Did Miley Cyrus call Taylor Swift ‘stuck up, frigid’ & ‘bitchy to other women’?

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift represent polar opposites of the current pop music spectrum. They’re both kind of driving me crazy with their extreme shticks. I go back and forth on Miley, but I’m currently annoyed with her because finding new photos of her for stories is near impossible. Almost every photo is a booty shot. We get the point. Miley is a rebel. Taylor is not a rebel. She projects the image of a prim and proper lady, but I’m tired of Taylor’s daily pap walk in and out of NYC gyms.

Anyway, I would have no trouble believing that Taylor and Miley are not fans of each other. Taylor had a musical cameo in The Hannah Montana Movie, and she showed up Miley in her own movie. I don’t think they’re ever liked each other, and Miley definitely wants to separate herself from anyone with a wholesome image. After last year’s VMA twerk heard round the world, Taylor was one of the many celebrities rumored to be secretly (or not-so-secretly) dissing Miley. The new issue of OK! (via Hollywood Life) says Miley is belatedly fighting back.

Miley Cyrus is reportedly not a fan of Taylor Swift and she has been making that pretty clear, calling the country queen ‘sexless’ and ‘stuck up.’ Find out what else sources are claiming she had to say below!

After Miley Cyrus‘ infamous performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift reportedly called the performance “grotesque” (though Taylor’s rep later denied that claim). Well, Miley is now firing back, according to a new report from OK! magazine! Miley is calling Taylor “sexless” and “stuck up” and “frigid” — read on for the rest of the shocking report!

Miley was not happy about Taylor’s reported MTV VMAs diss, and “That’s one thing Miley can’t stand — women being bitchy to other women,” OK!‘s source revealed. Er, a bit hypocritical at this moment, but moving on.

“She thinks Taylor is stuck up and can’t deal with how prissy she is. Miley can’t stand girly girls,” their source continued. “She’s telling everyone that Taylor is a ‘sexless, frigid ice princess’ who ‘bored’ Harry Styles out of bed.” Whoaaa, shots fired!

And Miley is not afraid about this getting back to Taylor — indeed, the mag’s source claims that Miley is “hoping it will circulate back to Taylor.”

[From Hollywood Life]

If Miley is saying this crap about Taylor, then Miley is also guilty of being “bitchy to other women.” Remember the massive flame war with Sinead O’Connor from last year? That was extremely rude behavior from Miley, but I’m sure she’s forgotten that by now. My point is — Miley probably thinks she’s being “authentic” when she’s being rude and judgy.

I know OK! isn’t the greatest source out there, but I do believe that Miley looks down upon Taylor for not gyrating and twerking onstage. Taylor probably feels the same way about Miley’s behavior. The nice thing is that there’s plenty of room in the music biz for both ladies. And I think Taylor will definitely outlast Miley.

This is from Hollywoodlife so definitely not true at all. Miley and Taylor were close during the Hannah Montana days, they’re not friends anymore but I don’t think they’re total enemies like this article is suggesting.

    • Lau says:

My thoughts exactly. The media is trying to build up a non-existent catfight between two women (?). Again. I mean, obviously they chose different paths and they surely do have opinions about each other (not openly though, I guess)… but that’s about it. They’re young.

    • Priya says:

No, they don’t have problems with each other. Taylor was dancing and loving Wrecking Ball.

I think it’s weird that tabs can’t handle the idea of 2 major pop stars actually being friendly and not hating each other. And Taylor is really good at making friends with other women, even with Lorde, who originally said something rude and immature. Now they’re friends.

Taylor strikes me as the kind of woman who is willing to lay the cards out on the table instead of ignoring/believing that someone said something rude to her or about her. It’s pretty brave.

Also, Sinead kinda deserved rudeness from Miley. Honestly, Sinead was being anti- feminist and basically shaming/blaming Miley for twerking, insinuating that Miley doesn’t know what she’s doing, and being completely judgy herself. I’ll never forget the whole “your body is for you and your boyfriend.” Bish pls. If Miley wants to twerk or pull her vadge out, and she doesn’t immediately get struck by lightening or cause harm and destruction upon us all, I don’t know how Sinead gets off on being so condescending.

  2. mkyarwood says:

The thing is, Miley’s whole show doesn’t seem to be sexy or arousing. It’s like a parody of sex which could technically be called grotesque. I think Caitlin Stasey better represents a sexually liberated woman: http://www.buzzfeed.com/louispeitzman/why-the-raunchy-shameless-sex-on-reign-matters

  3. Wanda says:

Sinead was just as rude as Miley after the first letter, which had its problems as well, and posted, what 4 lengthy rambling letters? She also slammed Simon Cowell out of nowhere, extremely rude, and then he politely responded that he would love to have her as a guest judge, and again, she went off on him saying something about how she didn’t have enough botox and plastic surgery to be a good judge.

It’s a pet peeve of mine when someone starts trouble and then someone gets drawn into it and we end up making it BOTH of their faults….people try to bring up some moral high road, like “You should have just ignored it/walked over” but if someone was saying the most vulgar, cruelest remarks about you or a loved one to the public/many people, don’t lie and tell me you’d just ignore it and remain silent.

    • Otaku Fairy says:

Thank you! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought “Why is the blogger only calling out Miley as rude when Sinead is the one who participated in whorephobia and victim-blaming in her letters?” Both women were problematic.

    • original kay says:

I thought Sinead started the whole thing with her letter, which while polite, it was not actually her business. Especially to write an open letter like she did.
I didn’t like Miley’s responses. I do like Miley though.

I can’t recall an instance where Miley herself went after someone, unprovoked, and spouted off her opinions in a rude manner. has she? link please, if she has.

seems to me, baring anyone posting a link otherwise, that Miley responds and defends, but doesn’t go out of her way to diss people, act rudely about them etc. ??

  4. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I tend to think that women who constantly refer to how sexy and sexually free and sexual they are are the ones not getting very good sex, but maybe that’s just been my experience. In any event, I think it’s pathetic to call someone “frigid” because they choose to keep their clothes on while performing their music. Taylor could certainly capitalize on her body in a vulgar way like Miley, but I admire her for doing it her own way, and I think Miley’s a jerk for trying to shame her about it.

    • Dani2 says:

I honestly doubt any of this is true, I don’t think Miley or Taylor care enough about what each other are doing. It’s just the media trying to pit women against each other.

    • Emily says:

Agreed. And one thing I like about Taylor is that she doesn’t comment either way on her sex life. She doesn’t go out of her way to brag about how “sexually free” she is, but she hasn’t made any public purity pledges either. For all we know, Tay Tay could have a secret sex dungeon.

      • Otaku Fairy says:

She has slut-shamed other women though, and implied that being a role model means covering up and not being very sexual.

    • Otaku Fairy says:

“I tend to think that women who constantly refer to how sexy and sexually free and sexual they are are the ones not getting very good sex”

Sometimes this argument is used to silence women from publicly talking about their sexuality, sexual liberation, and similar issues. I’m not saying YOU’RE doing that, I’m just saying that it does happen. I think women talk about being sexually free and stuff because society does try to stop different types of people from being sexually free and sexually open.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Never thought of it that way. I see your point, and will be more careful with my generalizations.

      • Bridget says:

There’s a difference between being free to discuss sex and sexuality vs. discussing sex and sexuality in a manner that is intended to get the listener to think that the speaker *must* be having excellent sex because its all they talk about. It isnt the fact that Miley is talking about sex so much as the manner in which she does.

  5. Farah says:

Taylor last two albums have sold three times the amount of Miley’s. I’m sure Tay Tay is not crying herself to sleep over Miley’s diss.

    • Tapioca says:

Indeed. Taylor’s last two albums each sold more IN ONE WEEK than Miley’s has since release, plus she gets the lion’s share of the publishing as she wrote most of them solo, whilst her tour sold out in a heartbeat.

I’m no huge fan of either, but apparently “frigid” and “sexless” is very profitable these days!

  6. klaas says:

I’d pick Taylor over Miley any time and I don’t even like Taylor. Miley is a joke. Bigger joke than Kardashians. She isn’t good musician nor dancer, she’s rebel without reason and she doesn’t even know what feminist stands for. UGhhh

    • SpookySpooks says:

She can sing. And I don’t mind her. I don’t listen to her music, but she has her “persona” and it seems to be working for her.

    • Bob Loblaw says:

Miley is a sad mess no matter how much she gussies it up with twerking and tongue.

      • SpookySpooks says:

But why is she a sad mess? Apart from her crazy s**t she does on stage, she seems to have it together. Unlike most post Disney stars, she hasn’t beento rehab, hasn’t lashed out on the paparazzi, etc.

    • We Are All Made of Stars says:

So she isn’t a good musician or dancer, she perceives herself as lashing out against forces that are out to do her wrong, and she doesn’t know what feminism means. Is it just me, or is that also a perfect description of Taylor Swift?

  7. Lark says:

It’s OK! Magazine. I can’t stand Miley, but I have a hard time buying that she’s shading Taylor of all people…if anything I think she’d be throwing shade at her competitors like Iggy Azalea. Just another manufactured fight between women by sexist tabloids to sell copies.

  8. Samantha25 says:

I think this is made up because the quote sounds exactly like the quotes given to Taylor’s exes when they break up. That being said I do think Taylor is kind of cold and bitchy. I don’t know why she’s never called out on the comments she makes (trashing exes, Tina Fey, etc).

    • eliza says:

Didn’t Tina Fey start the mini feud first? I know Tina is everyone’s darling but let’s be fair here. If you want to do comedy at others expense expect to be hit back at some point. Not everyone finds Fey’s humor wonderful.

      • Roger says:

Even if Tina Fey humor isn’t for “everyone”, Taylor’s nasty attitude of princess didn’t make her any favors especially in a career where she’s judged by her actions in the public eye -Beside she wasn’t the only one referenced in a joke that night-. And let’s be honest here, it was a tame and “small” joke -Imagine what would happen with Ricky Gervais-.

    • Bob Loblaw says:

TS is allowed to be hurt by a joke at her expense but she would have been wiser to just laugh it off rather than play the victim card.

    • We Are All Made of Stars says:

Amen! Apparently you can trash others all the doo-da day so long as you’re a blonde white princess with mommy and daddy’s cash to blow and a mid 20th century wardrobe to do it in. Even if this BS fabrication were true, this chick has no room to judge. Oh, the hypocrisy.

    • Priya says:

I think Taylor was just mortified and embarrassed. I think she probably felt like someone she admired was calling her a clueless, boycrazy whore. And coming from Tina and Amy, it probably felt awful. I read that Amy was more sympathetic to Taylor’s gripe about it, and said she felt bad that Taylor felt bad about it and could see how that it would make a young woman just out of her teens to be described like that. Tina was just dismissive and told her to get over it.

I know at 22 I would have cried if someone said that about me.

  9. birdie says:

I actually think Miley will outlast Taylor. She went from Disney to teenager music to this today. (Yeah, very original, haven’t seen that on Britney, Christina and every other Disney star ever, sigh) I can actually see her sitting on a couch in a few years being interviewed about her “wild days” and how she finally found herself and how she is so happy with her husband now. She will always reinvent herself. I am not a MIley fan btw. Taylor is always the same. Singing about her “horrible” exes. Boooring.

    • Dani2 says:

I disagree, Taylor has had unparalleled success without having to resort to attention-grabbing gimmicks. Miley’s recent success has all been about shock value and before that, it was because of Disney. I can see Taylor still being around in ten years, Miley will most likely want to reinvent herself but how many times can you do that successfully over the course of your career before people get bored? She’s no Madonna either so she likely won’t still be selling out arenas in her fifties.

      • We Are All Made of Stars says:

You don’t think casting yourself in the role of the always put-upon and developmentally arrested Victim Princess who always needs to sell the world on how she’s been destroyed by boys is a schtick? Not even just a little bit???

      • Dani2 says:

@WAAMOS what I said was that Taylor hasn’t had to resort to attention -grabbing gimmicks which she hasn’t. Miley’s recent public image and her success has been all about shock-value, which it has a and it worked but my point is that where does Miley go from there? People aren’t shocked anymore. I definitely think Taylor tries to project a certain image in the media, what star doesn’t? I’m not someone who thinks that stars are ~just like us~. And Taylor isn’t the first nor is she the last person to capitalise on heartbreak, Adele did that with a whole album, and even Miley released “Wrecking Ball” around the time when her relationship with the lesser Hemsworth was crumbling. She hasn’t dated anyone in the public eye in more than a year and a half and she has written songs in which she blames herself for the breakdown of a relationship. She might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I’ve been a fan of hers for a long time and although I think she has a very problematic view on feminism (which is one of the things that I really dislike about her) and that she really needs to learn how to take a joke, I also think she’s a great performer (not necessarily a great vocalist but she really knows how to put on an exciting show) and she’s fantastic with her fans and that’s why they’re so loyal.

      • Tiffany :) says:

I agree with Dani, I think Taylor will have a much longer career. Her song writting will allow her to have a career even when she no longer looks good in hot pants. Miley doesn’t have anything like that to fall back on.

    • Ellen says:

I don’t think we can call it yet, either. Miley has a great voice but she could flame out. Taylor has an amazing sales/tour record but she’s starting to repeat herself. Only time will tell — and it would be nice if we could imagine them as competitors with other male singers instead of each other, because they’re not really on the same end of the dial.

For example. I would bet money Miley outlasts Robin Thicke.

    • Bob Loblaw says:

Miley is on a downward path, shock value wears off quickly, if she doesn’t back it up with successful music her career will stall.

    • Priya says:

All guy singers ever do is sing about their exes. Rappers sing about money and luxury goods and strippers, and hipsters sing random stuff mostly about love. I’m just saying. Phil Collins sings about love and exes. I can’t think of who doesn’t.

Frankly, as someone getting out of a long relationship and dating again, I found Red really relatable. And even a bit informative. Kinda helps me identify/differentiate between the guys who are too immature/selfish to think of the other person in the relationship and not blame myself for their shortcomings. And I think she sends a pretty good message to young women: you’ll get your heart broken, but you’ll be fine. It might feel like love when you’re getting swept away, but enjoy that part and be ready for some crappy guys to have to weed through.

  10. BendyWindy says:

I get sick of women who don’t want to run around in skimpy clothing and crotch grab everything that moves being called “sexless” or “frigid.” Maybe Taylor is just more private. I mean, she’s had a million boyfriends, so I’d hardly think she’s not getting any.

Do I think T. Swift’s image is contrived? Of course, but so is Miley’s. MIley needs to have a seat.

  11. aligoat says:

The only thing I can focus on is the way Taylor carries her handbags with that limp claw.

    • Dani2 says:

Ugh yes, I love her but the way she carries her bags like a posable doll really makes me want to sit her down and give her a piece of mind lol, I don’t get it, how is that comfortable?

      • Sea Dragon says:

I’d watch my sixth grade teacher do it every day and wonder the same thing. When I began using a purse in eigth grade I caught myself doing it a lot and it seemed to come naturally. I still catch myself holding a grocery bag that way at times. Regardless of how it looks, it feels very feminine.

  12. eliza says:

At least Swift conducts hetself like a lady. Contrived or not, I would much rather see stories about Swift’s sexless, vanilla life than one more shot of Miley’s crotch area or tongue.

Tired of people using “I’m real, I’m authentic , I’m real” excuse for being jerks to other people.

Shut up and do your job.

    • Otaku Fairy says:

“At least Swift conducts hetself like a lady.”

To me that in and of itself is not necessarily deserving of praise. It’s like saying of a man, “At least he conducts himself in a masculine way.” Society bullies- and even threatens violence against- males who don’t present themselves in a masculine hetero way, just like it bullies and threatens violence against women who present as sexually libertine, ‘unladylike’, ‘slutty’, ‘whores’, or ‘not the kind of girl you bring home to mama.’ So I don’t see why the traditional gender roles of ‘masculine man’ or ‘ladylike good girl’ should be seen as praiseworthy.

  13. dinaleeJin says:

This story is do made up.

    • Courtney! says:

I know! Maybe I might have believed it if it came out soon after the VMAs. Is nothing going on in Hollywood now?

  14. Skins says:

Taylor has one thing that Miley will never have. Class

  15. Farah says:

I love how the media calls Taylor, a boy crazy slut and frigid, sexless, freak in the same breath. Choose one narrative and stick with it.

  16. kcarp says:

This whole non-bit*** stuff to other woman is such a farce. I would say 95% of the time if women are talking sh** they are talking it about other women. You aren’t going to tell me that these Hollywood types are above all that.

All of these girls gossip and talk trash about each other none of them are above it.

  17. Allie says:

I dislike both. And I agree with both. Miley is grotesque and Taylor does seem asexual and frigid. Her relationships only last a couple months-just in time for the guys to realize she’s not as perfect as her image. Miley will just do anything for attention. Case closed, no mystery

  18. aquarius64 says:

Both Miley and Taylor have hooks to get fans and both acts have run into backlash. Tabloids are moving the lady (Taylor) vs. the tramp (Miley) story to get hits. BOTH need to grow up musically and personally if they are going to have lasting careers. Right now I can take Taylor a little more because she stopped serial dating for press, but she still pap strolls. I like her outfits too. Miley comes off as too try-hard for me.

    • TheOneandOnlyOnly says:

Agree, contrived shock wears off quickly, and Taylor Swift cannot be 30 and still singing maudlin songs about jr. high school heartache. Swifty and her team have taken advantage of the bad taste and gullibility of tweeners and soccer moms to go for an image. People that I know that know some people in the biz and have interacted with her will say flat-out she really has average to below average talent, but in today’s pop world its image and the selling of celebrity (Jim Fusilli who writes for the Wall Street Journal coined this phrase to explain pop music), and an elaborate splash and dash stage show that matters.

  19. feebee says:

I’m going with it not being true maybe and should be disregarded. However on the general side of things, it’s one thing to call out a fellow performer or whatever for being bitchy to other women and even stuck up if that’s the way she comes across but you gotta draw the line at calling someone frigid and going down that track. I have that damn hashtag thing on my mind today and it’s making me a little crazy.

    • Otaku Fairy says:

I agree. If Miley really did make those comments about Taylor’s sexuality, that was tasteless and bitchy of her. Yes, Taylor has made nasty, sexist comments about women in the past, but returning that doesn’t make Miley any better. As women we really need to stop persecuting eachother based on sexuality.

  20. kimber says:

Not buying this one only bc I dont believe miley gives two craps about taylor swift.

    • ERIKA says:

I bet Taylor doesn’t give a crap about Miley. Miley is just a temporary trend like Gaga, Taylor is a composer and that will make her career last longer than MIley’s. Plus Miley’s shock value marketing is getting old, no more body parts to show.

  21. JenniferJustice says:

I’d rather be stuck up, frigid and bitchy than talentless, homely and in-your-face obnoxious trashy.

  22. melissa says:

There is no way she called her sexless. Unless the quote is, “She’s so sex.. sexless! Ha! Ha! Is that even a word, y’all? I don’t care. I just made it up!”

  23. Tippy says:

When was the bar set so low in the music industry that Miley & Taylor are considered super star entertainers?

I can’t imagine either of these two would compete in any meaningful way against the likes of Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Donna Summer, Deborah Harry and many others while they were in their prime.

  24. ERIKA says:

There are many reasons why I prefer Taylor over Miley. The first one is that Miley is a very ungrateful young woman, she is talented but she does have a pretty standard vocal range, nothing that could apart her from thousand of starlets that wanted to make it big. Without Disney she would be working as a cashier at Walmart during the day and singing in a bar during the weekends. Second, she is very trashy, her “rebellion” comes across as a way to express her vulgarity through her wardrobe’s choices and stage’s persona. Miley’s parents look like they have been milking the cow for a while, with no intentions to be her guides in life but more her friends to accomodate to her lifestyle $$ while Taylor comes from a wealthy family who hasn’t sold their souls to the evil. Taylor has a nice vocal range but she expresses better her artistic side through the composition of her songs, she is a talented pianist and guitarrist and her songs doesn’t have any profanity for which I am grateful as I have 2 young daughters and we buy a lot of music on Itunes. Forgive me if I have any mishaps in my grammar but my first language is spanish, and yes, I am old fashioned and proud of it.

    • jwoolman says:

Miley’s dad was and is rich. And frugal, so he’s staying rich. She has money to burn since she turned 18 because her parents didn’t dip into what she earned as a minor. She says that her dad always paid her personal expenses out of his own pocket. So her parents have never depended on her for money.

  25. Naddie says:

Both are obnoxious and disposable, but I don’t get why people hate Taylor so much. I mean, there’s nothing to love about, but also nothing to hate so much about.

  26. Stephanie says:

Personally, I am not a fan of either one of these women. If Miley wants to act how she does then I say have at it. Although I can understand why people criticize. I don’t believe in role models, because often times your supposed to be perfect, and that’s stupid and unrealistic. Both of these women have images that work for them. That being said I don’t relate to them or look up to either one of them, partly because of my own life experiences and mindset, and partially because the images they have are just opposite sides of the same coin. Not complex, but sorta one dimensional. As for this story, Hollywoodlife is known to be full of crap.

  27. jwoolman says:

I actually saw the Hannah Montana Movie on tv at least a couple of times and don’t remember Taylor Swift’s role. But I might just not have known who she was at the time. Will look for her if I see it again. Miley was quite good in it, though, at least in the main part of it “back home”. (I tend to see these movies in bits and pieces…) So I’m not sure what is meant by Taylor showing up Miley in her own movie. Kind of doubt it, though. Miley might be going through an obnoxious phase at the moment, but in her Hannah days she always put on a good show. Very energetic on stage.
