Here are some photos from last night’s LA premiere of How To Train Your Dragon 2. First of all, it’s kind of nice to see Gerard Butler, who has been largely MIA from public life for several months now. I see photos of him at airports every now and then, but he’s barely been in the news. And he’s barely done any promotion for Dragon 2. Apparently, he’s been in Australia filming a movie. Yeah. Sure.
I’m also adding photos of other people at the premiere, like Djimon Hounsou (who looked lovely), Dylan McDermott (he was just there, he’s not in the movie), America Ferrera (she looks great!) and of course… Kit Harington. Seeing Kit with a dragon makes me think of how Jon Snow would be very interesting with the Khaleesi. Speaking of, would you like to talk briefly about last night’s Game of Thrones? Let’s do this.
SPOILERS for last night’s GoT episode, “The Watchers on the Wall.”
Here’s my question: is there no way to get word to King’s Landing to send reinforcements, that the Wildling army is marching on the Wall? Because it feels like the people in King’s Landing already know that the Wildlings are trying to breach the Wall and they’re just like, “Eh, whatever.” Of course it’s too late to get reinforcements at this point, but Jon Snow has known that the Wildlings were going to attack the Wall for what? Months!! Anyway, I just have some issues with the whole “federal aid to the Wall” thing. The North never forgets!!
As for the battle royale… a little goes a long way. I liked seeing the individual fighting styles and I liked seeing Jon Snow come into his own as a leader of men and as a warrior. It made me think of Ned Stark!! I’m serious, I got a tear in my eye thinking about how Ned and Jon were probably a lot alike. Jon might be smarter though.
As for Ygritte… well, that was a perfect way to go, wasn’t it? “You know nothing…” GAH!!! And my heart broke when Jon first saw her and his first reaction was just to… smile. He was happy to see her. I can’t believe I’m getting so emotional about Jon and Ygritte, but there are go. Rose Leslie has a nice interview in People Mag this morning too – go here to read.

And lol at the GOT spoilers in the middle of this post, I had to close my eyes. I’m a binge watcher and now in love; almost done with Season 2 and then on with 3. I just finished Spartacus last week and was really impressed with the show; and saddened by the lead actors death early on, but what an Amazing show and great work by Andy Whitfield !

As for GoT, the issue is basically that the “Southerners” don’t really believe that there’s any threat so they don’t care enough to send reinforcements. In the books it’s a bit different because

Stannis comes North to help them…I don’t know if they’ll incorporate that into the show this season but yeah, he does offer aid.
I kind of thought that was where they were going when Davos received the message from the Wall, and Melissandre did her whole “you are the only one who can save the world from the whitewalkers” (OMG STFU Melissandra!), but then that storyline just fizzled.
Totally agree. Having read all the books, my least favorite part is anything to do with Melissandre and Stannis. So, so, so, so boring.
Don’t forget that not only do the folks in Kings Landing not think the willing aren’t a real threat, they also dont want to offer aid to the North and to a Stark. They figure trouble beyond the Wall only helps them.

I had to avert my eyes for most of this post because of spoilers, aaaah! I’m a Monday night GOT watcher.
Anyway, when 300 came out and Butler was King Leonidas he was everythinggggggg. Amazing, I was in love. Then he went on to act like a skank and star in some very stupid romantic comedy. Sad. I wish he could have just been Leonidas and then disappeared forever so the image would never have been ruined.
The whole Jon Snow storyline is so boring to me. Kinda disappointed a whole episode was dedicated to him, although it was cool that those homies held the gate with their Night Watch oaths or whatever. (<—– I'm having trouble even faking interest)
Kit just reminds me of a bargain bin Orlando Bloom. (Sorry!)
So I have to choose between Porta Potty McButler and Kit Harrington and the paper bag I’d have to put over his face? I know I’m being extra snarky this morning but I think I’ll take the dragon.

I DID TOO!!! And my husband was like, “what’s wrong with you? Is there something in your eye? You’re not…crying are you? Didn’t you read the book?” And I’m like, “It’s much more dramatic in the show! *sniffle*”
And I loved how the Thenn had his own music, until the hammer took care of him. It was like Peter and the Wolf, but with cannibals and gore.
AND WHEN SAM KISSED GILLY! Loved it. And when she was ready to protect herself and the baby with the frozen mutton leg or whatever it was.
Great episode. The only way I could love it more is if Jon Snow were actually 6’5″.
P.S. They send ravens to all the various kings with notes asking for help. I remember Stannis receives one and Davos reads it when learning to read with the daughter. I think King’s Landing blew it off.
Kit only looks good all dirty on Game of Thrones. In real life he looks pasty and bland.
Gerard couldn’t wear a clean shirt? are those two spots holes or stain or what?
Since Gerard has issues with drinking or whatever it was I wouldn’t chose him (plus he does nothing for me). I like Kit in the full black.

Re: GoT I am not a huge fan of The Wall’s scenes cause is all dudes cold and blah (i enjoy the palace intrigue and Machinations and dragons a lot more). but this fight was very faithful to the books, also, Ygritte had to die That or she woulda killed him, no to ways about it….
Also Im super stressed out about what happens to Sansa cause she is basically caught up til the end of the books as of now…
also Am I the only one that gets all teary eye when the Night’s Watch say their words?? cause my God they get me every time…

I must have really crappy taste because I would hit Kit Harington hard and often! I loved that last nights episode was so Jon centric, he’s my fav character. As a book reader, they have been sending raven to all 5 kings (most of which are dead now) for quite a while. Most of them did not give a shit,
I’d reluctantly but enthusiastically fondle Gerrard and all his slimey sleazy parts.
Kit is just beautiful and his hair is particularly attractive but he’s rather tiny. He’s still bigger than me but… well… still rather tiny.
He looks about 5’7″ or so do you think? That’s my size, but he’s quite a bit leaner than me. So, no I dont’ think I could go with Kit at all.

Kit is one of the few short guys I find really attractive (a few years ago it was Matt Bellamy).
I am a nurse who has spent years asking people their height and weight. My personal experience – All men add two inches to their height, and all women subtract twenty pounds.
I am 5’9″, and I can’t tell you how many men I’ve looked down at as they tell me they’re 6″. I’m a little embarrassed for them.
Harington wins just because he’s less likely to have an STD than Butler – but then, who isn’t? Kit’s a nice looking guy, I just wish he was taller.
I’m one of the few, I guess, who found Ygritte an annoying character. Not sorry she’s gone. Good actress, though.
And the Jon Snow character should be destined for far, far greater things (assuming the show follows the exposition of the novels) but I hope it’s not a hook up with Daenerys – too boring and predictable. Now, if they become enemies, that would be fun!

Neither of them is attractive to me, but Gerard Butler actively repels me while Kit Harington at least seems like he’d be cool to hang out with.

Gerard is the Queen Slut but I still would. I would probably have to disinfect myself by diving into 100% medical alcohol bathtube but better that than bland emo Ken doll Kit is.
I find his character in GoT boring, he looks boring and he is Henry Cavill bland in interviews.

They did send word to King’s Landing after Jon Snow returned last season and Tywin totally blew it off. But Stannis Baratheon got a raven, too, and he was like, “Slow your roll, we need to go North. That’s where the war is.” I haven’t read the books but that seemed like a really portentous thing, the way Tywin and Stannis reacted to the news of the white walkers.
Kit Harrington by default. I’m STD-free and plan to stay that way, so no Butlering for me.

It’s so rare I lust over guys my age, but Kit all the way. He’s adorable and sexy. Not a great actor by any means but very likable.

I am super excited for this movie. Also, when I go and see films that are geared towards kids, they are a hell of lot more behaved than adults. Give me a matinee of a kids film any day of the week. And weekends as well.
