Katy Perry and Madonna both star on the cover of V magazine’s summer issue with an S&M theme. These are the preview images. Katy has easily captured the pinup vibe of the shoot, which isn’t too far off from her usual image (minus the cotton candy). As always, Madge is grabbing onto the nearest starlet and pretending to be one of the cool kids. Here’s the Madonna image:
Back in the day, Madonna was much too cool for this type of shoot. Madonna used to star in her own coffee-table art books! They were obscene, but at least they were original. Sorta.
We’ll have to wait for the rest of the Madge-Katy shoot. For the moment, here’s a slight diversion. Katy has broken up with her latest dude, DJ Diplo. They haven’t been together long after hooking up at Coachella. Diplo may have had some Sparkly competition at Coachella, but the big D came out on top. At least temporarily. Now the big romance is over:

Multiple sources tell In Touch the pair have split after a one-month courtship, and it’s because the 35-year-old DJ decided to call things off.
“Diplo broke up with her because she does not want to be in a serious relationship. She’s doing OK and not too sad about it. They wanted different things,” a friend of Katy’s tells the mag. “She freaked out when he wanted to introduce her to his parents. She doesn’t want to get married again – at least not anytime soon.
“She wants to date and he wanted something much more serious. It was too much, too soon.”
A second insider says Katy, 29, “was really into him,” but with both of them working so much, the producer thought it wasn’t a “fair” situation. The brunette bombshell is currently on her Prismatic World Tour in the U.K.
The romance revved up shortly after the “Roar” singer ended her on-and-off relationship with crooner John Mayer earlier this year.
She was previously married to Russell Brand.

Is this surprising at all? Katy’s gone on world tour. The last time she did that, she ended up with divorce papers from Russell Brand. Katy’s not the sharpest tool, but she knows the drill. She’s not looking for some lifelong romance right now, and — if this is true — Diplo sounds like a fool for suggesting something serious so soon.
Who should Katy date next? Definitely not Robert Pattinson. Katy can’t “properly fart” in front of anyone she dates, and the deed has been done. Maybe she should go for Jared Leto? I’d suggest Benji Madden, but he’s freshly taken. Oh well.

In all seriousness she should focus less on finding another gross boyfriend and more on herself and her career.
She’s on a major world tour right now and most say it’s a really great show. The attention to detail for the set design and dancers and setlist is superb. She even has an acoustic section and sounds actually good. And for energetic pop songs she’s been saavy in using great backing vocals to fill in for her vocal weaknesses in those types of songs. All pop stars do, even Gaga, so she’s no different.
So I would say she’s focusing on her career. Focusing on a personal life during tour? Not much time for that. Probably just dating for fun. Nothing wrong with that in your 20s after getting out of a relationship with a douche like John.
I have to admit the tour looks so good that I’m taking my tween niece. Surprisingly, Katy has always been a strong acoustic singer. She has an acoustic section that is so beautiful in this tour, and one of the songs I like off of her new album, By the Grace of God. Here she is singing it on her world tour this month.
She starts singing it at 2:10. One of Katy’s best vocal performances ever for those who say she has no talent.

Just one question does KP use autotune live, most acts, and certainly most pop acts, use autotune live, so it’s not actually their live singing voice you are hearing; Hell, even U2 uses backing tracks and sequencers. Bands from the 60s-80s didn’t have such enhancements available so when Donna Summer belted it out or Led Zeppelin cranked it out, that was raw and live, with misses and inflections which made the performances all the better because they weren’t perfect. That’s why actual musicians have little respect for today’s acts and much more respect for music from that era.
Katy should date Macklemore. They are both culturally insensitive and clueless.

I seriously cannot stand her talking voice its like I can’t imagine even having a conversation with her for more than a few minutes before politely walking away.
I’m with you. There isn’t one thing about her public persona that I can like. Not one.
Third that, and the fact that she’s dumb as a doorknob and will pretty much shill anything for a buck, makes her even more dislikable. Remember the phrase “selling out” Today’s so-called artists have turned that phrase on it’s head.
I don’t understand how a woman who is so successful can come of as such a loser. Really. She seems like the girl at the party who you have to make feel better about herself by getting stuck in a corner talking through her issues at the beginning, then she gets too drunk and makes a fool of herself by the end of the night.
Who should she date next? How about Madonna. I think that would be interesting. A May-December romance is a beautiful thing. Those pics are such a cliche, and these two define that word. I do not believe this one bit. Correction: I do not believe Diplo wanted a serious relationship. This seems like something her camp released to InTouch to cover up her being dumped. In my mind, she wanted something more serious and he was like “child, please”. I can’t remember the exact location of the article, but in it they asked him about his relationship with child’s mother. He barely wanted to get into it (said the child was accidental but he and the mother were still good friends and raising the kid together in the same house) and admitted he hooked up with other women on the road. Does this seriously sound like someone who wants to introduce Pop Tart to his parents?
