Warren Beatty offers Lindsay Lohan movie role, but she has to live with him

lindsay lohan sam ronson 2 250209

Lindsay Lohan was talking the other day about how she’s lost all that weight because she’s been under a lot of stress. And then when she was asked about what’s so stressful in her life, she said she’s been going to a lot of meetings for possible movie parts. We all laughed and rolled our eyes, but it turns out Lindsay may not have been bluffing – at least about the possible jobs.

Warren Beatty is considering putting her in one of his films – but there’s a major caveat. She has to agree to live in his home or guest house during filming so he can keep an eye on her.

What does Warren Beatty have in mind for Lindsay Lohan? He has something, because Beatty is apparently dangling a new movie role in front of the irrepressible Lindsay. But it has some strings attached to it. What I’m told is that Warren, the smartest guy in Hollywood, bar none, wants Ms. Lohan to come live under his roof — at least one of his guest roofs — while he shoots this movie.

And wait, you’re wondering, what movie is this? Beatty is said to have a script he wants to direct and star in, with La Lohan possibly playing his daughter. (If it’s his love interest, well, I’m not going there and I’m sure Warren isn’t either.)

Lindsay is said to know this is a chance of a lifetime and a way to re-start her languishing career. Recent efforts, like that horrid John Lennon murder movie Chapter 27, haven’t left her in the greatest shape. On the plus side, she’s clean, sober, happy and looking great.

But Lohan is a gifted actress with a lot of baggage and reputation for not making it to the set always on time and in one piece. So Beatty’s proviso sounds like a smart idea. And how bad it can be [sic] to live up on Mulholland Drive under the aegis of Annette Bening? I can hear a lot of young actresses heading to the phone now to try and get that gig.

Lindsay, pack your bags!

[From Fox News]

Obviously, the article was wrong on the whole, “she’s clean, sober, happy and looking great” bit. I guess we can’t know for sure about the clean/sober/happy part, but in terms of looking great, most people don’t think unhealthy weight loss and looking scary skinny is “great.”

Considering Lindsay doesn’t own a home and hops from rental to rental, living with Warren Beatty might even be a good financial move. I could see how it would be a little embarrassing to acquiesce to this demand when you’re a legal adult, but getting a decent role is essential for Lohan right now. As Fox pointed out, it’s been a long time since she’s been in anything good, and it’s long been rumored that she has money problems. She certainly has a shopping problem. And frankly, it would be good for Lohan to have some sort of parental figure looking out for her, even if it is a little late in life. Being in a Warren Beatty film can only be good for her, and it sounds like a fair enough deal to me.

Here’s Lindsay – not “looking great” – leaving the Genghis Cohen Restaurant in West Hollywood with Samantha Ronson last night. Images thanks to WENN.com.

    Do it LiLo.

This is probably your last chance. Even with residuals coming in from your HeyDay this can only help.

  2. Dan says:

Whatever.. Give another young actress with her shit together a chance.

  3. cmoody says:

I’m not sure I see Warren Beatty as a “Parental figure”. I mean this is Warren Beatty we are talking about.

But I guess if Warren could live down his own past and continue to flourish in Hollywood, then maybe he can show her how.

Too bad the girl doesn’t have a decent parental figure within her own family. But it is good that SOMEONE out there doesn’t want to see her condemned to a life of a washed up druggie before she’s even 30.

  4. Orangejulius says:

Can you imagine taking this on? What a headache…the Sam drama…the fighting and screaming…Nice of him to be willing to do this, but rather him than me.

  5. If that’s all that it takes, then I’ve got a movie role for Lindsay myself. Same stipulations. And she can’t bring her boyfriend.

  6. tigerlille says:

Do it, baby girl! I am so excited for you. This is your big chance to spit in the eye of everyone that wrote you off. Remember what Meryl Streep said – you have “A remarkable Talent.”

Of course there is always the chance that Fox News and the gossip blogs have got this completely wrong, as is their won’t.

  7. tigerlille says:

    Or would that be “wont”?

  8. OXA says:

Warren must be in the early stages of dementia if she is the only youngtalented actress he could come up with.

  9. kiki says:

Warren wants to sex her up once a womanizer always a womanizer. Sean Young may be crazy but I beleive her when she says she was fired from Dick Tracy cause she would not sleep with Beatty

  10. Lindsay says:

Tigerlile – it should be wont. When did Meryl Streep say that?

  11. Michelle B. says:

Remarkable talent? I haven’t seen it. Can’t act, can’t sing, confused about her sexual orientation, coked up, mean-spirited, delusional, a liability on set. Please, please, please, Warren, let her 15 minutes of undeserved fame expire…

  12. Flour says:

Wow, what an offer. Betcha it’s not going to happen, tho. I can’t picture Linds accepting terms like that. And can you imagine Warren trying to wake her ass up for a 9am screencall? Lawl. It’s brilliant of him, tho, to offer it. Nice to see that someone cares about her.

  13. Bodhi says:

If its true, its pretty much her last f*cking chance & she’d better take it

  14. Mairead says:

*chokes on her Fanta and sprays it all over the computer* Warren Beatty is “the smartest man in Hollywood bar none” – f*uck sake lads, wouldn’t at least one of you pass on that memo?

Anyway – for the sake of all of our patience LiLo should take the offer. If Annette Benning can put manners on Warren Beatty, she’ll put a stop to Lohan’s gallop pretty sharpish too!

  15. tigerlille says:

Lindsay starred in Prairie Home Companion as Meryl Streep’s daughter. She gave an excellent performance, and was specifically asked for by Keiller Garrison. When asked to comment on Lindsay’s acting ability by the ever salivating celebrity press, Ms. Streep described Lindsay as “A remarkable talent. The real deal.” How many Hollywood actors and actresses have those sorts of kudos to their credit?

And so, Michelle B., I am afraid that the mean spirited person is you.

I continually read statements on this blog to the effect that Lindsay is a no talent has been. Not true. She has some wonderful films to her credit, and she should have a distinguished career if she isn’t destroyed by gossip and her own inner demons.

  16. Lem says:

I know it says fox news but it has a ring of Ted Cassablanca, whom I believe is know for getting things very wrong
-well the first 2 paragraphs seem to have his rhythm – but I could be in left field, who knows

I think she has/had potential, but not even (insert great talent here) could produce good work in the state she seems to be in.

  17. tigerlille says:

Part of Lindsay’s problem is that she has been surrounded by trashy people all her life. Prarie Home Companion was a small movie, and after shooting for the day, the cast hung out together like family. I believe that it was an eye openening experience for Lindsay. Warren is offering the same supportive setting for making another excellent film…IF FOX News didn’t pull this story our of their ass.

  18. kiki says:

Lindsay roles have been Teen stuff. yes she has a winning charmiing personality in Parent trap amd Mean Girls I saw parie Home compainion and lindsay role was that of a bored l girl, not much of a ‘acting’ strech for her and Meryl never says anything BAD about anyone not like Jane Fonda who called out Lindsay bad work ethic in what was yer another bored girl role for Lindsay in Georgia, not much of a strech there either. Lindsay seems to Hate Scartlett J. with a passion and I think its professional jealousy Scarlett had borken out of the “teen’ girl roles that Lindsay is still doing. Scarlett has done Lost in Translation Worked with Woody Allen she does not do the teen roles that Lindsay desperatly wants to leave behind. Scarlett, Jessica Biel are Lindsay peers and are always working, they show up for work on time you dont see them falling out nightclubs drunk 4 days out of the week they have not been in rehab nor show the world their private parts not been caught been just an selfcenered ahole to those around them. If Lindsay is where she is at, its because she puts herself there Talent or NO talent no movie production compamy is going to waste their money and time on someone who cares more for personal drama and partying than showing up for work and doing their job. the bottom line is $$$ for them. There are plenty of other good actress out there for the work.

  19. I thought she got chewed out on the set of PHC because of her erratic behavior and lack of impulse control? Or was it a different project around the same time? I’m not hip to LaLohan jive . . . (though I did avoid seeing the movie because I didn’t want to associate Lohan with one of my favorite radio programs. . . ever!)

She’d be smart to take the offer, but if her brains are as sharp as her acting chops . . .

  20. Joolzz says:

maybe Beatty is going to do what Samuel L Jackson did to Cristina Ricci, chain her to the house !!!

  21. tigerlille says:

JaundiceMac, you didn’t go see the movie Prarie Home Companion, that was cast as well as directed and starred in by Garrison Keiller, who based the movie on HIS radio show, and which is allegedly your favorite radio show, because you didn’t want to associate the show with Lindsay Lohan? Your prejudice and stupidity are monumental. You need to learn some inedependant thinking skills, or do you want the decisions you make for the rest of your life to be determined by gossip and morons? I am sorry to be so harsh, but it is obvious that you think you are very cool with your snide out downs, when you are really petty and small minded, and managed to miss out on an absolutely delightful little movie. It’s not too late, rent it!

  22. tigerlille says:

Oops, put downs, sorry for inverting Garrison Keiller’s name too, I have Influenza A.

  23. boomchakaboom says:

tigerlillie: you must be kin to LiLo or something. People state their opinions and make snide remarks. If you don’t agree with them, fine. It’s not your place to chastise other posters for their opinions. It’s boring and you’re not going to change anybody’s mind.

  24. boomchakaboom says:

LiLo is not a huge talent at all. She was a cute kid and showed potential, like ALL KIDS DO. But that’s it.

  25. lrm says:

i don’t know;i don’t despise her,nor do I love her-but,the couple of movies i’ve seen her in [and i’m more of a film person, rather than movies or blockbusters…my 8 yr old has different needs],I have really enjoyed. I thought she was fine-in fact, even a ‘good actress’. Herbie and Freak Friday-she and jamie lee curtis were both fun/great. For what they were worth,of course-meaning the scripts to those films not exactly being world class cinema,LL pulled it off. I think she is good enough for the big screen. And I think she is very attractive/sometimes beautiful, when healthy. Just my opinion.

  26. CB Rawks says:

This is like charity work from Warren. It’s not exactly going to help his reputation when she *epic fail*s, and there’s got to be a huge list of more dependable actors he could choose. So he must be doing god a solid or something, to get into heaven. 😉

  27. tigerlille says:

Here are some observations made about Lindsay Lohan by people who actually know what they are talking about, from the time when Prairie Home Companion (my mistake, written for Robert Altman by Garrison Keillor, who wanted Lindsay for the role of Streep’s daughter) and Georgia’s Rules, when Lindsay was 19 – 20.

Robert Altman: “She was very respectful of all the people she worked with. It’s the press that makes news of all that other stuff. But I think she’s great and I’d work with her again. She’s a great talent with a really sexy voice.”

Meryl Streep: Lindsay knew her lines better than we did. …I’m aware of the tabloid stuff because my kids tell me – but I don’t read it, and frankly, I couldn’t care less. When they say ‘Action’, Lindsay is completely, visibly living in front of the camera, and that’s all anyone really cares about. … She’s in command of the art form. Whatever acting is – I don’t know what it is – she’s in command of it. I think she could do anything she puts her mind to.”

Garrison Keillor: “She is a serious actress, she’s been very well schooled. I know nothing about what she does late at night. Not my business, nor am I curious. She goes to really loud places, I guess. I hate loud places.”

Jane Fonda: “I just want to take her in my arms and hold her until she’s grown up. She’s so young, so young and she’s so alone out there in the world in terms of structure and people to nurture her. And she just makes me want to cry. She made me cry a lot and when she was on the set she was really good, it’s going to be a good movie.”

“She breaks my heart in the movie. She is so brilliant in this movie. The girl is really talented. And she just – I loved working with her. I love her. …”

Notice the contempt with which these people uniformly refer to the celebrity press.

And yeah, Lindsay has lost her way, in a mess of drugs, promiscuity, dysfunctional relationships, and excessive shopping. Granted. So have a lot of people, not all of them brilliant and talented. Will she find her way back? There’s a good chance she will, and it will be a tragedy if she doesn’t.

But God spare me from reading the endless incoherent, ungrammatical, vile, half-witted regurgitation’s of the gossip blogs dismissal of an extraordinary actress as a no talent has been. A has been whose exploits and alleged exploits not-so-incidentally pays for an awful lot of their bread and butter.

And no, if Warren Beatty actually made this offer, he is not doing charity work. He wants a good actress for a demanding part, pure and simple.

And no, I am not kin to Lindsay. I’m just a mother who is outraged by the spectacle of something precious being ravaged by a pack of jackals.

  28. CB Rawks says:

    Don’t read it.

And don’t leave any fancy clothes in Lindsay’s vicinity, because she’ll steal them.

  29. Amy says:

    give the girl a chance

  30. boomchakaboom says:

    scroll,scroll,scroll.

  31. Michelle B. says:

Tigerlillie, relax. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. I base my ill opinion of Ms. Lohan on the all-too-frequent reports of her stupid behavior, underaged partying, drunk driving, crotch-flashing, and peer bashing. She’s a train wreck who makes a regular spectacle of herself. You go ahead and keep thinking she’s the neatest thing since sliced bread. Your adulation for her doesn’t bother me a bit. It merely makes me laugh.

  32. mojoman says:

    @tigerlille, is that you Dina??

  33. You know, I was going to contemplate the psychology of someone who makes unprovoked personal attacks on others for sharing their opinions on a celebrity gossip forum – until I remembered the celebrity in question is Lindsey Lohan. So, enough said, really.

I am surprised, though, that you purport to be a mother. I expected such a juvenile/bullish response in defense of a person that doesn’t know you exist to be from a tween in middle school. But you are a grown woman with children of your own. You should be so proud.

  34. boomchakaboom says:

    I think it’s Dina.

  35. boomchakaboom says:

Maybe tigerlillie is a publicist. Who else, besides Dina or a publicist, would keep QUOTES about LiLo’s alleged talent from various real talents at their fingertips?

  36. raven says:

Thanks for the quotes Tigerlille. I’d believe major performers who have actually worked with her over tabloid writers looking for a fast buck, but some are easily led these days.

I watched her in the kid movies she did for Disney and thought she lit up the screen in those. It’s too bad about her parents and the way she was raised. Unfortunately, she’ll have to get past it. I hope she takes Beatty’s offer.

  37. miley says:

i hope she gets her career back on track

    love her<3

  38. tigerlille says:

Honey, don’t you understand that it is you who are juvenile? You actually didn’t go see a film based on your favorite radio show because Lindsay Lohan was in it, and the celebrity press has told you that she isn’t “in.” I was making an admittedly lame attempt to teach you some grown up thinking skills. I thought that if you knew that the film was written by the author and director of your favorite radio show, and that if you knew that this gentleman wanted Lindsay to be cast for the part she played, and that he respects her work as an actress, that you might actually rethink some of your prejudices. But apparently none of my attempts registered.

I don’t know Lindsay Lohan on a personal level from adam, and it makes no difference to me. Nor to I idolize her. But I recognize genuine talent when I see it, and it saddens me to see it ignored because it is too much fun reviling the individual with talent for her troubled behavior and acting out.
