Kim Kardashian either got a $3 million or $5 million settlement for her sex tape with ex Ray J. One story has Vivid Entertainment, which seems to have purchased the rights for the tape from Ray J, ordered to stop selling the tape at the end of May. US Weekly quotes a Vivid “insider” as saying they’re still able to distrubute the tape as long as they want, however.

Usmagazine.com has learned exclusively that Kardashian — who in February sued adult video distributor Vivid Entertainment for releasing a homemade video of her having sex with ex-boyfriend, singer Ray J, without her consent — will be paid by Vivid a settlement totaling close to $5 million.

Sources also tell Us that Vivid has agreed to cease distribution of the video by the end of May (but a Vivid source claims the settlement payment is “closer to $3 million” and that “no decision has been made as to whether or not distribution will stop”).

“Kim is relieved that she can now move on from this embarrassing chapter in her life,” says a Kardashian pal.

Steven Hirsch, co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment, released a statement saying, “We are pleased that Kim has dropped her legal action against us. We met with her several times and finally reached a financial arrangement that we both feel is fair.”

Hirsch continued, “We’ve always known we had the legal right to distribute this video which became an instant best-seller and we’ve always [wanted] to work something out with Kim so she could share in the profits.”

Kardashian has always denied that she played a part in releasing the tape, but an publicist released a nasty rant about her recently, saying that she was directly involved in the tape’s leak to the public. The nasty film was rumored before it’s release to end with a golden shower, which was either nonexistent or cut out of the final version.

Kim Kardashian’s superficial friendship with Paris Hilton is said to have ended due to hypocritical Paris wanting nothing to do with her after the news of sex tape came out.
