Last week, we heard that LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian were being sued by their former housekeeper. The housekeeper, Gloria Cevallos, claims that their home was a hostile work environment, a hotbed of ageism and racism, and that she was subjected to discrimination and verbal abuse by LeAnn and Eddie’s employees and family members. I was kind of meh on the story because… I don’t know, I’ll criticize LeAnn and Eddie for many things, but it seemed more than reasonable that this woman was just looking for a quick payout. I suggested that they throw a small amount of money at her to get her to go away. But they aren’t taking my advice. LeAnn sent this tweet to TMZ:

And then TMZ published this story:
LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian claim their former maid is a serial suer who concocted a ridiculous story of abuse in order to fleece her employers. Gloria Cevallos sued the couple after she got canned, claiming members of the staff went on a terror campaign against her, calling her “fat” and “old.” She says Eddie’s mom also had a thing against Salvadorians and ultimately fired her.
Sources close to LeAnn and Eddie say the couple is scoffing at the maid, saying they were always nice to her. In fact, even in the maid’s lawsuit she never accuses them of mistreatment.
LeAnn and Eddie say this is a shameless money grab, pointing to a prior claim the maid lodged against 2 other employers. Fact is … Cevallos also filed a worker’s comp claim against LeAnn and Eddie but it was thrown out. So now the maid has filed a lawsuit claiming it was a hostile work environment in the Rimes/Cibrian homestead.
Eddie and LeAnn say the suit is a last ditch effort to get quick cash, and they will fight her to the end.
First of all, this just proves that LeAnn calls up TMZ to bitch and complain and she expects them to publish her bitching under the guise of “sources close to LeAnn and Eddie.” You showed your stupid media strategy there, LeAnn. Keep that in mind for all future tabloid reporting about LeAnn and Eddie – whenever we hear “sources close to LeAnn and Eddie,” know that it’s just LeAnn. As for the other stuff… sure. It’s possible. But still, I have to ask: wouldn’t it just be easier to give this woman a quick payout? But LeAnn is such a drama queen, I bet she’s going to pour thousands of dollars in legal fees fighting this woman.

Leann tweeted TMZ to give her side. So it wasn’t like she was trying to hide anything or that she contacted TMZ as she put it out in the open.
But prior to that she tweeted that the story was BS with hashtag #nolawsuit so which is it Leann? Cannot keep her lies straight. Pretty much everything out of LR and Ediot’s mouth is BS. I think she tried to make the lawsuit go away and couldn’t so now this story comes out.
The point is that LeAnn outright said she had contacted them to clear things up, then TMZ covered it as ‘sources close to’ instead of saying ‘we’ve heard from LeAnn’. So now we now that ‘sources close to LeAnn and Eddie’ are in fact just LeAnn herself. Foot bullet.

The point is, LEANN exposed herself as the ‘source’. Also, no she did not tweet TMZ to give her side. She only tweeted them AFTER she thought they wouldn’t run her ‘sources close to’ (proving it was HER) story. But they eventually did. She should have been patient.
Did she call them liars last week and use the hashtag “no lawsuit”? Reality is a bit fuzzy on that end.

I agree, if she has money to spare then why not fight it? Why open herself upto the possibility of other former staff members making stuff up and suing, just because she will give them money to shut up?

Leann calling anyone a serial suer is the pot calling the kettle black. She’s got 4 frivolous lawsuits under her belt. None of which she’s actually won. If what Leann says is true that she is that and has worked for everyone in the family then why hire her? If you know her past. What no background checks are done on employees? She definitely has an interesting definition of the word truth. She is the one that lied not TMZ. They reported facts – that there is a lawsuit. But now that her opinion of the maid is in their story it’s the truth? No mention of her own lies?

Having THREE maids surprised me. If they were basically a group that cleaned once a week, then the pay the woman wants would be a very small amount. That leads me to think all three were more than just a couple hours per week service arrangement.
My first thoughts were — Why do they need three maids and how do they afford it when it appears there is little money coming in (little when compared to the assumed expenses of the casa, cars, clothes, etc.).

I don’t know who to believe, I’m sure LeAnn is an awful person to work for but it does sound like this maid has a history with trying to sue, I hope she gets a little money though. LeAnn is even more sue happy and this is karma, suing Smiley and that dentist really did a number on her image, and of course her own father. I still can’t believe she sued a woman she called and cursed out and tried to make her become a fan, one of the craziest things a celebrity has ever done, she got caught and I think she was embarrassed and really thought a lawsuit would take the heat off of what she did.

It’s a storyline for her reality show. It’s to prove to the tabloids(OK and National Enquirer) and everyone who questions the status of their marriage that Leann and Eddie are not living in different houses, that Leann and Eddie are not broke, and that Leann and Eddie are a well known couple in Hollywood because people try to shake them down for money. Did everyone forget that Leann and Eddie were filming their show around this same time last year? Last year it was the fake pregnancy bowling, and workouts with Lizzy. This year, it’s the maid. Leann gave an interview last week saying that she was in talks with VH1 for season 2. VH1 hasn’t officially announced that they renewed Leann’s reality show, but until then, Leann is filming scenes and playing out storylines. This incident with the maid is one of them.
VH1 is going to renew that crapfest? The ratings were abysmal. LeAnn must be footing the bill.

You’re right. I’ve been going back and forth thinking that maybe this is a story line, maybe it’s not, but I have to say I agree with you. She’ll do anything to get that show picked back up because in her mind it proves to everyone that she’s as successful, and in-demand, as Brandi.
Maybe go through an agency or get impeccable background checks/references before hiring people…you are a “celebrity,” after all. I totally agree with couple others on here. This is all just a ploy to create buzz and maybe pilot for another show or something as equally ridiculous. I don’t know about the maid situation, but it wasn’t really all of the neighbour’s wives. Just a a group of women who said they didn’t like her and why. You know, like how she calls the paps to kid’s sports games and then whines about being photographed and how she engages people who aren’t fans for really minor comments. They called her desperate for attention. Someone commented on being at a kid’s Halloween event where she was and said she wasn’t very nice. They aren’t focused on it like they are on a mission or anything. The woman who commented in the first place now has LeAnn’s bullies attacking her. Her fans are the weirdest bunch of people ever. They think she’s their real friend and try to bully and intimidate anyone who isn’t a fan. I can’t imagine LeAnn thinking that this is a good way to get a second season of her show. I’m not saying she looks completely flabby, and realize she has genetic challenges toward a more rounded look. I’ve never understood how someone who exercises that many times per week can look so different within days. One week her legs look skinny, and the next they are borderline chunky looking.
