At this point, I think we can just expect Duchess Kate to wear tight and/or revealing clothing. Ever since the last Bum-gate scandal, Kate’s biscuit has been on forced lockdown, and there’s even a strong possibility that someone was hired to look after Kate’s flyaway skirts permanently. But Kate still loves to show off her body. And so she loves jeggings that are so tight and slim, they look painted on. She wore a pair of jeggings to the 2012 Olympic Torch event that left little to the imagination. She’s worn darker pairs of jeggings over the years too, usually paired with those GD wedges of doom (Stuart Weitzman).
And so it is again. Prince Harry, Kate and William are attending the Commonwealth Games in Scotland today (this is like Day 5 of the games I think). Kate wore painted-on jeggings and the wedges of doom again. Just for the record: I don’t have a problem with Kate wearing jeans for an “official” event like this, when it’s sports related. She often wears casual clothes for sporting events. That part of it is fine and I think it’s keeping with the informal dress code. But I don’t understand her insistence on wearing ONLY these too-tight J Brand jeggings/skinny jeans/whatever. It’s like she’s appropriately business-casual from the waist up, and from the waist down she’s a college freshman at a keg party.

Yeah. This site is always way too hard on Kate. All women her age and of all ages wear skinny jeans. My sixty something neighbor just showed up in a pair as tight as hers. With all the elasticized fabrics now skinny jeans are incredibly comfortable.

I agree. They make it seem like she is wearing straight up tights where you can see, um, details of her biscuit. She isn’t and you can’t see anything in appropriate. I don’t understand all of the harping about Kate. It seems half of people think she should dress more fashion forward, and the other half thinks she should dress more conservatively. That makes it sound to me like she has found a happy medium.

I don’t see the two as being mutually exclusive. If you look back at Diana or any of the current Crown Princesses/young Queens around the world, they manage to be fashion forward (color, pattern, design, etc) in conservative silhouettes.
I agree, I think she looks nice in them and she has nice legs. She is young but I see that there is always a squawk about what she wears–if its too expensive she gets dragged, now this simple outfit gets complaints too.

The wiglet is back – no one has full hair like that; check out her pre-engagement photos. She has about as much hair as the rest of us…looks great though. Her make-up looks better – is she wearing false lashes? Her skin is glowing – that must be due to all the smoothies she’s drinking, or trusty photoshop.

This has been suggested. William absolutely has a type. And there’s a timeline of how Kate slowly changed her appearance to look like William’s exs and his preference.
And a few times where Kate’s attire when only around William shows her skirts getting shorter and shorter.
Personally, Kate had style I loved before she changed everything about herself. Comfy, but ftted and tailored. Nothing try hard. Very genuine.

So, I think she’s going to look modern and normal by today’s standards. I don’t think this looks tacky. She wears enough dresses the rest of the time, so skinny legs now and then is okay in my book.

I love looking at the photos of the Spanish king and queen. There is so much sweet, sweet love between them, it’s easy to get carried away with the “ahh’s”. I think that William is happy with Kate, but I wonder about the depth of his love – I never see him giving her tender looks and all that kind of stuff that men do, when they are in love with a woman. And Kate looks like she tries very hard to get his approval. William looks more comfortable with Harry.

It’s not that this site, or the people who post here are too harsh. Kate needs to dress as a duchess. I tire of hearing people saying stop calling her Kate, she is a duchess. But the reality is that as long as she dresses the way she does, if she continues to flash the world her private parts and does little in the way of work, people will never see her as a Duchess. The question was somewhat rhetorical, though I agree with your assessment FLORC (I take points off for her weight). I checked out Maxim – and the photoshop is spectacular, Megan. Some people get more attractive, the more you know them, but it’s opposite here for me. In my artist’s eye, I see a mousy woman…just kind of brown and grey. I’ve debated the reasons as to why, and I have come to conclude that it is because she does not care. Blame it on Willy, blame it on Charles…*she decided not to care* about her public image. She is extraordinarily slim, and this is how people who are that slim look when they wear pants that fit, especially the cropped slim fit pants that are in right now that she is wearing. And I’m sure if she wore shorts she would be criticized about the length of those as well. Cut the woman a break already.
There’s slim and there’s emaciated. Kate USED to be slim, now she’s emaciated. Why draw attention to it even more by wearing spray-on pants??? Sophie is dressed casually, yet appropriately and no, she’s not wearing a dress.
She is not emaciated, please stop diagnosing a perfectly healthy woman with an illness because she is thinner than you prefer. There are plenty of women with her body shape and there is nothing wrong with it. And the fact that she used to be heavier is not an indication of emaciation; many women’s body shapes change as they age, and no they don’t all get heavier.

@Jaded – When did your friend see her? I think she is very skinny now, but there was a time after the wedding (Canada tour) that she looked absolutely scrawny. I think in these pics she’s actually put on 10lbs since then.
Nina, have you ever seen a photo of Kate where she is not “touched up” by photoshop or where she is not wearing clothing that conceals/pads her bony ribcage, sternum, clavicle, etc.? Many of us have and she is really quite frail underneath the high necklines, coats and padded bras.
The camera can put on as much as 30 pounds.
Remember the photos of her on her honeymoon. She was walking on the beach with William and was a bone rack. You could see her ribs, her clavicle, her hip bones. I couldn’t believe William found cuddling up to that rack of bones appealing after those photos.

Kate’s jeggings are so tight they create a camel toe which we’ve seen every time she wears those pants with a top doesn’t cover her crotch.

I love my painted on J.Brand skinnies. But how are those hideous shoes still fashionable? I saw some at a thrift store the other day when I was dropping off some stuff and thought “ugh Waity Katie shoes”, and now here she is still wearing them. I know she has a problem letting go (remember those horrible slouchy brown and black boots she wore for years? Even in the summer?) but the kind of shoes she holds on to are the horrible trendy ones. I refuse to call her choice of footwear “classic”.
I love my J Brand skinnies, too, but I’m not working for the Queen. That’s where Kate fails to understand what is appropriate when working for a conservative “firm”. There are looser fitting jeans on the market and if she wanted to wear jeans, then she should look for something not so damned tight and form fitting.

Kate looks nice here. I’ve come to the conclusion that she is not pregnant like I thought since I think they would have said something by now. I could be overestimating the amount of months that have gone by since I thought she was pregnant though.
Waity reminds me of my “sexually competitive femail” friend. She has no bossom to speak of. Too scared to get a boob job so makes do with taking the contraceptive pill to boost her normal A cup. But I digress. They only thing she has going for her is a size 6 figure which she squeezes into spray on jeans. That’s her uniform. Even at work. No point in wearing low cut tops. Nothing there. She freaked when she changed jobs recently because she might not be able to wear her beloved revealing jeans! That was a major concern for her. The males at her work who she relies on for promotion might not look at her if she had to wear professional attire. Her body might not be visible – her stock in trade.
Now waity feels all she has got is the acheivement of being skinny. And boy is she ever not going to remind us all of that. She would freak if she had to cover up. I think its her covert way of getting willies attention too. Like wearing no undies to be “dangerous and available”. Stripping off nude on holiday etc. She knows he’s not interested. If she had her way she would wear inappropriate tight casual pants at every offical occassion. So leaps on these “casual” opportunities to fly into the spray ons again. Its a very purposeful move.
She does seem to project this need to sexualize herself.

I’ve always been a Kate apologist but I have to say I’m worn down. I am SO sick of seeing this outfit on her. With all the shopping she does this is the best she could do?! What about white jeans and a cute blouse and some Tods? Or a floaty summer dress and a pair of espadrilles? Ugh.
The floaty dress would *whoops* float up around her waist yet again showing her nether regions to the world for the 40th time.
A cute cotton skirt? Jeez-I see cuter outfits on moms picking their kids up from summer camp. I don’t understand this boring blue and white look and those god awful wedges. And I can’t believe a blue blazer could make me stabby-but she’s driven me to it.
This outfit is too nautical for a boxing match and the pieces aren’t in proportion with one another.
I love espadrilles! Does Kate have any?

This past weekend, my husband said “please don’t start dressing like Kate Middleton.”

Someone in my family walked past me and thought I was reading a story about Lindsay Lohan, they saw Kate walking in the skinny jeans and high cork shoes on my computer screen, and said why are you reading a story about Lindsay Lohan? Hahahaha 🙂
She loves the camera like her American twin Kim K because normal people would look at the person who is talking to them, not Kate, “Where’s the camera?”
I’m sick of this outfit, and she won’t change it like she won’t wear underwear ha. Hey, at least she wore a new shirt and not that repeater navy striped shirt.
Does anyone else notice that she always knows where the camera is? And she just loves being the darling between the 2 princes. That’s why she’s probably thrilled that Harry is single and alone – she has no competition.
Those jeans with that jacket always look out of proportion to me. The jeans are too skinny, they even ripple on the legs because they are too small. They also aren’t long enough so they look like crop pants. The jacket looks to big in proportion when you look at the hem of the jacket as it borders up against the jeans.
Not classy enough for a future Queen and a bit to nautical for this event. I wonder what the problem is with navy blue pants or regular jeans for Kate or a pair of flats instead of those tacky cork wedges she seems to love.
I keep on wanting Kate to call Emma Watson’s stylist but I don’t think Kate would listen to any advice. She comes across as one of those women who isn’t very bright or aware of perceptions of herself but is supremely confident in what she’s doing. A bad combination in someone as tone deaf as Kate.
I’d wear those jeans on my own time, but I’d NEVER put those wedges on my foot with them. NEVER. I’d wear a pointy toe flat, ballet flats, Tods driving shoe, or maybe a kitten heel pointed toe. Not those damned wedges. And those jeans should never appear again on an official royal visit that is a given. SHE NEEDS SOME DIRECTION. (no cleavage, no skin tight pants, no fly up skirts. Wear underwear. Keep your hands out of your hair. Kill the manicial grins.) Good night, Kate.

Kate can’t give up the teen forever 21 and combination sex kitten look and go full Princess Mode, because Prince William may no longer be attracted to her, if she did. IMO It’s telling she was around him for a year or more at university and his eyes didn’t open up and view her romantically until he saw her modeling a see through lingerie type underwear-dress. William liked the tacky raunch in Kate and she will keep giving it to him, if she stops and becomes properly dressed, truly elegant , stylish, hair up or neatly styled Princess, …William will be turned off. IMO he likes her tacky , it makes him feel like he really stuck it to his royal establishment.
In other words, she can’t please the Palace establishment and William, ( because each have opposing views of how they would like Kate to conduct herself) so she will always please William, the man who got her there.

Eh, I don’t care about the wedges or the painted on jeggings – I’ve seen them at least a dozen times before on the “fashionable” duchess. But holy Botox Batman – those eyebrows are now stuck in a permanent Moriticia arch.
