Suge Knight was shot SIX times at Chris Brown’s pre-VMA party this weekend

wenn20115985

I’ve forgotten how many times Suge Knight has been shot in his life. Wiki describes a shooting at Kayne’s pre-VMAs party in 2008 when he was hit in the leg. He claims to have been shot in the head at Tupac’s murder, although that’s disputed. It feels like it’s been “more than three times” but I can’t be sure (and I might just be remembering “beatings” given to or given by Suge). And now I’m starting to think that Suge Knight is immortal. Over the weekend, Chris Brown threw a big party at 1Oak in LA for his album release, plus it was a pre-VMA party. Suge Knight was in attendance. Suge was apparently speaking to Breezy just before Suge got SHOT. Multiple times. Again.

Music mogul Suge Knight was shot multiple times while partying at 1Oak in Los Angeles early Sunday morning at a private party for Chris Brown‘s album release party during the MTV VMA weekend.

“It was organized chaos, Suge was shot right after talking to Chris Brown,” described a source to Page Six.

Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records along with Dr. Dre and the rapper The D.O.C., was among stars including Avril Lavigne, Mark Ballas, Derek Hough and others who had come out for the private party. Brown had earlier got on the mic and performed songs while standing at his table. Sources close to the club tell us that around 1:35 a.m., shots rang out in the club. “People said it sounded like firecrackers,” we’re told.

Another source added, “The music was on, then they shut the music off, then the music came back on because everyone thought it was fireworks.”

Another source said Knight was shot moments after talking to Chris Brown. One witness said, “Suge was talking to Brown who was on a podium. They seemed to be having a friendly conversation that lasted a few minutes. About 30 seconds later shots rang out and Suge was hit. The shooter definitely wasn’t aiming for Chris, because he was right there, stood above everyone, front and center.”

Knight was hit six times, five in the stomach and chest and once on the arm. Model Megan Hawkins, was grazed by a bullet that struck her in the butt. Instagram photos show her in the hospital along with the message, “According to the docs she is fine.”

Knight walked out of the club and calmly told police he’d been shot, and an ambulance was called. He was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery and is said to be in a stable condition. Other patrons calmly filed out of the club after the shots rang out. We’re told the shooter was arrested at the club. His identity has not been revealed but police are focusing on a motive of gang rivalry because of Knight’s affiliation with the Bloods.

In 2005 Knight was shot in the leg at a party in Miami hosted by Kanye West before the VMAs. Knight was also in the car when Tupac Shakur was shot in 1996.

Brown said he was upset about the latest incident on Twitter, posting on his feed early Sunday morning: “It’s disappointing that we as a society can’t have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bulls–t!!!”

But that didn’t stop him from hosting an after party in the Hollywood Hills, where, hours later, Justin Bieber was spotted walking around the party shirtless. Reps for the club had no comment.

[From Page Six]

It’s not really funny, but I appreciate the fact that many people’s first thoughts were, “I bet they were aiming at Chris Brown.” It was my first thought as well. But how crazy is this: “Knight walked out of the club and calmly told police he’d been shot”??? After he’d been shot SIX TIMES. Five times in the stomach. For the love of God. Suge Knight is immortal.

Here are some photos of Chris Brown at the VMAs. I didn’t even know he was there. Which is a good thing! The cameras didn’t go to him at all. And it’s a bit rich for Breezy to complain about violence at a party considering he nearly killed his girlfriend after some Grammy party.

Well being affiliated with gang members and then dropping them when you have ‘rehabilitated’ doesn’t always go well with said gang members.

    • Gea says:

Chris Brown prior to his rehab was very tight with red blood gangster from LA. Tupac was very often seen wearing red bandana back then. Reputation that this gang had was very bloody back in ’90 s. There were trying to get some finances taking care off, but Chris didn’t want to be associated with them anymore . So this was kind of pay off, I read this somewhere yesterday.
I am glade that Breezy is ok after all.

    • rapiscrap says:

Damn, I was hoping for a higher body count. A dozen of them should be in the DNS bin.

  2. QQ says:

Its also Upsetting Chris that you, convicted felon stay flaunting your Blood Piru Gang association then wondering whycome no one lets us have the Funs

The crazy shit is that Suge, a dude instrumental in the shadiest of shit on soooo many folks lives will probably die of old age in his comfy bed (also, sorry but lulz at his family’s statement preempting what we are all thinking saying “He is a Human and and and You guyses he has done good stuff for..uh ..the community”)

Also the person that shot and MISSED on Suge Knight like better be in like Europe right now under an assumed ID cause …yeahh

    • Kiddo says:

“We’re told the shooter was arrested at the club. His identity has not been revealed but police are focusing on a motive of gang rivalry because of Knight’s affiliation with the Bloods.”

      Supposedly captured, QQ.

    • Ag says:

yeah, come on, you guys! no shooting. just beating.

      super shady sh*t all around.

    • Bridget says:

So is that how Suge was even at that party? Because I thought he was pretty much persona non-grata within the music industry after all the shady stuff he pulled over the years.

      • delorb says:

I’m wondering why he was there because, as Chris Rock says, you don’t want to be the oldest person at the club. He’ll be 50 next year.

    • Gina says:

Reminds me when Sollozzo shot the Godfather with six bullets and said that’s good luck for him and bad luck for me….awesome that people can sneak into clubs with weapons…makes me want to go to Cali soon to party….well maybe not.

      • Bob Loblaw says:

I’ve been in hundreds of clubs in California, maybe thousands, and not once did I encounter gun violence.

    • gooner says:

      @ QQ
wondering whycome no one lets us have the Funs

Honest to God spit-take on an otherwise dull Monday. Thank you 🙂

    • kpoodle says:

Yep. That was my first thought. There will be at least one retaliation shooting.

  3. TheOriginalKitten says:

Um, aiming for Chris Brown? NO.

You know about the rumors that connected Suge to the murders of Tupac and Biggie right?

He is a very, very dangerous man with a lengthy record. This is not surprising in the least and I assume that he is a target for many people.

    • Kiddo says:

Yeah, I heard of that association too.

    • don't kill me i'm french says:

      +267

    • Ag says:

didn’t he also dangle someone off a balcony by the ankles? allegedly?

      • Macey says:

the rumor was it was Vanilla Ice. supposedly he was forcing him to sign over rights to something. I dont remember the details but I remember it had something to do with VI. I always wondered what the real story was behind all the Tupac rumors.

I never knew the real scoop with this guy but how he manages to survive all these gun shots baffles me.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

That’s probably the nicest thing this guy’s ever done.

      • V4Real says:

Yes it was Vanilla Ice. and not just a rumor. Ice confirmed it to be true.

BTW Kaiser Chris was shown in the audience. It was around the beginning of the show.

      • LeahMommy says:

He dangled Vanilla Ice over a balcony over some contract stuff or something.

      • Bridget says:

Vanilla Ice had to sign one his royalties to Ice Ice Baby. And that right there is the hallmark of Suge Knight, record exec: he threatened, beat, and intimidated everyone into ridiculous contracts that paid him almost everything. If I remember correctly, Dr. Dre had to walk away from everything in the Death Row vault (including his masters and the NWA masters) to get away from Suge.

    • K says:

Wow, I had no idea he was that shady!

    • doofus says:

I had also heard that he threatened Dre to get the masters of Dre’s recordings from Death Row.

I believe the story from Dre was that he gave them up because “it was that or get shot”.

the man is a gangster in every way. I have to say, frankly, that I’m surprised he’s not shot (at) more often.

(NOTE: I am NOT hoping for this to happen)

one of these days, he is going to meet his end in the same way that Omar from The Wire did. at the hands of some young kid, and totally unexpectedly.

      • Bridget says:

Dre had to walk away from everything he’d ever done with Death Row in order to leave that label. That’show bad he wanted out, and that’s how awful Suge is.

      • DTX says:

He also tried to do something similar (blackmailing her about a sex tape or something) to Jennifer Lopez. I believe she responded quickly and litigiously & shut his ass down. I may not have always liked her but I have respected her since.

I know it’s wrong, but when I read the headline my first thought was “but is he dead yet?” That’s horrible but he is a violent vicious man who bullies everyone around him.

    • G. says:

There were also rumors that Tupac was going to walk away from Suge and his label right before he got killed. Suge is, by all accounts, not a nice man.
It pains me that the greats of the 90s, with all their talent, died, while this ahole got to live.

    • Anna says:

@TOK if people assumed the shooter was aiming for Chris Brown after hearing that Suge Knight was there then they really know nothing about Hip Hop/Rap and should probably just not assume things like that next time. Suge is such a sketchy character I always believed he was behind Tupac’s death and had a hand in Biggie’s. I’ve heard he’s a horrible person (it’s been pretty well documented in the past) so I’m surprised people still want to be associated with him, unless they’re scared of him.
Chris Brown was probably the least threatening man there and the safest to be around which is saying a lot.

    • Caz says:

Vanilla Ice is still angry Knight pressured him into signing over Ice Ice Baby for such a small amount of money 🙂

  4. Kiddo says:

I was wondering when you were going to cover this. Unbelievable. Suge handled 6 bullets like a Sherman Tank. I hope the person in critical condition makes it. Organized crime/gang activity sucks the life out of communities, both literally and figuratively.

    • mimif says:

This is a horrible horrible thing to write, but my initial reaction was wtf dude, die already. Suge is despicable, even more so than me wanting him to die.

      • Kiddo says:

Well the thing about his death is that there will likely be collateral damage (if history is any indicator). Why are celebrities still hanging with him?

      • mimif says:

Yeah you are totally right on every level and I hate myself for stooping to that mentality, but it was my honest reaction. And I have no idea why celebrities do any of the stupid shit they do. Isn’t that why we are all here? 😉

      • DTX says:

        @mimif

I guess we’re going to hell together because I thought the same thing as you! I loathe bullies & have a deep desire for justice & balance (it’s the libra in me!) so I won’t shed a tear when he finally goes to St. Peter.

  5. Lis says:

Gun violence in the USA? No way, you’ve got to be kidding …

    • Ag says:

seriously. but when it happens to celebrities, it’s serious.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

I think it’s a compelling story only because the dude is f*cking indestructible. I think he was wearing a vest….I would if I were him.

      • mimif says:

No shit. Gut wounds are soooo painful too. Ugh stupid ass Suge, take your bp vest and go away.

      • lucy2 says:

A vest would make sense. Because otherwise, unless it was a BB gun, how do you survive 5 shots in the gut?

      • The Other Katherine says:

This ^^. No way did the guy walk away from 5 center-of-mass shots otherwise.

  6. kri says:

Why is anyone even working/associating w/ Chris Brown? FFS, he is total poison. Ten to one Suge wears Kevlar. I’m not kidding. I know I would if I was him.

    • Clever hand says:

You’d be surprised at the size of breezys following. Many, many women still actively support him and I have heard people say that rih “must have done something to prove him because he’s not like that”. It’s sad and sick.

But if you look at r and b music, r Kelly still does well and he has done much worse to women than breezy.

      • Clever hand says:

        “Provoke him” hate autocorrect.

      • Ag says:

i was at the airport in the spring of 2012, and that piece of trash was there with his entourage, also waiting for a flight, pretty close to us. women were going INSANE over him. he went to the airport mcdonald’s, which was super close to where i was waiting, and almost caused a damn riot with all the girls wanting to take pics with him, talk to him, etc. this was at the height of his rhianna beating scandal, if i’m no mistaken, and people acted like they didn’t give a crap. it was gross and disheartening.

    • megs283 says:

that was my first thought when I read how many times he was shot in the stomach.

    • Bob Loblaw says:

I think he had to have been wearing a vest, no one can survive five shots in the gut.

  7. Bridget says:

Suge Knight, Avril Lavigne, Derek Hough, amd Mark Ballad… what a random guest list. Apparently Breezy can’t pull in the big names.

Anyone that invites Suge Knight to their event deserves whatever happened. That man is just the worst.

    • Pandy says:

i kept wonder why Lindsay Lohan wasn’t there. Seriously though, not that I ever liked his looks, but Chris Brown is not ageing well. Ugh.

  8. GiGi says:

The man is GD cockroach… take that how you will.

  9. Jojoann says:

Can you even begin to imagine how many people Suge has had either killed or maimed to be able to inspire this kind of murderous rage in others? No way this guy hasnt taken a life with his own hands. It chills me to the bone. Please lets not mythologize this sociopath. He isnt immortal or gangsta, he is just a power crazed murderous talentless leech-producer.

And I still think he was behind Tupacs murder!

    • LeahMommy says:

When I heard this story yesterday, I thought it was crazy how people are constantly trying to murder Suge. Makes you wonder why.

    • mimif says:

Good point, Jojoann. He’s just a lucky bastard and hell yeah he was behind Tupac’s murder. Sigh. I miss Tupac still so much…

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

        …and possibly Biggie’s.

The theory is that Suge conspired (along with a Death Row employee and LAPD officers who assisted in the cover-up) to take Biggie out to draw attention away from his involvement in the Tupac murder. That actually formed the basis for the Wallace family’s $500M lawsuit against the city of LA that was later dismissed.

This man is ruthless and what better way to rewrite the narrative than by sacrificing Biggie and making his death seem like a revenge killing for Tupac? It’s a great way to remove himself from any suspicion, even if the theory didn’t ultimately hold enough weight in court.

      • mimif says:

Word to everything you just wrote. Damn Kitten, you know the facts. *fist bump*

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

I was (and still am) a hardcore Biggie fan and I closely followed every theory that came out in the wake of his death.

Whenever I listen to him and Tupac (although I’m more of a Biggie girl) I wonder what kind of music they’d be making if they were still alive today.

Although neither were saints by any stretch of the imagination, they were both so immensely talented. Sigh.

    • JenniferJustice says:

I agree, and yet, the Feds don’t get involved. Don’t tell me if they launched an investigation, they wouldn’t find enough dirt on this POS to put him away. I don’t get it. Do they stay away because they have bigger fish to fry, are they scared to get involved, are they on the sly and we just don’t know it? I need answers!

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

Oh totally and that’s exactly why it’s all so fascinating. The reach that this man has…the power…it’s astounding.

  10. don't kill me i'm french says:

Cris Brown is nothing next to Suge Knight’s legal past http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suge_Knight
    This guy is a gangster
His relationship with LAPD is the source of the tv show The Shield and he probably is involved in Tupac’s murder( Tupac wanted to drop Knight and sue him because he didn’t pay his royalties)

  11. LAK says:

These 3 times he’s been shot publicly are probably the tip of the gang iceberg.

Now I think of it, how did Dre rehabilitate himself/image considering he was so closely associated with Knight?

Immortal, deals with the devil!!! Knight will out live everyone except possibly Keith Richards, Courtney Love and Lilo.

  12. LeahMommy says:

Suge just refused to die. I don’t know why they keep inviting him/letting him into events because violence follow/people die wherever he goes.
Oh there’s a video showing Chris not even shielding himself, standing on a table when the bullets where flying, it’s like he was hoping to get shot so he could get street cred which I wouldn’t put past him considering how desperate he is to be known as a blood.

  13. Rusty machine says:

The man has layers upon layers upon layers to absorb gunshot wounds. He should be able to walk out and calmly tell police he had been shot.

    • Clever hand says:

Yes and don’t forget Tupac who was so so skinny was also shot at least six times in the stomach and survived it. This was what supposedly really fueled the fire between him and Biggie.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

Nothing beats Celtics player Paul Pierce being stabbed ELEVEN times and surviving it though.

  14. qtip says:

How about we NOT invite Suge Knight to any event ever. He gets shot at damn near everywhere he goes.

  15. Renee28 says:

There’s no way in hell I’d stand anywhere near someone who has been repeatedly shot at.

  16. Nicolette says:

“It’s disappointing that we as a society can’t have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bulls–t!!!”

Is he serious? I’m sure Rihanna would have loved to have fun and enjoy herself without him beating the crap out of her.

  17. Gina says:

All weekend blogs were posting the shots were for CB. Thought it was kind of amusing they’d miss him and hit someone else six times…the obvious intended victim got shot. He must be wearing a vest. These guys live for violence and haven’t learned from the past. Once you’re dead, you’re gone forever, this isn’t a movie…stop trying to glamorize violence…i.e. Tupac. Always tragic endings for these guys…..btw Michael, the camera went to Chris several times in the audience with his new white over blonde…trying to be wavy hair and shades…trying to go incognito CB, never.

  18. bokchoi says:

what a giant collection of a-holes. and how exactly did someone with a gun get into a “private” party?

  19. YvetteW says:

How do you get shot 6 times…again? How do he get shot/shot at so many times? Are these cheap bullets? Bad aim? Super duper medical care? WTH is going on?

    • Sozual says:

      Super duper medical care…..LOL!

    • DrMrsTheMonarch says:

Low calibre weapon, being a poor shot, being hit in the extremities, wearing a vest when shot, low power ammunition, pure dumb luck. Any or all could contribute to surviving a shooting.

  20. Trashaddict says:

I can’t get my head around some of the nasty s*&^ people do to each other. People like this just drag the world down with them. He’s obviously a strong guy, obviously intelligent to survive in the way that he has. Somebody like that could probably do amazing positive things if he put his mind to it. It’s too bad what he’s done with his life. I just hope the collateral damage is limited.
