Colorful “American Idol” contestant Sanjaya’s mom, Jillian Blyth, was busted for running a large scale marijuana operation in the state of Washington in Februay, 2005. Sanjaya’s sister, Shyamali, was found by cops watching over the 300 plus plants growing in family garage. Shyamali, who now works at Hooter’s, was charged with pot possession as she had a bag of herb and a bunch of bongs. She told the cops where to find her mom, who was at yet another growing location with her husband, Sanjaya’s stepdad.

Sanjaya’s mom Jillian was given 30 days in prison for growing all that marijuana, and she only served 21 days mostly at a drug treatment program. While she might not be running another pot-harvesting business it doesn’t seem the drug treatment was all that effective. She still enjoys the stuff recreationally, and was photographed at a Hollywood party this March taking a hit off a bong.

As part of Blyth’s parole she was required to stay drug free for 12 months, and although that time period has passed it’s still not going to work in her favor that this picture got out.

The person who leaked it to the Enquirer said that she got high with the stoners at the party and started blabbing about her son, saying that he’s “great” and that he’s not gay:

Blyth stunned guests when she strolled into a West Hollywood party in late March.

“Jill arrived at the party and introduced herself as Sanjaya’s mom,” said an eyewitness.

“She was by far the offest person at the party, and we were all like: “What’s Sanjaya’s mom doing here?”

“She quickly spotted the stoners in the group and slipped off to the back room to get high with them. She lit up the bong and started smoking it like it was the most natural thing in the world.

“By the end of the night, she was high as a kite. She was talking about Sanjaya, who was still on ‘Idol’ at the time. She said: ‘My son is great. Don’t beelive the rumors about him being gay either because he isn’t.'”

The article goes on to say that Blyth isn’t violating her parole by smoking up, but that if she’s busted again for any reason this photo will surely haunt her.
