Here are some photos from yesterday’s Cannes Film Festival premiere for Clouds of Sils Maria, starring Kristen Stewart, Chloe Moretz and the absolutely fantastic Juliette Binoche. Binoche was the grand dame of the premiere, keeping the younger women in line and literally holding their hands through the red carpet gauntlet. Kristen arrived in Cannes too late for the photocall, but I’m glad she managed to make the premiere. She was welcome there – Clouds of Sils Maria was very well-received, and Kristen was singled out again and again for critical praise.
The rumor is that all three women wore Chanel, although some outlets claim that Binoche was actually wearing another designer (which has not been identified). Chloe’s Spring 2013 Chanel is much of what we expect from Chanel – a frothy concoction, a glittery mullet dress. Kristen’s Chanel ensemble is actually from the Spring 2014 Chanel line, also known as Karl Lagerfeld’s “Walmart Chic” runway show. Lagerfeld paired his take on tracksuits with Chanel sneakers on the runway. Kristen, to her credit, wore heels for the red carpet and changed into Chanel sneakers for the after-party.
I don’t really like Kristen’s Chanel-Walmart look, although I don’t have a problem with the fact that she wore pants. Pants are fine, generally speaking. I just wish it looked like she made more of an effort. And the whole ensemble isn’t really that flattering, right?

I like it with heels. With the sneakers it’s very “meh”.

She looked better in the Met dress rather than this plain white pant suit. She should have dressed up more for the Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet. She dressed better when she came as guest for Rob’s Cosmopolis film.
Her tattoo is so ugly. Ruins the look.
I still think the tattoo is a fake. She got the “tattoo” for this movie. The last time I saw it, it looked different. So either it was a fake that was fading, or it was partially covered with make-up.

She first had it for this movie so maybe she wanted to show it off at Cannes since it is related to the movie? IDK about tattoos but I do know this is an ugly one. LOL. Love the outfit but the tat ruines it, but then in my opinion, it would ruin any outfit. eww. Other than that she looks beautiful.
@Em I agree-the shape is off on this garment. But let’s all take in La Binoche. Oh, yesss! Amazing, beautiful , interesting. I am in love with her.

I actually have liked all the Chanel looks as well except Blake’s, and that one was because I thought her figure was too busty for one of those illusion dresses. Kristen’s is fun.
Is the hair for a role? Because it doesn’t really suit her imho…
I think the tracksuit is okay… not oustanding but also not offending. I’m still shocked that KStew recieves critical praise. Next thing we know is the Kardashians becoming university professors or something… But good for her, I guess!
Yes the hair is for a role, so she could not change the color of retouch the roots. Kristen has received critical acclaim for many of her pre-Twilight movies. As for the tracksuit, it is Chanel and she has to wear it. Not only does she represent a Chanel line, Chanel provided some of the costumes for her movie. All three actresses were wear Chanel. I think she looks beautiful.
@Isadorauf: Are you planning to keep this wasted nick? 😉 And I’ve just watched Snow White. Theron is gorgeous, CHemboy is his usual nice and beefy self, and I’d have loved this film so much more (because it is beautiful and atmospheric and it dances artfully on the line between fantasy and realism) if someone else played Snow White. I understand why she was cast, but Stewart looks so wrong in this role =( Other characters keep saying how Snow White is full of light and strength, how she’s blessed and will revive the kingdom (which is one of the tricks directors usually employ when an actor/actress is not convincing enough in his/her role) – but all I can see is an awkward introverted teenager who is leagues away both from a pure and innocent princess and from a Jeanne d’Arc-like leader.
Stewart probably can shine in another kind of roles – that play to her strengths and are not too different from her real-life personality.
I love Binoche , thats how one ages with grace and dignity ,frankly speaking its hard to see Juliete in an envious ,desparate aging star ,considering in reality she is the complete opposite ,but somehow she has managed to make it seem like a reality in her own way ,now thats acting
Binoche looks amazing and so fresh. I like Kristen’ look as well; her hair is shiny and she seems like she’s having fun. Nice, for a change.

I’m getting the feeling that Cannes is very c-list and budget.
The pants and shirt make her look shapeless, and she’s not a shapeless woman. I like the idea of them, but somehow they just don’t look right.
Juliette looks lovely. Absolutely lovely.
She is quite shapeless, actually. She is very up and down, with no defined waist and not a big chest. She is a pretty girl but she’s not going to known for having a great figure.
Oh Jesus everyone has a shape. She’s petite and has a cute youthful shape. No she’s not going to be a curvy shape but it’s a figure that can play to strengths like any other shape. I can rock sweater in a way she couldn’t but she could rock a mini skirt or skinny jeans in a way I can’t.
She has a very nice butt area. That’s usually how it is, blessed in the chest area or the butt area. She’s the latter, which is why she wears jeans and pants well.
I really love Kristen’s outfit. I want the same thing!!!! I hope someone makes a knock off soon 🙂
I think this outfit works cuz she usually looks off in fancy gowns and looks more confident with this look. She looks really pretty here and binoche looks amazing her.

I wonder if her matching her skintone was a consideration. It her orange hair, for the current movie she is filming, that had to be matched.
She looks like Riley Koegh. The outfit is so boring. The top should have a squarer cut; the hanging, loose look makes it look off-the-rack.

The sparkly pajamas look like they were stolen from the closet of a sun weathered 80 year old matron in Miami who has had them in the back of her closet since that trip to Vegas in 1968. The mom sneakers are a sad little footnote on a sad little look.

If you read about Coco Chanel you will understand her impetus to design was comfort and freedom (and simplicity). She broke down barriers for women with her clothes. In that light- I can see what Lagerfield was going for with the track suit.

I feel bad for her. Hopefully as she matures she will feel more comfortable in her own skin. At least here she looks more at ease than she usually does. I think the psychological impact of stage parents and insane Twihards have taken their toll on her. There are actually stans who believe she just gave birth to Rob’s baby and millions more who live for Robsten. That alone would be enough to drive her crazy.
Let’s not forget she created much of her own trouble, which she fully admits. I think all this sympathy for her is a bit misplaced.
I am not a fan of hers, but I do think it’s good that her personal affair didn’t affect her career in the long run. Two years out and she is doing well.
Meh, I place more blame on twilight moms projecting all their mommy porn fantasies onto her and sparkles. She was definitely bratty and sullen at times, but she was a teenager while so many twilight fanatics were grown adults. The insanity that surrounded twilight at its height of popularity was downright disturbing. Poor sparkles still looks traumatized.
I hate the outfit, but Kristen is a classic case of “when she smiles”.

I was glad to hear about the great reviews, as I like all three ladies. Plus, films that focus on the ladies where they aren’t just the “girlfriend” are always a plus. I like Kristen’s outfit although it seems like the tailoring is a bit off, but Chloe’s dress is just too much for her imo. She’s a tiny girl and all those feathers overwhelm her. I love Juliette’s outfit…she looks stunning.
I used to not be a big Kstew fan but I think she looks really pretty here. I’m a little offended by the premise of Wal-Mart couture. That’s very tasteless to me. I think she looks prettier now at a healthier weight/with a little more confidence.

All three women are beautiful. Know Kristen is not very popular around here but I thought she was great as Snow White.
I don’t know about Walmart, but definitely total fug! Of all the outfits in the world she has to choose from, she chooses this? But then, it is grungy KStew. I actually have more of a problem with her hair than her outfit. Is it suppose to be a dual-dye, because it’s not, it’s just growth that needs to be blended in. That girl is tacky.
