George Clooney & Amal Alamuddin arrive in Venice ahead of their wedding

FFN_Clooney_Alamuddin_SGP_092614_51540021

Here are some brand new photos of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin arriving in Venice just a short time ago. HER HAIR!! People, I have great hair (truly!) and Amal’s hair totally makes me jealous. She looks blow-out perfect every single time we see her. Anyway, as you can see… George and Amal want to be seen. They’re totally okay with their wedding being a spectacle. So here we go.

Just take this post as a preview of coming attractions. In all likelihood, George and Amal will be married in Venice tomorrow. This will be George’s second marriage and Amal’s first. Amal’s romantic history is a blank slate as far as gossip goes – we have no idea who any of her previous boyfriends are or anything like that. All we know about Amal is what George’s press people want us to know. She’s a brilliant and high-powered barrister. She’s George’s “equal.” She’s politically active.

As for the wedding plans… various outlets are all abuzz. Us Weekly has an exclusive photo of the interior of the Hotel Cipriani, which is the alleged locale of the post-wedding reception party, I guess? Amal arrived in Milan yesterday, and I guess she’s already in Venice. Amal’s family has been in Venice this week, taking care of some of the last-minute details.

Us Weekly says the game plan for the wedding events include: a big rehearsal dinner tonight at the Cipriani, then a lavish breakfast at the Cipriani as well. After breakfast, the wedding party will move to the Aman hotel for the wedding ceremony (they will have to use boats or gondolas), then they will stay at the Aman for the reception. The wedding feast will be a “five course banquet created by Italian chef Riccardo de Pra, famous for his pairing European and Asian cuisines.” Then the party will return to the Cipriani for “late-night drinks around the pool, and fireworks. Festivities will continue into Sunday, with another dinner planned at the Cipriani that evening, before the couple finish off their European wedding weekend with a civil ceremony on Monday.”

Amal’s dress is going to be either Sarah Burton for McQueen or Oscar de la Renta. Amal’s sister Tala will be her maid of honor, and we don’t know who Clooney is using as his Best Man. I suspect it’s Rande Gerber. Matt Damon is already there, but he’s the only big celebrity I’ve seen so far. But I’ll be doing coverage of everything tomorrow, IF it goes down (it will go down).

Honest question. Does anyone really even care about these two?

    • Mike says:

I do. I like George Clooney myself. I am just shocked that he is actually going to marry somebody.

      • Pants says:

        Ditto!

      • BooBooLaRue says:

Me too! I wish them the best! I am NOT a troll, I mean this.

      • Kitten says:

        I’M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

…for this sh* t to be over already.

      • Fan says:

I really believe this marriage is an arrangement. Before Amal, George had
been receiving months of bad press
after his last breakup. There was much
speculation that each of his BFF’s
        were two year contract arrangements.
George didn’t like the bad press and what
do you know……..two dates with this one
        and he was engaged.

      • pnichols says:

Puuuure politics folks. Just go along for the ride. It’s all BS.

      • Sabrine says:

I care and that’s why I’m here looking at the photos. So not sure why you’re here if you don’t care?

      • SuperDuperKitten says:

Some of us actually come here to make fun of them.

      • mimif says:

Lol Kitten, I am so in the same gondola as you.

Oh and I didn’t even look at the pics, I just come here for the comments. 🙂

      • Tiffany :) says:

This engagement has been so quick…but it feels like it has lasted an ETERNITY because we have been hearing about it nearly every single day!

      • Kosmos says:

I agree with what “Fan” said, that this might be arranged because up until now, everything seemed like two year contracts with each woman. I dunno, I just cannot see that he knew her for only a year, or less, and now they’re getting married. No. Something is off here. I do like Amal, she seems great, but I’m not buying that George is tying the knot without knowing her for a much longer length of time, and add in that he has said numerous times that he’s not the marriage type.

      • Gea says:

I wished them the best. Still , for me it is hard to belive that he will say yes to anybody.

      • Lisa says:

I’m sorry, but why are people so cynical about this? i think, when you are older, unlike when you are younger, you know what you want. When you are younger its always an “I know what I don’t want” number. He’s waited it out…and maybe when he met her, he saw exactly the woman he has been waiting for, when you are that sure, you don’t need to think twice. I met my husband and the moment I met him I knew he would be the father of my children. Mind, I had been married and divorced before, even had a kid who was getting older by the year. By the time I had my second kid there was a 12 year gap between him and the first, but I honestly found the man I wanted and that I knew I deserved. My ex was not that man, I married him coz I was young, pregnant, insecure in myself, and excessively naive. This might be the kind of marriage many are still in and just choosing not to get out of, but who knows. I honestly think its only 10% of the global married population that are genuinely happy.

    • kri says:

Not really. I mean, congrats and happy wedding, but no big deal. I think it is interesting that her “romantic history” is so Jason Bourne. Maybe he had her made in a top secret facility.

    • mia girl says:

Honest reply – Wasn’t into it, but suddenly, I’m totally down for a giant gossip spectacle of a wedding.

      • jinni says:

Me too. All of a sudden I am excited for it. I think it has a lot to do with the city of Venice and the thought of celebs in glamourous get ups sailing down the canals in gondolas as crowds throw petals from the bridges or something ridiculously over the top like that. I want full on champagne kisses and caviar dreams level of spectacle.
I hope there are more A-list celebs than just Damon and that John guy from the Office.

      • Jayna says:

@Jinni, yes, me too. After seeing all of the photos on Daily Mail, I’m in for this wedding.

      • trac says:

I agree. Seems like it will be a very beautiful, elegant wedding. Very old school. I’m down for any wedding set in Venice!

      • Chris2 says:

Me to, I’m very excited about it!
Gawd it sounds like a heavenly day, and yes….let’s hope for lots of slebs there.
I hope Amal has chosen a real stonker of a dress. I suppose it’ll have to be white…but with her skin and hair that should be gorgeous.
I’m happy for George, he’s never done any harm, and I hope they are really happy.

      • Sunny says:

Me too! Craven attention whore Clooney(thanks Kaiser) is getting married! I wonder what celebs will be attending? I really hope Julia will be there and be her usual obnoxious self.

George loves the attention, the fame game, and his position in Hollywood. If they are happy having a huge wedding more power to them!

Honestly, I think this will be awesome, stylish, and over the top. I hope they have a beautiful, happy day.

On another note, her hair is magnificent. Good Lord.

      • phlyfiremama says:

Me too. I love the fact that she is EATING THE ATTENTION up!! I would too~

    • BengalCat2000 says:

Ugh, I know I’m sick of these two but I love reading these comments!
      Actually, I’m sick of HIM.

    • Jaderu says:

I do. I’ve been excitedly peeling potatoes for my celebratory luncheon in their honor all week. Took me all week to peel 4 potatoes.

P.S. I agree her hair is real purty.

      • mia girl says:

So you are having french fries and wine… just like Goop?

      • mimif says:

Jaderu, I carved a potato for you (now please pass the wine).

        http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2wnmz6aJp1qklx1h.jpg

      • Jaderu says:

@mia girl See, this is why I think Goop is a goofball. (Goopball?) Everyone knows you pair french fries with Absolut and Kool-aid. Duh.

      • mia girl says:

@Jaderu – You need your own lifestyle blog… (maybe you can call it Poop – P for potatoes, duh), because you are so klassy with your kool-Aid and potato spirits. You should have tended bar for the wedding.

Me, on the other hand, I’m going low-brow.
I plan to celebrate the “AmalGemation” with some guac and a cold IPA (I’ll try to find one distilled from taters in your, kiddo and mimif’s honor).

      • Jaderu says:

        @mia girl
LOL! AmalGemation. Sounds like a weird breeding experiment. *tears*

    • emmie_a says:

      Not at all.

And her hair looks like blow-out perfection because it is a fresh blow-out. She obviously spends a lot of time & money on her upkeep and she LOVES all this attention.

      • Christin says:

Exactly. Her blowouts seem to have just gotten better and/or more frequent. And she seems to love showing it off!

      • Decloo says:

That blow-out is especially impressive because she just arrived in Venice by speed boat. The weekend activities sound absolutely EXHAUSTING! Why so many parties?

    • Kiddo says:

      I bet George has moobs.

    • Stef Leppard says:

I really don’t care. I just clicked on it because I didn’t want to read about Gwyneth Paltrow or Lena Dunham and Amal looked pretty in the cover pic. I scanned the wedding details, blah blah blah. I find George to be incredibly annoying but I am a little intrigued by Amal.

      • LIVEALOT says:

THIS! lol. She radiates here. I dig her.

      • hadlyB says:

Same but I refuse to click on any Kardashian stories — of the 50 that are posted daily. At least George (who I don’t really care for ) does something with his life.

    • Kiddo says:

      Where is Originalnewoldbestimprovedjustplainkitten?

She loves the stories about George and his fairytale love story.

      • mimif says:

She’s furiously bedazzling our muumuus and making Jell-O shots & powdered donuts for Jaderu’s celebratory luncheon.

      • Kiddo says:

Oh, you know what? She’s probably crafting a gift for George and Amal!

      • Kitten says:

“George and Amal have arrived in Venice for the Wedding of The Century!!!!
Italian news outlets are reporting that Amal and George have arrived ahead of their nuptials in the beautiful Northern Italian province of Venice. Celebs will be descending upon the area shortly to join in the celebration of this astoundingly happy joyful union between equals. With imported cheese made from the milk of chinchillas and vintage wine made from the rare dingleberry, the wedding promises to be an exquisite affair.

Rumor mills have been churning about the famously finicky bachelor’s ballsac hair situation. Will George get his nads waxed and polished in the famous Italian salon Cue-Ballio’s? Or will he let his ball hair grow out and have it braided into something spectacular? One can only guess but one thing we do know for sure is that these two equals will finally be joined in a holy union of equality and love. “

      • Lahdidahbaby says:

O’Kit, you are unrivaled fabulosity. I bow to you. Amen.

      • Kiddo says:

        @(extra strength) Kitten..well done.

    • Sarah says:

I do. I’ve always liked George. I hope they are happy and I think she’s gorgeous.

    • DavidBowie says:

I care about Amal but not George. As to him being her equal…um, no.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I’m interested in the story but feel like they’ve been engaged forever, and am tiring of it. Get married already.

    • LeAnn Stinks says:

Nope, I don’t care and think he is making a big mistake marrying this woman if he thinks this will help him with his future in politics.

    • Esmom says:

I haven’t given a rat’s ass about them, but this headline/photo made me click so I guess I care more than I think!

      • Kiddo says:

I think the headline implied that it’s the beginning of the end of this wedding marketing. that’s why I clicked, because it’s almost over.

    • reba says:

Judging by the 140 comments at this hour, I would say yes. Or maybe ‘care about’ is not the right word. Love to watch, can’t wait for the next instalment.

    • Enuff Said says:

Wow…she looks gorgeous and happy!! Hope it lasts!! He looks agreeable…

    • MariPoodle says:

      Veneers! On both of them!
(And if anyone remembers the drinking game that made fun of Antiques Roadshow, that’s two drinks, folks)

    • Kate2 says:

I care enough to say mean things about them. So there’s that.

She really bugs me for some reason. There’s something about her that screams gold digger to me. And I don’t say that from jealousy, I’m no Clooney freak. I mean, I like him as an actor but he’s not my f*** fantasy. Her face and the way she carries herself in these pap pics just says “Attention whore”.

He gets on my nerves sometimes. He can just be so smug. But I like the causes he supports and again, I like him as an actor. Good Night and Good Luck was awesome.

      • Malak says:

She does so LOVE the attention and cameras.

        Has anyone seen his sister?

      • SideEye Sally says:

George’s sister was on the boat with them when they arrived. She was wearing a black and white print top/dress (standing next to the bodyguard on the back).

    • Nedsdag says:

      No, but congratulations!

  2. aims says:

God, does anyone else feel like this countdown to wedding had been going on forever?

    • Candy Love says:

I think the reason way it feel that way is because we as in the public have been given every detail of this wedding.

  3. Kay says:

    Vom.com. Bring all the buckets.

  4. Tanguerita says:

I honestly can’t decide who of the both is the bigger famewhore. However, as of the moment, my money is on her. But yes, great hair.

    • emmie_a says:

She’s a total famewhore. She is absolutely loving all this attention. She is getting exactly what she wanted.

    • Charlie says:

Yeah, they both love the attention soooo much. She is very pretty, though.

I’ve seen pictures of Cindy Crawford and Ellen Barkin, they’re there too.

    • Misstee says:

She sweats smug and he has gone down so far in my estimation with this hungry attention grab that he has actually come out the other side of the planet.

      Urghhhhhhhhh

    • LadyMTL says:

I don’t think it’s entirely fair to call her the attention-whore, when he’s the one who’s been gabbing non-stop and making lovey-dovey speeches and etc. Yes, she is definitely enjoying the attention (and if I had hair like that I would be too, lol) but they’re both equally basking in it.

      • als says:

Throw down the right amount of money and you will have her hair.

      • siri says:

Why is everybody so focused on her hair? Take that away, and you see a very ‘average’ looking girl with tons of makeup on. And like als says, with the money they have, we all would look glamorous after spending hours in a hair salon.

    • Chinoiserie says:

Considering that we do not really know anything about her and he seems to be in control of everything I am not sure why you say she is more of a famewhore. Sure she has given pap walks but that is pretty much it since I really consider her expression in the pictures to be famewhoring.

  5. Hissyfit says:

Lol. They both love the attention! Can’t wait for this wedding to be over, they’ve been pimping it since forever!

  6. Ag says:

i’m sort of neutral on clooney, more on the “like” side if anything, but this seems to be total overload.

  7. Grant says:

Am I the only person who doesn’t give two sh!ts about these two? Yes?? Bueller?

    • mimif says:

Right there with you. This is the first Clooney post I’ve clicked on in forever because I don’t get the hype. At all.

    • Esmom says:

I really haven’t. But I clicked on this post — like mimif I haven’t in ages — so I guess on some level I do care. Sigh, hopefully it’s just a 24-hour thing…

  8. jiji says:

Eh. At least they look happy.

And yeah, her hair is glorious.

  9. Jayna says:

I love her hair in the photo. A little sleeker than usual. She and George look good together in this photo.

  10. littlemissnaughty says:

God, those pics look better than some photoshoots I’ve seen. They not only don’t care, they WANT the attention. If he’s indeed not running for office … WHY?

  11. Louise says:

I feel for some strange reason there is something off with this woman.

  12. Eleonor says:

I am jelous of her hair too !!
    And the earrings are great.

  13. Size Does Matter says:

They look very Camelot, vintage glam in these photos. And also very happy. I think it’s nice.

*runs for cover – please just don’t throw tomatoes, I loathe them*

  14. Greata says:

I can’t decide if she’s playing the game or being played. Time will tell.

    • tracking says:

Oh, I think she is down for this game. Totally.

    • siri says:

I think they both play a game here. Clooney finally shows his true colors with this exuberant wedding. They closed canals, and streets for this, boat drivers are wearing uniforms with both their initials on the jacket, flags with their initials, they have their own photographers on call- it can’t get more pomptous. Three days of lavish parties, and tons of photos, and Vogue will indeed cover for the price of a donation. I don’t know what his agenda behind this is, but I’m sure there is one. And Amal obviously loves the whole circus, since it will make her famous, too, just for the wrong reason. I’m curious if the Pitt’s will be attending,

    • Mot says:

With all the hoopla i am beginning to believe the rumors that this is in preparation for a career in politics. She fits the bill for a perfect educated senators wife. But I believe as smart as she is, she has her own aspirations too, so it’s a perfect match!

Had they quietly married, I may have believed it was for love only

      • Someonestolemyname says:

How is a British, Middle Eastern non US-citizen lawyer ,married to a movie star who was just a few months ago getting drunk ,spending nights fighting with Steve Wynn in Las Vegas perfect for a US Senators wife in a climate when the US is at war with factions in the Middle East?

This is so fake, it’s beyond E! Channel fake.
George Clooney BEARD ,pr production all the way.
She’s also not very likable. IMO. She comes off way too smug.
She reminds me of MR.Bean with hair as another poster said weeks ago.

      • emma says:

She is so beautiful and has a fascinating career. George looks happy with her. He is lucky to have her, and she is pleased with him too.

      • Someonestolemyname says:

She’s not beautiful, her face is not attractive, IMO. She looks like Mr.Bean to me since it was mentioned weeks ago.
        Great hair though.

  15. Guesto says:

Oh what a circus, oh what a show! There’s a great shot of them on the boat with their very own Vogue photograher a couple of feet away capturing the very private couple as they very discretely arrive on the very busy canal in an open taxiboat, generously sharing their private pre-wedding moments with the onlooking peasants.

He’s good for a laugh if nothing else, Mr ‘My Private Life is Private’ Clooney. Bring on the clowns.

  16. LadyJane says:

She does have FAB hair and I think it is naturally amazing, but I also think she might have had a few filler extensions put in for the wedding. It wasn’t THAT full and THAT long before, in my opinion.

  17. Jen2 says:

Amalooney are pouring it on thicker than molasses. Posing and waving to the crowds from the boat, making sure everyone is photographed arriving. I am glad he is happy, but this just looks like some overblown B movie being filmed and we will see it on HBO soon. Is the Venice Chamber of Commerce and Department of Tourism paying for this? Just seems a bit much, but again, that is just how George rolls. Wish them the best though (and will be glad when it is all over).

  18. lisa2 says:

I wonder where her friends are. I see her on the boat with George and his friends.. but I don’t recall seeing them out with her friends.

She has great hair.. I think it is genetic.. But it is lovely.

    @jen above..

yeah i saw the Dailymail has pictures of all the guest arriving.. Matt, Ellen, that if funny to me.. I think it is set up that way.. Again I don’t know where her family and friends are.. we are only seeing George’s side.

    • Jayna says:

They are only showing the celebs or semi-celebs. I’m sure there are more on both sides that are non-famous I’m sure, and what pap cares about that, no money in it, and no room to put on the Daily Mail photos no one is interested in.

      Matt Damon looks soooooooooooooooooooooo hot.

    • siri says:

There are plenty of pics on Getty images. Her mother and sister are on the boat as well. So are Clooney’s parents. I don’t know if her father is there, though, or Clooney’s sister. Probably…

  19. Tiffany27 says:

What magazine is getting the wedding pics?

    • lisa2 says:

It was reported very early on that it would be Vogue. but who knows really.

    • Hissyfit says:

It looks like they have Kimye as wedding inspiration! From being famewh0res, the media circus of wedding leaks and to a Vogue deal. I can’t believe Amalooney and Kimye would ever be in the same level. Lol.

      • Jen2 says:

When they break out the wall of flowers is when I leave!! But I get the same impression. Nothing about this is subtle and is very Kanye and KK…look at meeeeee!!

    • Candy Love says:

      Vogue

    • Jaderu says:

According to Kri above it will be Popular Mechanics.
I’ll be here all week. Try the veal. Don’t forget to tip your waitress. I’ll show myself out.

    • siri says:

Anna Wintour (Vogue) already arrived. All the ‘leaked’ details were true: it’s pompous.

  20. M says:

These photos are so staged. I’m starting to miss George with those women with two-year contract.

  21. FreeSpiritedGirl says:

Wish you all the best, George.
Amal is looking more beautiful than earlier. I guess it is the ‘wedding glow’?

  22. Tiffany says:

This shows that Clooney really is the last of the movie stars. In the 60’s there were select photographers, not paps, waiting for the stars to exit their boat, plane or enter their car. These photos remind me of photos of yore. Well, cannot wait to see the photo and which magazine is going to publish them. I also who the go to photographer is going to be. Annie Liberwitz is who I think is going to cover them.

    • Candy Love says:

How does this show that Clooney is the last of the “movie stars” ?

      • lisa2 says:

Yeah I’m confused on that one too. George is hardly the “Last Movie star”.. There are others.

I don’t think George is the King of Hollywood or that he embodies old school glam. I think that is what George likes to think and wants others to think. I actually like him sometimes, but I don’t like the way he preaches to the masses.

    • Someonestolemyname says:

I feel like I’m watching Behind the Candelabra, when Liberace tells the audience he’s looking for a wife.

  23. Jaderu says:

This is the wedding that Brad and Angie (THE UNMITIGATED NERVE!!!) robbed us of. I see Amalooney or Cloomuddle or whatever as our saviors. Show some respect people. #propswherepropsaredeserved
    #teamtater
    #nodisrespecttobenaffleck

  24. Misstee says:

I cant believe we live in a world where George Clooney is a bigger famewhore than Kim Kardashian

    • Jayna says:

But at least it looks old school glamour. I love the backdrop and the boats motoring down to the venue. And, hey, they get A-Lister guests arriving, unlike poor Kimtrashian.

      • Someonestolemyname says:

It looks total famewhorish, E! true Hollywood Story with the Vogue editor at the wedding to direct the photos, ending of this Beard marriage to be determined.
George reminds me of Liberace with this wedding. He even has Matt Damon in it.

  25. als says:

    Kanye did it first!
He found the One first, he did the wedding, the fame whore bride and Vogue first!

  26. QQ says:

    This is what Ive got:

She looks really pretty here Like her hair and smile? Spectacular!

I’m gonna feel bad if this isnt a sham or quid pro quo situationship because there is a shitton of ridiculous pressure and expetations on her, like especially from the ridiculous People Magazine Today Show viewership and anchors swooning to and fro about how Amal tamed him and Babies are next and OMIGOD They’ll Never Part, he Is so In love how Romantical Oooohh ahhhhh

  27. Jennifer says:

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but yes, I am actually interested in the wedding. I’m just really surprised he is actually getting married again given his previous remarks on never getting married again. But maybe, just maybe, he was saying that because he knew he had no interest in marrying the women he was with at the time of the comment. Who knows? But I do wish them the best of luck and much happiness.

  28. lizzie says:

gaahhh! I WAS JUST IN VENICE LAST WEEKEND!

  29. Jayna says:

Matt Damon is my eye candy for the day.

Randy Gerber (Cindy Crawford’ husband) is George’s best man. I had no idea they were best friends.

    • Jess says:

They’ve been close for years. There are lots of shots over the years of Rande, Cindy, George, and George’s girl of the moment. They even do that tequila business together and there’s a cute commercial for it (wonder if it’s still online?) with Rande, Cindy, George, and Stacy.

    • Santolina says:

Over the years, Rande has been rumored to be more than a friend, which is why “Best Man” would be brilliant poetic irony…

  30. Paige says:

I really don’t like when celeb wedding are so over the top like this. It’s Kim Kardashian and Katie& Tom Cruise wedding all over again. I hope they have a long marriage because celebs spend more time planning than staying married.

  31. maddelina says:

I think she looks lovely but I have nicer hair. Mine’s all natural too!! Sorry I felt like bragging.

    • Isadora says:

Ha! Apparently I’m not the only one who thinks that she has – indeed – very nice hair, but not THAT incredibly drop dead gorgeous, absolutely fabulous hair. Thank you! 🙂

  32. Kim1 says:

Yay the Wedding of the Century happens in about 24 hrs
Its like Prince Charles and Lady Diana all over again. What time is the wedding so I can set my alarm?

  33. k says:

am i the only one who finds her really really similar in looks and build (no, not colouring obvs) to jolie-olie?

  34. Jess says:

Her hair is freakin’ amazing – I am beyond jealous. And I saw pics of the two of them with Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber and she made Cindy look like a plain jane. So now I’m totally jealous of her – a very cool lawyer (I’m a lawyer too but a very boring type) who’s gorgeous, with fantastic hair and a very glamorous vibe (at least in these shots).

Meanwhile, I’m a little concerned that this is Clooney’s Tom Cruise-mid-life-crisis moment. I’m glad he’s dating a lawyer and if he wants to get married that’s great, but this over the top spectacle has a slight whiff of couch-jumping to it. Has he just lost his cool mo jo?

    • SideEye Sally says:

You do realize that Cindy seems to be wearing little or no make-up, don’t you? Whereas, Amal has a “heavy make-up” look for this entrance.

    • Esmom says:

I disagree about Cindy looking plain Jane. I thought she looked stunningly beautiful and natural.

      • lisa2 says:

Randy and Cindy I think had just arrived in Venice..they are wearing traveling cloths. George and Amal are dressed for pictures. Besides it is not Cindy’s wedding. I doubt she is in the wedding party. She and Randy are dressed appropriately for just traveling to Venice.

I think George and Amal picked them up to take them to the hotel.

    • Isadora says:

Amal is also a lot younger than Cindy. When Cindy was 36 she looked just as stunning even with little make-up on.

  35. Astrid says:

I’m loving the spectacle! Love the old style movie vibe. I’m having trouble believing that she is a respected barrister. Who has time to look so fabulous and maintain a career?

  36. aqua says:

At this point it really doesn’t matter about her romantic history or past relationships and nor does his, all that matters to them is this relationship and their new life together. It looks like they are excited and having a great time which is how it should be.

  37. Jess says:

I think they really like each other. Amal probably studied a lot, counts her siblings as her close friends –happens in immigrant families thus her maid of honor, probably didn’t even think about marriage, certainly didn’t make it a goal. I’m projecting but I don’t think they’re famewhores. It’s their wedding. They can be really excited and happy. And Clooney is Clooney, a chronically popular actor. They’re handling this gracefully. Sometimes fighting the attention is too much work. Should they shut the joint down for privacy? Look sad? Of course not.

  38. Honeybee Blues says:

I like Clooney, but I want the coverage because I’m from Venice (Mom lives on the Cannaregio Canal), and I’m feeling a bit homesick. My mother and stepfather, on the other hand, have fled Venice for their mountain place. The regular tourists are plentiful enough without the bottlenecking in the calle this is going to cause. When I asked if she was going to be there for the big event, her response was a simple, “Are you insane?” And she likes Clooney.

  39. Eli says:

I know we’re all supposed to looking at Amal and gushing about her (she does have really great hair) – I saw some more pictures of them on the boat (with Rande and Cindy) and it was actually Cindy Crawford that I couldn’t stop staring at. I want to know her beauty secrets. Holy Moly!

    • maddelina says:

Same. I thought Cindy looked so cool, casual and gorgeous. George looks so old!! I always get the feeling he has bad breath. I don’t know why.

      • dawnchild says:

Been trying to figure out why he got so old-looking of late. Put my finger on it recently…let his eyebrows go gray too. Ages the face, esp with a tanned one like his.

      • Jaded says:

I think it’s the constant back pain from his Syriana injuries – nothing ages you like constant, nagging pain…unless it’s a constant nagging spouse.

      • elizabennett says:

because underneath the glamorous pretty-boy facade, he is very crude, and has lived the extremely promiscuous lifestyle of a very crude person, which without fail eventually starts to wear at a person’s looks. because he has a huge drinking problem, and that too has started to show in his still-handsome but subtly venal and dissipated-looking face. and because the tension of pretending to be something he is not (heterosexual) for all of these years, and the anger-management problems and tantrums that he sometimes is prey to due to that strain and tension, are also starting to mark his face.

    • siri says:

Cindy is smart, she knows she should not look more glamorous than the bride-to-be. By going completely casual, and natural, she actually outshines her. Let’s not forget, Amal is just 36…

    • fairyvexed says:

Her beauty secrets? Plastic surgery. She hawks this bullshit melon extract on late night TV, but the infomercials neglected to mention she’s had some work done.

  40. Jayna says:

I want to go to Venice. It’s so beautiful

Bono, love your new free album. Thanks. Sing the beautiful love song “Song for Someone” off of it to the new couple.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/italy/venice/11121235/Inside-the-George-Clooney-wedding.html

“The Jolie-Pitts are thought to have reserved a suite there, along with Cate Blanchett, U2’s Bono and Cindy Crawford with her husband Rande Gerber, who’s expected to act as Clooney’s best man. But whether the whole wedding party – including, as the Cipriani says, the happy couple – will be staying in its entirely booked-out 44 rooms and 41 suites (with rates ranging from £575 to eye watering four-digit figures) remains to be seen.”

    • Someonestolemyname says:

I’d love to hear Cindy’s real private conversation about this. She’s had to befriend all of George’s previous contracts.

  41. boredblond says:

I hear he’s changing his name to Kardashian. In Europe, this is treated like actual world shaking news, weird.

  42. browniecakes says:

I want to attend. Looks gorgeous, fun and expensive. How happy must Cindy be she doesn’t have to do the meet and greet with Clooney girls anymore. She must have gotten to a point of writing their names on her hand.

  43. Cheryl says:

She seems odd, smug, and a player. But well-played hair, well-played! Great hair will get you anywhere, I guess. I guess I’m joining that group with the vom. buckets.

  44. Kim1 says:

These Jolie Pitt / Cate,Julia,Sandra ,Bono rumors remind me of the Beyonce/Jay rumors during Kimye wedding

  45. Mzizkrizten says:

I’m convinces Clooney’s master plan is to run for president. So, who would vote for him?

    • siri says:

I don’t think he will. He knows he’s not THAT smart. I also doubt he wants to work that hard. But to answer your question: I wouldn’t.

  46. Listerino says:

I’m mesmerized by that glorious hair. Whatever she’s using I want some!

  47. Paloma says:

Amal is really pretty. If Julia Roberts shows up, I will be disappointed.

  48. Ag-UK says:

I am actually surprised he announced he was getting married in Venice AND HE IS. All weird they both love it I am tired of it nice hair and all.

  49. Dany says:

Wow the best Amal ever looked. She´s glowing.

That whole thing is one big PR spectacle.

  50. Green Eyes says:

All we need now is for Benedict Cumberbatch and his Very Secret Girlfriend to travel to Venice to photobomb the nuptials! Now, THAT’S Amore!

  51. Eugenia says:

Why does this look like they are arriving to a movie premiere? Seriously, this looks like a movie festival with stars arriving by boat promoting their latest movie feature. My mind is blown. I am just so so surprised that George is so open about this being the weekend that he is getting married. Arriving by boat in full view of paps. Posing for pics. His ass really ain’t trying to hide. Hell, he is flaunting and is inviting attention that is the weird thing about it all.

  52. Someonestolemyname says:

This looks so fake, George and his Beard look like they are totally posing.
Amal comes off way too smug.
George reminds me of a Simon Cowell.
I don’t see this lasting long.
    2yrs. tops.

  53. amy says:

    So excited

  54. Chris says:

Ah to be young and in love. Do you think George will go into politics now that he’s married to a high profile lawyer?

  55. Sara says:

They look genuinely happy, but who wouldn’t be excited under similar circumstances? I’d be happy too, if only in anticipation of the festivities.

  56. Vava says:

I guess I’m in the tiny minority here, I’m quite happy for them! I like them both, especially George. I’m looking forward to hearing all about the wedding, who was there, what they were wearing. I’d invite them to dinner if they came to my town. 🙂

  57. lisa2 says:

I think the Dailymail is doing live coverage.

I saw pics of Amal and her family and maybe friends.. ENews had some video of them arriving for dinner.. So this time tomorrow it will be a done deal.. until the actual Civil Ceremony on Monday.

  58. funny bone says:

This is another check Mr Clooney is writing to run for Governor of California. In the above photos, at the car, you can almost guess he is telling her to smile. Staged. In other words, a gay man doesn’t have a chance running for Governor of California.

    • Chris says:

It’s also about not being single. The thinking around political circles is that a married person projects a more stable image than a single person. Personally I couldn’t give a toss if the person is married, single, straight or gay. It’s their policies I’m interested in.

      • elizabennett says:

he is a clown actor with the intellect of pea. activism is about as serious as it ought to get for him, and he struggles with presenting even enough gravitas for that. i guess he has my blessing to become a state assemblymen. from west hollywood, say. but beyond that, perhaps he should tend to his closet.

    • jane16 says:

You guys are so funny! Why would George want to be Governor of California? He is hardly ever even here. Besides, George LOVES his career. He may be interested in politics, but he isn’t going to sacrifice getting to do whatever the hell he wants for the daily grind of an impossible job. btw, we Californian’s elected Jerry Brown when he was single and a lot of people thought he was gay or bi. Still do, in fact.

      • elizabennett says:

jerry brown is a jesuit-educated lawyer with a formidable analytical mind. george clooney is a dipshit actor. his heart’s in the right place, but he’s better off sticking to playing activist and having closeted disco parties with the cabana boys he ships in to his italian palazzo and leaving the heavy stuff to people of substance.

  59. LAK says:

I feel like suggesting a weekend long open post dedicated to this wedding. And some sort of red carpet post because the bride is doing her fashion best.

Arriving in Venice in Dolce and Gabbana
Rehearsal dinner in McQueen – as designed by Alexander himself, not one of Sarah Burton’s designs. The red dress she’s wearing is from a 2009 collection.

  60. Maria of MD says:

Looks like it’s going to be a far classier shindig than the Kanye-Kim wedding.

  61. Guest says:

I wouldn’t call something far more famewhore-y than the Kardashians put on classy, exactly. In fact, George has exposed himself as ridiculously desperate for attention as the ringmaster of this PR circus, second perhaps only to his desperately thirsty bride.

I mean, the wedding branding has initials that Alamuddin is prancing around on a hat box!? Sweet Jesus, how ludicrously embarrassing.

And Kim does have lengths she hasn’t sunk to, like officially bearding an old guy for the attention.

All in all, another unconvincingly forced storyline written and directed by George Clooney.

    • SideEye Sally says:

The “wedding branding” is on the jackets of the taxi drivers and other attendants involved as well as flags to identify the appropriate taxis for the guests. Perhaps that hat box was the wedding favor or welcome gift for all. Gotta love it… This event is definitely over the top.

    • jane16 says:

Amal hasn’t “sunk” to anything. As far as kim kartrashian, she is bearding for a young-ish guy, and has sunk to every possible low. Her wedding to that rapping idiot was a giant tack-fest, especially considering that it was her THIRD wedding. Over the top garish and famewhorey. Paid for by “E”, and designed for ratings. PMK’s head is probably swiveling around on her pulled-tight neck as the A list guests are filing into Venice. This is Amal’s first wedding (likely her only), and George is one of the most famous movie stars in the world. Italy loves him and if he wants to give his bride a fairy tale wedding, good for him. She looks absolutely stunning in all the photos I’ve seen so far. Bet she will be a beautiful bride, and this wedding looks like the epitome of class and taste.

      • Guest says:

So sinking is bearding for a young-ish guy but never for an old geezer? Fabulous logic. Lol!!

And neither was it particularly logical insisting days ago that this wedding was moving along at a very low key pace rather than the very obvious PR spectacle everyone else saw it to be.

But rather than that being a reality check, the goal posts move to another illogical excuse: George just wants to give his bride a dream wedding. Well, maybe if Amal loved the attention a little less than him she wouldn’t need that.

You also do not speak for all of Italy any more than you speak for all of LA, where I live, and I’m sure there are just as many Italians over Clooney as there are in Hollywood — particularly those who are having their city hijacked by this multi-day publicity spectacle. And, no, you can’t take their opinions away through a lack of logic any more than you can anyone else’s on Celebitchy.

  62. ch2 says:

They really don’t look like they have any chemistry. Looks like an awkward first date more than anything…

  63. Melanie says:

They even have their own monogram for the wedding. This is getting sickening. Who do they think they are – the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. So over the top, tacky and distasteful. This is the biggest PR stunt Clooney has ever pulled in his life. It’s all very desperate and attention seeking. Enter the new Kim and Kimye. And even more laughable coming from 2 claimed humanitarians with George claiming to care about the poor in Africa. It’s a 3 day ego-fuelled ostentatious money blowout with everything occurring in front of the world’s cameras who George has invited.

    • elizabennett says:

george clooney thinks the rubes, yokels, and cretins who vote movie stars into high elective offices will eat up this gay closet-case kabuki act. caroline kennedy has already been gushing about what a wonderful candidate he would make for……President of the United States. it is sickening.

  64. cleo says:

I am surprised I feel this way but it’s hitting an off-key note for me in these times. Show-offy, almost grotesque. More of a look-at-me than a love vibe.

  65. Guest says:

If it seems grotesque now, wait until day number four of this circus! 😉

  66. GoldenRetriever says:

Have we not learnt anything from Kim Karslashian, the bigger the showbiz spectaculaaaahhh wedding, the shorter the marriage. Hell, even E! is starting to question this farce. It’s TomKat 2.0 on ice. I couldn’t handle watching Cruise movies after that couch-jumping embarrassment. I wasn’t actually that much of a fan but would see his movies from time to time, but after the total over-exposure of his personal life I just though naaah, you’re a douche, not getting my time or money. I’m the same with Clooney now. I’ve been interested at all the astrologers on these threads saying that his star is waning… I hope that comes to pass, I’ve had enough George Clooney in the last six months to last a lifetime. PS Congrats on the wedding, wonder what time the live broadcast starts.

  67. lisa2 says:

    wrong thread..

  68. Jellybean says:

I love the boat ride pics of George, Amal, Cindy and rande… It actually looks like a normal wedding thing.. Less formal than what most peasants have been doing lol

    • elizabennett says:

it’s a double date, george and rande holding hands under the table, and amal and cindy doing the same.
