I think Gwen Stefani was the only person who did the VMAs and the Emmys this year. Oh, wait. No she wasn’t. Adam Levine was there too. Anyway, can I just say? Her VMAs look was so much better. At the Emmys, Gwen wore this Versace which I guess was inspired by what Donatella Versace would wear, something like that. As such, Gwen was styled a bit like Donatella – white-blonde hair, straight, hanging in her face. With lots of Botox. The state of Gwen’s face seemed worse at the Emmys than at the VMAs, I think. Which is depressing. As for the gown… eh. I dislike it, but on the E! Red Carpet show, it actually looked better in motion. It’s a rock n’ roll look, not really a stuffy TV awards show look. The Versace would have been completely at home at the Grammys.
Gwen also had a John Travolta/Adele Dazeem moment when she was announcing Stephen Colbert as the winner. She pronounced Colbert’s name like “Colbort”. Or #surfbort, if you will. Jimmy Fallon tried to jack Colbert’s Emmy because Gwen mispronounced it. #Colbort.
And here’s Kate Mara looking like a grumpy gremlin for some reason. Why are these Mara girls always so dark, moody and affected? Mara wore this absolutely tragic J. Mendel gown that doesn’t know what it’s doing. Look at how many style gimmicks were attempted and abandoned half-way through. Mara’s stylist might hate her. At least her hair looked cute.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed it. Her face looks filled up but not in a good way. Paltrow’s bland face should never be a face inspiration. Lol.

I don’t recognize her either. I think a lot of it is the makeup, as this is far from her regular look, but obviously some other stuff has been going on, too.
I missed the intro and didn’t even know it was her. I was sitting there trying to figure out who it was. I thought maybe it was Gwen Stefani but I wasn’t sure. She doesn’t look bad she just looks different.
I saw a different pic of Gwen from last night and she was virtually unrecognizable. She needs to stop with the injections…it’s making me sad.

I like it a lot, but her hair looks awful. I think the dress is a nice change from strapless/princess, etc.. It’s mod and clean.

One of my favourite parts of the whole evening was after Gwen messed up Colbert’s name and Fallon did the acceptance speech and ended up swearing (which didn’t get bleeped out).
Gwen looks pretty…scary. I always liked Mara, she was supposed to be a thing. What happened with her? Grumpy Gremlin indeed.

Kate’s dress looks like it got attacked and shredded by a small dog when no one was looking and there wasn’t time to find a replacement. Said the stylist, “With some tape and a few paper clips you’ll look edgy and avant-garde… please don’t fire me.”
I don’t think they want to be a “thing”. They act, are involved in charities and both have several projects in production.

She looks like she has been exposed to radiation. Her hair looks like it would glow in the dark. Way too harsh. Put that with the aluminum foil dress and it is a bit much. There is a shot of her on other sites and I wondered who it was. I guess they don’t rehearse before hand. Everyone knows the “Ts” are silent in Colbert Report.

I actually like Gwen’s dress. Her VMA look was much worse. And I like Mara’s dress too. Neither are perfect but they look interesting and have beautiful materials.

@QQ, I think we may have gone to the same school of Barbie fashion design. It’s not a real dress until you have to cut it off the doll. My Barbies could have had so many ugly orange outfits, had anyone taught me pattern making. 😉

I have an irrational hatred for the Mara girls. They from a super rich family, yet they act they’re struggling artists.

I’m actually getting a Cher vibe, and not in a good way. It’s a total “I’ve messed with my face beyond recognition” way. But it’s no surprise. She’s always been open about how vain she is. But she’s six months away from being just another weird, overly processed, no longer beautiful from all of the work, aging Hollywood woman.

I had to do a double take to ensure that was really her. It looks like she has a lot of botox and lot of tweaking going on —here and there. It’s very noticeable because she has such a severe look: platinum hair, red lips, really while, pale skin. It looks very artificial more so then usual.
