Emily Blunt wears David Koma in Paris & Prada in NYC: which is best?

Emily Blunt

Don’t worry, I’m not pulling out the Tom Cruise history book again today. I think we’re all supposed to pretend that Tom isn’t really the star of Edge of Tomorrow. He’s been on “mute” for most of the press tour except for some joint talk show appearances where Emily Blunt is taking the lead. They did The Graham Norton Show, but the video was just removed from YouTube. No big loss.

Let’s just talk about Emily’s fashion at these premieres. She scored really well at the London photocall and premiere — even though the premiere happened at 6:30 am. Then she and Tom popped over to Paris and finished with an 11:59 pm premiere in NYC. Emily doesn’t look exhausted in these photos, but she probably napped on the plane, right? I’d nap like crazy if I was penned up with Tom Cruise.

Emily wore a leather dress from David Koma in Paris. I’m not crazy about this half-sheer/half-leather look. Emily pulls the dress off as much as possible, but the sheer panels are so cheap looking. A solid leather dress would have had more impact and been very stylish. I could even compromise by leaving the sheer portion at the top of the dress. Just cut off the bottom part and make it a short leather miniskirt.

In NYC, Emily wore Prada. That’s kinda cool because she starred in The Devil Wears Prada, and Tom has some devil inside him. I like this dress even though the tailoring around the bust is awkward. Peaked bustlines are the worst. Emily’s working it like a pro, and the pink lipstick gives a funky touch to an otherwise formal look.

Somewhere in the middle of yesterday’s premiere madness, Tom found time for a quickie photocall in Rome. Light colored sweaters are not Tom’s friend.

I think that Prada dress is stunning.

I like the Prada dress better, she looks so good.

Oh, Prada, my Prada!! Hell, yeah! I like the leather, but I would have LOVED the leather if the skirt hadn’t been sheer at an unflattering knee-length angle.

I don’t like the pink lipstick combined with the red dress. Awful.

That said I just love her! She’s the only reason I’d see the Tom Cruise film…

I want to see the movie because the trailer and the idea is very very good

I don’t like that combination either. I think it would’ve worked the other way around: pink dress with red lipstick and accessories (she was wearing pink shoes and carrying a pink clutch).

WOW..those are some serious lifts Tom is wearing.

Blunt is a very statuesque women but I SO wish she would go back to a rich chocolate brunette.
I HATE light hair on her.

  6. PunkyMomma says:

Love that pink lipstick with the red Prada! But, TBH, I find the construction in Tom’s shoes to be more interesting than either dress. Between the heel height and lift inside, I’m guessing his shoes give him an extra two inches in height?

  7. Gine says:

Wow, he’s looking puffy. Is he trying to gain weight for a role, like Bradley Cooper? Because it doesn’t look like fat; it looks like chemically-enhanced muscle and water weight that’s too much for his small frame to handle.

  8. gillociraptor says:

Her boobs look like cat ears in the Prada. I really want to draw a cat face on the dress.

  9. Hannah says:

The Graham Norton Show only airs tomorrow night. You might be talking about a previous appearance of Tom’s on that programme.

  10. Lollipop says:

Her face looks very stiff. Did she do something to it?

  11. JudyK says:

OMG, I HATE them both, but the first one is abominable.

The red one might be pretty without the alien points toward the sky.

  12. Hissyfit says:

She looks a lot like Sarah Paulson on the 3rd photo. I don’t like the pink lipstick, red dress combo. But still a cute dress. Tom looks kinda off in the last photo. I don’t know if it’s the man boobs or the stomach area or his face.

  13. Ag says:

tom is working those lifts! no, he’s not. he’s put some poundage on. stress-eating, tom?

fingers crossed that this movie is a spectacular failure, i wish nothing less on xenu’s golden boy.

I am in complete and total agreement with this. I was all prepared to like it until I scrolled down and saw the sheer bottom half. I like the second outfit too but dislike the pink lipstick.

It’s funny people comment on TC’s changing body – which is probably just ageing. Because he seems to have it written in every contract that he has to have a topless scene. The Jack Reacher topless scene was was SOOO gratuitous. Even the Knight and Day topless scene was a little obvious, and he was already getting lumpy then. I think Tom needs to review his strategy in that department. See how Al Pacino and Robert De Niro and dozens of other older actors have gently morphed into highly credible yet non-sexual/subtly charismatic roles.
