I’m going to try to take a moment for all of the kidz and maybe do some gossip that will be scandalous to the tweens and teens. Some backstory: Naya Rivera and Big Sean broke off their engagement a few months ago after many claims that he was fooling around on her. Naya proceeded to run off and get married to some dude, and she used the same wedding gown, wedding locale and wedding date that she and Big Sean were going to use for their wedding. Tacky ass. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande recently split with her boyfriend, Jai Brooks. “Sources” claimed Jai “wasn’t there for her” in her time of need (her grandpa recently passed). Ariana came out of the breakup looking good, like an innocent, doe-eyed naïf who would never bang Big Sean on the side. Guess what? She’s been banging Big Sean on the side.
New (and a bit surprising) couple alert! It looks like singer Ariana Grande and rapper Big Sean have taken their friendship to a new level. A source tells E! News that the pair, who worked on Grande’s hit “Problem” together, are dating.
“They have been friends since they made the song together. They have been spending more time together and recently have been getting very close. They are both doing great,” the source tells us. Big Sean’s rep had no comment on the matter, while Grande’s rep has yet to respond.
Arianna and Big Sean were also spotted at The Grove in Los Angeles after leaving the theater from a late showing of The Purge. An eyewitness tells E! News the duo came in about a quarter way into the movie, and only about three people recognized them. Source also claims that he saw the pair kissing during the film, and left before it was over.
Earlier this month, E! News exclusively broke that Ariana ended things with her 19-year-old Aussie boyfriend Jai Brooks last month. “When her grandfather was dying, everyone was there for her. People flew to Florida to be with her, but Jai didn’t,” the source said. “Ariana just felt he wasn’t there like he should have been.”
Meanwhile, the rapper was engaged to Glee star Naya Rivera but the pair ended up splitting in April after Big Sean, “made the difficult decision to call the wedding off.” Following the public breakup, Rivera shocked everyone by marrying actor Ryan Dorsey in a super secret Mexico wedding three months later.
I feel like this has been percolating on the sidelines for a while now. I mean, Ariana and Big Sean probably worked together on the song/video months ago. Granted, I believe Big Sean probably has several sidepieces and Ariana may be the one (out of many) in contention for his “official”. As for Ariana’s wholesome shtick… well, we’ll see. “Dating Big Sean” and “being wholesome” don’t really go together.

I recently ended up wathing Sam and Cat. Then I did a google search to find where she’s from because I couldn’t place her accent. Also, she gave long pauses between words or her slow enunciation. Now I know it’s just poor acting, but I didn’t believe it right off.

My son follows Ariana Grande pretty closely and she has hinted at wanting to date a “bad boy.” She clearly is looking to drop her innocent “Kat Valentine” personae. Also if you hear her in urban radio station interviews it is clear that she is not that innocent. How could she be after all she is 20 or 21 years old now
I really like Ariana. She’s got a great voice and her music is well produced, a throw back to ’90s Mariah. Her sound is so fresh and original considering what’s hip right now. She put old school R&B back on the map in the days of everything sounding as tecno and plastic as possible, and that’s enough for me to love her.
And she’s 20 already, even though she looks half that age. What did you expect from her? I’m really interested in seeing what will happen with Ariana’s career. I’m rooting for her.
I kind of feel for her, because I looked young for my age then too. Sometimes people expect you to be MORE innocent than other people your age when you look younger, because they want the package to match the personality, even if you have matured past that.
I don’t get R&B from her at all. She still sounds very commercial/pop to me. You’ve got artists like Janelle Monae and Melanie Fiona doing really original stuff and fresh sounds but not getting the exposure Ariana is getting.
As far as the Mariah comparisons, she only sounds like Mariah when she does her head-voice, whisper thing. She’s got zero on Old Skool Mariah. Nada.
I started off liking her and finding her adorable. But it seems like she’s going the Swifty-route and playing up the whole innocent little schoolgirl thing. I’ve also read a few of her interviews and she’s kind of annoyed me.
Agree! Mariah’s range was much larger and her chest voice and whistles were a million times stronger. She’s got nothing on, Mariah in the 90’s! You can tell how much her and her team try to actively emulate Mariah in her prime.
Ehhhhh…see, my son was watching that Sam and Cat show so all I hear when I see her face is that weird whisper voice thing she did on that show. For some reason, I caught her performance on some TV show and she looked 100% unsure and terrified, but half way through the song, totally forgot and let go. It was an OK performance but at the end, she looked all deer in headlights again, like she realized where she was and got scared all over again. It was all kinda bizarre. I’m not so sure of your Mariah comparison, I hear heavy auto tune.
On her looks; I can relate. Looking younger is both a blessing and a curse. When I was pregnant with my 1st at the age of 27, I caught a lot of side eye because I looked 20. I still got carded. Still got hit on by younger guys. I HATED it. Now at almost 40, I look like I’m 30. I still get side eyed when they see my 13 year old son though…ya know, from all the judgy judgy you had a kid too early folk… Ugh…her hair though…goodness.. it’s like a lion mane!

She is very commercial and a very well developed image. Her music is very poppy though it’s well produced, but many are these days. Her image and persona are cultivated.
That being said my only opinion (this is the 1st time i’m reading news about her) is this. Her music is mass produced pop. Nothing special. And her acting and voice are grating. She sounds like english is her 2nd language.
It’s all too fake and too much. Even Mariah in her day had to rely more on her voice. Now it’s too easily phoned in.
If you’re cute to begin with you’re a star. No talent needed.

Just because you have sex with a man doesn’t mean that you have to own all of the choices he has made during his life. Hooking up with a “bad boy” doesn’t mean that, like an STD, his “bad” behavior is some how infected your body and soul. If she cheated on someone, that is a different matter.

This girl must have one hell of a PR and management team behind her for being on a one term Nickelodeon show and mediocre singing to be getting so much press on the daily.
I guess my lack of interest is I really have no idea who she is outside of the little I read about her and admittedly have neither seen her act or heard her sing. I just know she is EVERYWHERE.

From my perspective, she has a great voice, I really like the quality. She has a crazy range, but most of all, I like that she sings more of a late 90s R&B type of style. For pop, it works.
