A few days ago, I was glancing through this week’s Goop-letter and I kind of gave up on Gwyneth Paltrow. I mean, I never really believed in Gwyneth or her message, but I enjoyed seeing her struggle to talk down to the peasants and try to make their lives more like hers. But these days, Gwyneth’s Goop-letters have been so… I can’t put my finger on it. They’re just paid advertisements for all of the fancy places she prefers, or they’re advertising for her various gurus and snake-oil salesmen. This week’s Goop-letter is all about the Hamptons, which is where Gwyneth summers annually. She usually “takes off” for the month of August. As in, there are no Goop-letters for about five weeks while she’s on vacation. You don’t even know how hard she works though. The struggle of her life, the difficulties she faces talking down to people and deigning to recommend the perfect blow-dry bar in the Hamptons.
Anyway, in a brilliant stroke of cross-promotion, Page Six says that Gwyneth is already in the Hamptons… with Chris Martin.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s “conscious recoupling” continues. The pair, who announced their separation in March, have been spotted together numerous times in the Hamptons this week.
Chris and Gwyneth dined with their children at Bay Kitchen Bar on Monday evening in East Hampton. Then on Tuesday, Chris dropped into sports store Gubbins to pick up skateboards before heading to meet Gwyneth and their kids Apple and Moses at nearby Fierro’s Pizza.
One witness said, “They were operating like a couple, and with the kids looked like a happy family.”
It’s been speculated that a reconciliation could be in the works. People magazine recently reported, “They haven’t made any concrete decision to get back together yet, but clearly it’s a possibility . . . some of the pressure was just taken off.”
So, it’s happening. Chris came back to her. She gave him the space to figure out his sh-t and he came back to her. Does this make her more smug? Does she get to give interviews about how she has it all figured out and that she’s great at giving relationship advice? Here’s the thing: while I think she has every right to feel smug that Chris has returned to her, I don’t believe that much of the past year was on her terms. And I still don’t think her marriage is on her terms. I think Chris has done whatever (and whoever) he wanted and he will continue to do so.

Why does her hair always looks so damaged, straw like…and yellow. I mean, she is incredibly rich, she has the money to fix it.
Her skin is overly tanned and leathery too. I think it’s a certain look of the uber rich. I see a lot of Gwyneth clones where I live, in a very wealthy north east suburban area. I think they look dehydrated and washed out.

I so agree, and that’s what hit me while reading this article — why is her hair always so horrible, dry and damaged looking??! It’s just awful, and this look will only get more and more harsh as she ages.

I remember Goop saying in an print interview years ago (Harper’s Bazaar I think) that she has double-processed blonde hair. So clearly her hair has taken a beating due to all the chemicals over the years and it shows.
Double processed? Wow,it must be darker than I thought. I have dirty blonde hair, which is what I thought she had, and the peroxide lift is plenty strong enough.
I have heard she has curly hair, which I believe because her mother does. Chemical straightening and bleaching at the same time would mean that the hair is double processed.

Imo, when a person has hair that damaged, it’s mainly about the body lacking nutrients/minerals that support hair growth and strength and too often too many aggressive procedures involving bleach and heat. Affording expensive products and procedures doesn’t matter. Good hair is about taking proper care of the hair from the inside and the outside, good health, proper nutrition, genetics help too, and a peaceful inner self.
My immediate reaction! I was a white blonde as a kid, and wore my hair platinum for many years with darker ash breaks here and there, but at some point I realized dyeing it like that was starting to age me instead of being fresh of fashionable. Time to let go, Gwynnie.

she really curated herself into a corner. she was always loathed by some but when you enter the “national conversation” in regards to being to out of touch and up your own a$$, generally disliked by the mainstream, time to go away, which she never will.

^This Gwyneth Paltrow is still famous because we, as gossipers, love bitching about celebrities. She is such an easy target to make fun of. IMO, Chris and Gwyneth’s marriage was based on common benefits. They are still comfortable with each other because there was never a huge blowout or anything.

She’s famous because of her career and her parents, she is not maintained by our bitchiness, she may not be my favorite person but she has done a lot to keep herself out there in the public eye.

I agree. I don’t like her, but in this photo the kids appear to be laughing/smiling as they kiss her, so there’s genuine affection. As much as I think she’s a boring stiff, I would never accuse her of not wanting to be with her children or ignoring them on any level.
True- we snark about the restrictive diets and only allowing the children to watch tv programs in foreign languages, but I don’t think anyone accuses her of being an absent, distant parent. Like, I truly doubt Kim K. spends much time with Nori. I question exactly how much time Mariah Carey spends with her babies. I feel pretty confident that Gwyneth spends a good amount of time with her kids, and she’s pretty involved with them.
So I’ll give her that.
The only thing that I worry about her, with her kids, is her diet crap. Like even if she lets them eat a healthy, balanced diet–they’re still seeing that she’s going on these fasts, different diets, excess drinking, etc….you still see that. And I feel like it’s very damaging to kids, in ways that we wouldn’t know until they’re older. That’s the only shade I have towards her parenting…..

I don’t think they are back together at all. I think they have agreed to have vacations with their children for their children. I think that is good parenting if you can do it. Letting your children know that you are still family even if the parents are not together.
Chris seems to be enjoying his life.
Is that by some chance her natural hair color? I don’t think it is, which is why I really can’t imagine why someone would choose that color. It looks particularly harsh in sunlight.

Oh man, she looks very different than she used to. Hasn’t copped to work she’s had done but it is lots! Known her since she was a child.
She looks amazingly the same as she did as a young woman, I don’t think she’s had much work done at all. She has been in the eye since a teenager, you can google her as a young woman, the skin and hair are different but the bone structure is unchanged. She’s just blessed with good looks.

Agree. Same was with Jude Law and Sadie Frost, they vacationed together often. It’s very popular in France and Sweden too as I know it personally. I like it, it’s a very European thing to me (assuming both parents have no abusive or such memories of each other, of course).
My parents went through a stage in the divorce where they thought it would be easier still to do some things as a family. They thought we kids would appreciate the continuity. It mostly just gave me false hope that they would reconcile. Anyway, who knows what Martin & Paltrow are thinking. Mayim Bialik does things with her ex and her kids pretty regularly, and their divorce is finalized. I don’t know if we should read anything into this either way.
And what of Chris Martin and the cat-eyed Ms. Chung? She might have decided to cut him loose and send him home to Gwynnie. The douche is strong in Martin.

I don’t know why I like Gwyneth as much as I do, but I do. With that said, it would be nice if her and Chris got back together. Divorce is very hard on children, and it would be good for the kids to have both of their parents together in the home again (only if the love btw the parents is there and they are not getting back together just because).

I think she discreetly tried to find someone to move on to — at a level she deemed worthy — but couldn’t find anyone willing. She has way more baggage now than she did when she was an eligible bachelorette who could seemingly land any guy.

Take heart, even if they shipped to your country, are you fortunate enough to be able to afford them? She also found out she’s suffering from a severe vitamin D deficiency and osteopenia – not enough calcium and D in her diet to support her bones. Probably from that weird diet her whack-job trainer has her on.
I don’t get the Gwyneth hate. I mean, I certainly see why she rubs people the wrong way, but in general, she’s harmless (unlike, say, Uncle Terry). If she and Martin are keeping it friendly/civil – be it for their kids, or just for themselves, to not devolve in “War of the Roses”-type hostilities – well, isn’t that to at least be admired?
I do agree that her hair looks fried beyond belief. It would behoove her to move to a warmer color blonde. The shade she is at looks too harsh for the texture of her hair and against the hue of her skin.
I think their relationship is exactly the same as it always been – open! They had to do something when Vanity fair tried to rumble them last year and consciously uncoupled is what GOOP came up with. Pretentious Assholery more like.

Um, she sleeps with other people too. And she prefers married men. I think it is all very much on her terms. Goop isn’t some poor little woman scorned — that narrative’s old hat anyway, and when talking about wealthy celebrities, it gets even more ridiculous.
Yeah–I’m not understanding the whole ‘Poor Goop is just twiddling her thumbs at home, and taking care of the kids while Chris carried on’….NO. Remember when she published her schedule–where she basically made her kids breakfast, took them to school, ‘worked’ on Goop for an hour or so, and then worked out for another four hours–YEAH. Now we know why. Because Goop was getting her groove on. She had hers and then some.
I remember reading that schedule. The “work on goop for an hour” made me laugh so HARD.
I think this is more a case of Gwyneth relented. She knows he’s not going to stop messing around, and that fact is part and parcel of keeping him. I think she will have an added smug-factor because of the stupid “conscious uncoupling” – so technically they never separated and there isn’t a chink in the armor of her marriage. I think the reality is that she is the one who will suffer this beyond anything Chris suffers in the marriage.

OH please. He agreed to spend time with kids and her on a couple vacations a year. Part of “conscious UN-coupling”. He is not back to her no matter what you see or hear. Just doing what she demands to get out. BUT TWO HORRIBLE PARTS from what I’ve heard is 1) that the women he is in love with though (who had NOTHING to do with breakup – they were over years ago)-has about had it with this. At first she thought she could handle it for the kids sake and she and Chris ADORE each other, plus she knows the Entertainment Business etc. and how it works…. but she is really getting upset by the fact that GP is still controlling Chris, while the other lady is being portrayed sneakily badly by GOOPERS team! Think, not positive, “conscious uncoupling” GOOP stuff is planned over a year….and Chris is trying to speed up and Gwyneth use it to her advantage with continued games. It would be so sad I if Chris loses his real love because of Gwynie- that is one of two things I think anyone who knows them cares about because they care about Chris. Chris is begging his sweetheart to stay, seeing her privately at friends houses, sending her little hidden messages etc. but he may well lose her. I thin Gwynn’s PR is being straight forward? They announced that the are consciously breaking up. How is Gwyneth the villan? It appears to me that Martin is doing what he should be doing: putting his kids first. Alexa knew what the deal was anyway, if Alexa values herself, she would leave. Any smart woman or man knows that any freshly divorced person will have loads of baggage. The dust needs to settle in the from during and from the process of the divorce. Alexa at this point just looks desperate to hang on. Martin and Goop really should be focusing on the kids and getting their own lives back together before they rush into relationships because, if they don’t then they will just treat their new partners with their crappy suspicions, expecting the new partner to behave like the old one. If Alexa dates this man, he is going to talk about GOOP to her. Why would any single woman in her right mind go for that kind of “fresh meat”? No person in a divorce is a complete saint. Martin and Gwynn both contributed to their divorce. I believe Chung can find better.

The media doesn’t know what a functional divorce looks like i.e, “conscious uncoupling”. I think GOOP made it very clear what she and Martin were doing, divorcing while behaving like an adult! Gee whiz, you’d think that the media would understand why a couple going through separation would take the kids out together and even perhaps go on a vacation, so the kids can continue to have some level of normalcy in their lives. I can say, I profoundly respect GOOP and Martin for “keeping it healthy” in regards to their relationship for the kids. After all, Gwynn and Martin still have to see each other for at least another decade, why not do their best to enjoy it? I’m glad GOOP is continuing with the blog because I believe it is her place of serenity. Honestly, her clothes are priced around the same as Posh Spice, and Posh, who never smiles and body language just reads snob, doesn’t receive the hate that Gwynn does. I see that Gwyneth is smiling again, I hope she works through her depression and comes out of it on the better side of life. Life can be extremely hard when going through depression, and I believe that the weight on Gwyneth’s shoulders was much that she became delusional about her life in comparison to us plebs. I forgive her for that. I hope her and her family continue to make healthy choices as they work through these difficult times.

Gwyneth seems a lot happier too. It appears that neither of them wanted to stay married. I’m glad that Gwyneth is doing the smart thing: controlling her own PR. Because if she doesn’t, the media will make this look like a faux war, furthering damage to their kids. I’ve never seen any celeb do this. Gwyneth is a hell of a lot smarter than I first thought

Technically, Gwyneth NEVER EVER said “divorce”. Nothing has changed except that the public is aware that the two have stepped outside their marriages and I still think it was never in the cards for them to actually divorce. This was glittered Huvane-spin in response to the Vanity Fair expose on her, I’m convinced. I and so many other readers called it here: they were never divorcing, they avoided scandal, and justifies their infidelities with a whole lot of new age touxhy feely BS that people arent meant to be monogamous. Well played, Gwyneth. She got to have her cake and eat it too, which had always as it’s been for her.
I don’t believe they’re back together. Not every breakup is acrimonious, and theirs never seemed to be.
I think they’re just extremely-civil exes who still like each other well enough and who want their kids to see that everything is okay — there’s no need to take sides.

While watching Morgan Spurlock yesterday, I had an epiphany about these two. Huvane (her PR) has been calling the paps everytime Chris leaves the house. She told him to do it because 1) it will get Ghost promoted (which by the way IS an album all about her boohoo) and it will give her a boost in the settlement. 2) she knows Chris hates photographers and has been running from them for 10 yrs. 3) she knows eventually he’ll get busted with Alexa and that will make everyone feel sorry for her and paint him as the bad guy. Her post uncoupling tactics are evil and calculated, but his chronic cheating should be brought to light as well. It’s just an underhanded way for her to get the upper hand, but ironically she is so disliked because of her need to one-up people. If they really have reunited, she needs to change that about herself. I actually feel sorry for both of them.
