Ugh, Kanye West is still talking. I mean… YAY. Because I actually enjoy his nonsensical rants, even though he gives me a headache because I’m trying to figure out his philosophical loop-de-loops. Kanye spoke to a Power106 FM yesterday and once again explained his thoughts on power, change, creativity and President Obama.
Kanye West has never been shy when it comes to voicing his opinions though they may raise eyebrows from time to time. This time he went on rant during a radio station interview criticizing elected leaders, saying he is on a ‘mission from God’.
The 37-year-old rapper was interviewed on Power106 FM this morning and said of President Obama, ‘You can’t effect change from inside the White House like that …You gotta have the money,’ but admitted, ‘Good ideas usually aren’t connected to money as much …Creativity and extreme genius are extremely cheap.’
However, then he went on to contradict himself saying that good ideas ‘usually aren’t connected to money as much.’
West bragged about his own ‘creativity and extreme genius,’ but then said that people who knock him him for comparing himself to Apple founder Steve Jobs and other innovators are simply misinterpreting his true meaning.
‘Don’t worry about how I’m saying what I’m saying,’ he insisted. ‘Look at what I’m saying and how I feel and how my intent is.’ He then had a warning for those who criticize his thoughts. ‘You do not want to go against the power,’ he said. ‘I’m working on one mission, and that’s a mission from God.’
Sigh… I would fight with him about this, I would yell about the insanity of telling his haters that he’s on a mission from god… but I can’t. It’s not worth it. Just pat him on the head and move on. Which is basically what Annie Leibovitz did too. After Kanye criticized Annie because she, in his words, “pulled out of the wedding, because I think she was scared of the idea of celebrity,” Annie must have words with Yeezus and they released a statement together:
Kanye West and photographer Annie Leibovitz may not have teamed up to capture West’s recent wedding to Kim Kardashian, but the artistic heavyweights are working together now to squash reports of drama between them. Forty-eight hours after he made the accusations, West released a joint statement with Leibovitz to Us Weekly, changing his tune.
“Kanye West’s comments about Annie Leibovitz while speaking at the 2014 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival have been taken out of context and sensationalized,” the statement reads. “Although Kanye expressed frustration that he was not able to collaborate with Annie Leibovitz at his recent wedding, he is not assigning blame, and is not accusing Annie in any way. Kanye and Annie’s representatives were in negotiations for weeks that were not completed by the time of the wedding.”
The statement included a quote from a representative for the shutterbug, reading, “Annie would have been happy to do the portrait but she was never confirmed.”
“It was Kanye’s dream to bring together for the wedding his favorite creatives – Riccardo Tisci on the dress, Vanessa Beecroft on the experience, and Andrea Bocelli – Kim’s favorite singer – singing Kim’s favorite song as she walked down the aisle,” the joint explanation continued. “The first choice to capture one of the most special days in Kim and Kanye’s life: Annie Leibovitz. Annie Leibovitz – the legendary photographer responsible for Kim and Kanye’s recent Vogue cover – is not known to shoot weddings. But Kanye West dreams big. He loves and respects Annie as a true artist and wanted to bring her eye for beauty to the imagery of the event.”
While Leibovitz’s absence may have been a loss for Kardashian, it was a win for Conor McDonnell, a 22-year-old photographer who nabbed the wedding gig. His image of Mr. and Mrs. West kissing in front of a wall of flowers earned him the title of taking the most-liked photo on Instagram.
Long story short, Kanye begged Annie to do the photos at the wedding and she kept saying no, and he got pissy about it and bad-mouthed her and she was like, “Slow your roll dude.” #YeezusTranslations

Because Kanye wasn’t ranting for a while, I think we all forgot just how crazy he was. And now reading this, I think it’s the ultimate reason Beyonce and JayZ didn’t show up to the wedding. His rants/thoughts have gotten excessively crazy since being with Kim. I don’t know what caused it, but if he’s anything like this in person, that friendship would decline REAL fast. He and Jay hung out a lot in the beginning of the relationship, but that’s when Kanye was still “fun crazy”. Now, he’s just gotten looney.

@me, Kanye is the most blatant example of narcissistic personality disorder in celebrity culture today. His need to only be associated with ‘number 1’s’ reflects his own God complex, and Kim is married to him (the ultimate no1), therefore she is number 1 by association. Narcissists are shallow by definition, and it’s highly doubtful that he has anything beyond a superficial relationship with anyone – anyone associated with him is there to supply his unquenchable need for attention and adulation.
Kim is too narcissistic and shallow herself to know any different, especially considering the type of person her mother is.

I think that Annie has money troubles. I’m not clear on all of it but at one point I think she ended losing the rights to some of her most iconic photos and she bought three brownstones and reno’d them to make one giant house and that set her back some. I think that she put her photos up as collateral for some loans and then when she couldn’t make the payments she lost the rights to them…she was also Susan Sontag’s partner and I suspect that she may have worked less during Sontag’s illness. I am hazy on the details (and can’t be bothered to look them up) but that’s why she may be taking on work that would have once been deemed beneath he.r
