These are photos of Rihanna at the Paris launch of her Sephora perfume, Rogue. She’s certainly wearing more clothing than she did at the CFDAs, where she showed everything off. Rihanna is wearing a grey Balmain design that combines a leather crossover top with casual cargo pants. I’m so glad that she ditched the pink wig. This is still not her natural hair (she goes short way too often for this style to be real), but these extensions look so soft and lovely.
Some of you commented that even with her nips and crack hanging out at the CFDAs, Rihanna’s face is still the most memorable thing about her. It’s true. She might have a tight body, but Rihanna’s face is unforgetttable. Plus, she’s got confidence and can pull off almost anything (except for this dress).
This perfume launch is not without controversy either. Rihanna’s Rogue ad has been banned in the UK for being too “provocative” and “sexually suggestive.” It’s slightly NSFW, I guess. You can see the ad here. The ad is actually pretty tame by Rihanna standards.

She is beautiful and I wish she would keep that hair. But she seems to be such a self-absorbed and awful person her beauty kinda fades for me.
I must be the only person in the world that doesn’t particularly find Rihanna attractive. I think she’s stunning in that she can wear almost anything and pull it off but facially she’s just not doing it for me. She’s photogenic and she looks great in magazines but I’ve seen her in person and…just not doing it for me. Sam with Victoria Beckham. I actually really like Victoria but even when she was a Spice girl I thought she was the least attractive one.
I think she has gorgeous eyes and dresses herself well but her big forehead plain other features prevents her from reaching full on beautiful status.

You know I think the difference of opinion here may a result of where you get your Rihanna news. I think this site does go out of its way to post only flattering pics whereas if you end up else where, you.probably arent too impressed. The tits dress is a good example. When I saw those pics elsewhere I couldnt believe how gross she is. She had a thong deep in her crack and this is how she spent her evening. This is how she walked up to the podium to get her award. With a flesh coloured thong firmly wedged in her crack and a completely see through dress. Then theres her face which does stand out in select pics but can look like tweety bird with colored contact lenses. You’re not the only one….she’s not all that, her voice isn’t all that and her clothing isn’t all that. She is a product which was very carefully prepared and presented to market. She’s a mess and they’ve taken advantage of her messiness to have her appear hip and edgy. But it is still mess.

Wendy Williams made a good point the other day: Rihanna is a risk taker when it comes to fashion but no icon. There’s something to that. I can’t remember may of her outfits. The only one that comes to mind is the red dress she wore to the Grammys one year. In fact, if you Google Image “Rihanna”, the first page of results mainly features her in various states of undress.
But I agree about her face. And let’s not forget her hair! Many memorable styles there.
No she most definitely is not a fashion icon, she’s a fashion “it girl” and those are two very different things.
Since those in the fashion industry chose Rihanna to be this year’s fashion icon, I’ll take their opinion over Wendy Williams’ any day.

That hellogiggles article COMPLETELY misinterprets what the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) actually said. They’ve got it utterly backwards.
The initial complaint that sparked a review was that the ad was overly sexual AND demeaning to women. The ASA said that facial expression was “of defiance rather than vulnerability”, and the overall impression of the singer was one of confidence, and concluded that the ad was “unlikely to be demeaning to women or to cause serious or widespread offence”.

So they did use the phrase “defiance rather than vulnerability” but that’s not why it was banned, it’s why they threw out the “demeaning” part of the complaint (and didn’t ban the ad altogether). Instead they found it sexually provocative, because of the pose and the fact she appeared to be naked except for the heels, so said it should be restricted to places it wouldn’t be seen by children.
I thought that was really weird, because in the version Bedhead linked, she’s clearly wearing knickers. The one good thing about the article Nur linked is that is shows a cropped version of the ad, which does indeed obscure the fact she’s wearing underwear. If that’s the UK version, it all starts to make sense.
Love that leather crossover top! Meh on the cargo pants. But she totally rocks whatever she wears – totally owns it.

I think it works. I mean it’s not the ultimate flattering color, but it doesn’t detract from the outfit or her coloring, or clash in any way. I can’t see myself loving this outfit on anyone else.
