Three of the ladies from Orange of the New Black showed up at last night’s VMAs. They all looked like they had no idea why they were there. I assume this was a lead-up to tonight’s Emmys. You know who would have been great at the VMAs? Lori Petty. I wish she was a cast regular instead of appearing in a one-off episode.
Taylor Schilling wore a Halston Heritage dress that reminded me of a black orchid. No wait, a sparkly vadge. I’m sorry to make such a comment about fashion, but the bottom half of this dress is so awful. Taylor looks great from the waist up though. The Giuseppe Zanotti cuffed sandals add to the confusion.
Laverne Cox wore a glittering, royal blue Marc Bouwer cocktail dress. She looks fantastic. If I had one complaint, it would be that Laverne’s red carpet style may fall into a rut. It feels like she wears the same dress all the time (similar to Sofia Vergara’s style). Oh well. If it works, why fix it?
Uzo Aduba wore Alexandra New York and looked far too sophisticated for this event. Uzo makes such a grand transformation to play Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren on OITNB. It’s a shock to see her look so proper on the red carpet. The shoulders on this ensemble are a bit severe, but Uzo is lovely.

Although I do think Taylor has the type of refined facial features that looks best with minimal makeup. Still, I love all three of the so much.
Hmm, I’m actually feeling pretty meh on the entire line-up. Not bad, not great, just ‘there’. I think there are underwhelming styling choices, in hair and make-up, etc.

Laverne looks fabulous, although I would prefer it if her bangs were a bit softer or a tad shorter. Taylor is always blah to me – on the red carpet and on the show (she’s my least favorite part of OITNB). I didn’t even realize which character Uzo was until you said she was Crazy Eyes – wow! what a transformation she undergoes!
I agree, and I also wish she would stop trying to make that blonde color happen. I think she would look much softer with a darker weave.
Yeah, I agree about the bangs, I hate them. I really liked her hair on oitnb with the shoulder length bob.
Uzo, hands down. I always love her styling.

I don’t watch OITNB so I don’t know who these are but I gotta ask, is that person on the right born a lady or she’s transexual? I’m just really curious. Her voice sounds man-ish too so I’m just wondering.
She’s transgender, yes, and does a lot of good work in the community/media educating on transgender issues.

Uzo looks like she is going to a business luncheon, the other ladies dresses are cute but they should of worn different shoes. And Laverne’s make up looks like its melting or could be the lights. If the normal girl can afford MAC i’m sure she has access to better make up.
I just binge-watched the first two seasons of OITNB after the internet had told me one too many times that it’s worth the watch, and I think they all look gorgeous here. That’s not hard to achieve, though, when you’re usually without make-up, in prison clothes, under harsh fluorescent light and in various stages of neglect.
I think they all look great but I don’t like the hemline of Taylor’s, that is never flattering to anyone.

They all look fantastic! I love Uzo’s styling. She does look a little too stiff and formal in attire here but I’ve seen some other photos from last night where she looked damn fierce!
Gawdalmighty Laverne….between her and Beyonce, they have awesomegorgeousness sewn up, imo.
