Taylor Swift really is working out at the gym, ‘she really wants that model body’

FFN_Swift_Taylor_INI_070114_51467008

A few weeks ago, I pointed out something that I thought was pretty obvious: that Taylor Swift just goes to the gym in NYC to get pap’d, not to work out. The story/confirmation came from Star Magazine. They claimed that Swifty never works out because she’s naturally skinny, but she just wants to be seen as “the girl who goes to the gym.” So she goes to the gym, hangs out there, drinks a smoothie and primps, then walks out so the photographers can get some glamour shots of her NYC street style. Well, these are new photos of Swifty… leaving the gym on Tuesday. Do you think she worked out? Or do you think she just wanted everybody to look at her outfit? Her outfit is cute though.

But I did want to point out another wrinkle – I do think Taylor is aware of the rumors that she’s not really working out. On Monday, she got pap’d leaving the gym with wet hair. Like, she showered after a tough workout and she wanted people to see that. Us Weekly even has a source who claims that Swifty has been working with Karlie Kloss’s trainer at ModelFIT and Swifty “really wants that model body.” Swifty already has a model-y body and I hope she doesn’t want to lose weight. She looks fine. She has a lovely figure. It’s just her weird, crazy, cat-lady brain that I worry about.

  1. It is what it is says:

Say what you will about Swifty, she is beautiful

    • thinkaboutit says:

Her body is beautiful but she’s generically cute in the face — like Karlie Kloss without the “it'” factor. I hope she doesn’t start messing with her mug now. Not everyone has to look like a model.

      • Nona says:

Ummmmm I don’t know what you’re smoking, but if Taylor isn’t beautiful, I’m not sure what you consider beautiful

    • T.C. says:

I think Swifty is pretty but wouldn’t go so far as to say beautiful. Her body is slim but not toned so I don’t see a problem with her wanting to work on it. Soon her metabolism will catch up so it’s also healthier to know how to workout than starve your body like Kate Middleton. Good for you Swifty.

    • Jay says:

Her face looks like a scrunched up rat face to me, but her body is very nice (minus the bolt ons)

  2. Audrey says:

She already has a model body….

I hate tearing down swifty though. She’s so harmless

    • Sullivan says:

I agree. Swift is harmless. She works hard and she doesn’t get into trouble.

    • We Are All Made of Stars says:

Seriously people, trash-talking your “exes” and role modelling developmentally arrested boy-obsessed poor me princess girl behavior to silly tweenypoppers isn’t harmless. It may not be a war crime, but it isn’t harmless either. I always have trouble believing that people seriously find her influence to be completely neutral.

      • jenniferjustice says:

I hear you. I usually just yawn when i hear or read about her but I def think she is immature, whiny and self absorbed and shallow but the clincher is she isnt a child or even a teen any more. She has seen alit of the world now and still doesn’t seevbeyond her bubble and that is not inspiring to young fans.

I heard Chris rock say in an interview a long time ago that wealth opens a lot of doors and provides opportunities – its all about what doors you open. Think about all the things you could do with real wealth – I mean really getting your hands dirty and the experiences you’d walk away with – things that change you.

But yeah, clothes and the gym and fishing for compliments…whatever. It needs to be said People, stop with all the “but she already has a models body”. Like that isn’t the exact response she is looking for when she says thats her goal? I love you all but you have the word “sucker” written on your forehead.

      • Lil' Sausage says:

Thank you, yes!! She is so far from harmless for all of these reasons. I find her perfectly loathsome. Her voice is the sonic equivalent of Exclamation perfume; instantly recognizable, cloying, migraine-inducing. Anyone who writes a song begging someone to stay with her because “no one else is gonna love me when I get mad, mad, mad… ” is a level 10 bratty-ass brat.

    • kri says:

I’m just saying, after that VS model Mean Girl’d her at the show, she has been haging out w/ Kloss and doing that weird KK NYC pap walk, costumed as Betty Draper. I think her bod is amazing, but she won’t rest til she getso n a runway.

  3. Eleonoy says:

Damn I want ALL her shoes.

  4. Marianne says:

Yeah she doesn’t need a model’s body when she basically already has one.

But I don’t really buy the “Im working out storyline” either. I would buy it more if she was leaving a Yoga class or something.

  5. Kayl says:

I think she wants a Victoria’s Secret body, not just a model body like the sticks you see in high fashion. For that, yeah, she is going to have to work work work and tone tone tone.

  6. Word Girl says:

I hope swift won’t try to lose weight but maintain it. Models are deathly skinny. I hope that she avoids that unhealthy lifestyle and image. What I like about Swift is that she is talented and has, what seems to be a healthy body image. She looks like she eats properly. Actually, Kate Middleton could take notes from Swift. I just hope Swift’s parents keep a good eye on her health wise to make sure she doesn’t lose sight of what maintaining a healthy body image really is.

  7. Lizzie says:

Taylor is a beautiful girl. But she is going to end up in some Grey Gardens situation in her future.

  8. Neelyo says:

Models don’t go to the gym for their bodies, they don’t eat. At my gym in NYC there are runway models who occasionally come to the Pilates classes. They have no strength and are built like praying mantises.

    • Jay says:

Exactly. They barely eat and appear toned because there is almost ZERO body fat to cover up what little muscle they have. Minimal strength training will have them looking toned.

    • hunter says:

I also live in NYC – during Fashion Week you can spot the models because they are the super tall girls who look like spiders.

I think to truly be a working runway model one must be SO skinny and SO tall it is kindof gross. I walked by a photoshoot the other day and the model must have been 6’2″ and THEN in heels, she was hugely tall and so thin, their life beyond modeling must kinda suck. 🙁

  9. NewWester says:

Every time I see Taylor out and about in NYC, I can’t help feeling she is writing new music about being a young woman in the city. All the pap photos would certainly work in a music video. She is a smart woman , she knows how to work the media

    • jenniferjustice says:

Hearing the theme song to the Mary Tyler Moore show “you’re gonna make it on your own….”

    • H2O says:

That’s a good idea. I hope she does it.

Working out will give her a good muscular structure and strengthen bones. She’ll have good posture and can eat more.

  10. Abbott says:

Dunking your head in the water fountain before walking out of the gym does not count as a work out… does it? *puts on shift dress and lipstick*

    • maybeiamcrazy says:

LOL I don’t know if she is working out at gym or not. When I get out of the gym, all I wanna do is to go home and lay down and she wears pretty dresses, puts on make-up and blows her hair?! Why is she doing that to herself?

    • Allie says:

Right? How convienent that as soon as these rumors populate, she all of a sudden comes out of a gym at least now trying to look like she works out. Everybody should work out, because its healthy for you, but it actually annoys me that it states she wants a models body. She already naturally has one, and I’m sorry Swifty, you’ll never be sexy as a vs model. Too cookie cutter cute. With a dash of stalker crazy.

  11. Kath says:

That first photo just reinforces how much I HATE mobile phones and the lack of privacy that comes with them.

There was a story in the Daily Fail about a woman giving birth on the pavement in Birmingham in the UK, and despite kind people holding up sheets to protect the woman’s dignity, the number of people who took graphic photos of this COMPLETE STRANGER and posted them on Fakebook was sickening.

Now whenever someone is in a life-threatening situation, the first thing people do is whip out their damn phone.

OK, too much of a rant for a Swifty pap walk, but still…

  12. Adrien says:

Hey, what’s wrong with cat-lady brain? The world needs more cat-ladies. And I’m OK with Tay-tay working out as long as she stays away from Tracy Anderson. That woman will transform Tay’s body into a 12 year old boy’s body.

    • Jaderu says:

      Thank you!
I came just to rant about the dig at cat-ladies and our brains! Our brains are just fine!! Other than the whole tendency to rant about perceived persecution of cat-ladies thing. I’ll go drink coffee and then come back.

  13. Ice Queen says:

Lol, she’s harmless, annoying but harmless. Let her be.

  14. Lamb says:

This is exactly what I look like when leaving the gym. My hair is perfectly curled and I’m wearing my cutest skirt and heels. Oh wait, no. I’m sweaty, my face is red and I’m wearing workout clothes! This is not what people look like after a workout! I think the girl is pretty with a great body, but these are pap strolls.

  15. hannah says:

i’ve asked this question before:Why isn’t she carrying a gym bag?

    • RobN says:

Maybe a permanent locker at her gym? I’ve got one at mine so I don’t think it’s particularly uncommon. For a really small fee, they even launder your stuff.

It does kill my ability to blame not working out on forgetting my gym bag, so there is that downside to it.

    • Amy123 says:

I wondered this myself. I have never seen her with a bag at the gym. Claiming she may have a locker doesn’t make sense because she would need an entire room to house her clothing, make-up, and accessories. Frankly who would spend all of this time doing hair and make-up after “working-out”?

  16. sonalaceae (Nighty) says:

Can I laugh???? (Don’t hate her nor like her, she’s prety indifferent to me,.. just detest a dolly looking face trying to make fun of people)
She’s skinny in an elegant way…
She goes to the gym and comes out of the gym looking like a doll… with the pretty dresses, make-up and blown hair…
Never seen a bag with her in her strolls where she might carry blow dryer, clothes (or does she work out wearing dresses?? Maybe she does, probably doesn’t know what a tracksuit is…) or anything else one actually needs….
The only “gym” she does is lifting her channel’s or whatever handbags and stroll in front of the paps….

  17. SnarkySnarkers says:

I really wish she would get rid of the deep “Donald Trump comb-over part” and the side swept bangs. Other than that, shes a very pretty girl with a beautiful body who annoys the crap out of me.

    • Kiddo says:

That’s not a comb-over, it’s a side part. Donald Trump has pieces pulled randomly from every side and far as the hair on his toes.

      • SnarkySnarkers says:

I know its a side part lol, I was being sarcastic. Its looks like his comb over because of how deeply parted on the side it is. In my opinion its just not flattering.

    • ella says:

+1. Looks to me like she’s trying to look like Karly Kloss or however the hell you spell it.

      • maybeiamcrazy says:

So she wants to have a model’s body and her inspiration is Karlie Kloss AKA the blandest VS model. That’s sad.

  18. poppy says:

well, if the model work-out involves nothing but having a crew work your appearance, exit building and a pap stroll i totally believe it.
certainly appears she reads the gossip @ her.
    as Lizzie said, grey. gardens.

  19. Chris says:

There’s a bit of definition in her legs. She might be working out.

  20. Kiddo says:

So basically, there is nothing to report about her?

  21. Lara K says:

She’s young and still trying to find who she is. This is harmless. So many of her peers are into drugs and worse.

If she wants to play Carrie Bradshaw for a while, let her. Why not?

She works hard, does tons for charity, and is generally nice. In my book she has earned a bit of latitude.

  22. TheOriginalKitten says:

Nope, I do not believe that she works out. At all.

She has a very slender and model-like body.
On a side note: I LOVE that she loves cats.

That being said, for a pretty girl, there is something just so antiseptic and unsexy about her.
Coltish yes, but sexy? Nope, not even a little bit.

    • Elise says:

Even when she tries to dress sexy with mini skirts and dresses, and low-cut shirts that show off her bolt-ons, she always appears awkward…reeeeeeeally forced. She’s not sexy at all.

    • Catt says:

TheOriginalKitten_ Antiseptic is the perfect word to describe her sexuality.

    • sonalaceae (Nighty) says:

      antiseptic… lol…. She’s so stiffed, like a doll…

  23. kristina says:

She’s getting super skinny….hope she doesn’t keep going like this!

    • T.C. says:

She’s not getting super skinny. This has been her size since forever. She just used to hide her body before and is now showing her shape off. She looks healthy just needs some muscle tone.

  24. Elise says:

I’m sorry, but Taylor is NOT working out. First of all, where the hell is her gym bag? Does she just leave her twee toddler clothes there overnight? Second of all, most women – including myself – look like sweaty beets after a rigorous workout. Even a light workout would make the skin flushed.

    • Cheryl says:

Twee toddler clothes..good one! That summarizes it. Even her workouts need to be princess workouts with fairy tale endings? Magical unicorn workouts?
The strange thing about these photo events to me is the lack of imagination or purpose in having a reason to be out and about NYC…is there nothing going on in her day? Is there no other reason to pull twee outfits together and be out in the world?

      • H2O says:

You do need a reason to go out in NYC, especially if you have a free form job like hers. I have a friend who’s lived there a long time. One of the first things he said when I was visiting was that he goes out every day. It is a badge of honor. It’s easier to just skip it and stay in.

    • maybeiamcrazy says:

I don’t think she is working out either. No woman puts on high heels after working out.

  25. Sarah says:

I feel like I’d enjoy spending a day of my life as Taylor Swift… she intrigues me.

  26. may234 says:

I don’t know about NYC, but out in LA just being skinny isn’t the same as “model body”, you have to have tone and muscle… This place can be really nuts. I remember when I first moved here and went to the gym, my trainer told me that you have to have 8% body fat to be in “LA top shape.” I just laughed at him.

    • Jay says:

8% would be dangerously low for a female, almost impossible. What a nut that trainer must be. LA sounds like a terrible place full of hungry plastic people, smog, and traffic. Pass pass pass.

      • Tiffany :) says:

No, LA isn’t like that at all (except for the traffic part!). LA is filled with people from all around the world, so we have all types here. Some ARE really focused on being skinny and hot. But we also have a LOT of very casual types around here, hippies, lots of ethnically influenced style from our global community. There is a lot of style freedom, and people express themselves in different ways.

    • Lisa says:

The minimum for even a bodybuilder would be 11-15%! Where the hell did that trainer get 8 from? Nobody could sustain that, even a competitor.

  27. wonderwoman21 says:

But do fashion models really workout? They look just skinny to me, never fit.

  28. Kosmos says:

She looks absolutely fine the way she is. She certainly doesn’t need to be thinner. Because her career took off, she’s had the luxury of meeting lots of people she would never have met, and they have undoubtedly had an influence on her. I think she’s a role model for younger women and I admire her for not dressing in an overly-sexualized way, like some. She’s trendy, yet likable and chic, which is saying a lot for someone in her age group.

  29. A Fan says:

She’s got a beautiful figure as it is – very feminine and delicate. Hope she doesn’t get all muscled up and ripped in that gym.

[*Too bad about the fake tits though*]
