Beyonce turned 33 years old yesterday. Cough. Yep, 33. So much of Beyonce’s life is full of conspiracy theories, some of which she even plays up publicly (like the Illuminati stuff), but the Beyonce age-gate conspiracy was one of the earliest. The thing is, I don’t think she was lying about her age in the beginning. I think at some point in her Destiny’s Child years, she decided to shave off two or three years. But… whatever, I guess. She was born on September 4th, we just don’t know which year. Happy b-day, Bey.
Anyway, I’m including some assorted photos from Beyonce’s Tumblr and Instagram, plus a few pics of Bey and Jay looking loved up at the Made In America festival several days ago. Bey posted a photo from the festival on her IG – SHE is the one who cut out half of Jay’s face, not me. Just FYI. Most Hive-friendly sites claimed that their joint appearance at the festival means that all is well in their marriage. I don’t know, y’all. Maybe they’re master stunt queens or maybe… they’re just trying to work out their drama and it’s more complicated than a simple breakup/makeup situation. Jay does seem to be trying – apparently, he chartered a private jet to take his family away to Corsica for Bey’s b-day.
Happy birthday to the one, the only, Beyoncé! The self-proclaimed diva turns 33 this year and in keeping with tradition, she traveled overseas to enjoy some quality down time with her family.
Jay Z, Blue Ivy and Yoncé were all spotted arriving on a private jet at Bastia-Poretta airport in Corsica, where they’re expected to enjoy a peaceful vacation in the South of France. According to a source, Jay tipped their hostess on the private jet a hefty sum of €500, and when she returned to provide him with change, the rapper laughed and refused to accept. How nice!
E! News has also learned that the Carters have chartered a luxury yacht that rents for around $800,000 per week. And while there have been rumors that the music power couple have hit a rough patch in their marriage, an insider explains that the two are moving forward as a united front.
“They’ve had their problems, but they’re still solid. Going away for Beyoncé’s birthday in September is a tradition they have. It’s a chance to get some quality time together and relax far from worries about their crazy work schedules.”
That’s nice. I’ll give them credit for really going all out for their vacations. I also like that they go to new places too, it’s not like they check into the same resort year after year. Their relaxation will last for a week or two, then it’s back to work for their shows in Paris, which are being filmed for an HBO special. And after that… we’ll see if their marriage holds up once the business side is done.
Bey posted this vintage photo of herself. I guess we’re supposed to think vintage Bey looks like Blue Ivy, but I honestly think this photo looks Photoshopped!! That b-day hat. Huh.

She is 33 because she’s been in this business since the age of 16 (1997). What is with this age conspiracy when it comes to Beyonce? No one questions Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera or Justin Timberlake. They all were on talent competition show back in the early 1990’s called Star Search. They all have had their early life documented on video and Beyonce is the only one who gets the age conspiracies

I totally agree with you. There is proof and documentation about Beyonce’s age. I have seen many “behind the scenes” videos where they interview her former teachers, etc. She is not lying about her age. Without make-up she looks like she’s 18.

Really? I don’t really know what to believe. I know when destinys child came on the scene when I was in highschool, she was the same age as me back then and she’s supposedly the same age as me now. I can see how everyone thinks she looks older but it seems to me her claimed age has always been consistent with mine. Just my experience.
As far as I know she has always been a year younger than I am (34).
Can’t believe I’m defending her but Kelly is also 33, and I think Michelle is 34 or so. All the DC girls grew up together/are around the same age.
My husband is from Houston and his friends went to high school with her. She’s in the 33/34 age range.

Why do people think she is lying about her age? She does look older than 33 but some people looks older or younger than they actually are. Like I was watching Divergent and I was surprised to see Kate Winslet in only in her late 30s. I could’ve sworn she looks like in her mid to late 40s in that movie.
It’s always women who look older and are ‘evil’ because they’re ‘lying’ about it. It has to be mentioned every time despite there being no real proof.
Beyoncé’s life is documented in every area (even pre-fame). Teachers have spoken about her and the money anybody would get by revealing this would be enormous yet no such thing. If it would be true, it would’ve come out by now (see Agyness Deyn and Jessica Chastain). I remember MediaTakeOut trying to fake her birth certificate because they couldn’t find evidence and people still using it to this day 😀
Or Gabrielle Union claiming she went to school with Beyoncé to make herself look YOUNGER and it backfired because people took it as she is as ‘old’ as GU. Smh.
Meanwhile we have men like Michael Fassbender being praised to the gods and he’s like a walking boozy ashtray with wrinkles that could rival a Shar-Pei’s yet no ‘age-gate’. Bye Felicia.

I can critique Beyoncé too when it’s necessary so I do have some perspective unlike the Beyhive LOL. It’s just that I’ve been long enough on CB (lurking for a long time too) to know what kind of arguments they will come up with. At least I wasted my time researching Beyoncé not spreading half truths from gossip blogs 🙂

Artemis, I’m the same. I know alot about Beyonce and there are definitely things she can be criticized for.. I don’t agree with some of the decisions she makes. I really like her though. I admire her work effort and the fact that sticks close to her family and doesnt get involved in so much drama. She also puts on a great show! But there are alot of people that slam her for the smallest of things or make stuff up because they simply don’t like her.

Read my post again ‘yet no age-gate’ I said. There’s also no posting of fake birth certificates like in Beyoncé posts but nice try anyway. The fact that he looks older is no reason to criticise him or find out his ‘real age’ yet with women it is. There is a huge difference.

I like that first pic. There are times when Beyonce just glows. It’s not anytime she smiles, but certain pictures and makeup, captured with a perfect light and she looks beautiful.

Her age has been consistent ever since she was in her teens, because she is my age and I remember (and also the same age as Britney Spears). And honestly, why does it matter what age she is anyway? I am 33 and can’t imagine being able to put on a performance like she does. I am so old and out of shape!

She is 33 years old. She & the original destiny’s child members are the same age. They were all born in 1981, she’s been performing since she was 9 and there are videos of her life since she was 9. She didn’t just pop up in the industry at 20 claiming to be 16. She’s been singing professionally for 17 years now that’s when their first single dropped so because she’s been here for such a long time it’s a little hard to reconcile that with her age. If she shaved 3/4 years off that means Kelly, Latavia & Letoya did also. She went to high school with countless people with yearbooks and stuff. If she was lying somebody would have talked. Her birth certificate is public property as well.
They go away every year on a yacht for her birthday. She’s always said that being in the middle of the ocean reminds her of how small she is in the grand scheme of things.
The pictures on the dailymail are so cute. Blue Ivy is just a ball of all round cuteness. I love it.
I never heard about the age conspiracy, but she easily looks like she’s 33 (actually I think she looks like she could even be younger). I think some of the other “conspiracies” make a lot more sense than this one, what makes me wonder about the degree of fantasy-stories about her anyway. You know when Lady Gaga is 28 and Paz de la Huerta 30, anything is possible.

It’s long been the French movie/TV personality “place to be” although the party circuit people tend to hit St. Tropez or the Emerald Coast in Sardinia etc since there are hardly any clubbing venues in an around the most popular towns ( Southern part). It’s also high-end tourism, expensive, and that eliminates the “cheap holiday, get wasted” youth crowd that often is what turns a “trendy” place into something undesirable. Half of the French media/music/political community have had homes there for a decade or two.
You do regularly run into non-french celebs or hear about them being there though. Jean DuJardin (ok, he’s French) was there summer 2013, Clooney and Co. the summer before, where he and his buddy Randy did a motorcycle tour around the island, Jean Paul Gaultier was in Bonifaccio a few years back, Bey and Jay this summer, P Diddy a few years ago. People like P Diddy and Jay Z have parties on their yachts though, rather than mixing with the little people.
I’m 1/4 Corsican and I’ve always wanted to go there! Maybe next year…
You might want to suggest to your 1/2 Corsican parent to look into whether he/she is involved in any “undivided” property where the family is from. It’s very very common there. Time is running out to get that sorted without having to pay inheritance taxes on it and if they can’t find the decendants of the last known family member, the other people in the indivision can establish a property title without your parent being on it. The local city hall has the cadastral records. Online, “cadastre.gouv.fr”.

I’ve never been a big fan of Beyonce (loved DC) but she is certainly NOT lying about her age. All of her personal information, passport, birth certificate , childhood video footage, Star Search footage, home movies can be seen everywhere online.
Then people still post the fake birth certificate that floated around a few years ago. Some people just want to stay ignorant.
Her real birth certificate was leaked during the Russian hacker scandal last year (that shows her birth year is 1981) along with Jay Z’s financial history.
Agree. Not a fan of hers but I have no problem believing she’s 33. If you asks me she looks younger. Without makeup, she could pass for 21 easy.
Not to mention the fake pregnancy rumors. People actually think that she took Prednisone to gain weight to fake a pregnancy, which is just… nonsense. If Bey had used a surrogate, it would have been to protect her precious figure, and she gained quite a bit of weight with Blue. Taking that drug has a LOT of potentially very harmful side effects and there’s no reason that someone would take it just to keep up a conspiracy, especially when so many women in Hollywood carry slender.
I’m still scratching my head over people comparing her to Kim K. Kim K. became famous for who she did. Beyonce became famous for what she did. There is a difference. I don’t think she’s lying about her age. She’s just been working for a long time. Oh, and black don’t crack! LOL

I am one of those who believed Beyonce faked her pregnancy, because I believe she is vein enough that she didn’t want to put her body through pregnancy. The video of her sitting down in that pink dress and her bump folds over is hilarious.

But, I believe she really is 33 and just hasn’t aged too well. The timeline of everything fits with that age, so I will give her a pass on that.
But she was walking around in a two piece bikini with a huge belly! That is a really good fake baby bump if she was just faking it. What I get from this whole bump collapse is that I think she wanted to show off the bump for “publicity stunt” right away but her belly wasn’t showing yet so she had to wear this collapsible bump to make her belly look bigger. It is hilarious but I don’t think she faked her pregnancy.
After going back on forth on my opinion of was she, wasn’t she, I now believe she was definitely pregnant and gave birth to Blue and that it went down like you said. She wasn’t showing very much at that time so decided to wear the fake bump for publicity knowing that everybody would be on ‘bump watch’
I think Katie Holmes did the same thing to disguise when she was actually due with Suri.

It almost looks like she is just bloated and I would buy that the pictures were strategically posed for and doctored just to make the rumors die down. Beyonce has such a carefully crafted and manufactured image, remember when her team was demanding those super bowl pictures be removed because they were unflattering? Almost every photo, tweet, press release and pap shot of Beyonce is carefully censored under her team.
