I’m so tired of looking at Johnny Depp dressed up as Whitey Bulger, but those days shall soon be done. These are photos of Amber Heard visiting Johnny in Boston on Monday. It was the last day of Black Mass shoots, and Amber brought her sister, Whitney, to hang with the crew. Amber also brought some reading material, Major Problems in American History Since 1945. The book is a standard college textbook for freshman-level history courses. My guess is that Amber is brushing up on some history for a role.
There are a few new Johnny stories floating through the ether. I don’t know if any of them are true, but let’s have some fun. Radar says that Johnny has been secretly partying in Boston while Amber’s been busy shooting The Adderall Diaries:
Johnny Depp went from a man falling out of a bar drunk to gushing about having babies with his fiancée Amber Heard in just a few short months but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that friends of the Transcendence actor are worried he’s not completely out of trouble yet.
After his relationship with his partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, was over, the A-list actor was spotted out and about in various places partying up a storm and causing concern in his inner circle about his actions.
Now that he’s engaged to Amber Heard and blissfully happy with her by his side, a source close to the Pirates of the Caribbean actor admit that they still worry about him.
“Johnny was so wild for so long and it’s hard to believe that Amber has straightened him out completely,” the source told Radar. “Last year he was partying with six chicks and getting turned away from bars, this year he’s quietly going to dinner with Amber and you never see him do anything wrong.”
However, while the change in attitude is more than welcome by his close friends they’re still concerned that he could start partying again.
“Johnny always seemed like he was having a great time out partying, and it wasn’t just because a lot of women were around. People are afraid that he’s just stopped partying or is hiding his partying to be a good and upstanding guy for Amber.
“No one wants to see him go down that path again so they’re hoping that Amber is keeping him in line.”
This story is likely based upon a tiny kernel of truth from a 2011 video of Johnny stumbling drunk through the street during the height of his problems with Vanessa Paradis. I don’t doubt that Johnny still unwinds with some brews. He’s probably hangs in his Bulger baldcap and knocks back a shot every night, but I don’t think Amber needs to worry about whether Johnny “could start partying again.” The dude is so unflinchingly, unapologetically devoted to his lady. He’s not going to screw this romance up with a few bottles of whiskey.
Here’s another tale that’s been floating around for about a week. Johnny is supposedly addicted to Groupon and other discount outlets. He really gets a kick out of getting a bargain anywhere. From an early-bird dinner to coupons for jewelry, “Johnny can’t resist a bargain.” This is a guy who owns his own private island, but “he got so excited at the prospect of a deal, he used it in a restaurant to get 40 percent off his bill. He felt bad about it afterwards and left a $200 tip.” Something tells me this is one of Amber’s made-up tales to test her friends. Good one.

UGH…for some reason, I cannot stomach these two together….and I used to love JD…now I find him repulsive! And even if she becomes Mrs. Johnny Depp, Amber will never be a major star…she is a horrible, horrible actress…
I can’t either. And I have always been a huge, huge Johnny Depp fan. I loved their family with Vanessa, may be I’m biased because of my connection with France but… I do believe she loved him. We’ve met them a number of times in Provence as that’s where we go each summer, it was just a coincidence they lived in Plan de la Tour and we always stay in the area. 🙁 The way they looked at each other, the way they truly looked in love, even after the kids, I don’t know. I don’t believe it was Vanessa who ended it or at least not willingly. To me she suffered this separation and she aged after it ten years in two months. I’m sorry he chose this way and I can’t stand the smug face of this woman. I feel like a little girl facing the end of the fairytale. Yes, I may be naive but Johnny and Vanessa looked truly in love. (and he didn’t get her pregnant two times by accident, so please don’t bring this argument, Vanessa never “caught” him really, he stated the moment he saw her back (!) he knew “I was a goner”)
Also, I read a quote by Johnny from an interview he gave in 1998 during the promotion of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, after he had left Kate Moss (and before he met Vanessa). He apparently said he longed to be a father, but that it was difficult to find the right woman. So, even if Vanessa got pregnant quite quickly after meeting Johnny in 1999, Johnny was ready for it. And though I never was a fan of Vanessa – I liked kate Moss best for him – I don’t believe for a minute Vanessa ‘trapped’ him with her pregnancy! Yes, thank you, I remember now he said this. To me time is not always the most important thing. In fact, my first child was also quickly conceived and we both knew we wanted it. My sister in law was even quicker and they have such a lovely family. Sometimes we just meet the right person and there is absolutely no point dragging our feet, IMO. Anyways, I think they genuinely loved each other and I’m very sorry Johnny went down the hill ’cause that’s how it feels to me.
The smugness is huge. That along with her try-hard phoniness makes it almost impossible to like her.
I don’t see any reason to dislike them this much, they seem genuinely in love but oh well, people only seem to like couples that fake it.
Amber seems very phony – Johnny seems truly smitten, but she just seems like she’s manipulating the whole relationship. Weird kind of love.
Amber is not even taking advantage of him or the relationship by talking about it or him or use him to get better roles so nah, I don’t think so.
when Vanessa went pregnant with Lily, she and Johnny were already separated. that’s info that’s even on her fan boards…
And in other interviews the same Johnny told that when Lily born, he and Vanessa were separated as a couple again. But they had to make it work because they were parents now (that were his own words)
Johnny stayed with her because Lily. He didn’t complained much because Lily was the best thing that happened to his life, and then after came Jack.
All the rest was a part of him idealizing and trying to make it work and it seems as it worked for a while. But they didn’t even knew each other. Vanessa went pregnant just three months after they met and for some reason they weren’t together at the moment. Maybe the lust panned out? (the first three months are pure lust) or their differences were already showing up? who knows.
But the fact that they spend so much time apart along their relationship, shows that they didn’t were a perfect couple. Maybe even as a capricorn and gemini always are, they were highly incompatible

She looks just like Keira Knightley. I think that’s where his true crush lies, but Knightley was probably unattainable, so he settled on Heard. Makes for a good read, though.

It’s funny that since they have no pics, and no evidence, no sightings, that they insist that Johnny is partying on the sly. It’s like saying, you must be the murderer because we didn’t see you do it!
There was a blurb (gah! hate that word) in People that said Depp was at Regina getting a slice and has been hitting up a lot of the local sandwich shops, so unless he’s getting drunk on cold cuts, I think the partying stories are greatly exaggerated.
Also, the blurb said that Johnny was incredibly nice to staff and locals, taking tons of pics with people, etc. As much as I long for the mystery of Old Pre-Amber Johnny, he really is a hard dude to hate. Seems like such a genuinely nice guy.

I have to admit I still think he is a nice guy too. But I don’t like how he handled the divorce from Vanessa (whom I am not a fan of, by the way). I think he fell head over heels in love/lust with Amber heard when he met her on the Rum Diary set. But he seems to be one of those guys who can’t choose (too ‘nice’) and in the end Vanessa probably was forced to end the relationship because he was making life impossible for everyone. Afterwards he said that he stopped drinking because of the children, which might be true, but it is also very likely that Amber gave him an ultimatum. I also didn’t like that he said that his children ‘completely understood’ when he explained to them the reasons for the divorce. They were only 13 and 10 years old at the time, it wasn’t their job to ‘understand’. All in all, I think Johnny is a nice guy, but also a weak guy, and one who is not adverse to spinning the truth when it serves him well.

The rumor about Johnny drinking in secret is an old one which has been circulating for months. No idea whther it’s true or not. However, as a recovering alcoholic, Johnny is always at risk of falling off the wagon. For him it might be a real risk, because I have a feeling he stopped drinking because Amber made it a condition if he wanted to be in a relationship with her. Quitting an addiction for someone else rarely works. The high of the new relationship might compensate for the ‘loss’ of an addictive substance, but it usually only does so for a limited amount of time. I have heard that in AA it’s recommended to be single for at least a year before getting in a new relationship. That being said, I wish Johnny the best with staying sober.

It doesn’t matter why he stopped drinking, If Amber make it a condition or if she makes him to realise that he could have hurt his own children if he continued for that path. Or even if she warned him or rewarded him with sex, whatever. it doesn’t matter. The only thing it matter it’s that IT WORKED!
And it’s easy to see it worked, looking at how healthy Johnny is now. He lose all that fatty-bloated drunk appearance that he had since around 2010.

Now THAT’s a stupid thing to say. When Johnny was drinking too much he was an adult man in his late forties. He couldn’t and shouldn’t have blamed his drinking on being unhappy with Vanessa. Drinking too much was HIS responsibility. I know his team (with his authorization?) tried to blame J.’s bad behavior at the time on Vanessa. And that’s a good example of the unhealthy spin that has gone on when he left his family in order to be with Amber. It’s the manipulation of public opinion that has made me like him less.
They were filming in chelsea MA which I recently moved to. There was a big crew and I asked what was going on and they said it was for a mayonnaise commercial. Couple mins later they filmed some guy getting thrown out a window haha.. That’s when I realized this wasn’t for mayo! Esp at the dingiest hotel I’ve ever seen. They finally admitted it was for his movie. Didn’t see him anywhere but it’s cool they are filming in my neighborhood

the story from radar it’s very old. It’s from April, far before he started to work in Boston. And, he hasn’t seen drinking yet. There are some pics of him from what it seen as the wrap party of “Black Mass” and he had red bull with him, not alcohol

Amber comes off as a total airhead, trying to throw barbs at Richard Dreyfus because he didn’t remember who she was (they were in a movie together) when he met her in an airport. Dreyfus later posted on Twitter that in his defense, Amber kept calling him William Shatner…..Sorry, cant see what’s so “special” about her, no matter how hard Johnny and company tries…..
