a product of time and (illicit) circumstance. So I wouldn’t bet the farm on that, but rather take a wait-n-see approach. 🙂

    • Artemis says:

I like MAMS, still watch it when I’m bored (the good bits) but I don’t like the fight scene in the house. They could’ve easily killed each other yet we’re supposed to believe it rekindles their ‘love’ for each other. Nope. Especially not when the next scene reveals they don’t feel any regret after killing people. They are assasins, trained to kill and not care. They are a couple who weren’t in love anymore for a long time, I didn’t buy that they weren’t capable of killing in each other. The ‘comedy’ part of the film is twisted and confusing.

      • lisa2 says:

Obviously they were capable of killing each other. They were killers. The fact that in this instance they didn’t and kept missing is the POINT.

They didn’t want to kill the other one because they did in fact love each other.

Not sure how that point of the film was not easy to grasp.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Wow, Lisa2, you’re great at explaining things. Did you learn that at Attila the Hun Charm School?

      • Artemis says:

What part of They are assassins, trained to kill and not care. did you not understand?

They were highly skilled assassins who lied from the start to each other and only proceeded to lie more about the stupidest things (Jane not cooking, being Jewish, hiring actors for the wedding & John studied art history). Then you have the little moments where Jane hides her ‘sexy’ stockings for her OWN husband. Or John complimenting her and she’s not bothered. Jane always seemed like the one who would have no problems killing his ass off (see car scene after she puts a bomb in his jacket) + the fact that it was John who initiated the reconciliation. They were clearly estranged…hello they were in therapy and John doesn’t even know how long they’ve been married and Jane is cold as ice. He’s the typical ‘laid-back dude’ while Jane was much more competitive and meticulous (as seen in the date scene, curtain scene and interrogation scene).

Their marriage was a fraud, it was literally build on lies from day 1. They came together during a chaotic time that no doubt heightened the initial lust phase but wasn’t meant to culminate in marriage. They married too quickly. There is a reason they didn’t meet in a quiet place you know. Action prickles their senses and makes them forget they don’t really belong together. Even after great sex they still argue and bicker all the way to the end of the film which reveals why exactly they are NOT compatible. Sex is not going to make your marriage better, common values is. Every scene were they seem to be close or open comes AFTER something chaotic happened. Take that away and they become an incompatible couple again. MAMS is two strangers getting to know each other throughout the whole film so why can’t these trained assassins kill a stranger all of sudden?

The film needed a happy ending but their sex being a ’10’ did not mean they had a better marriage. They just escaped a life threatening situation and nothing says that they actually dealt with all the other issues they had.

You grasped the basics of the film but it was much more than that. They didn’t kill each other because the film had comedic and romantic elements and it served the story, not because they were ‘sew in lurve’. Please, people in love don’t shoot at each other, which btw was ridiculous because they have perfect aim and they were really AIMING (unless you think that creating a gas explosion that could blow her face off was meant to miss her??? ). The comedic fights were twisted. Even Pitt had issues beating a woman as per Jolie (Empire magazine 2005) and they couldn’t let Pitt hit her in the face (because that would mean people could realise domestic violence was used as a set-up for a hot sex scene). Violence to rediscover passion. Umh ok then.

      • Cecilia says:

LOL!!! Oh Good Names, stop mincing around & tell it like it is. Lisa2 attended BALL State University, as she was not accepted into Nancy Taylor Charm School.

      • lisa2 says:

        @GNAT

yep.. I went for 3 years.. never graduated but had a great time on campus.

I still go to the reunions every year too.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Lol Lisa2, maybe you can teach me the handshake

      • lisa2 says:

        @GNAT

It’s a 4 step combo thing. too hard to explain. If I ever meet you maybe. But then again no because I would be kicked out.

        sorry 🙂

      • John says:

Wow, to not even graduate from Testicle Tech takes a lot of determination.

  29. John says:

If she’s writing it, I don’t see a big hit. Chances are it’s being “conceived by” her and they’re giving her the writer credit.
I’ll probably be missing this one.

  30. Ennie says:

She is always moving forward, hardly ever idle. It is commendable. I wish I had the drive to be more like that. I know a few people like her, but a lot more of the people I know are more conformist (sp?) types.
I would think that it will be some kind of awareness raising script. What kind? who knows. Probably not a blockbuster, but more of a low profile indie, as her other personal project ITLOBAH.
I wish them luck and nice reviews.

  31. Sorella says:

Exxxxxciting news! They had amazing chemistry in MAMS. Looking forward to hearing more about the script. And wow Angelina is inspiring how she manages to throw her hat and do so many diverse things, she’s always changing and that’s why I like her, she’s so much more interesting to me compared to most other actresses.

  32. kay says:

@Sorry Andrea, can’t reply directly. But I’m happy you had a nice time,we can be nice when we want to,especially to people with American accents and by that I mean anyone who doesn’t speak like us.You picked nice states to visit but I’ll have to warn you about Abuja, lately there’s been a lot of bombing there. But if you still need another state to visit try Cross River, that’s where I stay and It’s really nice, believe me you’ll like it.
I agree about the bad leaders part but I guess it’s our fate and we’ve accepted it.
Oh and my name’s Esohe,I’m from Edo state,I just love the name Kay.Those people you mentioned are yoruba’s and they’re from the west.

  33. Camille (The Original) says:

    Cool. Hope it’s a good story/script.

  34. Anon says:

Is there an interview on camera, with a link, where one or both stated this for a fact? Because I don’t believe this article for one minute. I just don’t think they will do another movie together again. Maybe, he might produce something she has written and will direct, that I would be believe.
I finally watched ’12 Years A Slave’ last night, everyone that worked on that film should be so proud they were a part of it. As hard as it was to watch, one of the best movies I have ever seen.

    • lisa2 says:

I don’t know if this is true.. HOPE IT IS; maybe when Angie is in Paris or London this week someone will ask her.

She did an interview some time back where she said that they had been looking for a project and that they had an idea. This could be it. Both of them have said more than once that they would like to work on screen together again. So this is not a far fetched story and out of no where.

ITAWY.. 12 Years was a powerful film.

  35. Flim says:

Oh, boy–that MAMS chemistry was palpable. But what else would you expect from two magnetic personalities forbidden from touch but for the [relative] cover of the big screen? Now that they’ve had each other, what chemistry can we possibly expect? Only forbidden and scandalous fruit reads on film…

  36. Kim1 says:

Every other week there is a rumor about some film project. An example Brad reuniting with Tom Cruise, Brad doing romantic War film.Much Ado about nothing until they confirm it.

  37. Nene says:

Man,their chemistry on MAMS was off the charts compared to others movies in same genre at the time-even in the past decade.
Whenever I come across MAMS on cable I get hooked, not because of the greatness of the movie or their acting prowess- some movies are just for fun- but only for their amazing chemistry.
Only a handful of actors have had really believable chemistry on screen in recent times, say from the 90s to date.
Leo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet -Titanic and Revolutionary Road.
Richard Gere and Julia Roberts -Pretty Woman and Runaway Bride.
Antonio Banderes and Catherine Zeta James – Zorro.
Ryan Gosling and Rachal McAdams- Notebook.
Keenu Reeves and Charlize Theron- Sweet November.
No wonder many fans wanted these stars to happen at the time for real. And also why they remain good friends even after years of being together on screen.

  38. captain says:

How can something be awsome before it came to exist. Probably some film about Africa, something raw, shocking, making Lars v Trier cry in the corner. Then Oscar as a writer/director. Yeah, okay.

  39. aenflex says:

    LOL. Gigli. 2.0
