Jennifer Lopez, 45 years old, flashes her amazing abs: aspirational?

FFN_FF3FF13_Lopez_Jennifer_EXC_100914_51553594

Jennifer Lopez turned 45 years old this past July. SHE IS 45. For the love of God!!! These are photos of J.Lo leaving her gym in West Hollywood yesterday. Her abs… good God. And that’s after giving birth to twins. Even when I was at most thinnest, my most svelte and most youthful, I never had abs like that. Is it because I hate abdominal exercises? I’m sure that’s part of it, but even if I did a million crunches, I wouldn’t look like that. Is this aspirational? Or do we just look at these photos and become jelly h8rs?

Jennifer has actually lost a good 10-15 pounds over the past year. She told several media outlets that she went vegan mainly to lose weight. As an old-school J.Lo follower, I can tell you that she really doesn’t have the same ‘La Guitarra’ body that she used to have. I watched her “Booty” video with Iggy Azalea – her booty is smaller! And everything is more toned and sleek these days. Better or worse? I don’t know. But I am jealous of her abs.

By the way, Jennifer went to dinner with Casper Smart earlier this week. E! News’ sources claim they’re not really back together but they’ve remained “good friends” following their split. Do you believe that? I don’t. I think they’re back together. And I think she’s an idiot (about men) for going back to him. She knows it’s a dumb move too – that’s why “sources” keep insisting that they’re just friends.

    She’s ageless.

  2. Stef Leppard says:

Yes she looks amazing and yes I think her butt is smaller than it was when she did Selena.

    • Charlie says:

I actually think a bit of fat looks better on a woman than abs. I really don’t like abs on women. But that’s just me.

As for J.Lo, yes she looks great, but with her money, and chefs and personal trainers anyone can look good. And it’s part of her job to look good, she’s not talented enough to get by on talent alone.

      • AG-UK says:

Exactly if we all had that and the time. I’d love a chef to make calorie reduced, no salt, fat and still taste good food. Oh yeah and the $200 per hour trainer. She looks great and has amazing skin.

      • Artemis says:

As for J.Lo, yes she looks great, but with her money, and chefs and personal trainers anyone can look good.

Disagree. Money will not make you eat the right foods and get your ass off the couch. Chefs can cook meals for you but it’s up to the person to decide to eat it and NOT binge on bad foods in secret. Personal trainers can only do so much as your diet is what makes you lose the weight and fat mainly. You can exercise a lot and eat crap (see Britney Spears) and you won’t have JLo’s body.

What makes JLo look great is her dedication, discipline and personal values. Clearly being fit is her priority (even before she was famous, she was very active as she loved to dance) so she works at it: hard! There are more people who don’t have her resources than people who do and those can’t afford the gym work out at home or jog and bike to stay in shape. There are stories of people who lost weight simply by doing these simple activities on a daily basis with increased intensity .You don’t need money to get, be and stay fit.

As for the diet. If you can read, you can get a healthy cookbook or online recipes. The information on nutrition and diet is overwhelming.

The only advantage she has is time as AG-UK mentioned.

      • Kim1 says:

WTH There are plenty of overweight people with chefs and/ or trainers Queen Latifah,Oprah, etc. Just like there are plenty of working class people who are in great shape.

      • FLORC says:

It’s about what you put into your workouts. And about how your body is made up. People can match diets and work out harder and still not find it easy or even attainable to be skinny or fit. And another can find they’re fit without putting any effort in at all.

Oprah and QL have spoken at length about their weight. They will never be naturally thin and it’s with effort they are the shape they are. Also, that they love food and themselves. They will never deprive a craving in the interest of looking skinny.

All that said… Having a chef and personal trainer are the big factors here. That’s what helps JLo look how she looks. She’s not naturally this way. She has a strict diet prepared for her by personal chefs. She has trainers creating new workouts for her to optimize results. And she puts in the effort to work out several times a day.

        Artemis
But JLo has time because she’s not thinking about meals and workouts. That’s all preprepared for her. She shows up. Does as she’s told and that’s it. There’s mor than just time as an advantage. And many people work out better with someone instructing them. On their own vs. being instructed they almost always have greater and faster results when being instructed. That’s a huge advantage.

    • Hometown Glory says:

She allegedly had lipo’d fat from her booty a few years back. I guess she thought it was too fat.

    • Sabrine says:

She is very beautiful. I have seen very few bad photos of her because she is so stunning.

      • FLORC says:

There are such photos. JLo, like many celebs do not let bad shots see the light of day. It’s no secret her manager earns his money. If there’s a bad shot of JLo on a mag cover for example the mag knows they’re about to get hell from him. She’s only to be seen in the most flattering light. Same with Beyonce. Ariana takes it to a new level of doing it in public instead of letting it be handled by her hired staff on the phones.

    • qwerty says:

It’s significantly smaller than it was even 8 (I believe) years ago in Bordertown. There’s this shot of her profile where she’s standing in front of an aquarium and her butt is the first thing you notice. Now, not so much. Frankly, in the “Booty” vid it is not so great imo… I think it’s cause she’s just doing lots and lots of cardio these days to keep her weight where it used to be (or lower) and her body fat % is much lower than it used to be.

  3. Tifygodess24 says:

She looks amazing! I wish I could be that tan , that beautiful and on point like her NOW – forget about at 45 lol

  4. OriginalTessa says:

    Yeah, she’s hot as heck… still. 45 or 25, it doesn’t matter. She’s stunning.

  5. mernymerlyn says:

Damn! I would not wear a shirt either JLo. But that song is awful. I don’t mind so much the showing off the booty but the rubbing up on Iggy Azalea was bothersome to me?
Is she exploring that side of herself now in her videos because it’s really not necessary.

  6. Hawkeye says:

When I see pictures of people who are in such phenomenal, athletic shape, I feel bad about myself and then wonder where the nearest cookies are.

    • greenmonster says:

Yup, same here. Sometimes my only exercise is to train my biceps – frome the cookie jar to my mouth. Heavy loaded of course – taking my exercise serious. Then I get so exhausted that I need some chocolate.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      Lol. Me, too.

    • Snazzy says:

      Mmmmm cookies

    • DrM says:

I don’t. I think ‘good on them’ and then acknowledge that it is her job to look like that. She’s not going to be all up on MTV with Iggy if she’ s got a muffin top and Mum jeans is she? My job involves four teenagers, research, editing and trying to wrangle as much ‘life’ out of my budget as possible. I like the way I am, particularly on the inside. And the outside is just fine too.

  7. LadyMTL says:

Holy frijoles, Batman…those abs! I’ve been doing crunches since my teen years and I certainly don’t have abs like that, lol. Mind you, I also don’t have a personal trainer nor the time to work out as often as I’m sure JLo. does. Still, amazing.

  8. bella says:

why do these pics cause me to think it could be a diss to jennifer garner defending her “baby bump” by saying she’s had 3 babies?
    coincidence?
and, YES, i agree with the post and comments…best JLo has ever looked.
    she’s amazing…

    • joy says:

You’re not alone in that thought. That was on my mind as well.

      • bella says:

        ah, ok…good to know.
sometimes i think my mind is in the gutter…but this is so in your face of jlo and the timing is questionable.

    • Wolf says:

Perhaps, but she spends so much time prioritizing her looks she can neither keep a man nor family together.

  9. K says:

    Go girl!

  10. Zigggy says:

    Wow.

  11. Josephine says:

Wow. She’s earned it, might as well show it off! I like that she looks healthy and strong, although the slightly softer version was great, too.

  12. QQ says:

Man oh man She looks crazy good

    • Kitten says:

OT but QQ I think you’re the one that told me about Glamglow. Thanks because I love that sh*t.

Now back on topic: J Lo looks PHENOMENAL. This is what I aspire to. I love athletic, strong-looking body types and yes, I’m gonna hit the gym HARD after work today. 45 years old…jaysus.

      • QQ says:

OMG Ok?!? my current jams?: Philosophy on a Clear day set (that or murad!) , Boscia charcoal and once a month the Ole Henriksen Minipeel…Im also doing the smashbox cc cream which now does come in brown girl shades To help face the hyperpigment scars!! im loving this situation!

      • Tiffany :) says:

I just looked up GlamGlow…it looks like they have a gift set at Sephora that is the same price as the regular size ($69), but it contains a full size of the THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment and two smaller containers of SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment and YOUTHMUD Tinglexfoliate Treatment. I am very tempted, especially if recommended by you ladies!

I have had the SKII face mask in my Sephora cart for weeks now. It sounds lovely, but at $135, I’d hate to get it and not love it.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

        Tiffany 🙂
It’s probably too late for you to read this, and I’ve never tried the face mask, but I’ve been using SKII cleanser, toner, essential liquid or something like that and moisturizer, and I’m really impressed. I have fair skin, and since I’ve gotten older, my skin tone had gotten sort of uneven and I had two small broken blood vessels and a small scar on my chin from childhood. It totally evened out my skin tone and you can no longer see the blood vessels and the scar is much less noticible. This is after three weeks. So I’m not sure what you want it to do, but if you want a more even skin tone, it’s very good.

P.S. I didn’t mean to make that smiley face.

      • FLORC says:

CC and BB and such creams are all the same. Nothing really makes 1 better than the other in a double blind study as well as consumer reviews.
I use to be a sephora junkie until I needed to save.
Vitamins and exfoliating is pretty much all most need. With that said I love simple sugars. It was on shark tank a year ago or so. My skin is evenly toned and break outs reduced from exfoliating. Highly recomment you try!

  13. Hissyfit says:

Her abs looks great and she’s trying to show it off. Lol.

As for Casper, I think they are back together too, but doesn’t want to be called a fool by public. We all know how this girl can’t live a day without a boy toy.

  14. We are all made of stars says:

Dangit, being told you’re guitar shaped in the Spanish speaking world is a great compliment. It kinda makes me roll my eyes in dismay that a longtime emblem of body diversity in Hollywood has decided to move away from that which made her so famous and a standout to start with. Maybe everything was getting soft as the years ticked by? Oh well good for her if she’s happy. She looks great. Wonder if the being vegan to lose lots of weight thing makes vegans angry.

    • Esmom says:

I don’t know if the vegans were angry but I think some — and people here — were rolling their eyes at least. Reminds me of the discussion yesterday about gluten-free as a fad diet for some and a necessity for others.

      • FLORC says:

To go into a diet like that isn’t terrible. It’s not great when people should be adopted a healthier way of approaching food. Make smarter choices. Don’t cut out based on the dietary needs of someone with an illness to foods.

When that vegan blogger admitted she ate the way she ate to hide her eating disorder many vegans did get mad. I think that was based on principle. Still, many people have adopted the vegan and gluten free lifestyle as a more socially acceptable way of refusing food. And to appear thin while doing so, but having a socially accepted reason for looking thin. Not that they’re so thin because they simply don’t eat.

I do appreiate JLo admitting she went vegan to lose weight. It was her main goal and reason. Many people go on diets for 1 reason. To lose weight. Yet many will still claim it’s for better skin, hair, etc… The main attraction was to lose weight. Just like that darn raw food craze not long ago. Yes, their bodies will be healthier, but they were drawn to the weight loss factor first.

  15. Esmom says:

She looks fit and strong, as someone said above. I have to say I am near her age and have learned in the last decade that all the crunches in the world won’t do nearly as much for your abs and core as pushups, planks and even the dreaded burpee will. Plus they work other parts, too, so they’re efficient. 🙂

    • sienna says:

So true Esmom, those exercises are so efficient. I’ve started planking for 5 continuous minutes a day (different poses for 30 seconds to 1 min each) , makes a huge difference.

      • FLORC says:

5 minute planks are not someone you start off doing. Unless that’s not what you meant. When I started planking it was 30 seconds and you feel weak.

  16. Tiffany27 says:

I wish I had the dedication and drive it takes to have that kind of body.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Me, too. But don’t forget, dancing is a big part of her life. I mean, she HAS to exercise hours every day, while we have to squeeze in the time…trails off…

  17. starrywonder says:

She should pass her trainer on to Ben Affleck (yes I am a jerk today).

Also girl leave Caspar alone. You are better than him! He’s not worth it. I don’t care if he has a huge peen and practically lives in your v when he’s down there. Kick him.

    • Someonestolemyname says:

But she’s not better than HIm, because that’s the level she seeks out.
JLO is stunning but she is not one to admire in her relationships choices. IMO

JLO seeks out her level romantically, that’s what she likes, a lot of turmoil, drama, messiness and Lord knows what else Casper is up to.
JLO likes what ever Casper is putting out.

  18. Lola says:

Let’s be blunt. I just read the headline and not the article … yup… BUT, if we all had the money to pay for chefs, to pay for the “in” trend at the gym … would we not all look like her? I would applaud a regular Jane with that body, that cooks her meals and sacrifices (wakes up early, ect) to get that body.

    • Petee says:

I think if all of us had chefs and trainers we still wouldn’t look as good as her.She has always been a hard worker and know for being very disciplined. It’s not just her body but she has beautiful skin and face. You can tell she really works at it.I do know people that get up early, workout and eat healthy and they don’t look a thing like her.

    • Kitten says:

Lola-I agree that all those things help. A LOT. But Petee’s right that you still have to have the dedication and work ethic. J Lo makes time for it. She values being in shape and not every person has this same attitude, regardless of wealth and resources.

    • RJ says:

      Ask Oprah that question.

  19. Lindy79 says:

Whatever you say about her talent level, my guess is she works damn hard in the gym for that body so well done and fair play to her for it.

  20. Eleonor says:

To me it was hilarious the Celebitchy HP: JLO amazing abs near to Ben Affleck body double news 😀

  21. TheCountess says:

She may not always be my cuppa but damn if she isn’t slammingly gorgeous.

  22. OhDear says:

    Dang, yo.

[Insert obligatory Dorian Gray reference here.]

  23. angela says:

    Yes, definitely inspirational.

  24. may23 says:

Any ideas where are her tank top and sports bra from?

  25. Laura says:

She’s like benjamin button… she just keeps looking better.

  26. Josefa says:

I’m less than half her age and I wish I looked like that.

  27. Sayrah says:

She looks amazing not just for 45 but for any age! It’s such a shame that her picker is broken and she’s wasting that body on such a douche.

  28. nikzilla says:

Geez, what a personal trainer and nutritionist can do…

  29. Cupcake says:

Absolutely stunning!! She works hard to keep her Hollywood-appropriate body – good for her!!

  30. Mltpsych says:

I agree genetics plays a huge part. I have been blessed with genetics that have me looking always 10 years younger than my actual age. Olive skin helps too.

  31. maddelina says:

This is the result of diet and consistency in working out. She looks great!

  32. nubiahbella says:

I thought it was Gillian Michaels lol!

  33. PixieWitch says:

She looks amazing. she looks better now than she did 15 years ago. or at least the same. Also, it is so nice to a woman that has NORMAL breasts. not huge fake, disgusting ones…Thank you JLO for keeping your boobs real.

  34. Chris says:

Just goes to show that age is no excuse for being out of shape. On the other hand she obviously puts a lot of time and effort into looking that which is understandable because she’s in show business, but for the average person you’d think at 45 you’d realize there’s more to life than looking “hot”.

  35. sam says:

More than anything about JLo or her body, what’s bothering me in this post is the use of “h8r” Can we just not do that in the future?

  36. HoustonGrl says:

    Good God.

  37. Isabelle says:

Whatever, they’re not that impressive 😉 My flabby tummy is the new fad, I see women all the time trying to attain my abs. All joking aside, she looks great!!!!!

  38. Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

A no excercise ‘excercise’ that will give you abs – invest in a good back pack -wide straps, quilted back and carry it around instead of a purse – use when grocery shopping as much as possible. Also shoes with good grip ie vibram sole and ankle support for the weight and so arches don’t go flat & helps the back as well. This works the abs and you can still keep the curves because they look good and don’t have to excercise them away – JLo was clever in this as she does not have that gristled look that Madonna had from losing too much fat.

  39. K.A says:

She looks great and I would never, ever take that away from her. She worked hard for her body, every day. J.Lo and Beyoncé both have the kind of body like mine: Just the whiff of a cheeseburger adds a pound. So they work tirelessly to keep the fat off and keep the abs tight. The difference between those women and the rest of us is that J.Lo and Beyoncé’s bodies are their livelihoods. Their thing in life is being tight and in shape. If my livelihood depended on tight abs, you best believe I would be hitting the gym for 3 hours a day. Now, if this was a picture of a mother of two who works a full-time office job and still had tight ass abs, then, yes I would feel bad. You can’t compare yourself to someone whose survival depends on the tightness of their body.

  40. Denise says:

Yeah, I guess I can see why she’d call the paps to catch her ‘spontaneously’ taking her shirt off on the street.

  41. LAK says:

    Yes. Aspirational and inspirational!!!!
