Lindsay Lohan and her new publicity-whore boyfriend about town, Calum Best, were seen visiting an apartment they’re said to have “already signed up for” at The Atelier in midtown Manhattan. I hope that means they’ve just applied and aren’t approved yet, because if the soundproofing isn’t top notch their neighbors are going to hate them.

They met with designer Doug Wilson from “Trading Spaces” in the lobby of the building and Lindsay was seen giving him a hug and kiss and looking enthused while Calum looked on kind of bored. I remember having an intense dislike for arrogrant designer Doug and would never hire him to design my place. Once he made someone’s bedroom look like a prison cell with a picture of a sad inmate peering out from behind the bars. (Wikipedia had to remind me, but I did see that episode.) Most of the designers on the American version of Trading Spaces take chances that are too bold, with the exception of Laurie and maybe the contest winner Jon, but I haven’t watched it in a while.

I know nothing about Lindsay’s new squeeze Calum Best, and had to look him up on Wikipedia. Commentor Mairead reminds me that “he’s not British!” and indeed he’s just sort-of famous there for being the son of footballer George Best and appearing in various throwaway reality shows. He was born in California, and I’ve never seen him on anything so I can’t even say if he has a convinceable accent. He won “Celebrity Love Island” in 2006, has his own cologne out, and once modeled.

Yesterday there was a story in the NY Daily News that Calum pinned some woman he didn’t know to the wall and kissed her outside of the bathroom of a club in the Bahamas - while he was there with Lindsay! This one’s going to last, sure.

What a great idea to move in together. At least Lindsay’s hiring a designer that can do the job in a couple of days. That seems to be the standard duration of her relationships. This one has last a whole week.
