Beyonce posts Louvre photos on her Tumblr, she posed with the Mona Lisa

bey6

Last week, we talked about the photos of Beyonce, Jay-Z and Blue Ivy in Paris, as they were heading into the Louvre. Beyonce wore six-inch platform heels and leather pants, which are quite the styling choices for sight-seeing. I questioned, at the time, if Blue was really old enough to appreciate a museum like the Louvre. It’s not that toddlers can’t or shouldn’t be exposed to art and all that, but I just thought Blue specifically was too young to enjoy the Louvre specifically.

Well, Beyonce posted some photos from their trip on her Tumblr – you can see the whole photo spread here. I kind of predicted it – Blue was much more interested in the floor and the floor vents than any of the art. To be fair, she wasn’t throwing a tantrum or anything (she seems very well-behaved), but it’s that classic kid thing: you can buy them the most expensive toy in the world and they’ll play with the box it came in for hours. Take Blue Ivy to the Louvre and she’s going to be enchanted by the floor vents.

Posing for selfies in front of the Mona Lisa? Sigh… I do wonder if Beyonce and Jay are just regular old gauche Americans like the rest of us.

Ugh. There’s nothing worse than tourists doing ridiculous poses in front of art pieces. Is she going to pretend to lean on the Tower of Pisa next?

    • BangersandMash says:

I think it’s more the fact that from the face pose, and all of that, Beyonce thinks she is just as (if not more) iconic than the painting of the Mona Lisa.

      • S says:

And if they were only spotted shopping and partying during their trip, someone would chime in and be like “But what about all of the museums? Obviously they have no respect for history and don’t care about teaching Blue Ivy an appreciation for the fine arts. You can never start them too young!”

Good for them bring her, no matter what her age. Museums are fun.

ETA: Meant to add this comment to the Melita’s thread right below me! Sorry!

      • AntiSocialButterfly says:

This is clearly it. What a delusional woman. I’m surprised there was room for her husband in the photo with her. He certainly looks to be enjoying her hijinks.

There’s nothing wrong with bringing a toddler to a museum, as long as you are being a dutiful parent and museum goer.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Can you really assume that Beyoncé is elevating herself above Mona Lisa? The majority of photos I have seen of people in front of Mona Lisa are mimicking her half-smile. B seems pretty typical in that regard.

Sometimes I think people just like to assume the worst about Beyoncé. I don’t get it.

      • Lia says:

She’s trying to look like the woman in the painting. EPIC FAIL.

      • allheavens says:

So guess I’m just another classless, tacky, anti-intellectual, ugly American for taking a photo of myself in the Galerie des Glaces at Versailles.

The nerve of me, I didn’t know historical artifacts and art were only for people like AntiSocialButterfly, Lia and Mina.

Please, please forgive me, what can I do to make it better, kiss the hem of your garments?

    • Melita says:

The most pretentious thing in the world is to judge someone at a museum. It’s really silly, and mostly comes from those who are pretty insecure themselves.
Also, maybe Blue cannot appreciate the Louvre at this age, but I guarantee she will appreciate that her parents brought her there when she is older and understands.

Ugh. What a bunch of joyless windbags you all sound like.

      • Cat Lady says:

        LOL. Well said Melita.

      • Mina says:

        Beyonce, is that you?

It’s a museum, not the mall. The least a visitor can do is respect the objects there. As someone who has worked in a museum, people can take as many pretentious selfies as they like, I don’t care. It doesn’t make it any less tacky, tough. It’s not exactly helping the reputation of Americans in Europe…

      • Nellie says:

        THIS 100%
Why would anyone be so put off at them enjoying a visit to the museum with their daughter. Blue seems well behaved and maybe they want to expose her to the Arts from a young age. Beyonce footwear is a little over the top but it’s her prerogative to dress as she wants. It’s not like she is exposing herself indecently.
In this day and age of sharing photos on social media I find these pictures endearing.

      • TX says:

Melita YES..the wonderful thing about art, to me, is it can be enjoyed by everyone in different ways. As long as they are not hurting the art by interacting with it (which they are not) I feel like anything is fair game and should not be judged.

      • Olenna says:

@Melita, ITA. Doesn’t matter what these two do, some folks are going to criticize. I guess I’m just as crass for having my pic taken in front of ancient statues (art!) or some similar sh*t when I traveled in Europe. My family sure enjoyed the photos, though.

      • shunty says:

@S, spot on. Everything you said. I never thought I’d say this but the Beyoncé hating have become corny. Its crazy really. The other day, a very adorable photo of Blue was photoshopped to make her nose, ears and lips bigger with the ‘ when your mother is beyonce but your dad’s genes hit you hard. Lol’ just for a couple more retweets

      • claire says:

        HaHa. Love your post. 🙂

      • Melita says:

        @S well said.

      • Lilo says:

From the looks of it they had it closed off the public. Usually, you could NEVER get that close to the Mona Lisa, the room is packed. So, I’m judging.

      • MCraw says:

Thank you Melita! I say it all the time- for all the women who proclaim to be feminist on this site, the ones we should be rooting for never win in the comments. Everything B does is criticized to infinity by all these angry people. She isn’t hurting anyone and isn’t a Kardashian- what’s the problem? But then get mad when you call em h8erz and can’t come up with a legitimate reason for the hate. Corny crazy women.

      • Grumpycat says:

Ugh @mina you are intending to elevate yourself above Americans by saying this, but in fact you look so ignorant for generalizing. If you really know so much about European museums then you know that there are plenty of people from around the world that do this. It is not an American thing.
Secondly, it’s just out of touch to take this elitist attitude about art. In the world we now live in with access to so many evolving interpretations of art across the world, and the struggle to gain mindshare because of Internet information overload, there is the potential for the appreciation of old european masters to die off with future generations. This again is a global issue, not just American. For you to dictate very narrowly how people should enjoy this art, is not just absurd, but it is dangerous to it’s future.
While I can’t stand Beyonce, I am glad they are making this art seem accessible to younger people and they have the network to get it out there broadly.

      • Ashley says:

It wasn’t closed off to the public during normal hours. They had a private tour after closing

      • Dawn says:

Boy do I ever agree! Everyone I know has at least tried to take a picture with the Mona Lisa…just because of the mystery behind it. I think these are absolutely lovely pictures of the Carters and see nothing wrong with it. And I am not really that big of a fan of either. It just seems like a human thing to do!

      • The Wizz says:

Agree. And just because Blue is young doesn’t mean that Jay and Bey should have to miss out on seeing it does it? God I don’t even like these two and I’m defending them!

    • Melita says:

Hijinks?? Mall?? I get that you don’t like Bryonce, however, that is her face. To imagine that she is somehow trying to one-up the Mona Lisa is absolutely absurd. You should have a nap, something is off with you.

    • snowflake says:

      @ mina
well, maybe us tacky American tourists should not visit your precious museums and let you support the museums and keep them open. what is wrong with taking pictures of your vacation?

  2. Pumpkin Pie says:

Was Louvre open only for them? It is usually crammed.
And those pics where she poses like the art piece, so tacky. Not just her, anyone. I can’t stand it when people do that.

    • Kitten says:

That’s the first thing I thought.
The Mona Lisa is almost IMPOSSIBLE to see because of the crowds. They definitely closed the museum for them. Lucky…

      • Ashley says:

They had an after hours private tour. It costs about $16, 000.

      • FLORC says:

And how much would it cost to live there for a week. That’s a dream of mine. I’ll have the whole place to myself for a week. So I can see all the art and not be ashamed when I sob at the beauty. And to take it all in at my leisure

They can pose. It’s fine. And what girl didn’t stand on a vent wearing a dress. It was neat!

    • Sabrine says:

They can pose however they like, their deal, not mine. Time to lighten up, folks….It’s nothing to do with whether Blue Ivy is enjoying the art work. What matters is that she’s with her parents and not left behind with nannies in a hotel room. She does seem to be a very well behaved little girl.

Years ago we went with our son to the Louvre and he got a kick out of the vents too. They puffed out his t-shirt all around him…..this brought back memories.

      • Melita says:

        Sabrine! This. Thank you.

      • grace says:

Yeah, it’s great that they appreciate art. But did they shut down the Louvre? Where are the rest of the visitors? To me, that’s beyond tacky and ridiculous.

      • magpie says:

What Sabrine said. Blue Ivy may be too young to appreciate the art, but at least she’s enjoying time with her parents.

      • JenniferJustice says:

Ha! I thought her dress was shaped like that – bell-shaped with a ton of crenalin and I thought it was really cute. Glad to know it’s vents. Feeling stupid but more informed at the same time.

      • Lady D says:

The Daily Mail said they went on a Tuesday which is when the museum is closed to the public but does offer private tours. Beyonce paid the wages for the 20-25 staff that were brought in for her visit.

    • TX says:

I think they just went after-hours, as opposed to having it shut down for them (Its dark outside based on the pics). I actually had a similar experience at the Louvre once. A friend and I slipped in about an hour before close, and we had the place to ourselves. We never saw anyone else! It was pretty spectacular.

      • Sunny says:

That sounds amazing! The best time to go is right before closing. 🙂

I don’t mind the pictures but it always strikes me as pretentious when people take pictures of themselves at galleries and museums and post them. It feels all, “Look at me appreciating culture”. Kind of like the people who show off ‘I voted stickers’, or blood donor stickers.

    • Ellen says:

There’s no way this wasn’t a private tour. Or, ok, I suppose security could have closed individual wings for them as the moved around. But absolutely they were given private access to the galleries.

    • Rae says:

I certainly hope they went after hours instead of shutting out the regular nobodies who waited in line for hours to get in. The museum usually closes at 5pm if I remember correctly, so that seems probably.

    • Mel M says:

My first thoughts too. I would’ve been so mad though if I had planned to spend the day there and they closed it for them.

    • DCJ says:

I thought you weren’t supposed to photograph the Mona Lisa.

      • TX says:

Yes you can. They have protective glass over it so you can take photos.

      • Rae says:

I have abut two dozens photos of the Mona Lisa because I managed to worm my way up to the front from the back of the room, through a frenzy of people, and I was not going to waste that opportunity. Of course, once I got up there, I could literally feel over a hundred people at my back, sucking me down like an undertow. Security had to open the security line to let me out. Madness!!

    • RobN says:

They give private tours on their regular closed day. Anybody willing to pay for it can do it.

    • thecookingpan says:

      +10 million – this….

    • Jessica says:

Right. I’ve been to the Lourve a dozen or so times and not once have I managed to actually look at the Mona Lisa, I’ve just seen the crowd around the thing.

I’ll add a private tour to my list of things I’ll do if I win the lottery.

    • Maria says:

16,000 to have a private tour of the Louvre without the crowds. Damn, I hate being broke. I do hope they appreciate how bloody lucky they are.

  3. Kiddo says:

I wish the 4th photo didn’t have the parents in it. That dress, the movement and her position with the background of art would have been nearly a perfect composition. I love THAT dress and her hair.

    • doofus says:

      what you said.

the pics of Blue over the vent are so dang cute. I remember that discovery myself…

  4. amp122076 says:

    Jay looks so thin.

  5. tifzlan says:

    1) That isn’t a selfie.

    2) I was wondering why Blue was wearing a balloon until i realised she was standing on top of an air vent.

    3) I don’t like Beyonce but this article is ridiculous. Everyone who goes to the Louvre takes a picture with the Mona Lisa – American or not! That’s what i did too, except they got much, much closer to the painting than I was allowed to.

    • Calcifer says:

@tifzlan I am sorry, no, I don’t take selfies with famous works of art… I don’t get it. To show that you’ve been there? That seems beside the point to me. Works of art are there to look at, intently, if they appeal to you (and not just because they are famous). If a work of art is very hard to get close to, as the Mona Lisa is, I usually find it so frustrating that I would rather skip it. But having said that last thing, I admit that maybe I’m spoiled because I have always lived in Europe, where there is so much beautiful art.

      • tifzlan says:

Again, that’s not a selfie. And i didn’t take a selfie with the Mona Lisa either – my mom took a picture of me with Mona in the background. When one flies halfway across the world to visit a world-renowned art museum with one of the most famous paintings in history displayed inside it, then yeah, i don’t think it’s that big of a deal to take a picture with it. Glad you grew up in Europe and can visit art museums whenever you desire. Not all of us are so privileged.

      • Calcifer says:

@tifzlan I guess your are right, I am privileged to live in Europe and to have access to so much art. If you have a chance, do come to Amsterdam, we have a few great museums, The Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum among them.
My point is though that many people – and I am not assuming you are one of them – these days seem to be more occupied with how others see THEM (on Facebook and Instagram) than with all the beautiful things they could enjoy seeing around them, if they weren’t so busy taking selfies/being photographed. It’s living ‘from the outside in’ if you get my point (I’m not a native speaker). Jay-Z and Beyonce are a good example of that mentality in my opinion.

      • snowflake says:

to have pictures to look at of your vacation? to show Blue Ivy of the time mom and went with her to paris? oh hell, no, can’t have that. what horrible parents!

      • Maria says:

Where are you, tifzlan? If you’re in the States, we do have some really good museums here: the Met in NY among several, Boston has more than one, DC has the National Gallery, which has the only da Vinci painting in the western hemisphere, Chicago has the great Seurat painting that everyone knows from sight.
I do hope you can find ways to go and lose yourself in the wonders of art.

      • Dolce crema says:

Yes! Voila. Well said calcify! They are not alone in their actions by far but still

  6. Ritu says:

Did they have to floor emptied? I mean, it’s always full of people, specially in front of the Mona Lisa.

    • bammer says:

      It was a private showing.

    • Size Does Matter says:

I was wondering the same. When I’ve been to the Louvre, no way could you get a selfie in front of the Mona Lisa without fifteen or twenty strangers in there with you.

  7. betha says:

The use of light/flashing light against these precious photos are generally outlawed. I hope that Yawncee had the decency to shoot these photos without light. I hope she understands the level of her privileged access and accepted it with the respect to these great works of art that they deserve.

Then again, if she did, we would not have these selfless. Oh well.

    • AG-UK says:

Exactly they usually never allow photos in any museums at least not in any I have been to and have been there as well.

    • Ellen says:

We were there in 2011 and the flashes were going off continuously. No one knows how to turn off the flash on their cameras, apparently, and with the crowds, it was awful.

My guess is that B&J have professional photographers who don’t need flash because they’re using equipment for shooting at low light.

  8. Chris2 says:

I have very similar photos of me and my brother in the Louvre in 1969…..striking poses next to Egyptian statues, posing as the Mona Lisa ( where tons of people were trying to take proto-selfies) Best pic is my mother in her Mia Farrow crop wig, next to an Egyptian deity with the same hairdo.
We were a very cultured middle class family well used to museums, but fun was also our bag.

    • Monie says:

Nope, nope, Beyonce was the first to do such a terribly narcissistic thing and we MUST hate her for it! :-/

      • Tdub30 says:

Lol….too true. Such a heinous American with her ridiculous narcissistic selfies…insert MASSIVE eyeroll here. I mean jeez, they’re a family out enjoying beautiful art and having fun. Nothing to see here folks 😒

    • snowflake says:

well, obviously, you guys weren’t as snobby, i mean, as cultured as some of the posters on here.

  9. AlmondJoy says:

Great pics! Im sure you guys will hate them though, lol.

Also, morning Celebitches! 👋 this school year has been VERY busy for me, so I haven’t been able to post as much. I miss you all very much 😊 Just wanted to say hi! 😘

    • bns says:

“Im sure you guys will hate them though, lol.”

Right? I swear I’m not even a huge Beyonce fan, but the hate that she insights here makes me want to defend her. There is nothing wrong with these pictures.

      • QQ says:

Ditto BNS!! I have never been into her music (except this last cd… nothing wrong with her voice or talent just not into it!) or her stun queen antics but i find myself here having to cape for the chick on the GP that people are bitching just to bitch… When there is nothing to… I mean she is no more or less entitled or charitable or bright than most celebs but the vitriol is just LULZ! I choose to focus on Party Jay-Z Anthems, on the fact that she is very cute and That adorable ass baby and that’s all Ive got for the Carters

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I agree. I’m not a huge fan or anything, but people are just ridiculous. She posts pictures of her baby, so she’s a narcissist? Then my Facebook page is filled with narcissists. She can do no right on here.

      • AlmondJoy says:

Bns and QQ: I’m a Bey fan but not a stan, lol. There’s much one could criticize her for, but I don’t see why people jump on every little thing she does. It’s exhausting.

      • OhDear says:

Yeah, I don’t understand the degree of hate that she gets, either. To me, she’s an accomplished entertainer and businesswoman.

    • Chris2 says:

      Hello Almondjoy!
You’ve been missed, lovely to see you again.
      🙂

      • AlmondJoy says:

Chris: I see you had to add a 2 to your name! Great to see you as well! I hope all is well with you. Have a lovely day! 😘

    • FingerBinger says:

The pictures are OK. My problem with these pictures is that I think the museum or that part of the museum was closed just for them. I’d be angry if I was a tourist and that was the only time I could go to the Louvre but it was closed for some celeb to take pictures.

      • AlmondJoy says:

Finger, good point! I can definitely see that being an issue, quite unfair for the people that planned to be there that day. Even so, I don’t think she could enjoy the museum without it being shut down… she’s a huge star. I’m sure other celebs do the same. It def sucks though.

      • Mixtape says:

They are not permitted on a private tour for their own benefit (although they certainly do benefit from it), but for the benefit of all those tourists you mention. If the Carters were there in the middle of a crowded day, it would cause mass chaos and really ruin the moment for those, as you said, who only had that one chance to be there and experience the Louvre.

      • Dolce crema says:

        It was probably at night!:)

      • Tiffany :) says:

They were there on a day that the museum is typically closed. They paid to have 25 staff members open it up when it would otherwise not be open. No tourists were harmed in the making of this photo op.

      • K says:

They actually paid 16.000 for a private showing on a day the museum is usually closed. Think about it – if they had gone during regular hours it would have been absolute mayhem.

Hey, if I could afford to I would do it too – instead of struggling to even get a glimpse of the art work I’d been dying to see.

    • Kiddo says:

Good luck in school, as teacher or student? Don’t hate the photos at all, but like the candid shots of the baby and her dress best.

      • AlmondJoy says:

Thanks, Kiddo! I need all the well wishes I can get! I’m the Director of a before and after care program at an elementary school. This year is the first year that we’ve had a very large number of children with special needs. It’s been quite challenging but tons of fun. These kids constantly put a smile on my face. It’s just taking a while to get to know each of them, their likes and dislikes, the times they take medicine etc. I’ve been taking more classes and just continuing to educate myself so that I can appeal to their needs. Thanks for asking! 😊

      • Kiddo says:

        Your plate is FULL. Whoo.

      • Tiffany :) says:

I’m so glad you popped in to say hello, Almond Joy! Your work sounds very challenging, but I am so glad that we have people like you working hard for kids’ best interests!

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      Hello, AlmondJoy! Miss you.

  10. Someonestolemyname says:

    Love it.
I did almost the same thing at the Louvre.

  11. Eleonor says:

My theory: probably they paid a lot of money to have a night access, or similar. If I was a superstar like them I’ll do the same.
The only thing I really like about this two is their interest for arts and museums, I don’t care if it’s pr or not, at least we have two celebrities who do not only go out for shopping.
For the record: I loathe those hats. That’s a lady of 500 years. Show some respect.

  12. nora says:

I see that Mr. and Mrs. Carter had the room to themselves during their visit as they normally 100 people in this room and you do not manage to see the Mona Lisa as well the picture is not so great that we think , and I do not understand why there is not the protective glass ( YES I AM JALOUSE treatment for the stars )

    • Chris2 says:

You can see the bulletproof glass in thr pic of Jay with Blue Ivy.
As an ex-gallery admin person I’d say private views for major slebs is the only sensible option……otherwise the mêlée of fans and miraculously-appearing media bods is a huge nightmare for both security and of course other visitors.
(It also guarantees a generous financial benefaction as a thankyou, which all galleries need)

    • L says:

They Paid for it; if you 16k for it, go ahead they will give you a private tour too.

  13. db says:

Annoying. The Louvre doesn’t want lights of any kind flashing or shining on priceless works of art.

  14. slayerformayor says:

The smug face runs strong in these two. They are Mona Lisa posers. It’s totally different than getting your silly jam on with the fam. These two actually POSED, trying to look all badass styles with the Mona freakin Lisa. Am I the only one who senses the ridiculousness of this photo? Hope good ol Mona gave these two dregs the full on side eye. Now I’ve got the pouts.

    • Dani2 says:

Maybe they’re just having some fun? I mean, haven’t you ever taken a silly mock-serious photo somewhere? Lol I don’t see how people are taking these photos so seriously lol.

      • slayerformayor says:

I take ridiculous photos all the time, but what does that have to do with the obnoxious smug face narcissism on full display in this photo? There is nothing genuinely fun or silly here. All there is is look at me me me! I up n got important! Blah blech…

      • Dani2 says:

@slayer Okay hun, I’m sorry, I hope they issue you a personal apology.

      • slayerformayor says:

Me too Dani! That’d be wicked awesome of them, non? Pretty sure they’re not the apologizing types though…lol

I wasn’t trying to attack ya btw…I just sound bratty via text etc sometimes…

DAMN that apology would kick some ass!

      • Tiffany :) says:

Um, I think what you call “obnoxious smug face narcissism” is them simply doing their own impressions of Mona’s faint smile. The same thing many people do when taking a photo in front of ML. Its like throwing the goat at a rock concert, it is just a silly thing people do. Taking it so seriously is wasted energy.

    • Chris2 says:

Chacun à son goût, as they say.
I think the Mona Lisa/JayBey pic is smashing!
      🙂
Edit: check out another pic where they recreate the pose of Cupid and Psyche…..I bet that made Blue I giggle, and she’ll never forget it.

    • Tdub30 says:

Ummmm. All I see is them doing the Mona Lisa face but whatever

      • Chris2 says:

        Exactly!
Sheesh, how hard is it to see she’s going for the ML ‘enigmatic smile’? (And doing it a damn sight better than I did!)

    • TheOneandOnlyOnly says:

The Mona Lisa is iconic – these two are just junky pop stars cranking out disposable music to their tin ear fans. I’ll bet someone had to explain to her who Leonardo Da Vinci was, she wouldn’t research it on her own.

  15. whatsmyname? says:

She looks very pretty in the top photo, and Blue is adorable.

  16. Dany says:

ohh these floor vents in the Louvre. That was one warm wind and an embarrassing Marylin-moment 😉

  17. Dana says:

She sure does love her photoshop.

  18. kaligula says:

That is a really cool picture of them in front of the ML.

Still I just don’t get a mom-vibe from Beyonce…. I will never believe that is really her child.

Jay on the other hand clearly adores his daughter and I am jealous because I bet he is a great dad. Wish he was my dad.

  19. Jaderu says:

Yo Beyonce, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but my wife had one of the best mona lisa poses of all time. One of the best mona lisa poses of all time!

    http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l8woy3Envi1qcytq7.jpg

*Elton John sings Circle of Life*

  20. trxhunt says:

They are so trashy, why can’t they keep anything to themselves? Nobody wants to see you posing in front of anything! I used to like Bey in her prime, her music was so much fun. Now they are just some old boring couple to me, I really think J dragged her down, her music and general attitude are so annoying nowadays. He pimped her real good!

    • shunty says:

Yes I want to see them posing in front of the mona Lisa. Honestly I don’t want to meet some of you off this site. So much hate for just pictures?

      • Melita says:

@shunty, I totally agree. These kids seem furious that anyone…nay, Beyonce, had her picture taken at the Louvre.

  21. Anastasia says:

So they have a professional photographer with them?

    • slayerformayor says:

I just had that same thought as well Anastasia. How blechish can they get?

    • lucy2 says:

Always, I think. Every moment of their lives seems to be documented and shared. It’s kind of odd. Really odd.

I have no issue with them taking a photo in front of the Mona Lisa, so long as they followed the rules and didn’t use a flash. Almost everyone who goes there does, which is why it’s always insanely crowded and difficult to see – take your photo and move on! They were fortunate enough to get private access. What I don’t get is the need to publish all these photos for the world to see.

      • shunty says:

Anastasia, Slayerformayor, lucy2, no there was no professional photographer. From the post on the other day, you could clearly see Beyoncé had the camera and was walking behind while jay, blue and julius (the bodyguard they said she was banging and then fired(obviously not true )were in front. So julius probably took those pictures Bey didn’t take. Let’s save it for when she does something stupid which she’ll do soon by the way
OT but who saw that video of a tourist who asked who julius was and had jayz snap at him?

      • Anastasia says:

Shunty, ok it doesn’t matter to me if it was a pro or a bodyguard. I just can’t imagine having someone with me all the time to take pictures.

  22. kibbles says:

She always has to have pics of herself photoshopped. I realize she has lost weight but that pic with the Mona Lisa looks photoshopped as if her face was made to appear smaller and more youthful. They seem to think everything needs to be closed down for them at the inconvenience of others. Just like with their hospital visit to deliver Blue.

    • shunty says:

Kibbles, I’m guessing you were going to write a compliment on how good she looks in that photo and then it got stuck in your throat/hands and then what the hell, it’s probably photoshop that makes her look that good. Meanwhile her face looks small like solange’s and quite youthful without much makeup.
“They seem to think everything needs to be closed down for them at the inconvenience of others. ” celebs do that all the time for example brangelina when their child was born in Namibia.
So yeah, you’re just hating. I won’t even put the ‘and I’m not even a fan’ you see when people defend Beyoncé. I am a big stan

    • Shahrizai says:

I noticed her face doesn’t look the same as in other photos, too. She’s a beautiful woman, but that doesn’t look like the same face we normally see. Maybe it’s the angle?

      • kibbles says:

I think it is Photoshopped. I’m reminded of Michael Jackson when I look at her features. I’m not sure if she has messed with her face because it could just be the Photoshop.

  23. Jaquebelle says:

Wow!!! Mother’s celebrate first, second, third birthdays knowing full well their child will likely have no memory of this. Parents take young children places and expose them to experiences that are generally more memorable for the adults. This did not begin and end with Beyonce!!! I generally don’t stan for Beyonce, but to hate so deeply for something almost every parent does is pathological. I’m not mad at them for arranging a private art museum visit. If my ends were meeting on this level, I would too lol!!! Bypassing rude visitors hogging exhibits would seem heavenly. And of course I would capture mad images in the process. Many celebrities have done this, sans all the hatred. Blue Ivy seems comfortable in the presence of her parents and their love for her shines through. Not a Beyonce stan by any stretch of the imagination and have been critical of her on many levels, but this does not rise to the level of such hatred. One love.

  24. captain hero says:

They went to the Louvre dressed like that? I guess money doesn’t buy class.

    • Tdub30 says:

I’m simple. Could you please explain what’s “classless” about what they’re wearing. Real question.

    • shunty says:

Like my friend would say, Is it your louvre? Is it your ‘clothes’? What’s wrong with their outfit. If they had worn something else you would have pointed out how they think it was a red carpet event. FFS, can they live?

      • Chris2 says:

This harping on about class, and about Bey’s (in)eligibility as a Louvre visititor (on a previous thread) is extremely distasteful.

Whenever there’s a post about the British royal family, it’s deluged with proud Americans speaking of their (by contrast) equal society, free from such class distinctions as we apparently endure in Britain.
Well, live up to that claim, and at least live and let live, rather than snootily dismissing JayBey as members of some irredeemable underclass who have no right to enjoy great masterpieces.
Sorry to rant on, but it’s astonishing to see this snobbery up close.

      • captain hero says:

@ shunty, I can tell by the way you speak that you are still a young teenager so I’m not going to argue with you. Stay in school!
@ Chris2 this has nothing to do with Americans vs Brits and for the record I’m neither. This has everything to do with wearing trashy street clothes to a museum of fine art.

      • Chris2 says:

        Captain Hero
I wasn’t addressing you or anyone else specifically..,..just the general tenor of this and the previous Louvre thread, in which JayBey’s compatriots give out about lack of necessary ‘class’.
I mention Britain only as a context for my comment about the strong message about social equality many American CBers give here, and with good reason. That’s why I am shocked.

    • Tdub30 says:

      Lol…so sad

That’s for the uber classy captain hero

      • captain hero says:

@Chris2 that’s fair enough, I didn’t see the other thread. I don’t see what this has to do with equality though, they have as much right to be there as anyone else. I was raised to understand that it is a sign of respect to dress appropriately when going certain places, doing certain things. I mean, if someone showed up to your wedding wearing jeans that would be incredibly inappropriate and disrespectful. I feel the same way about this. I’ve seen these guys dress better when they’re picking up take away. So t-shirts, silver puffy jackets and hats on inside? No way!

      • Chris2 says:

        Captain Hero
I’m probably over-reacting anyway, because I know too well how many people feel they will not be welcome in an art gallery, that it’s only for the toffs and so on. There certainly isn’t a dress code, so I’m happy to see Jay and Bey dressed so comfortably…..it sends a message about inclusive access. You’d be amazed hoe hard it is to convince people that everyone is welcome in grand public museums and that they are not hushed and solemn spaces unfit for the unscholarly.
So by ‘equality’, I’m banging on about not barring access to chunks of the population, which seems to be acceptable to one or two here.
But feckit…..too serious, sorry. I really enjoyed the pics, that’s enough!

  25. tekla says:

You think they got the Louvre closed for the day? There are usually crowds there, and in the pictures those three are alone

    • Lilacflowers says:

Probably a night visit and definitely private. There are no other people in those pictures, not even in the next galleries visible through the doorways and there is no way you get one clear shot of the Mona Lisa or the Venus or the Winged Victory without other people in the frames, never mind multiple shots of all of them.

  26. Halah says:

Looks like after hours, definitely private – and as much as we want to complain about that… Imagine the ish-show it would have been if they tried to go during regular hours, people would have probably run into paintings, knocking over statues etc just to get to Beyonce!

  27. Lisa says:

I much prefer a selfie in front of art compared to when stars post their ass or boobs.

  28. Chris2 says:

I’m remembering giving an impromptu tour of ‘my’ gallery to a biiiig Hollywood star in the middle of a busy day, and it was mayhem. Not so much because of excited visitors, but the staff! The whole crew in the restaurant downed tools and swarmed after us, with diners helping themselves to wine or walking out without paying, and office staff just abandoned their desks and a laptop was nicked by a very on the ball chancer, and the gallery shop too was left unattended and predictably locusted of valuable books. Blimey what a farce! As you can imagine there were stern words for all the staff, but honestly, such blinding superstardom made common sense fly out the window. (We were lucky nobody thought the works of art worth stealing too.)
    The Louvre has more sense!

  29. I Choose Me says:

No comment except to say that I love that pic of Blue Ivy on the floor vent with her dress billowing around her. So cute.

  30. Steph says:

I really like Beyonce’s look in this photo and her little girl is precious.

  31. Chris says:

The photo of Blue over the air vent is adorable.

I wish I had the funds to clear out the Louvre for my own viewing pleasure!!

  32. Crack Fox says:

There are more pressing matters to discuss

I think Beyoncé face got some major tweakage. Anyone else see it? The cheeks and lips are most notable.

    • Shahrizai says:

Noted the difference; couldn’t tell if it was tweaking, ps, or the angle. She looks lovely, just not herself?

  33. rudy says:

so they closed the Louvre for Beyawnce. Once again, all about her. I would think photos are not allowed of the Mona Lisa. But of course, this family gets to break all the rules. Whatever they want, they get. No wonder the two are at the top of the narcissism tree.

    • mikeal says:

They paid for an after hours private tour, it is something available to those who can afford it.

      Cute family pics.

    • Tiffany :) says:

      The museum was already closed.

Secondly, my co-worker snapped a photo of the Mona Lisa last week. If she can do it, why can’t B & J?

    • COSquared says:

      Wanna join RoyalDish?

    • rudy says:

my bad. They Rented the Louvre on it’s day off. How nice. Everyone can take pics of the mona lisa, great.

Does not take anything away from my view that these two celebrities, most probably the most famous except for Brad/Angie, do NOTHING for anyone but themselves. All about the BeyJay, no treble. She steals songs, he thinks he is Jay Almighty. She lied to her fans about her pregnancy.

How much trouble would it be for this couple maybe to spend a few moments a YEAR doing something that does not involve their faces, their bodies, their clothes. We are lucky if we can kiss their shoes.

Maybe I sound angry, that’s all about the babe. I hate, HATE, that she LIED to my daughter about the surrogate mom. There is NO way this woman who puts up photo after photo after photo carried that child in her belly for nine months. All this deceitfulness just promotes the silence of women with fertility issues.

I adopted my girl and I am Proud of It. My eggs were old, my hubs sperm swam in circles.

Matthew and SJP managed to used a surrogate and keep it all very private. But BeyJay are all about publicity. They manage their public image and we just follow along like sheep.

      • K says:

Beyonce supports over 30 charities. She recently staged and organized a Chime for Change charity concert. Just because she doesn’t scream it from the rooftops doesn’t mean she doesn’t support great causes.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Unless you are building a family with a woman, I don’t feel you are entitled to know the details about the status of her womb. Was her uterus always vacant, was it ever occupied by Blue or any other child? NOT YOUR BUSINESS.

Just because Beyoncé is famous doesn’t mean that she owes the world an explanation about her reproduction. If families who have used surrogates want to discuss that with the world, fantastic, I completely support that. I feel, however, that it is beyond the pale to demand that a woman that you do not know give you the most private details about her body and family.

  34. some bitch says:

I’m really sick of these two narcissists. That said, Blue is a cutie.

  35. aang says:

Did she really wear an american flag T to the Louvre? And then try the “smile”? Hahahaha……….

  36. L says:

WOW so much pressed people. LIVE AND LET LIVE.

  37. kristiner says:

What’s with the Boy Georgesque looking outfit Bey?

“Do you really want to hurt my eyes…”

  38. Jag says:

They certainly aren’t like me because I respect that there is a WALL in front of the Mona Lisa to keep the tourists away, and they do not respect that boundary! You can see him even leaning against the shelf that was made to keep tourists away from the glass. I don’t know how they weren’t escorted out for jumping the barrier, but I guess money pays, doesn’t it?
