I might have to turn in my Dork Card because I keep forgetting that Guardians of the Galaxy is a Marvel property. My bad. So it’s no surprise when an Avenger turned up at the UK premiere of Guardians last night. Okay, it’s a little bit surprising considering the Avenger was Chris Hemsworth, whom I dubbed “The Largely Absent Hemsworth” last year because he was largely MIA during the promotion of Thor 2: The Dark World. I guess Chris has gotten with the program? Maybe he was coaxed towards the program by his wife?
In any case, Chris and Elsa Pataky walked the carpet last night. They did matchy Dolce & Gabbana ensemble. Chris loves a good vest. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I guess it’s a nice summer look? Sure. As for Elsa’s D&G dress… it’s okay. It’s very David’s Bridal. I hate the styling. The way she put that tiny leopard-print purse around her shoulder like a messenger bag… well, that’s totally 1995. All the ladies did that in 1995. It looks like Elsa is growing out her hair too, which I like. This in-between stage would have been awkward on a lesser woman, but it really works on Elsa. Last thing: WOW, she is still breast-feeding, huh? Her girls look amazing.
What else… Forbes has declared Chris to be the fifth highest-paid actor in Hollywood. In the past year, he’s made $37 million, just behind (in order) RDJ, The Rock, Bradley Cooper and Leo DiCaprio.
Last thing: Star Mag claims that Chris and Matthew McConaughey are boy-fighting over a role both want in The Brotherhood. Although it’s not much of a fight because the director apparently loves Chris and Matthew won’t be getting the part.

I know everybody hates Elsa but I think she is gorgeous and they look happy together. So happy she’s growing her hair out! I liked it short but she’s SO much more beautiful with long hair!

I think she is so pretty, too. I don’t know much about her personality, so I can’t comment on that, but she’s beautiful and I love seeing pictures of her.
I think people dislike her for other reasons (her past relationships, Chris Hemsworth, sexy videos and on and on), however she’s an absolutely stunning and gorgeous woman. And I’m probably the only one who likes her dress lol
I wonder if her daughter will grow up to have her old face, or take after Chris more?

The dress is meh. Kinda reminds me of that lower end designer from the ’80’s & ’90’s, Jessica McClintock. She always did those super frilly/ lacey dresses that were just sooo saccharine. I’m totally dating myself here, does anyone else remember her?
I recognized the name right away. I can’t remember if it is because she was big, or because I was a fashionista wanna-be.
It has potential to be a cute dress… But something about it is off. The styling? I can’t put my finger on it.

I saw Katie Holmes pictured in one yesterday. And the same odd thing with hers too… it just does not look like a finish dress. Something off about it.

I don’t think Chris has any acting roles ‘publically’ book in after Avengers, think he’s going to hold true and take a break.

Ask Adrian Brody about the castle he bought her and how she dumped him for Chris because Chris was going to be a bigger star.
Ask the interviewer who was talking with Chris about the time that Elsa interrupted and made him look at and comment on her bum when she was on the cover of a fitness magazine. Ask him what he did with the magazine that she signed and forced him to take while in the middle of Chris’ interview.
Ask the director of the last movie she was in if it were she who suggested that she be topless, even though it had nothing to do with the storyline and wasn’t warranted for the scene.
Ask the director of Thor if Elsa wouldn’t let Chris kiss whatshername and instead made the director film her in her place.
She is beautiful, but she’s a very calculating, fame-and-exposure-hungry person.
Natalie Portman wasn’t available for the shooting of the end credits scene of Thor2, which was done months after the original shooting of the film. Elsa didn’t make anybody do anything on that one.
I think Adrian Brody is super cheesy and seems pretty douchey, and Hemsworth is a definite upgrade-so she gets a pass from me there. 😉
Plus, didnt they film that end credit scene way after wrapping and it had to be shot in China where he was filming another movie?
Elsa is an actress too. She was established in Spain before she came into the US.

I can confirm Adrien Brody is pretty douchey and any grief she caused him only elevates her in my book. I also concur that CHemboy is an upgrade.
@MAF, yes, it was one of the added scenes, shot when he was in Hong Kong and Natalie was in France. They used the same wig and you don’t see her face.
How can you confirm that Adrien Brody is douchey? I think he’s a great actor and strangely sexy…but i haven’t heard any douchey stories. Cheesy he does seem at times…curious about the gossip, though.
Did she do all of this? Lol, she just might be one of those people who are so, so ridiculous that it’s funny to watch.

I find it completely unfathomable that Chris is the fifth highest paid actor. For serious? That guy? He couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag.
Not quite sure how Forbes calculates its list either. Yes, I understand how Downey took the top spot. Iron Man 3 did well and Downey’s Marvel contract basically throws a huge chunk of the profits his way but Hemsworth’s contract is not structured the same way at all. He’s one of the lower paid Marvel contract players and he doesn’t get the back percentage like Downey does – nobody does. Can’t imagine that his contract for Rush moved him that high up the list.

I thought so too. And he was naked too. I may have to watch it again tonight. Oh, and Daniel Bruehl should have received an Oscar nomination for his part. Far more deserving than Jonah Hill was.

I love it when girls wear crossbody purses instead of clutches on red carpet. I find clutches weird, I always want to have my hands free. The bags Taylor Swift always carries would drive me mad (she also holds them in the bend of her elbow which seems so uncomfortable and unpractical).
They have a place in London. The Avengers 2 has been filming in England. Thor 2 was filmed in England.

I always have a cross body purse, I can’t stand anything else. That said, I would not wear one on the red carpet.
I just saw a whole thing about white lace dresses. Elsa’s is OK.
Cross-body bags have been pretty big recently, especially 2012/2013. I don’t think it goes especially well with this dress, but cross-body bags are a more recent trend than 20 years ago.
I guess I must have been avant garde then…lol I’ve been wearing cross the body purses for at least 20 years. And only recently got my first ‘one shoulder’ purse. They hurt! One shoulder is scrunched up and it hurts your neck and shoulder, plus changes your posture…at least for me. Prefer cross the body-comfy, functional and more secure, too, when walking in areas where you need to hold it close to you.
She looks great for just having twins, killer figure. I’ve never found her face attractive though. Don’t care for the dress, either.
Hemsworth is a terrible actor. He may be eye candy but if he looked average he would be selling tires at Auto Zone. It is painful to watch him in movies.
Chris is OK for the kinds of movies he does. Thor and The Avengers aren’t exactly Casablanca or Citizen Kane. He’s not doing any lifting when it comes to movie roles.
I have to give a shout out to Adrien Brody. Not sure where the douchy thing comes from, but he’s been great in a a lot of things, the performance he gave in the pianist was the performance of a lifetime and so worth the oscar. I think he’s very attractive, nose and all. Not keen on the overtly hunky type but I quite like Chris, he’s a good Thor but he’s no Adrien in the thesp department. The

Marvel Studios always has its talent show up at the premieres of its movies to keep the buzz going for upcoming projects. The actors on the TV show “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” were on the red carpet for the Guardians of the Galaxy Hollywood premiere. So, Chris was on the clock for Marvel. Elsa really didn’t need to be there because it’s not a Thor film. She just took the opportunity to be seen. She may be a name in Spain but she’s no big deal in Hollywood.
When I saw Chris on the Forbes list I was surprised too. 37 million? He and his agent must have re-negotiated his Marvel contract for him to get a fat up-front paycheck plus a percentage of the box office, DVD sales and rentals for the Thor films.
Elsa is so pretty. Really beautiful. And she looks normal…Her hair, her eyes and her face all look like a real person, not whacked out on drugs or narcissism. I appreciate that she doesn’t make odd poses. She just smiles. So refreshing.
she looks in that dress, and I think it’s not an easy dress to wear. But the thing I envy her the most is … her husband!
For once, I give Pataky credit because she looks like a respectable woman and the mother of three young children in this photo. Normally, she would have only worn the lace with nothing underneath, so I think this is an improvement for her. She doesn’t look her usual cheesy and fame whoring self in her pose. Kudos for the improvement, and I hope he’s happy. He is very good to look at, seems like a nice person, IMHO–Adrian Brody, not so much to look at (but a very good actor indeed).
