Last week, OK! Magazine put Jennifer Garner on their cover with the title “Ben & Jen Shocker: Jen’s Pregnant!” Despite the title, the OK! article only claimed that insiders thought Garner could be pregnant, based on some recent photos of her looking bumpy. Yesterday, Star Magazine doubled down on OK!’s report, claiming to have an exclusive that Garner and her husband, Ben Affleck, were expecting their fourth child and that Garner was four months along. Here’s that coverage:
Star has learned that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are expecting baby No. 4! In this week’s issue, a family insider reveals that the actress is about four months along and that the pregnancy “came as a complete shock.”
The surprise development comes at a tricky time for the pair, though — they’ve recently been struggling with their nine-year marriage due to Ben’s compulsive gambling, history of cheating and breakneck work schedule. However, so far, the pregnancy news seems to be helping the marriage.
“Ben has been going above and beyond lately: He’s checking up on Jen all the time and surprising her with flowers,” the source explains. “Jen thinks this baby could be the key to making her marriage strong again.”
Only Star was probably basing that story on the same photos that OK! used. Garner’s rep told People Magazine that it’s “not true” that she’s pregnant. That’s about all her rep said on the matter, and People filled in the rest of their story with some background on Garner and Affleck and their family.
So I guess that’s the end of this rumor, and I’m wondering if Star Magazine will still go to press with this “Garner is pregnant” story as planned. They have a couple of days. Maybe they published it online first to test the waters and see if she would deny it.
I feel sorry for Garner somewhat. She lives a charmed life but the paparazzi are always following her and the minute she gets a little gassy the tabloids call her pregnant. I would be pregnant whenever anyone bothered to pay attention.

Me neither. My weight fluctuates by 5-10 pounds all the time. I’d be on the cover of the tabloids constantly. I feel for celebrity women about this.

I always feel badly for Pierce Brosnan’s wife. She’s not really even a celeb-yet she shows up on every rag’s “Worst Bathing Suit Body” issue. It’s horrendous.
I hope she doesn’t care or read this trash. He loves her to the skies, she loves him, they have good kids. She’s just a normal woman, with her own normal face and weight. In the world full of look alike bodies, faces and hair, she’s just a breath of fresh air!
But I get angry on her behalf when I read this stuff too. I can’t stand Obama ever since he made that awful joke about Jessica Simpson’s weight after she’s given birth.
God, being famous would suck. I’d love to be rich and anonymous.

Awe, not James Spader! He actually lost a lot of weight for the Black List. I loves him 😉
He’s a great actor but he has made himself the shining example of how differently women in Hollywood are treated from the men. He let himself go weight-wise and aged naturally and was quite open about it yet still managed to get great parts whereas a woman would be criticized for it and would see job opportunities die.

Sometimes the best thing is just to not address such rumors. I saw some of the pictures of her and she did look pregnant to me.
Thing about pregnant rumors is at some point people will see that there is not baby and the rumor goes away.
I think it is pretty clear she is pregnant.
I also think it would be VERY funny if this site started measuring guys’ pot bellies by how many months along they are — like everyone is doing above. Can we make this a thing? Bump watch the men! Equal opportunity and all that.
Remember when she denied being pregnant with Sam? I do. Not saying one has anything to do with the other, but her rep isn’t reliable. If she is pregnant. She’ll announce when she’s ready.
Yep, she has denied being pregnant when she was (her prerogative, no judgement from me). I feel for her though because she always looks a little pregnant. She just has a tummy. When she is done having kids she’ll pbly have to do a tummy tuck if she wants to get rid of it. I remember when a friends mom conspiratorially congratulated me and asked when I was due, I was mortified and had to tell her it was weight gain. First place I gain is my mid section. It’s horrible! Jennifer’s life does seem pretty great but she has the Ben-problem and her tummy-problem, kinda evens things out!
Give me dairy, a few hours and I’ll have a four month bump, too.

Poor girl- 3 babies and in your 40s- let the woman have a bit of a tummy w/o starting the pregnancy drumbeat! Re the dress- think that “bump” is more the result of light and shadow and the fabric of the dress.

There are just some things you don’t speculate about. Pregnancy is one of those things. It’s such a private thing, esp first trimester. And as one commenter said, things can and do go wrong, and that’s not public information. I feel bad for her right now.
I still think she’s pregnant. Every time she’s looked like this before, she denied and denied and denied and then BOOM, pregnancy announcement.
It’s possible she’s pregnant but waiting to get an all clear on her anatomy scan before confirming, especially since she’s considered advanced maternal age.

I think it’s fair to wonder if she’s pregnant. This is Jennifer Garner who is still famous because of being a mother and seems to most often be pregnant anyways. That’s really her career now.

If she’s not pregnant, she could dress her body in more flattering styles and avoid this whole line of talk. Or try spanx under her dresses.

I have had one child. Now every month, when I am PMSing, things swell up and I look three or four months pregnant. And every month, I wonder if I am! It’s that convincing.
I feel so bad for her. She might be pregnant, but either way, I would like it if celebrities were given space on this issue.
