Here are some photos from last night’s Cannes Film Festival premiere of Mr. Turner, again bringing out lots of fashion girls and fun styles. Let’s get to it! Blake Lively wore this Chanel Spring 2014 Couture gown, which… I mean, she has a banging body. This gown just emphasizes how Blake’s body is incredible. If I had my way, I would have made the dress longer, perhaps with a train, and I would have snatched that chintzy wrap from her so the whole look would be cleaner. On the runway, this dress seemed more like a tea-length, so I kind of wonder if this is just some awkward tailoring. Still, everything else looks good – her hair looks fluffy and beautiful and her makeup looks fresh and pretty. Her jewels are Lorraine Schwartz and the heels are Sophia Webster ‘Etta’ pumps.
Julianne Moore in a custom Louis Vuitton Fall 2014 gown with LV accessories (clutch and belt). From the neck up, she’s beautiful and I love her. But God help me, Julianne Moore needs a new stylist. She’s needed a new stylist for years now. Her red carpet style always hurts me. And I feel like she’s really drawn to these kinds of gowns too – these gowns that look like two ugly dresses hatef—ked and made one really ugly dress baby.
Zoe Saldana in Jason Wu Fall 2014. Personally, I think Zoe always looks try-hard on the red carpet. Like, she always has that look on her face like “MODEL. FACE. POSE. SMOLDER.” But the reality is that she just looks like she’s taking it way too seriously. I think Wu wanted the dress to look slinky, but it just looks sort of boring and zzzz….

Liya Kebede in a Roberto Cavalli mini. Eh. Cavalli and Cannes go hand-in-hand. I’m sure Mr. Cavalli is already there, on his yacht with his young nurse/girlfriend. This dress is boring and standard-issue for Cannes, is what I’m saying.
This lady is named Elena Lenina. And she is fabulous. Would you have the BALLS to walk the red carpet with that necklace?

The dress has too much going on. Silly waist, pockets, sheer with feathery panels, beaded bust … and then her hair covering it all. They are a boring couple. Now Liya in that mini Cavalli =- wow.
The length of that dress is criminal. The puffiness is laughable, and the colour insipid. That is all.
Blake looks like a slutty wedding cake topper. I am looking askance at her. Someone spray her with “Boring Begone!”
Yes! Blake’s hair and fake tan are the same gross matching orange color. It looks so weird and cheap.
The two most interesting things about Blake:
1. Her body. Its banging, bolt ons or not.
2. How she played Leonardo DiCaprio. Wasn’t that the last time she was at Cannes?
How did she ‘play’ Leo? She had a nice Summer, he needed a beard – it was a win win. As for Affleck now that’s a different thing.

How old is this Miss Lively person? I was of the understanding (from what young friends say), that she was fairly young, but she looks about 40ish. Try-hard 40ish.
She won’t cut her hair cause she doesn’t have much besides it, they’re her best feature. Look at her pics in a sleek bun/ponytail etc, you take away the hair and it’s very clear just how plain her features are.
She should’ve gotten smaller tits, they look silly cause she’s so slim.

I’d say she’s still above Alba’s level. She get’s to go to Cannes and wear Chanel haute couture, that’s beyond Alba’s reach. She’s more like a low rent Diane Kruger.
Blake, like the pictured Julianne and Zoe, is there as a L’Oreal ambassador.
L’Oreal girls are alloted times and dates for their Cannes’ appearances per their contracts.
I dunno why some are singling Blake out here as if she just showed up to Cannes for the free food!

Hate the dress. Hate sparkles. More than anything, I loathe the optical illusion that makes a caricature out of the *ridiculous* expectations that contemporary culture places on our bodies.
That dress is straight up ugly. She looks like some type of light fixture. On top of it all she looks old. Julianne Moore looks younger and fresher. Hate the fashion on all the ladies though.
The dress is hideous and bizarre and Blake styled it extra tacky with the huge hair, pink lips, and glittering earrings. She’s a very attractive woman, but, its the bolt on boobs and the tiny waist that pain me the most. Its just such a horrid, out of date version of what a perfect woman should like. More Sparkles! More Pink! More Boobs! More Hair! More Blonde!
When I saw these pictures, I was reminded of “Boobs Legsly”, is the moniker the GFY gals gave her. She always must show off boobs or legs, or preferably, both. She probably loved this dress when she saw it as it gave her the opportunity to show it all off , with the added miniature Barbie-doll waist. Plus, always posing with an open mouth? Yep, ridiculous.

You are so right! It makes the skin on her upper chest look sunken and washed out. Julianne’s look is usually on the play- it-safe/boring side, but apparently when she tries to be edgy it’s a complete fail.

I was going to post the same thing! I never got the hype over her and she always looked older than her age to me. Especially in that movie she was in not too long ago. Can’t remember the name. Salma Hayeck was in it? Anyway she was supposed to be a teen still in highschool in that movie. In one scene she is at the mall and calls her mom and I’m just thinking “Yea, no.” the whole time.
And IMO she looks even older now and it’s only been a few years. I don’t get it. I mean, she IS attractive. There is nothing wrong with being older and older =/= ugly. That’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is….. I don’t understand why or what it is that ages her features? Is it the laugh lines? And if it is — it’s weird because I actually think they’re kind of…cute? Sigh. well, there were rumors that she fudged her age, so commonly done in the music and movie businesses. Maybe that’s true in her case, which would explain her looking ‘older’.

I asked the same question up-thread. I thought it was just me, not usually following celebrities of any kind. My daughter and her friends watched some series she was in, but I understood her to be young, like them. She looks much, much older than in other pictures I’ve seen. Does anyone know her age?
Extreme diets will thin out the face and cause a sunken appearance, and also her make up is ashy here for some reason? I’m sure she will live to regret the gigantic breast augmentation which contributes to an outdated appearance.

Blake’s absolutely beautiful and the dress is kind of amazing (it’s the evening dress version of those “optical illusion” dresses that Keira Knight et. al have been wearing, right?). There’s just always 3-5 cm too much cleavage with Blake when she does red carpets. Quite often she’s at the line of “would you look at those!?!” when she’s obviously wanting to be at “old school bombshell”.
I don’t know Liya Kebede but she is the best dressed by far and she is gorgeous!!

Not in love with Blake’s dress, I do love the jewellery, hair and make up. She has an incredible body, she looked really goood in the MET gala dress. The deep red Gucci number and the short white embellished number are my favourites of hers on the Cannes red carpet so far.

Julianne’s gown, wrong color on her, wrong gown on her. She has always had questionable taste for these red carpet things. This is one of those times she didn’t get it right. But at 53 and no overbotoxed, fillered face, she gets a pass, because she is still so beautiful and showing her lessers how to age and look younger and not destroy her face.
They had a photo of her at a basketball game with her husband a month back or so. She had on jeans, etc., and minimal makeup. There was more than one photo and she looked great in all of them. She looked so fresh and natural even without the right lighting, etc. She looked amazing. I can’t believe she’s 53.
I would say Blake Lively is the only person I can think of that can make a Chanel dress look like Marchesa, but that IS a terrible dres, especially from a house like Chanel.
