The last time I checked, Jake Gyllenhaal had gotten back together with his model girlfriend Alyssa Miller after a short breakup earlier this year. The last time I checked, Rachel McAdams had recovered from her split with Michael Sheen by getting with a man named Patrick Sambrook. But now Rachel and Jake are about to work with each other on Southpaw. And so they’ve been spending some time together, and they were even photographed together a few days ago. So now everyone wants to know if they’re banging.
Before Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams hit MSG to watch boxer Miguel Cotto pummel Sergio Martinez, they stayed very close at an HBO Sports party, fueling rumors that they’re dating.
Romance buzz began when the pair stepped out last week for dinner in Pittsburgh, where they’re shooting a boxing movie, “Southpaw,” with Lupita Nyong’o and Forest Whitaker.
On Saturday in New York, spies said Gyllenhaal and McAdams appeared together at Lugo Caffe across from MSG before the bout.
“They arrived together and sat next to each other,” said a spy, adding the actors were “in deep conversation.” They stayed for an hour at the packed party and “looked happy and very friendly.”
Gyllenhaal wore a casual black baseball cap and jeans while McAdams went with a little back dress, and they headed over to the fight together. Other sources have said they are friendly co-stars doing research for their film in which Gyllenhaal plays a pugilist. Also at the fight were Mike Tyson, Tony Danza, 50 Cent, Dave Chappelle and Michael J. Fox.
Apparently they’ve also been out to dinner a few times, dinners which are described as “intimate.” So, what do you think? Just two friendly costars developing a friendship? Or something more? I think Rachel tends to have bad luck with men, but I might be projecting a little bit. I always think of her as a nice girl who just wants to settle down, get married and have kids. Maybe she’s not that person and she’s fine with her love life, thankyouverymuch. Or maybe she does want marriage & babies and she’s just dated a series of guys who don’t want that. In any case, I don’t think Jake is The Guy. He’s a fling, at most. And probably not even then.
Also, yes you read that correctly – Lupita Nyong’o has apparently been cast in Southpaw as well. She’s on the IMDB credits and everything. Good for her.

I’m calling PR stunt as well. At the moment, there are a few “relationships” that I am not believing.
I don’t even think it’s a PR stunt, at least not until now. I think they like each other and met for dinner because they are both working on the same set now. Also their visit at the box fight was with the crew of the film because the film is apparently about boxing. Unfortunately, because they would make a cute couple.

Yes, please telle that is just an awkward photo and not a nose job. Rachel is so beautiful I would hate for her to ruin it with plastic surgery. She doesn’t look good with that nose. Yes it may be, when there is nothing wrong. That’s why a good plastic surgeon is also a little bit of a shrink and they take the time to really talk to you about why you are doing your procedure … especially when there is nothing to fix.
@Mzizkrizten – I was more referring to the general obsession and focus on one’s looks. This would be coming out of nowhere if Rachel got a nose job considering she has been in the business for years and I am not aware of anyone ever commenting on her looks as a problem so yes, this would seem like a desperate move by someone who doesn’t need a change. I think Rachel is a lovely woman and always has, but that first pic looks strange IMO. I hope she has not done anything to change her face. I love how people take offense on here because of their own thoughts about themselves. People say things all the time on here that aren’t flattering to me but I never take offense. My breasts are wonky but I never once take it personal when someone comments on a celebrities breasts. Chill down. Maybe you had a nose job and that is your business I don’t care. That is a really unflattering photo. I’m not sure about the nose job, but she definitely has no upper lip in that photo.
I think the new Godwin’s law should be that on a celebrity gossip site, it is only a matter of time before someone suggests either A.) A celebrity (primarily female) has had plastic surgery or B.) A celebrity is gay. In this thread, we already have both. I do not think Rachel had a nose job. I think it’s an awkward smile and the flash made the shadows of her nose disappear so it looks different. I’ve also never understood the claim that Jake Gyllenhaal is gay. Other than “Brokeback Mountain”, which was a movie, what makes people think he’s gay? Is it all his relationships with women?? Or is it just that a man gets to a certain age and if he’s not married, he is gay – à la George Clooney?
No, I think it’s the long, sordid tale of “Toothy Tile” and how Ted C has a very long list of who it’s not, and Jake has still not been ruled out even though he is the most popular guess. One can argue that Ted C did his very best to “out” him.
Funny how people actually believe that 1 blind but that would imply they believe Jake is hiding a child somewhere too. Seeing how he loves kids and dotes on his niece and nephew (and he’s the godfather of Mathilda Ledger!), I highly doubt that he would hide his ‘gay’ life to that extent. I so agree with everything you said in your post. There are very few celebs who escape being accused of surgeries, or being gay (not that it’s a bad thing). Those are the well liked ones. Everyone else gets these blinds written about them and people eat it up as gospel.
I probably have been guilty a time or two myself but when it comes to a few blinds from people like Casablancas I roll my eyes. He thinks he is so in the know but doesn’t have that great of a track record, in my opinion, with being accurate.

Or she got botox which raises your eyebrows a bit. If you compare older pics of her to this, her eyebrows are set higher and it gives her a completely different look. Her face also looks far less expressive. So, I am throwing my hat in for botox, and a bit too much of it.

Are you referring to Lainey? If so you are correct. What I don’t understand is hasn’t Lainey and the writers on this site and every other site hinted that Jake is gay yet they all want to gossip genie him with some female and right now it is the adorable Rachel. Jake is ugly to me anyway so I hope she stays fat away from that gross bearded creature.

About Jake, maybe he’s gay, maybe not, but I don’t put his perrogative as the ultimate proof. This is Hollywood, every actor -Even the B-list- has interests in their careers and after the recent boom at international box office in homophobic markets like Russia or the Arabic Gulf countries it will keep a lot of closet denials from high profile actors.

I wish these actors’ teams would stop trying to keep these poor guys in the closet. If they’re hot and good actors, we’re still going to swoon and still going to see their movies. And respect them a LOT more for being honest and not parading around with hired girlfriends.
I think they are co-stars who are becoming friends- as has been mentioned several times here already. They are in pre-production for a film and a few of those sighting have been them in larger groups.

Rachel will play Jake’s wife in the movie. Anthony Fuqua, the director, was there with them. The movie is about boxing. They were at a boxing match… I mean, I would actually love to see them together, they make a cute couple, but it looks like they are meeting for work and there is nothing romantic there, sadly.

Regarding the nose job – it absolutely looks like she’s had one. The bridge is way smaller and her nostrils are more visible now, it’s like they took off some of the tip. Compare to her earlier pics.
