Christina Aguilera shows off her third-trimester bump with fiancé Matt Rutler

I keep forgetting that Christina Aguilera is pregnant. I think that’s by design on her part. While she confirmed her pregnancy back in February (when she was presumably about three months along), Christina has barely made any public appearances since then. Very few red carpets, only the occasional paparazzi shot of her. She hasn’t gone completely underground like Eva Mendes, but Christina definitely seems like she doesn’t want this pregnancy to get too much attention.

Anyway, Christina, her fiancé Matt Rutler and her son Max Bratman were spotted out in Studio City this weekend. Rutler seems a bit cleaned up – he’s usually kind of scruffy, but he looks nice here. Christina looks content too – she’s so big! I think her bump is doing that optical illusion thing which happens to many short girls – the shorter the girl, the bigger the bump looks. That being said, Christina looks like she’s pretty close to her due date. She’s due in… maybe the next month? Max is six and a half years old now. He seems excited about Christina’s pregnancy – the photos of Max touching her bump are really sweet. The baby must be kicking.

What’s going on with Christina and The Voice? My mom watches The Voice and she hated Christina on the show and she’s so happy that Gwen Stefani is going to be on now. I guess producers asked Christina to sit out another year? But will Christina even return next year?

Yup…I’m a short girl and I was always being asked if I was having twins! My son only weighed 6 pounds! I was all stomach! Lol. Christina looks great and ready to pop!

    • Audrey says:

Same. I couldn’t sit or breathe because my bump was huge and I’m short.

I swore I was having a huge boy. Had a 6 lbs 4 oz girl.

I always feel for the small gals when they get pregnant. In my family, the tall gals end up looking just ‘thick’ until about 6-7 months in (which actually can SUCK – if happy about being pregnant, constantly having folks just think you got heavy for no reason is… rough.) whereas the dainty ones….

let me put it this way. More than a few times I was tempted to pack one or another into a car and use them as the ultimate ‘safe sex lecture’ visual at the highschools. From the front? They would look totally normal. From the side? Dear god above, it would look like they were either having a litter OR the kid was practicing an elaborate pole dance routine, using mommy’s spine as the pole. When small, there is just so much less room to put anything. You end up getting your lungs kicked up into the back of your throat. Makes me incredibly happy I’m 6’2, frankly. And congrats on your little boy!

Ah yes my little sister is 5 feet tall and under 100 lbs. She had TWINS in that tiny frame and big twins at that, one was just under 7lbs and one right over… she looked like a circus act! People would stop her and say OMG how? why? are you ok? LOL poor thing

Someone I know had a baby, she wasn’t particularly petite or short or anything, but the baby was so big that it broke her ribs! I was like… Twilight much?

Awe, her son touching her tummy is so sweet! Bet he’s excited to have a sister.

    @Kaiser …

Christina ‘will be’ returning to the show after she gives birth, but Cee-Lo Green ‘will not’ be returning (I think, due to his sexual harassment case … you can’t have parents thinking one of the Judges is taking advantage of their teenaged daughters who make it onto the show).

I couldn’t find any of the earlier articles, but here is an April 29, 2014 “TVline” article by Andy Swift about Gwen Stefani replacing Christina for Season 7 and reporting that Christina will return for Season 8 (I also found and article saying the Producers of the show had asked Christina to come back for Season 7 during her pregnancy, but she declined):

We also didn’t see much of Christina during her first pregnancy. Some women just don’t have comfortable pregnancies and prefer to stay close to home. Just look at her. ‘I’ am uncomfortable just looking at her! 🙂

It’s annoying that anytime a pregnant woman is in public it’s called showing off. She’s just walking. I doubt Christina was fired/forced out from The Voice. She’s late in her pregnancy. It’s not far-fetched to assume that she would give birth sometime during the season. It doesn’t make sense to replace her mid-season.

I don’t think it’s meant in a negative way, like she’s such a show off , but in a happy proud way. But I see your point. She might just be going to the grocery store, and she has no choice but the baby go with her.

I remember thinking Max was kind of an odd-looking baby, but he’s such an adorable kid! I’m happy for Xtina!

  6. Mimi says:

Kaiser nailed it! Being short and pregnant SUCKS! I am only 4’11” and looked like I had swallowed an overly inflated basketball when I was pregnant with my son. It was ridiculous. My sister-in-law really wants me to try for a girl…B***h, please. Congrats to Christina, though lol.

  7. serena says:

So sweet! Max is really a cute little boy!

  8. Selina says:

Christina confirmed in an interview for Wango Tango that she was asked for season 7 but would have been too far in her pregnancy for filming. So she’s back for Season 8. She is who Mark Burnett said embodied the show when he was creating it, and she’s polarizing good TV so I don’t think she’ll leave unless it’s by choice.

  9. Lex says:

She doesnt look overly big or ‘ready to pop’.. maybe youve known only tiny pregnant women.

    • Poink517 says:

      I agree! She looks fine.

Also, I hate the phrase ‘ready to pop’. When I was pregnant, I made that very clear. We’re not balloons, for goodness sake.

      • amara says:

Haha I hate that phrase, too. And I really dislike “baby bump” or any version of “preggo/preggers”.

I do think she looks fantastic. 🙂

  10. kc says:

She’s covered up head to toe. She is NOT showing off.

That language when someone is just being really bothers me. Christina normally ‘shows off’, but the term is highly over used with pregnant women who cannot help that their bump is present.

    • kri says:

Truly-what is she supposed to do? Hide in her house til her “Awesome Post_Baby Bod” (I loathe those headlines on mag covers) is back? She is late in her pregnancy-that is what many women look like. I like that she’s kept it low-key.
